real-life challenges,breakthroughs and pivotal aha
moments.
Welcome to Hatching Creativity.
Today I speak with JamesCampbell.
He's with the SoutheastAddiction Technology Transfer

(00:22):
Service and the AddictionProfessionals of South Carolina
and we talk about how compliancedata relates to better outcomes
, as well as how good compliancedata can affect your ability to
survive in this workplaceshortage we're currently dealing
with.
Remember, if you like what youhear, please leave a comment,

(00:44):
Creativity.
One of the data points we'reworking on right now, as you
know, we're in compliance andwe're talking with payers about
the relationship of a betteradherence to compliance, which
is really just adherence to bestpractices is all compliance
really is and the adherence tocompliance standards and how it

(01:04):
relates to outcomes andlong-term outcomes for people in
substance use disordertreatment or mental health
treatment.
And, yeah, figuring out whatdata points to look at, how
often, to measure what to dowith that data.
These are all very overwhelmingtasks that are a lot to do but
we know have a direct impact.

(01:27):
Now it's being able torepeatably show what makes sense
.
So you know it's all designedaround reducing the unnecessary
standards and burdens that areon treatment centers that you
know may not be necessary, so itall kind of comes around full
circle with that, which isreally cool.

(01:47):
I don't know if I shared thatwith you that we've been working
on that.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Well, I do think it connects the dots.
Well, it's what you basically,in a sense and I don't want to
like try to tell you your ownbusiness.
You certainly know it betterthan I do.
But where those workforceshortages are there and people
don't have adequate staff andthe sky is falling and we're
putting out fires left and right, organization like Hatch has

(02:13):
the ability to step in and comealongside and help with a lot of
the compliance.
It's almost a way ofoutsourcing that headache that,
for a lot of people, is nottheir favorite thing, is not
their primary focus.
You know they got into thisbecause they want to help people
.
They want to do that in thebest possible way, but they
don't always know the eyes todot and the T's to cross, and
how many of this does that take.

(02:33):
So it gives you opportunity tocome alongside and really
indirectly impact a lot ofpeople's lives by freeing up the
treatment agency to do whatthey do best.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Well, you're also able to.
When you bring an expert in,you're able to analyze the data
that you're collecting right andyou know what value that has on
your organization and theamount of time your staff is
spending doing whatever they'redoing right.
You have a.

(03:04):
You have somebody who reallyunderstands looking at incident
reports and root cause analysisand people leaving against
medical or clinical advicethings like that.
Somebody who really can takedata and do something with it
can make a tremendous impact toquality of care and your bottom
line as well, both there.

(03:26):
