Yuli (00:00):
Welcome to the Healist Podcast, where we unpack the
many layers of holistic health.
I'm Yuli, founder of Healist, your portal to holistic healers
worldwide.
Now let's go deep.
Hello, dear friends, andwelcome to another insightful
episode of the Healist Podcast.
Really excited to share withyou today a topic that is dear

(00:22):
to my heart, and it's the topicof finding and choosing the
right holistic practitioner foryou, for your healing journey.
It's something that is reallycoming up a lot in my work at
Healist.
We recently opened up ourplatform to clients who are
seeking holistic healing help,as well as practitioners that

(00:44):
we've been serving so far withour software tools and practice
management tools, so we'relearning a lot of great lessons
about how people are findingpractitioners, how they choosing
somebody who's right to guidethem on their very important
path of holistic healing andtheir journey of transformation.
The first thing that I want tosay, that sometimes people like

(01:06):
to forget or maybe ignore, isthat most people are finding
their guides, their healers, their practitioners, their
teachers, through referral andword of mouth, and this is just
the reality of this practice.
A lot of it is driven by thetransformational experiences
that you, my dear healers, provide to your clients, and

(01:27):
what happens is.
Those experiences createstories, and this is something
that really every practitionershould strive for create those
stories of transformation.
Whether you record them, hopefully, for your testimonials
and reviews, or not, thosestories travel.
They travel among friends, among circles of families and in

(01:48):
all kinds of magical ways, andthis is how most people really
come to holistic healing.
They see a friend, and oftenit's not something that even
people volunteer, right.
But how many times it happensto you that you meet a friend
that you haven't seen, maybe ina couple of years, and you see
them completely as a differentperson, right?
And you start asking questionswhat caused that transformation?

(02:09):
How have they done it?
And that's how you uncover someof the work maybe they've done
healing their traumas, workingthrough their limiting beliefs
or different modalities withdifferent guides and
practitioners whether it's, youknow, working through with a
breath work or energy healer orwhatever.
Whoever guide them on that knowworking through with a breath
work or energy healer orwhatever whoever guide them on
that path, or maybe even apersonal coach.

(02:29):
Maybe it's somebody who looksjust like younger and more vital
, and you want to know whattheir secrets are.
And then that's how youdiscover they working maybe with
a herbalist or or a Chinesemedicine practitioner, whoever
that is, and and those arereally the best ways to find and
to lead to those practitioners.

(02:50):
And in other ways, you know, when we have family or friends
who are going through healthchallenges, of course this is
the path that usually, orunfortunately, most people find
holistic healing through.
When they come to that pointwhen they really really there's
no other help or there's noother solutions, and they end up
finding holistic practices,right?

(03:12):
So in those cases, usuallytheir immediate family and their
friends they're involved intheir journey and they're really
close, and then that's how theyhear those stories of
transformation.
If a practitioner let's say,again, a functional medicine
doctor or somebody who is a moreintegrative practitioner, or
again, even energy healing, whatever that is, whatever

(03:33):
modality or practitioner bringsthem through that complete
health and well-being, usuallythose stories are very powerful,
right, when you see a close tofamily member or friend being
completely cured of theircondition and back to their
vitality and health, that'susually extremely powerful.
This is how, again, the wordtravels and usually people find

(03:56):
and get referred.
So this is something thatreally should be an ultimate
goal for any practitioner, right?
But also if you're somebody whois starting your healing
journey or curious to exploreany of those modalities and work
with practitioners and kind oflost right in the space because
there's so much Asking a friendor a family member about what

(04:19):
their experience is like withwellness, holistic healing.
It's something that often peopledon't volunteer.
This is something, again, youmight have to prompt or ask more
specific questions and it mightbe too personal for people to
share.
I think some people, if theyfeel close enough, they will
volunteer this information.
But a lot of people they willsee a holistic practitioner or a

