(01:00):

It's that simple. So you can grab your spot today
and let's chat about how we can move your content
strategy forward. I can't wait to meet you and cheer
you on in your journey. Okay, now let's talk about

(01:21):
something I know is going to help you out. It's
creating content that your audience will love. And I know
it sounds a bit daunting, right, but trust me, it
doesn't have to be. Today I'm going to break down
exactly how you can create content that not only resonates
with your audience but also helps you grow your business.
Let me tell you a little story from my own experience.

(01:43):
When I first started creating content for my various brands,
it was all over the place, my content creation, that is,
and I'll be honest, some of it just wasn't hitting
the mark with my audience. I had this idea that
I could speak to a lot of people, or even everyone,
But what I quickly realizes that it's impossible to speak
to everyone. So I was spreading myself really thin. But

(02:05):
once I honed in on my ideal audience or audiences
women entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, and busy moms and for my other brand,
homeschool Moms, the content that I created started to feel
more personal and my audience really connected with it. So
my first tip for you is to understand your ideal audience.
And you've heard this before, I'm sure I've said it,

(02:26):
so many times on other episodes. But it is absolutely
critical to your content strategy. And I'm not just talking
about basic demographics. I'm also talking about psychographics really getting
into their pain points, their desires, and the things that
keep them up at night. Now, this doesn't mean you
need to be perfect from day one. It's okay to
audit your audience along the way. And what I mean

(02:48):
by that is check in regularly. It's something I do
a lot. For instance, I've created a customer avatar for
my audience, and you can easily do this as well.
It's just a way to visualize and understand who you're
talking to when you create content. So for me and
I do have a video about this that you can
check out and see the full length and scope of

(03:10):
this topic. But I know that my ideal listener is
a woman who is probably in her thirties or forties
or fifties and is juggling her business and family life.
She's probably a solopreneur or maybe she's looking to grow
her business into something bigger. She's also likely interested in
faith based content, especially for my homeschool brand, and she's busy,

(03:34):
super busy, so she's looking for content that is clear, concise,
and actionable. So what helped me get really clear on
this was diving into my own analytics. So I use
Google Analytics for my blog and YouTube Analytics for YouTube
of course, to see who's engaging with my content, and
by looking at things like their age range, their location,

(03:55):
where they live, and their interests, I get a really
clear picture of who's consuming my coment and what they
care about. For example, I found that a significant portion
of my audience is from the US, but there are
quite a few from the UK as well, and that's
something I really hadn't expected at first, but it's good
to know. Right It's not just about your numbers, it's
about listening to your audience as well. So I conducted

(04:17):
those surveys, those polls. I've had real conversations with my
community to get feedback on what they need and what
they're struggling with, and this feedback loop helps me to
adjust my content to solve their problems. So, for example,
if someone were to comment on my videos that they
took a lot from that particular video and thanking me

(04:38):
for my time creating it, I might even go a
step further and ask them not just thank them for
commenting and for watching, but ask them what can I
do to better serve you? Or what kinds of videos
are you looking for on this channel? What's the next
recommendation you have? And I'll try to make a video
for you. I just like to try to be a
bit personal sometimes when I can, and ask specific questions. Okay,

(05:01):
now that we've talked about understanding your audience, let's move
on to the very next crucial step, which is finding
your voice. Now, this is your secret sauce, your authenticity.
It doesn't matter if someone else is talking about that
same topic or that same niche. Your voice is always
going to be unique to you. I promise you, and
let me tell you, your audience will feel that authenticity.

(05:22):
They want to know that you're being real and not
just trying to sell them something. Of course you want
to sell them something, but you want to do it
in a way where you show up as yourself and
be authentic, and you're more likely to make a better
connection with those who are listening to you. So let
me give you a personal example. When I first started out,
I was trying to emulate other content creators. And you'll

(05:43):
hear that episode, and if you haven't you might want
to go back and listen to that episode. Why I
don't copy other creators, I think that is episode number
sixty nine. And so I go into detail about how
it was difficult for me at first because I wanted
to be like all the other greats out there there, right,
And that's just a natural response to us as humans

(06:03):
wanting to be better and get better at something. I thought, Hey,
if they're doing it this way, I should do it too.
But you know what, it didn't work for me. My
audience could tell that's not me, and it felt exhausting
to try to be like someone else. So what I
learned was that I had to lean into my own
story and my own experiences. I started being more open

(06:23):
about my journey, the struggles I faced as a mompreneur,
a homeschool mom, a solopreneur, and the challenges of balancing
these multiple business ideas. And guess what, people started connecting
with me in a deeper way. They weren't just following
me for my content. They were following me because they
felt like they had a connection with me, or maybe

(06:44):
they knew me to some degree. So my recommendation is
to lean into your own unique voice. And don't worry
about perfectionism, about being perfect. You're going to attract the
right people by simply being yourself. Your audience isn't looking
for a perfect creator. They're looking for someone they can
relate to, someone who understands their journey. Now, let's talk

(07:06):
about something that I believe is so important, which is
how you present your content. Now. I know it can
be tempting to try every format under the sun, and
in my last episode, I encouraged you to try the
different formats. But here's the thing. You need to pick
a format that works for both you and your audience.
So in the past, for me, podcasting has been a

(07:28):
game changer and still is. It's not my only game changer,
it's not my only format, but it has been a
real game changer for me. It's a format I feel
really comfortable with, and it allows me to connect with
my audience in a way that feels very personal to me.
I know my audience because these are busy solopreneurs and
moms and they're constantly on the gohot, so a podcast

(07:49):
fits perfectly into their lives. They can listen while doing
dishes and driving kids around or walking the dog. Podcasting
gives them a chance to multitask while still learning and
engaging with me. But I also know that some of
my audience members are more visual learners, so I encourage
those of you who love being on camera to consider
starting a YouTube channel or creating video content. It's all

