Cathy (00:00):
What are you carrying around with you that you don't
need anymore?
Letting go is essential to everycycle in life, but can indeed be
challenging.
Luckily nature built in an idealtime to help you do this.
And this episode, you'll findout how you can use nature to
your advantage in making, letting go of things a bit

(00:22):
easier.
And I'll guide you through areleasing meditation to help you
do so.

(01:28):
Hey friends.
Welcome to episode 97.
Today's episode is a little bitdifferent.
I'm going to be guiding youthrough a releasing ritual and
meditation that you can use tohelp make letting go of things a
little bit easier.
Whether it's physical, mental, emotional, or energetic, this
visualization will help youbegin the releasing process.
I used to lead these monthlyreleasing meditations or rituals

(01:53):
in the energetic rhythms forintentional living Facebook
community.
But I haven't in a while.
And I thought this would be alovely time to create a
recording for you to use anytime on your own.
Whenever it matches the timethat's right for you to do the
releasing, which we'll talkabout further in this episode.
And as I've transitioned to acyclical way of running my

(02:14):
business, this is also the sortof thing that I offer up to my
students and clients as a bonusresource each month during the
off week of classes.
The content changes each month, but it's generally just a nudge
to continue to nurturethemselves in some way even when
we aren't gathering or meetingtogether.
This is also the sort of thingthat will be included in the

(02:34):
mindful living for embracing therhythms around you.
Deck that I am in the process ofcreating.
And I'm super excited about.
So create or head to your sacredspace.
And get comfortable and ready torelease.
welcome.
I'm Cathy Struecker and I'll beleading you through a releasing
ritual or meditation to placeintention around letting go of

(02:58):
anything that is no longerserving you in life.
Whether it's stuff from the pastshould's you're carrying around
with you or that box or bag ofstuff that you just need to take
to the donation place, we allhave stuff in life that lingers
with us and weighs us down abit.
But the good news is we can makethe conscious choice to let it

(03:21):
all go.
To stop gripping so tightly toit for whatever reason.
And to instead give ourselvespermission to breathe out.
And let go.
And although letting go can be achallenging thing is necessary
in the cycle of life and allthings.

(03:43):
It's about learning to surrenderto the natural flow of events in
life.
And allowing them to happeninstead of trying to force
something different.
Surrender is not about lettingothers walk all over you.
But instead standing in yourpower, holding your boundaries
and releasing the need to try tocontrol the outcome.

(04:08):
Without gripping or grasping,but instead.
By letting go.
There's the need to let go ofphysical things, as well as
mental, emotional, and energeticthings.
After all, it's all energy.
So it's just allowing the flowof energy to move more freely.

(04:29):
Instead of redirecting it.
Stuffing it.
Avoiding it or blocking it.
Energy can only stay blocked forso long before it has to break
free.
And when it does.
It can either be ugly.
Or it can be beautifullyempowering.
Practicing releasingintentionally on the regular

(04:51):
helps it to be the latter.
More beautifully empowering.
Than an ugly mess.
And by adding intention towhatever it is you're releasing.
It may even become a bitritualistic.
A ritual being a sacred way ofputting your spirit and

(05:13):
authenticity into a habit togive it more meaning in your
life.
An intentional act that resultsfrom an increase in the amount
of attention.
Or energy you put into it.
When you place intention behindthe act of surrendering or
letting go.
As we also practice in yoga.

(05:34):
It helps your nervous systemfeel safe enough to let,
whatever it is you want to letgo of, go.
And if you can create the timeand space to put yourself in a
more relaxed or parasympatheticstate, when you do a releasing
practice, your body mind willmore likely be able to let go
and release.

(05:55):
So when you do this practice setaside time to connect with your
inner self first.
This doesn't have to be a longdrawn out process.
Just enough time to connect.
And I'll guide you through aversion of that in just a
moment.
That may be just placing hand toheart.
Breathing and being quiet for afew moments.

(06:18):
Or it may be by practicing yogaor other intentional movement.
It may be by using breath workor spending time in nature, or
even doing something creative totap into that inner self.
Whatever works for you to bringforth your inner self.
Is exactly right.
And it might change each timeyou do one of these rituals.

