Content with Confidence course, which you will find linked in
the show notes. So today is a very short episode.
We're going to dive straight into today's topic and we're
talking about something that can transform the way your business
(01:01):
connects with its audience, and that is SEO strategy. Now,
a few episodes back, I think it was episode sixty,
I talked about free SEO tools that you can use
for your business, and so we're just going to enhance
that topic by expounding on it just a little bit
more so you're aware of why I believe SEO is
so important as a solopreneur. So whether you're just starting
(01:23):
out or you're looking to fine tune your strategy. Today's
tips will help you improve your website's visibility, drive traffic,
and ultimately grow your brand. So again, I always invite
you to grab your favorite drink, find a cozy spot,
and get ready to take notes, because this episode is
packed with insights and we're going to shoot really fast
on this show today so that you have everything you
(01:45):
need in just a few short minutes. So why does
SEO matter? First of all, imagine creating amazing content that
no one ever sees. How disappointing would that be? Right?
(02:06):
You put all this work and effort into creating content
you want people to see it. You might have a
social media strategy, you might not, but at the end
of the day, you do want to have an SEO strategy.
SEO bridges that gap between your content and your audience
by helping search engines to recognize the value of your content.
So it's all about making your website discoverable, ensuring that
(02:28):
when someone searches for topics related to your business, you're
right there at the very top of the search engines. Now,
I want to make sure that you do have access
to the video that I've created to go along with
this episode. So I invite you to head over to
YouTube and I'll leave a link in the show notes
for that, but it's my name YouTube dot com and
then just go to at Dmitria Zinga and you will
find my YouTube channel. And on today's episode, I'm leaving
(02:51):
a link to the video that goes along with this.
I highly recommend that you watch the entire thing because
it really goes into detail about why SEO matters and
sort of how to do SEO, and so I talk
about some of the actionable SEO tips there as well,
and we're just going to briefly cover that here. The
first thing you'll want to do is start with keyword research,
because keywords are the foundation of SEO. That's what people
(03:13):
type into search engines when looking for information. So you'll
want to use tools like keyword Planner, which is a
Google tool, or if you want to find other tools
that you have to pay a little something out of
pocket for, you can use those as well, But start
with Google keyword Planner just because again it is absolutely
free and it's a great start to see what's happening
in the world of keyword research, like what's happening, what
(03:35):
are people searching for how many searches do certain key
terms get per month? And that way you know if
the topic that you want to share has a high
volume of searches. You also want to see if those
searches are in competition with others. So whether it has
a low, medium, or high competition is also going to
help you figure out whether or not it's a great
(03:57):
topic for you. And don't forget about what we call
long tail keywords. Those are three or four ward phrases
that will help you to even get more discoverability. So,
for example, if I want to talk about SEO tips
on this show like I'm doing now, instead of just
using the key phrase SEO tips, which is just two words,
I can use SEO tips for beginners and that can
(04:19):
be my key phrase. So it's three or four keywords
together in a phrase that gives me a little bit
more leverage to gaining traction for those keywords. So think
about these types of things when looking for keywords that
can bring you the kind of search results that you're
looking for. And I'm telling you what this really does work.
I was just looking at my stats recently and noticed
(04:41):
that I am getting more traction on my blog just
because of a few keywords that I've been sprinkling in
as I've researched these words in these phrases and I
see that people are looking for them, I'm using them,
and it is working. So I'm telling you SEO does work,
and it is probably the one thing that I can
say has helped me over the past two decades to
(05:02):
grow my business organically without having to use ads. So
I highly recommend it. And my second tip for you
is to optimize your content. So once you've found your keywords,
you want to sprinkle them naturally into your content. You
want to focus on your titles, your headers, and especially
the first one hundred words of your blog post or
(05:22):
any post that you are creating. So even in your
descriptions of your YouTube videos, for example, the first couple
of words matter in your description, the first couple of
words matter in your titles, and don't forget to include
these keywords also in your meta descriptions, so these would
be meta text and any place on your podcast or
your video or your block to add a description. For example,
(05:45):
in this particular podcast or video, I might even include
in my description something like discover actionable. SEO tips to
boost your website's visibility and grow your audience. And that
would be a sentence that describe what this show is about.
