(00:00):
Because what we saw is a lot of draw to this, the joint.
Right?
So if you've ever heard of the jointchiropractic, it's a quick crack and then they
have you out the door, but there's no way likea tentative care to them.
They, they aren't, Hey, give me some feedback.
Can I get an understanding of where you'reseeing pain or how, where, how you're
progressing along the way?
(00:21):
It's Hey, come in here, get a crack and leave.
We don't want to be a reactive care clinic.
We want to be a proactive care clinic.
And so we want people thinking that way of howthey're proactively engaging their health on a
daily basis.
Engaging their health on a daily basis.
Welcome to Health Decoded, your number onesource for real health information with your
host, doctor Alessi and Matt Tacke.
(00:43):
Alright.
Welcome back to Health Decoded.
I'm your host, doctor Alessi.
And the cohost, Matt Taich.
Looking dapper, my friend.
Looking good.
Thanks, bro.
I think we need to, like, change up our introto, like, the most jacked the most jacked
partners or
(01:05):
Dynamic duo.
Duo.
Duo.
Yeah.
Duo.
Get some, like, audio kind of, echoing kind ofeffects going.
Cool.
Yeah.
Dads.
And also owners of C Functional Health.
They love their family so much.
Awesome, man.
Well, man, we got a cool episode today.
(01:26):
If Everybody tuning in, we we really just wantto highlight and share with our community a lot
of the new things that we have innovated withinour clinic and kind of, incorporated to get,
number one, just better results with ourpatients, improved outcomes with just
everything on the the health and longevityside.
And so we really wanna kind of dive into thatand share because I think a lot of people still
(01:50):
are kind of unfamiliar with some of the newthings we've brought on.
And, you know, kind of the the main missionhere, man, is to just, like, level up health.
Right?
Help people to, obviously, take control oftheir own health, number one, but then give
them the tools long term to be able to makethat lasting and and improve longevity for not
just them, but for everyone they interact with.
(02:12):
And so, you know, we'll kinda just go throughkind of a a few things and kinda share, and and
hopefully this can, help people to be empoweredand kind of, you know, take that next step.
So, anything you wanna share before we getstarted, man?
No.
I'm excited to kinda go through some of thethings that we have, in our pipeline at Alessi
Functional Health, new offerings, new thingsthat we're gonna be bringing out.
(02:35):
So I'm excited to dive into the episode todayand let people
listen.
Yeah, man.
And so so, you know, in the within the clinic,if you're not a patient so if you are a
patient, you know what we're doing, and youknow that we have just been continually adding
more and more high level technological servicesto our our suite of services to be able to get
(02:57):
better outcomes, better results, but, ultimately, even to shorten the time it takes
for somebody to heal from things like herniateddiscs, you know, chronic pain, arthritis,
whatever it may be, shortening that gap, getting people back to doing what they love to
do quicker.
And so we're always like, how can we be themost efficient, right, in everything we do?
And so kind of the biggest venture or thebiggest thing we we undertook was investing in
(03:21):
another spinal decompression unit, possiblygetting another one by the end of this year
just because it has become such a big staple ineverything we do.
And the reason being is, you know, I've beenpracticing chiropractic for almost six years
now and was traditionally in a I've been inmany clinics where chiropractic care is the
(03:41):
only thing being done, and nothing against it.
It's a fantastic modality, but it is limited inwhat it can achieve.
Right?
It releases pressure in the joints.
It restores flow and movement and and obviouslynervous system function, but it kind of ends
there.
And so when it comes to somebody with aherniated disc, a bulging disc, sciatica, or
(04:02):
some kind of radicular pain coming from thespine, there's really only, like, two options.
One is surgical, and the other is isdecompressing.
You have to open the space up for that disc towanna go back in.
If you don't, then you're not gonna changeanything.
You can inject it.
You can do all kind of stuff.
You know, steroids aren't gonna fix theproblem.
And so that's why we have invested heavily intothe spinal decompression.
(04:23):
You and I both know the effectiveness of ithaving done it with ourselves, obviously.
Yes.
And the the just amount of people.