(06:42):
Listen to your inner guidance toknow exactly what you need on a
particular day.
But do allow yourself to get outof your thinking brain.
And reconnect with your innerself.
In order to help you with this, you might choose to light a
candle, cleanse your space byburning some Sage or Palo Santo.

(07:04):
Or using some essential oils orroom spray that helps you feel
comforted or perhaps turn onsome music, sip some tea, or
draw a bath.
Whatever helps you create asacred space and feeling.
Now, if you tend to live life onautopilot or go 100 miles per

(07:24):
hour, 100% of the time.
This might be the hardest thingfor you because you don't always
give yourself permission to slowdown and pour back into
yourself.
So having a plan and knowingwhen to do a releasing practice
can be the thing you need inorder to put it on your
calendar.
And make sure it gets done.

(07:47):
Yes, I know this seems kind ofmasculine and could even feel
like it's something to justcheck off your list.
But let's reframe that.
to you making connection withyourself a priority...
creating the container for yourown priority time.
Because, as I said earlier, releasing is essential in life.

(08:09):
Otherwise energy just getsjumbled, stuck or comes out in
an ugly way.
I'm sure you know what I'mtalking about.
And there is indeed an idealtime to let things go in life.
This would be at the peak of acycle.
Ladies.
If you have a menstrual cyclestill, this would be mid-cycle

(08:29):
around ovulation.
For everyone else.
It's at a full moon.
Either just before or within afew days after his ideal time of
day does not matter.
Full moons are a visiblereminder of releasing.
Of letting go.
They are time to look at thepast month or cycle forgive,

(08:51):
whatever needs to be forgivenand let go of that, which is no
longer serving you.
Whatever feels heavy in life.
And since the moon kind ofrepresents our emotional self.
It's a time to also let emotionsout.
Let the inner self come to thesurface and be seen.

(09:12):
This could be your deepestdesires to create beautiful,
amazing things in this world.
Or it could be the ickier partsof you that you regularly try to
keep hidden.
But it's about acknowledgingthem, whatever they may be.
Offering up gratitude for theplace they have or have had in
your life.
And when you're ready, lettingthem go.

(09:35):
And this just starts thereleasing process.
It's not magic and it's not likewaving a magic wand and it's
gone.
But it's the start that needs tohappen sometimes for things to
be released from our awareness.
A releasing ritual helps youplace intention around whatever
it is you want or need to let goof in life.

(09:58):
So let's get started.
In this practice I'll guide youthrough just one version of a
releasing ritual.
There's no one way that is theright way to do this instead.
It's about intention.
For this meditation, you mayneed some small pieces of paper,

(10:20):
a pen, and especially your openmind.
We can work with the mind to letgo of memories, events,
energetic connections thataren't serving us only when the
desire to do so exists.
So consider one to a few thingsin your life that you are truly
ready to part with.

(10:42):
Not the things that you think.
Sure.
It'd be nice to let that go, butthat's never going to happen.
But instead, the things that yousense deep down in your bones,
It's time to be gone from yourlife.
These may be physical.
Or they may be mental,emotional.

(11:04):
Take a deep breath in.
And.
When you're ready.
Find yourself in a comfortableposition.
Either seated or lying down.
Feeling supported on whateversurface you are on.
Allow your eyes to driftdownward and inward.

(11:27):
Notice your breath.
Gently moving in.
And out of your nose.
Take an easy, full breath in.
Noticing expansion and power.
Let the breath gently escape.

(11:48):
Surrendering to the moment.
Breathing in again.
Allow your breath to flow like agentle wave within you.
Releasing and relaxing.
Deeper and deeper from theoutside in.

(12:09):
This is your time.
Your time for change.
With your next breath, bringforth your inner guidance.
Set aside, analytical thinkingand allow that part of you.
To come forward.
That intuitively knows how torespond to life.

(12:33):
Addressing your inner guidance.
Pose the question.
What is it that is ready to bereleased at this time?
Listen for the first answer thatarrives in your mind.
Without searching withouttrying.
Simply listen and breathe theanswer in.