(04:41):
wellness coach or learn fromdifferent teachers, but they
don't necessarily volunteer thatinformation.
So the best way to go about itis ask your immediate circle,
your family, friends, yourcolleagues have they had any
experience in holistic healing?
Right?
Or if you're going through aparticular condition or
something that you're trying toresolve let's say you're dealing

(05:02):
with trauma or PTSD and you'relooking for holistic ways to
address that is, connecting withthose communities that are on a
similar path, right People.
And hopefully, if you'redealing with something that you
are part of, a community thatsupports you and helps you but
asking those peers what havethey done on their healing
journey?
What have they explored, whatpractices they explored and what

(05:24):
practices have they exploredand what teachers led them to
those practices?
Because often you know, when itcomes to meditation or breath
work or any of those modalities, usually you discover them
through a guide or apractitioner who introduced them
to you, taught you some of thebasic techniques and then you
continue to practice on your own.
The same with, you know, maybe, holistic healers, maybe some of

(05:46):
them using, let's say, if it'sa PTSD, maybe they worked with a
hypnotherapist or somebody whoguided them through that healing
process of trauma.
So, again, there's so manydifferent modalities that help
with different conditions andthings from physical to mental
to spiritual conditions thatsome of us have as well.
So it's really important to askthe right questions and I think

(06:10):
some of you might be surprisedby, when you ask those questions
, what kind of informationpeople volunteer, and you will
be probably more surprised thathow many people have used the
help of Holistic Healer and theyprobably don't talk about it.
So I think that would be thebest place to start right, Start
with your circle and, especially if you have people
going through similar challengesthat you are hoping to address,

(06:34):
this would be a really amazingplace to start, because the
personal recommendation isalways really a wonderful way to
find somebody.
And again, in Holistic Healingit's all about trust, right?
This is really part of the game.
When you find somebody who youfeel that you can trust, this is
where the healing begins.
We can't heal people withoutthat trust component, because

(06:57):
trust creates also belief.
If you trust a practitioner, you trust your teacher, your
guide.
It creates a belief in you thatthrough your work together you
will achieve that healing thatyou desire.
And they're here really toguide you through our process
and show you the path to healing, which ultimately, it's you and
your body that create thehealing.

(07:19):
But again, that trust andbelief is really important.
So when you get recommended bya friend or a family member, it
automatically creates that trustthat you're looking for and
that solves the step number onein that process.
But another important thing toremember is, when it comes to
holistic healing, I see somepeople approach it as a doctor

(07:42):
search, almost right.
So they're looking for specificconditions that the person has
worked with and maybe aspecialty, and all those things
are important.
And don't get me wrong, certificates can tell you a lot
about a person's specialty andtheir experience and what again
you're looking to be helped with.
But more important thananything in this particular area

(08:05):
is really to trust yourintuition and to find somebody
that you truly resonate with, and I think this is a mistake we
often do in a traditionalhealthcare right.
We just find a doctor with allthe certificates.
We hear that they're the bestin their field.
Maybe they live near you andthey're convenient, their hours
are convenient.
You automatically trust thembecause they have that medical

(08:28):
degree and they have thatparticular specialty looking for
and go kind of blindly for thetreatment and you don't take the
time to do your kind of duediligence right.
You don't get to the doctoroffice and then decide, okay, do
I resonate with this person, Dowe share the same values or not

(08:49):
?
You're kind of in for thejourney.
I know some people explore andget second opinions, especially
with some of the larger, moreserious conditions, but most of
us just kind of blindly trustthe doctor, unfortunately.
So in case of holistic healing,I think it's really important
to find somebody you trust butalso take your time to do to get
to know the person, thepractitioner, because more often

(09:13):
it will be a journey thatyou'll be taking together.
It's not just going to be onesession that's going to fix
whatever you're going through.
It's going to be a journey thatyou'll be taking together.
It's not just going to be onesession that's going to fix
whatever you're going through.
It's going to be a series ofsessions, or maybe it's going to
be a course or a package ofservices, or maybe it's going to
be somebody who's going toreally lead you through your
next chapter of your life.
And you know there's so manypractitioners I've been working