(08:12):
about figuring out what your audience resonates with. Think about
your audience's needs. Are they visual learners, maybe YouTube or
Instagram is where you should show up, or do they
prefer audio than a podcast might be the better option
for you. And again, for more details on how to
choose your perfect content, to go back and listen to
episode seventy two, and don't forget whatever format you choose,

(08:36):
consistency is key. So pick your pillar content, whether it's
a podcast or a blog or a video, and stick
to that format and this will become your main piece
of content from which everything else flows. You can repurpose
this content across your social media and your other platforms.
So now I have a few action steps for you
for the week, and my first one for you is

(08:57):
to remember to understand your time target audience. So for
this you might want to create a detailed profile of
your target audience. You can use chat GPT for this.
You can brainstorm with a business partner, a friend, or
whoever you can communicate with about your business, and really
think about who you're trying to reach. Think about their

(09:17):
pain points, interests, and how your content can serve them. So,
for example, if you're targeting busy moms who homeschool, list
out their typical challenges, which could be for example, lack
of time or curriculum decisions, or balancing work while teaching
being working homeschool moms, and then outcomes should be that
you've written a description of maybe a one paragraph summary

(09:41):
of your ideal audience, including their age, their lifestyle, their struggles,
and how your content can solve their problems. So that's
one thing you can do. Another action step for you,
Step number two is to identify core topics. So this
is where you'll want to set aside a few minutes
to brainstorm a few topics. Maybe I'll say five to

(10:02):
ten that your audience would find valuable and would love
to hear from you about. These could come from common
questions that you've already been asked on your social media comments.
Really look for what's already out there, what you've already
published and what those questions have been. Look at your
responses to emails that you've sent out, questions on your socials,

(10:24):
questions on your YouTube channel, any blog post comments that
you might have, and any questions people have asked you
in maybe a zoom meeting or some type of a
similar webinar something you've done, and make a list of
those topics for example, and going back to the homeschooling
idea as an example, maybe your topics would be managing

(10:45):
multiple age groups, right teaching multiple ages, or quick meal
ideas for homeschool families. The outcome is that you might
have a document, or if you're really geeky, you might
want to spreadsheet with all of these topics and rank
them based on relevance urgency for your audience. There's other
ways to rank these topic ideas as well, based on
keyword research, but for this exercise, I won't ask you

(11:09):
to dig into keyword research just yet. Just see what
your audience is looking for and then make a document
listing those topic ideas. Now, the third step is where
I will ask you to dig into researching your keywords.
That's where you'll want to use your tools like keyword
Planner and pull out your Uber suggest or anything else
you're using answer the public, that kind of thing. So

(11:30):
I'll leave links to these in the show notes, and
then what you want to do is enter your topics
into any of these tools and then record the keywords
with the high search volume and low to medium competition.
I prefer low competition, but you might want to use
some that have medium as well. Look for long tail keywords.
And I may have already talked about what long tail

(11:51):
keywords are in the last episode, but if I haven't,
just a quick recap on that, it's basically your three
or four words keywords. So these are keywords that are
not just one word. For example, instead of just typing
in homeschooling, which is extremely broad, I might type in
quick meal ideas for homeschool families. That's about six keywords

(12:13):
six words right there, So that would be a long
tail keyword, or sometimes I'll call that a key phrase.
So you'll want to look for those types of keywords
that you can rank for and then compile a list
of five to seven strong keywords or key phrases for
each topic that you've already listed. My fourth tip for
you is to create an editorial calendar you want to

(12:34):
plan out your content for the next month based on
your chosen topics and your keywords. So decide the type
of content you're going to do. Hopefully you've decided whether
you are a blogger, whether you're leaning toward making video
or podcasting, right, so choose one of these types. There
may be others, but choose one of these three main

(12:55):
types and then assign a published date for each piece
of content that you just in your document, include notes
for specific calls to action. What do you want them
to do as a result of having listened to your
podcast or having watched your video or read your blog post?
Do you want them to download your free homeschool planner
or attend a free homeschool webinar? What is it that

(13:16):
you want them to do? And the outcome is that
you're going to use your tools. Again, tools are so
important and running a business as a solopreneur. You can
use your Google sheets, you can use your Trello or
your notion or your Google calendar to organize that publication
calendar because we really want to get moving on our
content this year. And lastly, you'll want to choose one

(13:38):
topic from your list and draft a piece of content
such as that blog post or that videoscript. Now, once
you have it on your calendar, you know what you're doing.
You have your keywords, you have your topics. Now the
last step is to draft it. Go ahead and create it.
Use your keyword research, focus on providing value and solving
that problem for your audience while you're doing your podcast,

(13:59):
while you're doing your video, and add that call to
action such as subscribe for more tips or download this
extra planner that I have for you. And then complete
a rough draft and review it for clarity and engagement.
Schedule it to go and take a deep breath, relax,
wait on the moment it's published, and celebrate. So I

(14:19):
hope that you will put these into action this week
or in the next couple of weeks. I'd love to
hear from you. This is your homework for the week.
By the way, I've recently begun to create a homework
for the week, and I hope that these steps will
set you up with a solid foundation for creating audience
focused content that connects, engages, and drives results. Keep this
momentum going and don't hesitate to reach out to me

(14:42):
if you have additional questions. And that's a wrap for today.
So I hope you found today's tips helpful and that
you're feeling inspired to create content that your audience will
absolutely love. And now remember the key is knowing who
you're talking to, finding your authentic voice, and creating content
that not only resonates, but also converts. And before I go,
I want to remind you to download my nine Steps

(15:04):

for you, and it's the strategy that has been my
