In this episode, I'm switching things up a bit by sharing something special with you.

I've had a few requests for it, so I'm excited to introduce a guided meditation session aimed at helping you build a stronger, more trusting relationship with yourself.

This meditation isn't your typical podcast episode; it's a journey towards boosting resilience and finding inner peace amidst life's ups and downs. By practicing this meditation, you'll tap into a wellspring of strength and optimism that can infuse your daily life with a sense of calmness.

And speaking of empowerment, I'm thrilled to announce the upcoming How To Be Your Own Best Friend Workshop, happening on Sunday, April 14th, 2024, right here in Napa, CA. This workshop is all about exploring the transformative power of mindfulness and meditation, all while fostering a deep friendship with yourself.

Now, you might be wondering who this workshop is for. Well, it's designed with people who struggle with people-pleasing and perfectionism in mind. If you find yourself constantly putting others' needs before your own or striving for unattainable standards of perfection, this workshop is tailor-made for you.

So, don't forget to mark April 14th on your calendar, and be sure to visit my website or Instagram for all the registration details. I can't wait to embark on this journey of self-discovery with you!

Within three years, I stoppeddrinking, my mom died of cancer
and my house burnt down in aCalifornia wildfire, and those

(00:22):
are just the highlights.
I have a lot of reasons to bemiserable, but I'm not.
The truth is, life was morechallenging before these events
happened.
If you are tired of waiting foryour circumstances to change to
find happiness and peace ofmind, you are in the right place
.
Join me as I share the tools Iuse in love to transform

(00:43):
challenges into assets andinterview others about their
relationship journeys.
Together, let's learn how tohave a happy life full of
healthy, meaningfulrelationships and say goodbye to
hard times for good.
Hey there, welcome to the HardTimes no More Relationship

(01:05):
Podcast.
I'm Alessandra Tolomehard, akaMrs Hard, your host.
Recently, I've had a fewrequests for a meditation
recording on the podcastplatform, so this week I thought
would be a wonderful time to dothat, because on Sunday, april

(01:26):
14th 2024, I'm hosting aworkshop called how to Be your
Own Best Friend, where I'm goingto share some of my favorite
tools and practices to saygoodbye to perfectionism and
people pleasing while welcomingin confidence and inner peace,
and part of that practice willbe a guided group meditation.

(01:49):
So today I'm going to guide youthrough a meditation that is
going to help you cultivate amore trusting relationship with
yourself.
This isn't the same meditationthat I'm going to share at the
workshop on April 14th, but thisis a very powerful meditation
you can practice and it'll helpyou during times of stress and

(02:12):
anxiety to ease whateverfeelings are coming up for you,
and you'll understand more asyou go through the meditation,
and I'll talk more about itafterwards.
And so if you're driving, youcan listen to this and then just
plan a time later to sit andlisten to it again.
Or if you're walking, this willbe a great walking meditation.

(02:36):
And if you're at homeno-transcript I want you to take
a slow, deep breath, breathingin peace, breathing out stress,

(03:00):
and when you're ready, takeanother slow, deep breath.
Breath.
Remember a time in your pastwhen you felt stressed or

(03:22):
overwhelmed.
Imagine that you're visitingyour past self.
Imagine that you're sendingyourself love.
The energy you send yourselfmay be a color.
It may be a bright light.

(03:45):
You may be showering your pastself with glitter.
You may be sitting withyourself and comforting yourself
like you would a best friend.
Imagine telling yourself thatyou're going to be okay, that

(04:08):
whatever is happening is goingto make you a stronger, more
resilient person, and thatyou're going to get through this
.
Take a deep breath into theconnection that you feel with

(04:42):
your past self.
Now bring yourself back to thepresent moment and take a deep
breath into your chest, intoyour heart space.

(05:03):
Imagine a golden light aboveyour head.
Imagine that you're callingback all of your energy wherever
you've left it.
Maybe you've left some at work, maybe you left some with a
family member you were caringfor.
Call back all of your energyand then imagine reaching up to

(05:29):
that golden ball of light andfeeling that energy fill your
body as it moves down your arms, into your back, your chest,
filling up your neck, your headand moving down the rest of your

(05:52):
body.
As you take in that energy, youfeel replenished, you feel at
ease and when you're ready, takeanother slow, deep breath.

(06:21):
Bring your awareness to yourfeet.
If you're sitting or lying down, wiggle your toes.
If you're sitting or lying down, wiggle your toes if you're
walking.
Pay attention to the feeling ofthe ground beneath your feet
and if you're doing somethingelse, just notice your feet.
So the meditation I just sharedis an excellent way to practice

(06:50):
developing a trustingrelationship with yourself.
The key word is practice, because if you practice this
meditation regularly once a dayfor a week and then sprinkle it
in to your meditation routine, hopefully you have a meditation
routine.
If you don't, you shoulddefinitely start one.

(07:11):
Just take like five minutes inthe morning, 10 minutes in the
morning.
You could even re-listen tothis podcast, to this episode,
and just listen to the guidedmeditation.
Then, when you find yourself ina place of worry, of anxiety, of
instability, see if you can tapinto your future self, sending

(07:33):
you love and seeing that yourfuture self is doing fine and
that your future self has madeit through whatever hardship
you're facing.
And that develops not only adeeper connection with yourself
but also, in a way, you can feelless alone when things aren't

(07:56):
going well.
And when we have an optimisticvision of the future, when we
can look back and see the timeswhere we were struggling and
ended up being okay, then we'reable to be more calm in the
moment, regardless of what ishappening.
And I love using guidedmeditations as like a little
gentle workout for your nervoussystem or your spirituality.

(08:20):
Like you know, if you'rebuilding muscle, you go to the
gym or you lift weights or youdo some sort of practice to
build that muscle over time, andthe same can happen with
meditation.
Think about like guidedmeditation as like a gentle
workout for your nervous system, because that's what you're
really helping.
You're helping your nervoussystem, you're helping your mind

(08:42):
become more wired to a calmplace instead of reactive, and
so you're less likely to getstuck in the chaos of whatever's
going on around you.
And so, like I said, I'mhosting a workshop this Sunday,
april 14th, from 10 to 1130 AM,called how to Be your Own Best

(09:04):
Friend.
This is a live, in-personworkshop in downtown Napa and
I'm going to share a coupletools and practices with you,
and there's only a couple spotsleft.
You can sign up at mrshardcom.
You can find it on my Instagramat mrshard underscore times no

(09:25):
more.
And if you're listening to thispodcast after April 14th 2024,
still check my website because Ihave a new space.
I'm super excited about my newoffice space and it's a
beautiful space for workshops.
So I'm going to have a lot moreregular workshops and they'll
always be posted on my websiteand Instagram, and I'm excited

(09:46):
to see what happens in thisspace, because things fell into
place in such a way that I feellike the universe has a greater
plan, and my hope and dream isthat it's going to be a
community space where peopleshare experiences about what's
really going on in their life sothat they feel less alone, so
that they feel supported, and itcan be a great place to meet

(10:10):
new people and to do spiritualwork together, because when we
work in a group, somethingmagical happens, because other
people put words to things wewere feeling but didn't know how
to express, and it seems likethere's more aha moments that
happen so much faster.
And I love, love, love, lovegroup work.

(10:31):
And if you liked thismeditation and you want to
receive another free meditation,I have a guided meditation for
anxiety relief in my freeoffering, stepping Off the Chaos
Rollercoaster.
There will be a link in theshow notes for that.
There will also be a link forthe workshop in the show notes.
So thanks for hanging with metoday.

(10:51):
I hope you enjoy the meditationand I look forward to talking
to you soon.
All right, take care.
