(00:00):
Welcome back to another episodeof the Hello C's Dorsey podcast.
So today I'm actually doing mypodcast literally in my car, in
my garage.
I just got back from doing Lyft, which is Lyft, like Uber Lyft.
So I am lifting my way to makeextra money for not only

(00:22):
Christmas, but also forMarketing ads, different things
like that.
So I'm like, well, I might aswell make some extra money to
help pay for those things ratherthan actually having to come out
of my pocket.
So that's where I just comingback from, but I wanted to jump
on here to say that this morningthe day that I'm recording this,

(00:45):
this morning, I had my podmeeting.
I have some wonderful ladies inmy pod and we're all working on
our digital course, digitalproducts, and we meet every
Wednesday and we talked aboutpodcasting, which everybody
knows that, you know, I, I'm thepodcaster.
I teach podcasting a lot.

(01:07):
And We talked about how a lot ofthe big gurus out there or the
big names, the bigentrepreneurs, they share their
wins, like their success nowversus actually sharing the
struggle when they go throughthe struggle.

(01:28):
So like, Like actuallydocumenting instead of like how
I did this, how I'm doing thissomething like to that effect.
And I thought that was a really, really good idea, like how I
got, how I'm getting scrappy indoing this.
So just sharing the journey, youknow, sharing that you testing

(01:50):
certain things out, I definitelycan do like a whole private
podcast.
I kind of don't want to switchthe subjects, but just sharing
my journey on how I'm trying tobuild my business right now,
like I'm doing Lyft and to helpwith my Facebook and Instagram
ads to pay for that.

(02:10):
And then also strategies thatI'm doing to grow my email list
and what I'm doing on the backend of my lead magnet to kind of
help.
So just sharing those journeysso that your audience can
actually follow along with you.
And while you're documenting, they are listening and they're

(02:33):
going along on a journey withyou.
You just never know when peopleare, you know, people really
like that.
Like they actually like that.
Seeing somebody's journey andhow they're getting there and
the success versus The alreadysuccess but telling them how
they did this I think that's areally great way.

(02:54):
So if you're ever thinking aboutstarting a podcast And you're
like, well, what am I going totalk about?
All you have to do is just pullout your phone like I did i'm in
my car Like I said, i'm in thegarage, you know, i'm I'm
parked.
I haven't gotten the house, gonein the house yet, but just pull
out your phone.
I'm using my voice note app torecord this and Document, just

(03:17):
start talking, just start sayinglike what I'm, what I'm doing
what I'm testing what I'mgetting ready to do on a day.
You'd be amazed that peopleactually listens to it.
So if you're ever thinking aboutlike, what am I going to talk
about?
Definitely just pull out yourphone and start talking.
Just share what you're doingthat day.

(03:39):
Talk about, you know, your winsfor that day.
Talk about what you'restruggling with.
We.
I know a lot of people journal.
I know a lot of people outthere.
They journal.
Why don't you take those journalnotes and actually record a
podcast?
I mean, that would be a greatpodcast because there's people
out there that could relate moreto what you're doing now and

(04:01):
trying to go through it versusyou already gone through it and
you're trying to tell them howyou went through it.
I would rather you come alongand follow me on that journey.
So, I hope this has beenhelpful.
I'm really rooting for what theycall the underdog, the person
that is trying to make it,trying to go through it, trying

(04:24):
to test things out because I'mactually one of those people.
I'm the underdog.
Okay.
Some people might look at me andbe like, Oh, I can't just go
figure out.
No, I don't.
I'm broke.
Okay.
I'm going to be completelyhonest.
Like I'm going to be completelyhonest.
You know I love doing what I do.
I love teaching and everything.

(04:44):
I, you know, been at this forsince 2019 doing my podcast.
It's been fun.
It's been a journey.
I love teaching this.
And is my course a greatsuccess?
No, but people do purchase it.
So therefore I feel like it's asuccess because it's been
validated so many times.

(05:05):
Okay.
But it's just growing myaudience is what I'm working on.
You know, growing my email list, getting.
People to know me more.
So it's definitely a journey.
It really has been.
And to say, I'm like feelinglike I'm starting all over again
because I have grown my emaillist before.

(05:27):
I think the cap was like maybe300 people, but at the same
time, I'm like, I really didn'tknow what to do with those 300
people, like how to nurturethem, you know, how to Basically
give the content, the weeklycontent and everything to them.
Even though I was doing mypodcast, I will like email them

(05:47):
every once in a blue moon, mypodcast episodes, but I noticed
the difference.
I've noticed the difference inbetween like emailing your email
list regularly versus every nowand again.
So I'm like, I'm all for it.
I'm all in trying to build myemail list right now.

(06:07):
So that's where I'm at.
That's my journey.
But I wanted to come on to thispodcast to just talk about that
and just say, you know, pull outyour phone and just start
talking and telling people aboutwhat you're doing.
You know, it doesn't necessarilyhave to be big.
It's like, Hey everyone, I'mhere at Hobby Lobby and I found
this, you know, this sale that'sgoing on.

(06:30):
So if you're into arts andcrafts, or if you're into the
Cricut machine, I have Cricutmachine.
You go into the clearancesection, it's all the way in the
back and thumb through them.
They might have some Cricutpaper or something like that.
Something like that.
But you know it's, it's, it'sthe audio.
YouTube form I will say in myopinion.
This is the audio YouTube form.

(06:51):
It's no video.
It's just straight audio Justdocumenting the day in the life.
So I hope it's been helpful.
I really do remember just pullout your phone Download that
voice note app like I'm doingright now and just start talking
Okay, and have a call to actionat the end.
Like I'm getting ready to do soif you are You Wondering about

(07:16):
launching a podcast, or if youdon't know where to start, or a
podcast has just not been onyour radar to even start, I
would definitely say startingnow.
Okay.
Podcasting is a great way toConnect with your audience and a
lot of people are listening topodcasts more so now because it

(07:37):
is a great tool and a great wayto actually listen to those who
you follow while you're walking, while you're doing the dishes.
Some people listen to podcastswhile they're in the shower.
I don't know how they do that, but more power to them.
But it is a Another form ofcontent that can definitely help

(07:58):
and grow your business, growyour audience, so you can be
that go to expert.
Okay.
So if you're thinking aboutlaunching your podcast and you
don't know where to start, definitely download the free
