On today’s Hello Houston, Ernie and Frank discuss an ordinance passed by the city council last week that prohibits clubs and dance halls in Houston from enforcing unwritten dress codes and requires them to display dress rules near their entrance.
In the first hour, we talk with Lauren McGaughy, an investigative reporter with The Texas Newsroom, who has been tracking Elon Musk’s political playbook inside the Texas Capitol, and Nicole Temple, VP of Education at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, breaks down their new exhibit “Extreme Animals Alive.”
Then, in the second hour, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo calls in to discuss a “Penny Tax” to support early childcare programs. Also, we hear from clinical sexologist Jim Benton, who discusses the intersection of relationships, loneliness, and senior sexuality.
Plus, we discuss Texas Fire Fighters Home, an area nonprofit that provides short-term lodging to firefighters and first responders receiving treatment for cancer and other major illnesses, with TFFH Secretary Andrew Bradley, and firefighter Mike Jensen, who’s currently staying at TFFH.
