We've been systematically trained to ignore our body's wisdom from our earliest days. We celebrate pushing through discomfort, glorify exhaustion, and wear disconnection like a badge of honor. Most high-achievers exist in a perpetual state of burnout they've rebranded as success. But your body isn't the obstacle – it's your most faithful guide leading you home.

Ready to begin? Start by noticing without judgment. When tension locks your shoulders, ask what you're carrying that isn't yours to hold. When energy vanishes after an interaction, honor that intelligence. Tune out the noise to tune into you. Your body has been whispering all along. The question is: are you finally ready to listen?

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, it's Laura, and welcome to your Peak of the Week
.
So the Peak of the Week, it'swhere we bridge the gap between
external success and internalfulfillment.
So you ever have one of thosedays where something on the
inside feels unmistakably wrong.

(00:20):
You tell yourself the usuallies oh, you're just tired, one
more coffee will fix it.
Just check one more box andthat hollow feeling will vanish.
It never does.
The corner office, theimpressive title, the calendar
that confirms your importancewith every packed hour.

(00:41):
And yet there it is again.
The 2 am staring contest withthe ceiling, the tension
headache that arrives likeclockwork every Wednesday
afternoon, the digestive issuesyour doctor calls stress-related
, that no prescription quiteresolves.
You've become masterful atcompartmentalizing these signals

(01:02):
.
After all, discomfort is justthe price of success, right, but
what if these persistentphysical symptoms aren't random
inconveniences or signs ofweakness?
What if they're actually themost intelligent guidance system
that you possess, one that'sdesperately trying to get your
attention?
What if they're the answers tothe questions that keep you up

(01:26):
at night?
Is this the right role for meanymore?
Should I make that careerchange?
Why doesn't this success feellike I thought it would?
Is there a different way tointegrate my work and life that
actually feels right.
This is the truth hiding inplain sight.
Your body, your body, speaksthe truth before your mind is

(01:50):
ready to hear it, long beforeburnout claims its space on your
calendar, before resentmentpoisons your relationships,
before achievements startfeeling strangely empty, your
body whispers.
It's not betraying you.
It's desperately trying to saveyou.

(02:10):
The problem was never your body.
The problem is that we weresystematically trained to ignore
its wisdom.
From our earliest steps.
We were celebrated for pushingthrough, for hustling harder,
for silencing every signal thatpleaded pause, breathe.
This path isn't yours.
We learned to glorifyexhaustion, to wear

(02:35):
disconnection like a badge ofhonor, and now most high
achievers exist in a perpetualstate of high-functioning
burnout and call it success.
But wise spread does not meanwise.
Your body isn't the obstacle,it's your most faithful guide

(02:57):
leading you home.
When you learn to listen to yourbody signals without judgment,
without shame, to your bodysignals without judgment,
without shame, you unlock anentirely new dimension of
clarity.
That heaviness in your core, awarning flare signaling

(03:17):
misalignment ahead.
The tightness grappling yourchest, a loving reminder you're
abandoning yourself again.
The sudden energy crashes aftercertain conversations.
Your soul whispers.
These aren't your people.
You don't need another strategy.
To push through, you need thecourage to finally tune in.

(03:41):
Tune in.
Listening is your most powerfulact of leadership.
Listening does not meansurrendering.
It means awakening.
It means recognizing thatextraordinary living is not
built on ignoring yourself.
It's built on honoring yourdeepest wisdom.

(04:02):
And here's how that translatesin real life.
Decline the perfect opportunitythat feels heavy.
Protect your energy by removingthe meaning that your body
screams.
Not today.
Choosing aligned action.
Aligned action over automaticachievement.

(04:24):
Action, aligned action overautomatic achievement.
These small acts of radicalself-respect create seismic
shifts in your life's direction.
Maybe?
Well, no, because because thisbody you inhabit, it's not a
machine.
It is a living miracle.
It was never engineered forconstant override mode.

(04:46):
It's designed to partner withyou, guide you toward what's
authentic, what's aligned andwhat genuinely belongs in your
life.
So here's your invitation Beginlistening today.
Begin listening today.

(05:10):
When your gut tightens, don'tbulldoze forward.
Get quietly curious.
When tension locks yourshoulders, don't dismiss it as
poor posture.
Ask what am I carrying thatisn't mine to hold?
When energy vanishes after aninteraction, honor that
intelligence.
Not everyone is meant to sit atyour table.