Basically, everybody who comes in and qualifiesfor our treatment walks out of there feeling at
least 50% better on one visit.
Right?
And so then it's from there, how do you makethat more of a long lasting kind of thing?
So, you know, we we, were really big proponentsof, like, having, like, a protocol, not just
(04:48):
kind of throw in random stuff around.
And so we came up with this pain free futureprotocol that you and I kind of developed where
we utilize not just the decompression, not justthe chiropractic, but pairing that also with
the soft wave therapy.
And you basically get, like, this summativeeffect of all these different modalities
working together to then, like, 10 x theoutcomes.
(05:10):
Right?
Whereas, like, a traditional sciatica disc isgonna heal maybe six months, right, to really
get that thing gone.
We're we're seeing people in, like, threemonths, maybe even, like, less coming out of
there.
Like, hey.
I think my pain is completely gone.
And so it's just just been awesome.
And, yeah, I mean, that's that's basically whatkind of spurred this this transition and kind
(05:30):
of our focus.
And you've been kind of at the forefront ofthe, the implementation side of, like, getting
the marketing going for that and how do wespread the word that of the kind of the
different ideas.
So talk a little about a little bit about that, man.
Yeah.
No.
I mean, it you what we have when we have, like, kind of the built in protocol, right, we fine
(05:52):
tune that to the patient as well.
Right?
So there's gonna be acute portions of the bodythat naturally need to be focused on.
And so that's what is so awesome about yourselfand doctor Rennie is the attention to detail on
that.
But one thing I also want to mention, and it'ssomething that we're bringing out because what
we saw is a lot of draw to this, the joint.
(06:16):
Right?
So if you've ever heard of the jointchiropractic, it's a quick crack and then they
have you out the door, but there's no way likea tenant care to that.
Right.
They, they aren't, Hey, what, what, give mesome feedback.
Can I get an understanding of where you'reseeing pain or how, where, how you're
progressing along the way?
It's Hey, come in here, get a crack and leave.
(06:37):
And so, yeah, it's the subscription basedmodel, but like it, honestly, there's so many
flaws in it and it, it honestly probablydoesn't work for most people if I would like,
if I have to say that, right.
The joint really doesn't work.
It's not the best, modality to actually use.
And so one thing as we were using as like kindof precursor cursors of like feedback is that
(07:00):
we don't want to be a reactive care clinic.
We want to be a proactive care clinic.
Right.
And so we want people thinking that way of howthey're proactively engaging their health on a
daily basis.
And so we came in with this pain free futureprotocol, also realizing that there's going to
be benefits to actually have this maintenanceand be proactive about your care.
(07:23):
So we supplement that now in various ways, butone of the big things is really being when we
get you through the complete protocol andyou're feeling good, it's like now, what are
you doing after with the education that we'vegiven you?
Right.
Because our number one, tipping point, I thinkthat differentiates us from the rest of,
(07:44):
clinicians is that we give you we educate youon being proactive with your health.
Right?
And it's through various modalities beingsocial, being these podcasts, but really in
clinic is sitting down and really getting thatfeedback.
So I just wanna encourage all the audience andthe listeners is that that is really what is
the separator here is we want your feedback.
(08:07):
We wanna listen to you.
We also wanna educate the long along the way.
And so it's a very reciprocal relationship thatwe have with all of our patients, and that
really is what separates us.
Yeah.
No.
That's that's great.
And I would say that just to add on to that is,like, our success rates are so high because our
patients are engaged, our patients arecommitted, and they wanna get better.
(08:29):
So those three things.
Right?
Like, the mind drives what the bodies canachieve.
And so every patient who's going through one ofour protocols is it doesn't have any doubts.
They're hopeful because they've experienced, usually on the first visit, massive decrease in
pain, right, in improvement in function and allof that.
And so they're, like, they're bought in.
Right?
And and so we get those awesome results.
(08:50):
And then these these stories that we're justseeing on a daily basis, people coming out of
there like, man, I I I picked up my kid againfor the first time in, like, six months, and
you're just like, you just wanna cry with him, man.
Like, you just wanna, you know, you feel forhim.
And and you and I have both experienced, like, true, like, injury and pain and been kind of
held up.
