Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, it's Laura and I am here with you for today's
Peak of the Week.
I am bringing you somethingextra special.
I am reading some excerpts frommy upcoming book, my first book
Shine Brighter.
This is an excerpt from Chapter10, unlocking Infinite

(00:23):
Possibility.
From chapter 10, unlockingInfinite Possibility Imagine
waking up every morning with asense of purpose brimming with
anticipation.
You don't know exactly what willhappen, but you're certain of
one thing the potential forlife-changing encounters is just
one step away.
This is an attitude rooted infaith over fear, an attitude

(00:44):
that attracts miracles,opportunities and, most
importantly, people who canchange your life.
An attitude that unlocks theinfinite potential within you
and the boundless possibilitiesaround you.
If you are rolling your eyes atme, okay, I see you, but give
me a chance here to explain.
This can become your reality ifyou choose.

(01:06):
It took me over four decades tofinally get it.
Your life isn't exactly what youwant it to be.
Oh my gosh, I just found I havea typo in my book.
Iphone, my book.

(01:30):
This is awesome.
If your life isn't exactly whatyou want it to be, you can
decide to create somethingdifferent.
You can have what you want, dowhat you want and, most
importantly, be who you want.
What is one thing that you cando today to invite more
possibility into your life?
Maybe it's reaching out tosomeone who inspires you,

(01:50):
journaling a dream you've beenignoring, or taking five minutes
to visualize your ideal future.
Begin now.
It's okay, you can put thisdown and get busy.
Or, if you want to keep goinghere, I go into the science of
possibility.
While the concept of infinitepossibility might sound mystical

(02:11):
, research in psychology andneuroscience offers fascinating
insights into how ourexpectations and beliefs
literally shape our reality.
Studies in the field ofpositive psychology have found
that people with an expectationof goodness, who anticipate
positive outcomes andopportunities, actually

(02:31):
experience more positive eventsin their life.
This isn't just wishfulthinking.
Neurologically, our brainscontain what scientists call a
retecticular Activating System, otherwise known as RAS, a bundle
of nerves that filters themillions of bits of information
we encounter every day, allowingonly a small percentage to

(02:55):
reach our conscious awareness.
The RAS is heavily influencedby our beliefs and expectations,
meaning we literally noticedifferent things depending on
what we believe.
When you operate with a mindsetof infinite possibility, your
reticular activating systembecomes programmed to notice

(03:16):
opportunities that align withyour aspirations, opportunities
that may have always been therebefore, but remain invisible
under a more limited mindset.
Oh, my goodness, I'm gonna stopright there and just ask you do

(03:38):
you actually believe this, thatyou can have what you want, do
what you want and be what youwant and be who you want?
I know, I know.
When the first time someonetold me that and was like, do
you believe this?
Every ounce of my body was uh,no, no, I do not believe that

(04:01):
and I wouldn't say I'm 100% theway there on the have anything
you want and do anything youwant.
I'm like I really want tobelieve it, but I am for certain
that you can be who you want.
You can be who you want, andthat is intentionality.

(04:25):
That is deciding who you want, and that is intentionality.
That is deciding who you wantto be.
That is, oh.
Before you even get your daystarted in the morning, you are
thinking about all the differentscenes of your day and you are
deciding in advance how they getto go.
Will you open the door for astranger?

(04:46):
Will you greet a person acrossthe hall with a big smile?
You get to decide who you wantto be.
This speaking truth, thisarticulating possibilities this

(05:12):
is what gets me so jazzed WhileI'm thinking through this, I'm
literally like, oh, I kind ofwant to skip ahead and give you
something even more, becausethis is something I catch from
people so often and I was guiltyof it for so many years, and

(05:36):
this was being careful with yourwords.
Your words are so powerful.
Your words are only as powerfulas the belief behind them.
If you speak something butdon't truly believe in it,
you're sending a mixed signal.
On the other hand, when yourwords are infused with

(05:59):
unshakable conviction in yourpotential, you become a magnet
for miracles.
So here we go the possibilitydeclaration.
So you want to use thispractice to align your spoken
words with your deepest beliefsabout what's possible.
All right.

(06:19):
Step one create a sacred space, find a quiet place where you
won't be interrupted.
Light a candle or create asmall ritual that signifies this
is a special time.
Write your declaration On ablank page.
Complete the sentence I amready to create a life where and

(06:40):
then let your imagination soarbeyond current limitations, soar
beyond current limitationsDream.
I want you to speak it out loud, stand tall, read your
declaration out loud, withconviction.
I am ready to create a lifewhere Now notice any internal

(07:07):
resistance or doubt that arises.
Next step is refine foralignment.
Rewrite any parts where youfeel dishonesty or disbelief
until your whole body resonateswith the truth of your words.
This may take several attempts, keep the faith and then, the

(07:27):
last step, which is totallyoptional, identify three people
who will support your vision andshare your declaration with
them.
This research shows and I thinkthere's some done by Nathaniel

(07:47):
Braden, who's a pioneer inpsychology of self-esteem shows
that verbally declaring ourintentions, while in a state of
emotional alignment,significantly increases our
commitment and follow-through.
So by speaking ourpossibilities out loud to

(08:08):
supportive others, we create apowerful accountability
mechanism, powerfulaccountability mechanism that
neurologically reinforces ourcommitment.
I mean, isn't this just thegood stuff?
I just love for you to try it.
Try it, align your spoken wordswith your deepest beliefs.

(08:33):
How do you want this thing togo?
You have free will you get tochoose?
So speak, believe, become, speak, believe, become.