(05:32):
Know this Name.
It Document it.
A simple body journal, even justfleeting observations, reveals
patterns you're too immersed torecognize what circumstances
trigger that signal.
What message was your bodytrying to communicate?
I want to give you somepractical ways to strengthen

(05:57):
your mind-body connection.
The first is the 90-secondpause.
So, before making decisions,take a deliberate 90-second
pause.
Place one hand on your heart, close your eyes and ask how does
this feel in my body?
How does this feel in my body?

(06:20):
Notice what arises, whetherit's expansion or contraction,
heaviness or lightness, beforeyour mind starts rationalizing.
The second idea the calendarbody check.
All right.
Review tomorrow's calendartonight as you look at each

(06:44):
commitment.
Scan your body's response.
What meetings create tension?
Which energize you?
Can you delegate, reschedule orreimagine the ones that trigger
resistance?
Last idea the physical resetpractice.

(07:07):
Set three daily alarms labeledreset.
When they sound, wherever youare, I want you to take five
deep breaths.
Scan head to toe for tension, release one area that's holding

(07:28):
stress.
And then you ask what does mybody need right now?
What does my body need rightnow?
Then honor the answer, even ifit's just a stretch or a sip of
water.
Next idea the no rehearsalPractice, saying let me check my

(07:52):
capacity and get back to you, instead of automatically yes,
yes, yes.
This creates space to consultyour body's wisdom before
committing.
And the last idea theenvironment audit.
Pay attention to how differentspaces affect your body, which

(08:13):
parts of your home feelenergizing, which work
environments drain.
You Start making micro-adjustadjustments based on those
insights.
You don't need exhaustiveanalysis, you simply need to
remain awake to these signals.
Listening creates space andwithin that space, that's where

(08:35):
transformation happens.
With time, honoring your body'swisdom rebuilds profound trust
with yourself, and when youtrust yourself, your life
expands.
Let me say that again when youtrust yourself, your entire life

(08:56):
expands.
And it's not through force,it's not through effort, it's
not through more control, moreforce, it's through flow, it's
through surrender.
You are not lost.
You are not lost.

(09:18):
You are recalibrating, and themore you listen in, the more you
remember the truth of who youare man.
I don't even know how much I'vegot to add to that.
All I know is that what my bodyis signaling to me is that that

(09:39):
is truth.
That is truth.
And can we start teaching ourkids this?
Because I don't know about you,but I feel like everything
needs an entire overhaul aboutwhat we are teaching our kids.
What are the most importantlessons?

(10:11):
I mean, I won't get into all ofthis right now.
But there there is going to becontinued crumbling of these old
structures to make way for thenew, because something new is
birthing, something new isemerging.
And remember, when you're inthat chrysalis, you're not even

(10:38):
knowing what's on the other sideof that, like you have no idea
what you are capable on theother side of that.
Allow yourself to believe thatthat is not entirely like, it's
all possible, but it all isalready part of your reality.
So we can let go of these oldprograms that tell us to push

(11:07):
through and just pound throughthe pain.
Your body is communicating withyou.
Your body is always trying tospeak with you.
Your body always has somethingfor you.
You just need the courage tofinally tune in.
Tune in, tune in.

(11:31):
If I, with four kids, can findthe time to tune in, you can
tune in.
You can absolutely tune in.
Find some quiet space.
Find some quiet space.
Get off the devices and intonature more often.
I understand if you have tobring your device on a walk to

(11:53):
listen to a podcast like this.
I approve of that.
I approve of that.
But this is also aboutregulating our nervous system.
And what is the best way toregulate our nervous system.
It's to get out of fight orflight.
And what are some ways to dothat?
Nature.

(12:14):
Nature is so healing Getoutside, get outside, get
outside, get outside, getoutside Movement.
Stop sitting, get up, stretchdeep breaths.
Anytime you need to regulateyour nervous system is all about
the deep inhale and exhale.

(12:36):
Try doing 10 of those and tellme how good you feel.

(13:00):
I dare you.
I also highly suggest thatperson, when they call or they
text and your body, like cringes, maybe think you need to take a
little bit of a break.
A little bit of a break becausethat energy is draining you and

(13:25):
we need a reset on you.
We need a reset on calibratingto the truth of who you are, and
that means you got to find somequiet time.
You got to tune out the noiseto tune into you.
Tune out the noise to tune intoyou, tuned in to you.

(13:53):
So, yeah, your body has beenwhispering to you.
Do you hear it?