You had sciatic.
I obviously had, like, some some nerve pain inthe shoulder, and so we know what it's like to
(09:11):
be limited like that.
And so when we can get people better, man, it'sjust it's just amazing.
So, you know, realistically, what we're doingis is the future of, nonsurgical back pain
care.
I mean, everything we've implemented, we finetuned, and we've come up with this, like,
protocol that then obviously can be tailoredper patient's needs.
But the base of the protocol being the softwave regenerative therapy, the spinal
(09:36):
decompression to relieve the pressure, and thenthe corrective chiropractic paired with
functional exercise to then hold that inposition for the long term sustained benefits.
So, again, man, everything we're doing is withan end in mind for the patient.
Like, hey.
We're gonna get you good.
Let's high five.
Good job.
And then you just maintain those results.
I always use the analogy of, like, your dentistdoesn't come home with you and brush your teeth
(09:59):
for you, does he?
No.
You go there.
They clean you up real good, but now you gottabrush your teeth.
And so that's what we do is we empower andeducate our patients to, hey.
We're gonna help you get the spine tuned up.
We're gonna fix the problem here within theoffice.
And after that, you just have to maintain corestrength, maintain your movement, maintain
these different things that we teach you tojust keep it there.
Right?
Then if you need, obviously, life happens, lifethrows stuff at you.
(10:21):
You have a little injury or you you feel stiffor whatever.
We we have, options for you to come back in andand maintain.
And that's another thing we actually I'll justkinda pair to this is we're we rolled out those
memberships that's a little bit different modelthan what we did in the past.
So, you know, when when our patients go througha corrective protocol and they've gotten the
results and they're good, we give them amassive discount on any ongoing care and allow
(10:44):
them to just get on this kind of subscriptionthat it's like, hey.
When you need us, come on in.
So it's been pretty that's been pretty sweettoo to see that kind of evolve.
Mhmm.
Yeah, man.
And so kind of next next thing's going on here.
I'll go down to kind of, like, to the bottombecause I think it plays in.
The the next thing we're really excited aboutis this regenerative stem cell therapy that
(11:05):
we're looking to bring into the office.
And so we're partnering with a, really tenureddoc in the area who gets I mean, they were they
were educating us all on this, but the best ofthe best in, quality product with the stem
cells.
And so offering that in the clinic, I thinkwe're gonna probably plan on once a month for
(11:26):
now.
If we need it more, then in the future, we canprobably add.
But, that is just gonna, I mean, amplifyeverything we just talked about.
Right?
So, like, getting those those stem cells intothe area of injury, whether it's a low back
disc, whether it's a a neck disc, but if itcould be at an extremity, a knee, a shoulder.
Right?
And then pairing that with the soft wavetherapy, which I'll expand on.
(11:50):
If if you're unfamiliar with what soft wavetherapy is, it's essentially picture like an an
ultrasound, but it's a water filled applicatorwith a spark unit inside.
And when that spark hits, it creates a soundwave, an acoustic wave that is able to
penetrate into your tissue, which our bodiesare mostly water.
So the waves travel through water, you know, asa medium, penetrates into the tissue into the
(12:14):
cellular level to stimulate our body'sregenerative process, which drives blood flow,
growth factors, all kinds of the good healingcytokines and, and pathways as well as on the
back end stem cell production too.
So then when you pair that with an injectedstem cell, you are, like, amplifying the
(12:34):
results of that 10 x.
And so super excited for that, man.
What's cool about
that too, and we don't wanna just not highlightthis, but recently, the University of Michigan
did a study on acoustic waves, and how the bodyresponds to that for regenerative therapy.
And one of the really cool things is and, youknow, a lot of people actually don't know this,
(12:57):
so I'll bring it back to the basics is that thenumber one reason of why our body actually gets
cancer, over time is because of inflammation.
It's just the core root of inflammation thathappens with our body that naturally the, the
how of your red blood, your red blood cells andyour white blood cells, they, you know, they
(13:20):
overcome.
And so then it becomes an issue where you havemore inflammation in your body.
Your body can't respond.
Obviously the cancer attacks, we naturallyhave, cancer cells within our body when they
become, abundant.