But it uses my keywords. It uses the key phrase
SEO tips, for example. And so the more you practice
(06:09):
finding keywords and then using those keywords organically through your content,
it's going to get easier and easier for you and
be like second nature. And then it's just a part
of your strategy in creating your content. It's not everything,
of course, there are so many different facets to marketing,
and this is just one tiny aspect of it, but
it is a very powerful one, and so I like
to focus on it because it doesn't cost you anything
(06:31):
really to find keywords that will help you bring the
traffic you want. And so anything that I can help
you do as a solopreneur to save money and yet
get a big return on investment, I'm going to help
you do that. My third tip for you is to
make your URL's user friendly. That means keep your URLs short,
clear and descriptive. A good URL might look like this,
(06:53):
So your site dot com slash seo tips or seo
dash tips, that's what I might use, for example, And
you want to avoid cryptic links with numbers and symbols.
Those are really confusing for both users like myself who's
typing it in to the search engines, and it's also
really confusing to search engines. So you don't want to
(07:15):
crowd your URL with symbols and a lot of numbers
and random symbols, right, So that's always going to be confusing.
Keep it short, keep it simple and straight to the point.
And number four, speed up your website. This is something
that I'm constantly battling with as I like to design
websites and I like to use a lot of images,
(07:35):
but it can bloat your site, and it's better to
try to minimize your image sizes the best you can
so that your site is not as bloated. Did you
know that a slow website can really drive visitors away quickly.
I've found that out the hard way. So you want
to use tools like Google Page speed Insights to identify
speed issues. You want to compress your images and clean
(07:57):
up any unnecessary code to improve your loading. Tip So
to clean up that code, ask your web designer how
to go about doing that and ask them to do
it for you, or to just kind of look at
what's going on in the back end of your site
to give you insights into how you can make your
page load faster. Then we're going to get into a
few advanced SEO strategies that I talked about on my
(08:19):
other episode as well, and we'll just cover this really
briefly because I have talked about this before, but just
to remind you that when you are using SEO, there
are a couple more things you can do, just little
tweaks that can make a big difference for you. So
my fifth piece of advice is to earn your quality backlinks.
These backlinks are again like votes of confidence from other websites,
(08:41):
So reach out to reputable blogs in your niche for
guest posting opportunities. Ask around and see if they need
someone to offer more content for their website about the
topic that they're blogging about. And then you'll want to
create sharable content like infographics that others will link to
as well. So do whatever you can. Sometimes you may
(09:01):
even want to be a guest on someone's show that
can help you earn a quality backlink. My six piece
of advice for you, and my last piece of advice
is to update your old content. Your existing content is
a gold mine. Always remember that anything you've ever created
has so much value and so much potential. So take
(09:22):
a look at what you've done in the past and
audit your website, audit your content, and go back and
see what you've done and revamp some of those older posts.
By adding fresh information. You can update the visuals, create
new graphics, you can update your keywords, and boost the
performance of content that's already on your website. You don't
have to always be reinventing the will. But if you
(09:44):
take what you already have and freshen it up and
make it palatable for twenty twenty five and beyond, then
you've just created content that can make a difference for
your site visitors, and you didn't have to reinvent the will.
Looking at your old content, making sure that the keyword
strategy is on point for all of those posts is
(10:05):
going to help you as well. Now, if you have
hundreds of posts, it's probably not in your best interest
to go back and change everything, but even just freshening
up a few posts as you have time can be helpful.
And so if your site's really small right now and
you don't have a lot of posts, you can go
back to your old onesay, say you only have ten
or twenty, you can go back and freshen those up
and then start to create new content. So my closing
(10:27):
thoughts for you is that SEO might feel like a
puzzle okay, but once you've got the pieces in place,
it's incredibly rewarding. Also want to remind you that SEO
is an ongoing project for every solopreneur. You never stop
working at SEO, and it's not a one and done
kind of deal. It's something that we are constantly doing
and it's just part of the strategy. It's part of
(10:48):
the daily and weekly grind of having an online presence. Remember,
it's not about overnight success, it's about consistent, intentional effort.
So i'd love to hear from you. I hope this
was everything you needed in the short space that I
was able to share this with you today, and I
would love to hear which SEO tip you're going to try. First,
(11:09):
let me know by tagging me on social media or
just leave me a comment on my YouTube channel. Head
on over there to watch the full video. And before
we wrap up, I want to invite you to check
out my content with confidence course. The link for that
course is in the show notes, and I try to
mention it on every show unless I forget, because I
want you to know that what I have available to
(11:31):
you is just part of my passion to create products
that help solopreneurs to be insightful and to do what
you know you're supposed to do. So I want to
encourage you to launch, to launch that podcast, to create
that YouTube channel, to write your first couple of blog posts,

your message your way online. So until next time, I
(11:54):
can't wait to share more with you to your online
business success.