(09:35):
with for years now and theyreally support me on my life
journey in many different ways.
So take your time to really getto know who are you letting
into your field right?
Who is going to be helping youon this healing journey?
Because that decision is reallyimportant, and I do encourage
people not to trust blindly anduse your intuition and just even

(10:00):
a gut feeling.
You know, if a person triggersyou, for example, or they push
your buttons or they create asense of, maybe, discomfort sit
with that and understand.
Is it something that is justcaused by your eternal
resistance, or is it maybesomething legit that you need to
explore?
Maybe this person is not rightfor you for this journey.
Maybe their approach is alittle too aggressive for where

(10:22):
you are right now in your lifeand maybe it's too
transformational or maybe it'stoo gentle.
Maybe you need somebody who isreally going to kind of show you
the way and get you therequickly.
So it could be a millionreasons and this is why I think
it's really important when youare reasons, and this is why I
think it's really important whenyou are planning to work with
somebody in more of a long-termcapacity.

(10:42):
I'm not talking about just amassage session, let's say, that
you take for your pleasure or aspecific pain, but if it's
somebody that you really plan towork with in the long term and
make part of your healing team, take the time to get to know
their values, their energy.
So many practitioners offer thatfree discovery call or a quick

(11:05):
discovery session.
Maybe they're offering ateaching, a group teaching, that
you can attend easily andexplore.
Maybe they have someprerecorded materials online
that you can find and reallyconnect with them just watching
them on camera, on video.
It's so telling right when we,when we see a person on on video
just speaking on the subject oftheir expertise, you can learn

(11:28):
so much about what theyrepresent, what their style of
um are they the right person foryou?
Because that's really the mostimportant question here.
They can be the biggest expertsin their field, but again, if
their approach is not right foryou right now, where you are in
your condition, it might not bethe best decision.
So I highly recommend do yourown due diligence and I

(11:52):
encourage also our amazingpractitioners who we work with
to step up and share as much aspossible as they're comfortable
online, especially share theircontent.
Get more comfortable on camera, because I think it's really
important for clients, and itespecially becomes important
when we're talking about remoteand virtual sessions right when

(12:14):
we book practitioners withoutmeeting them in person first and
so many modalities now arepracticed virtually.
So how can we help people makethat decision?
How can we make them feelcomfortable?
The best way to do it is toproduce content, whether it's on
Instagram or YouTube.
Most practitioners have thosechannels these days and really,

(12:37):
again, it's a message for twosides for practitioners to get
more comfortable in thosechannels and really see it as a
way for their clients to get toknow them better, and then for
clients to also explore and getto know the practitioners
beforehand to really get youmore comfortable.
So when you come to thathealing session, when you
finally book it, you alreadyhave that trust right, that

(13:01):
initial foundational trust thatis so important.
But you also believe thatthey're the right for you and
you kind of signed a silentcontract of allowing them into
your field and allowing forhealing to happen through this
partnership together.
So those are my main tips forlooking and searching for
practitioner.
And, of course, another bigquestion is how do you know

(13:25):
who's right for what condition, what modality?
As you know, in holistichealing it's not directly
correlated.
We don't have specialties likeyou have in traditional medicine
, that there's the food doctor, the eye doctor, so it's very
easy to kind of connect the dotsright.
In most cases, when you have aspecific pain, you know where to

(13:46):
go based on that specialty.
However, in the beautiful worldof holistic healing, this is
what happens Sometimes.
We think we have an eye problem, right, but there's no such
thing as a holistic eye doctor, right, there's many beautiful
modalities that might work onyour nervous system, right,
Because you might find out thatthat eye issue you're having is

(14:11):
actually caused by stress thatyou've experienced over the past
few months, and then again, instead of just treating the
symptom, like traditionalhealthcare would.
The proper holistic healingapproach would look at the root
cause and of the problem thatyou experience and treat that so

