Title: Ep2 S3 | The Meridian Singularity Strikes

In this emotionally charged episode of Helldivers Radio, we witness the tragic destruction of Angel’s Venture as the Meridian Singularity reaches critical mass, tearing apart the planet and the lives that once called it home. Joe Turner opens with a grim yet determined overview of the ongoing war efforts, including the growing frequency of Illuminate invasions and the relentless advance of the Singularity.

Penny Lively delivers a crucial Tech Update, detailing significant adjustments to the LAS-17 Double-Edge Sickle and the GP-31 Ultimatum, as well as critical fixes that aim to keep Helldivers battle-ready on the ever-shifting frontlines.

From aboard the SEV Retribution, Bulldog reports live from the edge of the gravitational anomaly, narrating the horrific moment when Angel’s Venture fractures beneath the immense forces unleashed by the enemy. His firsthand account is abruptly interrupted as the President’s Official Speaker delivers a somber announcement declaring a 24-hour period of mourning across the galaxy—and a call to arms to halt the Singularity’s advance.

The scheduled Table of Three discussion was unexpectedly canceled due to a suspected Automaton computer virus infiltrating the station’s data systems. High Command has since launched an investigation into this breach.

Hey there, Hilldivers. Penny Lively here.
Let's talk tech, shall we?
We've got some big updates straight from Super Earth Command and the Ministry of Science.
Buckle up, because we've got a lot of stuff to do.
First up, the LAS-17 Double-Edged Sickle.
We know it was hitting medium armor penetration way too soon.

(04:02):
Turns out that it was just a little data entry mishap, courtesy of Ministry of Combat Optimization.
The fix? Now it starts with light penetration and scales up with heat.
So yeah, the more it burns, the more it hurts.
But fair enough, it's not a big deal.
After 51% heat, you'll start taking burn damage yourself.

(04:23):
Max it out and you'll hit AP4 and leave behind plenty of scorched bugs.
And maybe a few scorched fingers too.
Oh, and did I mention they also adjusted ammo capacity?
Starting magazines increased from 1 to 2, and spare mags went from 2 to 3.
Happy melting!
Now let's talk about the G-4.

(04:44):
AKA the grenade pistol that made you feel like a one-diver artillery platform.
The Ministry of Tactical Logistics stepped in here.
Siege Ready Armor Passive and the Hellpod Optimization Booster were giving out free ammo bonuses like they were candy.
No more.
Now you gotta plan your explosions and make every round count.
If you're a fan of unlimited firepower, time to embrace strategic games.

(05:09):
And of course, the bugs the kind of Ministry of Digital Integrity actually enjoys squashing.
Here's what they fixed.
Scope misalignment.
Gone.
Your aim is now true.
Hellbomb backpack mishaps.
No more accidental activations when entering the FRV.
Language crashes.
Switching between dialects mid-drop won't kill your comms.

(05:31):
Integrative explosives pass through the
comms.
Now works exactly as intended.
Boom.
Guaranteed.
Now the big one.
The Meridian Singularity.
The Ministry of Cosmic Stability confirms that dark energy siphoning is accelerating that

(05:52):
black hole's trajectory.
Angel's Venture?
Gone forever.
And if we don't act, Fenrir III might be next.
So remember, see something weird, especially glowing purple?
Blast it.
That's it for this tech update, Helldivers.
Stay sharp.
Stay deadly.
And never stop spreading democracy.

(06:13):
And remember, the Ministry of Public Morale reminds you that vigilance today guarantees
liberty tomorrow.
Now back to you, Joe.
Thanks, Penny.
Alright, Helldivers, here's the situation this week.
And it's been a hectic one across all sectors.

(06:35):
Let's start with the immediate hotspots.
Luduna Prime, Hasuse Prime, and CC all faced illuminating heritions.
Their sheer grit and coordinated firepower, our forces held the line.
The Ministry of Defense and Logistics reported the precision orbital strikes and heavy infantry
maneuvers played a key role in these victories.

(06:57):
Now, for the big picture.
The Meridian Singularity continues its relentless march.
The Ministry of Truth confirms that dark energy siphoning events have increased by 27% in
the past week alone.
The Ministry of Science has set up observation relays to track the singularity's trajectory.
Early data suggests the event horizon is accelerating.