(13:04):
When you're ready.
Addressing your inner guidanceagain.
Ask.
Is there anything else at thistime?
Listening for what comes up.
If nothing does.
Sit in appreciation of what hascome up.

(13:27):
Acknowledging it in all ways.
But if something else does comeup.
Thank your inner guidance andallow that answer to be present
as well.

(13:48):
And finally.
Is there anything else I need tobe aware of at this time that is
ready to go.
Listening.
And thanking whatever doesarrive.
Even if it doesn't make anysense or challenges you in some
way.

(14:19):
See each of those things in someform.
Out in front of you.
Whether it's a physical thing,the written word.
a sound, feeling or anotherimprint of how that thing is
stored in your mind.

(14:43):
And in your mind's eye.
Notice, if you are looking atthem as though you're looking at
a picture.
Or as though they're in front ofyou.
In this moment.
If they're in front of you, rather than in a picture, see if
you can place them in a pictureframe or frames.

(15:07):
Distancing yourself from them asyou do.
Then looking from a distance ateach item within the picture or
pictures.
Spend a few moments appreciatingeach item and its place it had
in your life.

(15:41):
Is there anything you now seeabout this thing or things that
you didn't see before.
Even if it caused pain ordiscomfort.
It brought you to this pointright now.

(16:02):
And is a part of who you are.

(16:23):
Offer up gratitude orappreciation for the part it
played.
And as you do.
Notice how that appreciationfeels within you.

(16:51):
Notice the sensation that youexperience inside your body.
As you extend appreciation andgratitude.
Allow that appreciation to fillyou with love, warmth and light.

(17:31):
Reflect that sense and feelingto each item in that picture or
pictures out in front of you.
Wrapping it around them.
Yet, keeping them at a distance.

(18:09):
Now with great care andattention.
One by one, see each of thoseitems leaving you in a way that
leaves you feeling empowered.
Perhaps they're floating awayinto the sky in a balloon.
Or perhaps each item is beingerased from the image or burned.

(18:32):
Or sent to a black hole or avacuum.
Perhaps they're being flusheddown the toilet or thrown into a
fiery pit.
Buried in the ground.
Or simply thrown into thegarbage.
In whatever way feels best toyou.
See each item leaving your lifeforever.

(19:02):
And in its place resides adeeper well of love and light.
In your life.
Witness your body.
Your energy.
Notice the sense of ease andweightlessness.

(19:23):
You now have.
And gently begin to bring yourawareness back to the room you
are in.
Slowly awakening your senses.

(19:55):
Allow light to subtly andslowly.
Filter back into your eyes.
If you feel whole and completeat this time.
Do some releasing movement, likerubbing your hands together,

(20:16):
briskly or taking a deep breathin and a Lion's breath out.
Perhaps shaking to stimulateyour nervous system or brushing
it off you or your aura.
Or even some dancing in theMoonlight.
You might even simply go outsideand look up at the moon and take

(20:36):
a moon bath.
If you can see the moon.
If you can't.
I trust that the moon is fulland honor the releasing
meditation you've just done.
Then allow yourself to go onabout your day with a greater
sense of ease and freedom.
But if you feel like you needjust a bit more.

(20:57):
And if it feels right to you,you may choose to do a little
physical burning of that, whichyou set free.
And do this only if you are in asafe place for burning and can
safely burn something.
Using the paper you brought withyou.
Right down on separate pieces.
Each thing you released.

(21:20):
Then sign each paper and dateit.
Then as you take it to the fireand burn each piece, declare.
As I release the past.
I allow for the new and freshand vital to enter.
I am now ready to release, whatever it is is on the paper.

(21:44):
And so it is.
Then let go of any remainingemotional or energetic
attachment to it as you throw itin the fire.
Follow that up with any sort ofreleasing movement as mentioned
earlier.
Uh, allowing yourself to go onabout your day or evening with a

(22:04):
greater sense of ease andfreedom.
Thank you for joining me in thismeditation.
I'm Cathy Struecker, cheers tocultivating greater health,
harmony and happiness in yourlife.