(14:31):
you might end up working with ameditation teacher or a
neurofeedback or, again,hypnotherapist.
There's just so many beautifulmodalities that will work with
you and straighten that nervoussystem that eventually are going
to fix that eye issue thatyou're having.
But again, when it comes toholistic healing, we can't

(14:54):
approach it from a symptomperspective.
We can't approach it from thespecialty and organ-based search
.
So you have to be reallyattuned to your body and this is
what great practitioners willhelp you with and they're often
in their intake questionnaire orin their initial session with

(15:15):
you.
They will ask all thosequestions about your lifestyle
because they're extremelyimportant.
How many times it happened thatyou come with one condition but
it completely related tosomething else that you've been
going through?
It happened to me with some ofmy traumas and stress, for
example, where suddenly I got afrozen shoulder and I thought it
was just like a physical resultof maybe too intense workout

(15:39):
that I've done, or bad postureor whatever it is.
And then, as I work withincredible practitioners that
know to connect mind, body andspirit.
I've uncovered that there issome teenage trauma that was
sitting in my upper back formany, many years and once I
worked on resolving some ofthose traumas and issues, all of

(16:01):
a sudden, you know, the frozenshoulder started to disappear
and feel better and it actuallynever came back.
It's something that used tocome back for me once in a while
, but once I really treated theroot of the problem, which was
completely emotional andcompletely trauma related, the
frozen shoulders disappeared.
So that's the beauty of holistichealing and again, you want to

(16:25):
work with practitioners thatunderstand that, that understand
that full mind, body, spiritconnection and they can help you
uncover what is the exactly thecause of what you're going
through.
So I think, asking thosequestions right when you're
talking to practitioner orreviewing their practice or
trying to decide if they're theright for you, also asking those

(16:47):
questions right and and makingsure that they're aligned, that
they know that you're open to gothere, but also that they're
able to take you to those deeperplaces to explore maybe some
past experiences that influenceyou, maybe your lifestyle right
now that is causing some ofthese pains or conditions.

(17:10):
So again, it's really, I seethis process of searching for
the right healer really aprocess of self-discovery.
You're going to discover somany things on the way and so
many things about yourself byjust exploring different
practitioners, and each of themis going to uncover different

(17:30):
sides of you, different sides ofyour personality, your past,
your life journey, that youprobably haven't even thought
about it.
And this is the beauty of alsoworking with many practitioners
and different in differentmodalities that you can uncover
those things.
But it's really important againto find people that can support

(17:50):
you on the journey.
You are today right, andthey're not going to push you
too much.
They're not going to triggeryou too much.
They're not going to triggeryou, but yet they're going to
provide that transformation thatyou're looking for.
And they also going to do itfrom the entire mind, body,
spirit, perspective.
They're going to work on allthose deeper layers and not on
just the symptoms that you'reseeing today.

(18:12):
So that's really crucial andholistic healing and again, it
can be working with a coach.
There's incredible coaches thatare able to solve by just
coaching you and re-examiningand reflecting on your life.
They might be able to heal youfrom different conditions, and
the same for so many otherincredible modalities I think

(18:36):
you have to come to itopen-minded and again, once you
find that person who trulyresonates with you and you have
that trust, let the healinghappen.
This is another very importantpart is you know at some point
you have to surrender to theprocess.
It's not something you can push.
We don't do quick fixes.
There is no magic pill when itcomes to holistic healing.

(18:57):
When you step on this journey,on this path, you have to be
open to the experience and letit unfold whatever way it wants
to unfold, and it can take years, it can be much quicker, it can
take multiple modalities, itcan take exploration with
different practitioners just tounderstand what works for you
and what doesn't For me.

