SPEAKER_00 (00:02):
Welcome to Her Positive Legacy, the podcast
that celebrates resilience, reinvention, and uncovering joy
in life's everyday moments.
I'm Angie Lasowski, mother ofseven, entrepreneur, and someone
who has walked the path ofstarting over after experiencing
grief, loss, and challenges.
This podcast is a space where Ishare the lessons I've learned,

(00:24):
the stories that inspire me, andthe light I've discovered along
the way.
Together, let's create apositive legacy, one story, one
step, and one day at a time.
Hey there, friends, and welcomeback to Her Positive Legacy.
I'm Angie Lasowski, and I'm sograteful you're here with me

(00:45):
today.
This episode is one I feltdeeply called to record, because
if you're like me, and like somany of us, there are days where
we question the path we're on.
Days we wonder...
Have I already lived the bestparts of my life?
Let me say this clearly for bothof us.

(01:05):
Our best days are still ahead.
We may carry scars, stories, andsetbacks, but those things don't
diminish our future.
They shape it.
And if we lean into the lessons, not just the pain, we can write
a chapter even more beautifulthan the ones we've already
lived.
The author C.S.

(01:26):
Lewis once said, There are far,far better things ahead than any
we leave behind.
And I believe that with my wholeheart.
Now let's get honest for amoment about what it means to
stay positive.
It's become such a buzzword thatwe sometimes lose its depth.
Staying positive doesn't mean wehave to plaster on a smile and

(01:49):
pretend everything is okay whenit's not.
No, real positivity isresilient.
It's the quiet strength thatsays...
Even in the hard moments, Itrust better ones are coming.
As Holocaust survivor andpsychiatrist Viktor Frankl wrote
in Man's Search for Meaning,When we are no longer able to

(02:12):
change a situation, we arechallenged to change ourselves.
Positivity is about hope andchoice, even when circumstances
feel out of our hands.
there's a shadow side tochallenging times that i want to
talk about today emotions likejudgment cynicism and resentment

(02:33):
they're seductive aren't theythey make us feel righteous we
think if i'm angry it means icare if i point out what's wrong
i must be doing something rightbut here's what i've learned and
it's humbling judgment gives theillusion of morality but rarely

(02:54):
leads to transformation.
Psychologist Brene Brown put itthis way, judgment belongs to
those who are willing to get inthe arena.
It's easy to stand on thesidelines and throw stones.
It's much harder to look in themirror.
And that's the work.
We're not here to build thewalls of superiority.

(03:15):
We're here to build bridges ofunderstanding.
When someone hurts us or behavespoorly, our instinct might be to
match that energy with criticismor distance.
But real change, lasting,soul-deep change, happens when
we lead with curiosity, notcontempt.

(03:35):
So ask, what pain is behind thatbehavior?
What might they be carrying thatI can't see?
And what in me is beingtriggered and why?
This isn't about excusingharmful behavior.
It's about refusing to let itbecome our model.
But here's the truth, friends.

(03:57):
If we want to live in a worldwhere fear and anger don't rule
us, we have to stop feedingthem.
We have to pause, reflect,choose.
And that choice begins with usevery single day.
Even in traffic, even inconflict, even when someone
doesn't see our heart.
Maya Angelou said, Do the bestyou can until you know better.

(04:21):
Then when you know better, dobetter.
Let's be the ones who choosebetter, who respond with love
instead of reactivity, who turnpain into purpose.
So, as we close this episode, Iwant to offer a small challenge.
Take just one moment today tocatch yourself before a

(04:43):
reaction, whether it's judgment,a sharp word, or an internal
criticism.
Pause, breathe, choosedifferently.
That is how we create a legacy.
Not by being perfect, but bybeing aware.
Our best days aren't defined byour circumstances.
They're defined by our capacityto grow, to love, and to rise

(05:07):
again.
So don't look back in regret.
Look back with wisdom.
Look forward with faith and walkinto each new day knowing it's
not over, not even close.
Thank you so much for joining meon this episode of Her Positive
Legacy.

(05:27):
I hope today's conversation leftyou feeling inspired and
reminded that no matter whatchallenges you're facing, it's
never too late to start over orcreate a life you're proud of.