That's when it starts spreading.
Right.
And so with this acoustic therapy, it actuallyis meant to reduce that inflammation.
(13:41):
Right.
And with parlayed that with stem cells, itallows you to exacerbate almost the issue in a
healthy way of reducing that inflammation in away that you then are structurally aligning
your body through chiropractic measures, decompression measures, right.
Building up the core muscle groups.
(14:02):
That's why we're big believers.
We talk a lot about about resistance trainingif you can build more muscle.
But then adding that with regenerative therapytherapy with stem cells indirect site or
intravenous, we have a couple differentoptions, that people are gonna be able to
utilize.
And what that leads to is potentially, like, really dramatic effects.
(14:24):
So I think it's gonna be revolutionary for, honestly, our clinic to create this offering.
We're super happy and super excited, to reallyget it going.
Yeah.
And I I was doing a little market research too,and I don't see anybody in the area doing the
combo of, like, the the stem cell injectionplus the soft wave.
I don't think that's even going down right now.
(14:44):
So we'll kinda be the first ones in Tampa doingthat, which is pretty sweet.
And so just yeah.
Super excited to bring that on, man, becausethere there comes times where there's patients
who come in and it's like, man, hey.
Like, we're limited with, obviously, thealternative stuff.
Like, we help, I wanna say, ninety five percentof people.
Then there's the occasional person who comes inand, unfortunately, their their situation is a
(15:07):
little too far gone or if they let it go alittle bit longer than it probably should.
And, you know, we're we're maybe looking at,like, a bone on bone severely degenerative disc
situation, and we're limited with the resultswe can get with decompression and soft wave.
Right?
Now you pair a stem cell injection into thatarea, You're talking a whole different story
now.
Our our ability to help people goes up a lotmore.
(15:29):
So just really looking forward to, thatinitiative that we got coming on here within
the next month, honestly.
Yeah.
I'm super pumped.
I think that, it's gonna be some great therapyfor for the exactly those patients that, they
really just need, some cartilage in the areas.
Yeah.
Yeah.
They need more, man.
(15:50):
Another really cool thing, man, and you'vekinda been like, I appreciate you for you're
kinda leading the the charge on this one, butthe corporate wellness initiative that we
brought on or just basically launched, andkinda got got, I guess, planned January
starting in January, but now we're gettingready to launch it by the end of this, by the
March is the corporate wellness where we'regonna be partnering with some local businesses.
(16:13):
So talk a little bit about it, man, becauseyou're, you're really the one kind of kind of,
innovating here.
Yeah.
So, you know, with corporate wellness, I Ithought about this a lot, and I think it it's
just an avenue that we could serve and servemore people.
And what we decide to do, and this was a verycollective measure, but, you know, people that
(16:37):
go to work every single day, that's theircommunity.
And so how do you create more engagement withinthat community and no better way than like
health and wellness?
Right.
And then you look at it from an employerperspective of like, how can you get that
engagement?
How can you get, people that just naturallywant to like do things together, stick
(17:00):
together.
They're on the same motive instead of just the, kind of the mundane work to work.
And then they're getting less sick days becausethey're more motivated.
And so I got some construction work going onhere.
I apologize, outside of my house.
But so in the corporate wellness atmosphere, you know, that's our main goal is really to
create healthier employees with healthierlifestyles that are creating this like mindset.
(17:25):
And then also like developing this community,Hey, do you get this done?
And it creates a level of accountability withinthe ecosystem of where they work.
Right.
And hopefully it makes it a little bit more funalong the way.
So we partnered with, NuVita.
And what we're doing is we're basically if youhave 50 plus employees, we have a custom app,
that we're gonna be integrating, and then we'regoing to have coaches along the way.
(17:49):
So there's going to be coaches there givingfeedback, for all, for everyone that's
involved.
And if you're part of an organization, youdon't want to get involved.
It's not like a mandatory thing.
We want you to be invested in this as well.
But we have just apps that track sleepactivity, your workout activities, and your,
all your biometrics.
(18:09):
Those are some of the big things that we likeseeing along the way, including a heart rate
monitor, which, you know, I piloted and betatested.