(19:19):
This experience of working withso many practitioners today I
can just say, by looking at aperson I can say, yes, this
person is for me, I want to workwith them, I have things that I
want to learn from them.
They know something about methat they can help me uncover
and they're very knowledgeablein their field, Right so?
But it takes, it takes practiceto really seeing this, to start

(19:43):
seeing those people and tostart kind of differentiating,
Right, Because of course, there's people also in a space
that you know that is.
It is an unregulated space,Right?
So there's people that got aweekend certificate and they
opened their practice, and youknow that's beautiful too.
That's one of the beautifulqualities of this space that
it's so accessible on both ends.

(20:05):
Right To become a holisticpractitioner or a guide or, you
know, a breathwork or a coachit's pretty relatively easy
these days or a Reiki master Allthose courses are accessible
online.
Some of them you can do evenover the weekend, right?
But we, as, as receivers of thehealing gifts, we need to be
able to do our own due diligencea little bit.

(20:27):
In this unregulated butbeautiful space of holistic
healing, we need to be able todo our own due diligence.
That, again, is not oftendriven by traditional metrics
like just degrees andcertification.
We have to use our ownintuition and sometimes
experience.
Sometimes, you know, I give ashot to a practitioner just to

(20:47):
see what they bring, and youknow if they.
Sometimes they deliver, sometimes they don't, and I just
move on, and that's okay aswell, right?
Not everyone's going toresonate with you, Not
everyone's going to have thatkey to your body or mind and
spirit, and that's okay as well.
You have to realize that this isall part of the journey.
We're not here to do againquick fixes.

(21:08):
We're here to uncover partsabout ourselves that are
stopping us from fulfilling ourfull potential, from living life
to the fullest, from having thewell-being and vitality.
So we have to be open toexperience and work with
different people who step on ourpath, whether they're referred

(21:30):
to us by friends and family orsomebody we find online pretty
randomly or we see on Instagram.
We see their reels and we feelreally, you know, attached or
attracted to what they'redelivering.
Whatever way those people cometo our lives, there's probably a
reason right.
There's probably somesynchronicity that brought us

(21:51):
together.
So if you're to kind ofsurrendering to that path right,
and surrendering to thathealing and opening the door for
that person to come to yourlife and really come with
positive intentions for toreceive that healing, I think

(22:11):
that's where the magic can canreally happen.
And when, when that alignmenthappens, when you find the right
person that you're completelyin alignment with, that they're
right here for you at the righttime in your life for all the
right reasons, and they holdsome codes that, again, it's not

(22:32):
theirs, they're universal, butthey help you see them and cover
them.
This is where magic happens.
This is what we call healing, and sometimes it could be
instantaneous healing, becausethey're able to help you bring
your body to full coherence andsuddenly healing happens right.
Or it could be again that maybeit's somebody who's meant to be

(22:54):
in your life for a long periodof time and guide you through
that journey and be that supportsystem that you need right now
and again.
That's a beautiful thing aswell.
To find those people can theycan support you.
I think a lot of time we'relooking for those things in our
friends and family or ourspouses things in our friends

(23:19):
and family or our spouses but Ithink some really powerful and
gifted healers are able to bethose support systems for us
that we need in our lives and wecan't expect to offend from our
immediate family to be so.
I think those are like reallybeautiful relationships that you
have potential to create.
So just remember that when yousearch for your healer or
practitioner, whether you'regoing through a personal

(23:39):
challenge or you're just readyto kind of step up to your next
chapter of your life and embracelife to the fullest just know
that those magical moments exist, that there's beautiful guides
out there that are able to showyou the light, show you some of
those codes that can take you totrue transformation, and it can

(24:03):
happen very quickly and it canbe extremely powerful.
So I wish you really anincredible journey and your
holistic healing, whateveryou're going through, and I hope
this session was inspiring foryou to again look for the right
guides and really embrace thatprocess of search as well and

(24:25):
look at it as part of theadventure and know that there's
this opportunity to uncover newguides that can really open a
lot of doors for you into themagical universe we live in.
