This marks South River's third state championship appearance in program history and first since 2005 – a testament to how rare and precious this opportunity is. to an incredible achievement byour team, our school and our
community.
The South River girlsbasketball team will play
Oakland Mills at the Universityof Maryland for the state
championship tonight, fridayMarch 14th, at 6pm.
The girls are on anunbelievable run, having won 16
games in a row en route to a21-6 overall record.

On Tuesday night South Riveroutlasted top-seeded Oakdale in
a gritty defensive battle 46-43,in the Class 3A state
semifinals.
On a night where offense washard to come by, senior Riley
Adams provided a spark.
She scored a team-high 15points on five three-pointers.
We needed every ounce ofdefensive effort inside a

chaotic final minute.
Oakdale cut it to a one-pointgame with 26.3 seconds remaining
and regained possession on ajump ball with an opportunity to
take the lead.
Oakdale inbounded the ball butmissed a three-point shot.
Junior Key West iced thevictory on a pair of free throws
with a second remaining.
This will be South River's thirdstate title appearance in
program history and first since2005.

Institute 59-51 in the othersemifinal matchup.