(07:18):
Let's talk numbers.
Across the Orion Sector, we've seen a 35% increase in the illuminance incursions.
Terminids, meanwhile, remain entrenched on the Bastine Line.
The Ministry of Xenobiology reports unprecedented broad patterns near Arcturus Ridge.
The automatons aren't sitting idle either.
Deep space probes detected heavy construction activity near Virilia 5.

(07:43):
Possibly linked to another petafactory.
High Command is considering preemptive orbital strikes to curb their war production.
So what's the takeaway here?
Multiple fronts are heating up.
Held efforts are stretched thin and the Ministry of Defense has ordered all planetary governors
to prepare for rapid deployments.
This has been your wartime briefing.
Stay strong, stay sharp, and always fight for Super Earth.

(08:05):
Up next is Bulldog.
This segment has been delayed due to time dilation issues.
This was transmitted earlier this morning and is now arriving in time for the Democracy Report.
This is Bulldog, reporting from aboard the SCV Retribution.
A Super Earth Super Destroyer.
Currently in Root Angel's venture.

(08:27):
From the observation deck, I can see it.
The Meridian Singularity.
It's...it's like a wound in the fabric of space.
A swirling void dragging the planet to its death.
I've been following this cosmic predator for weeks now.
From Meridians collapse to its sudden acceleration toward Angel's venture.

(08:51):
The Ministry of Cosmic Stability called it impossible.
The Ministry of Science said it was just gravitational flux.
But I've seen it, Helldivers.
I've felt the tremors through space.
Watched space crack open as dark energy siphons drain life.
And now, Angel's venture is next.

(09:13):
The SCAF teams were deployed five hours ago.
Three full battalions backed by Hellbot drops every fifteen minutes.
But it wasn't enough.
The Illuminate's energy-siphoning towers are anchored into the planet's crust.
Pulling it apart, piece by piece.

(09:35):
Wait.
Oh.
Oh no.
Helldivers.
The surface.
The planet is cracking.
I can see fissures miles wide, splitting open across the Tundra Plains.
Entire SCAF platoons are being swallowed whole.
The Democratic Youth Scout Campground.

(09:59):
The place we broadcast from two years ago.
Is gone.
It's just gone.
But gravity well?
It's pulling planetary trunks into orbit.
We're watching Angel's venture become debris.
Generations of life.
Of colonial effort.
Erased in seconds.

(10:21):
Helldivers.
I don't know what to say.
But we can't give in to despair.
We are Super Earth's shield.
We've lost this battle, but not the war.
We will stop the Illuminate.
We will stop the Singularity.
We...

(10:42):
Never give up.
Fender 3 is...
Next.
Stop.
The siphons.
Helldivers.
Hold the line.
Always.
Democracy.

(11:10):
Citizens of Super Earth.
This is the office of the President.
We speak today in the shadow of tragedy.
Angel's venture, once a beacon of frontier unity and perseverance,
has been consumed by the Meridian Singularity.
The land cultivated by generations.
The lives of the Super Earth citizens,

(11:33):
whose evacuation could not be prioritized.
The proud pines shading the Democratic Youth Scouts' campground.
All gone forever.
Ripped apart by cosmic forces unleashed by the Illuminate menace.
This is not the end.
This is a call to action.
The President has declared a galaxy-wide period of mourning for the next 24 hours.

(11:58):
Flags across all colonies will be lowered.
But even as we mourn, we must prepare.
The Meridian Singularity is moving toward Fenrir 3.
The Ministry of Strategic Defense has issued mobilization orders to all CEF divisions.
The Democracy Space Station will be repositioned to oversee defensive operations.

(12:21):
To the Illuminate, we say this.
Your campaign of destruction will fail.
Your schemes to break us will falter.
Super Earth stands united.
Super Earth stands unbroken.
Democracy will prevail.
Due to unforeseen mishaps,
we'll have to be cutting the episode short,

(12:42):
as I have lost the data for Table of Three.
That's it for tonight's broadcast.
Helldiver's Angels Venture is gone, but the fight isn't.
Next episode airs Friday, February 23rd at 8pm.
Until then, fight hard, die well, and never stop defending democracy.
Rise up now!

(13:03):
Feel the fire!
Marching hearts are willful fire!
The Ministry of Xen-I-Biology. Xenobiology.
The minute...
This is your daily wartime update!
Hold the line, don't break!
Victory's ours to make!

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