And I see there really a lot of the value inthat because one of the main things is HRV.
Right?
What is your heart rate variability?
And we can dig into that in a future episode, but that is just something that's extremely
important of understanding the cadence of yourheart rate, how you're elevating it, and then
(18:32):
how it's at a static state throughout the day.
So, but just to go back, the, you know, thebenefits are healthier employers, lower health
care costs for the employers at the end of theday, and really higher productivity.
Naturally, when you're thinking in a healthiermindset, you're gonna get more productivity out
of that.
So, like I said, if you have, 50 plusemployees, and you are looking to get more
(18:56):
engagement, and you're local to the Tampa area,we'd love to talk to you.
And if you wanna learn more about, like, whatthat offering is, we would be happy, to kinda
walk you through that, obviously free ofcharge.
And if you don't want it, cool.
If you do, that's something we can implementfor you.
So, we are we're super excited to create thatoffering because I think we're gonna be able to
(19:19):
help a lot more people.
And it kind of goes into our next thing that wewanna talk about, which is our block party.
Yeah.
And real quick before we get off the corporatewellness, we are looking to bring on some
coaches.
So we know within our community, we have somepeople with some experience and who care and
want to help others.
And so that's what we're looking for is, youknow, people with, you know, a background in
(19:40):
health, fitness, experience.
That's obviously, you know, desirable, but, like, the the nonnegotiable of what we're
looking for is somebody who's got a drive toserve others and to engage people and and
really just deliver.
So, looking for coaches for the team.
So if this is you or someone you know, pleaseget in contact.
The way you can do that isAlessifunctionalhealth.com.

be right back.

Alright.
So we're back.
And last but not least on this list of excitingthings happening at Alessi Functional Health
and within this community is our event comingup this weekend.
It's gonna be March 8, Saturday, March eighthat Alessi Functional Health.
(21:59):
The entire parking lot, we're gonna haveblocked off for just basically the biggest
block party that the world has ever seen.
But but in reality, man, it's gonna be reallycool.
It's gonna get that.
We yeah.
One day, we came up with this idea.
We're like, man, how do we give back first offto our patients who are loyal, dedicated,
everybody just putting in the hard work to getbetter and trusting us really with, with the
(22:24):
care.
And so we're like, man, let's just do somethingbig for them and and kinda show out.
So we're calling it the spring into spring intohealth block party where, we're gonna have all
types of vendors.
I mean, probably dozens, if not more, differentvendors, local people who we know, who are in
the health fitness, longevity, coaching space, some great local food vendors, the boozy pig,
(22:49):
my cousin Andrew and his his, regenerativebutcher shop.
They're gonna bring out some sample food.
We're gonna have dance fitness class going onfrom Jenna who does the bands and booty class
to kinda help women and men.
Right?
It's not just for women, but help you to shapeup the glutes to get a stronger kind of glute
and legs.
And, ultimately, that helps with the low back,so we we definitely, really work with her a
(23:13):
lot.
And then Jake doing some chair massage.
We're gonna have the electrons plus chairmassage samples out there.
And then anybody who is friend, family, justshowing up who's not already a patient, we're
offering a free fifteen minute chiropracticevaluation plus X rays and then a follow-up to
see if maybe we can help with whatever kind ofthings you got going on.
(23:34):
So it's gonna be awesome.
I'm I'm super excited about it.
And it's, I think it's next level.
This is all you.
This is coming a visionary item from you.
This is, super cool.
I think it just, it kind of builds the reallythe momentum around everything that we're doing
and everything that we're working on.
Obviously being cutting edge and just thinking, again, in that kind of the proactive mindset
(23:58):
of, you know, what new therapies can we buildto help more people.
So, these are gonna be some of the we're gonnahighlight some of the things that we have in
clinic, some of the partnerships that we haveoutside, and then some of the collaborations
that we have with people locally in the area.
So we wanna highlight those people, you know, locally to our businesses that are in that kind
of that same mindset, that same field, of howpeople taking care of their bodies.
(24:22):
So I'm super pumped about it.
And, March 8, you don't wanna miss it.
