Have you heard of fascia?

It's become a bit of a trending topic, but in case it's new to you, just know that it's a form of connective tissue that connects everything to everything in your body.

I'm actually not exaggerating. It's basically the matrix that covers every organ, bone, muscle, and tissue and connects them to each other.

And in living bodies, it's actually ever-changing and dynamic, responding to movements, traumas, impact - whether physical or emotional.

It can become tense and tight or fluid and relaxed, according to today's guest - myofascial release therapist Lindsay Courcelle.

And if you've been listening for a while, you'll probably know that our pelvic bowls and our breasts/chest are two places in our bodies that have a tendency to store trauma and emotions more than others.

So much of our sense of safety, sensuality, sexuality, creativity, nourishment and relationship can show up in these power centers of our bodies.

Which is why something as simple as a gentle, slow and deeply listening touch like myofascial release can have profound therapeutic benefit for those who are holding any emotions in our tissues (hint: that includes almost all of us).

Listen in to learn:

  • what fascia is and why it's dynamic and ever-changing
  • how your fascia responds to emotions and trauma
  • why touching your body IS touching the earth + vice versa
  • what myofascial release (MFR)  is and how it's different from other massage + craniosacral work
  • how the slow, gentle, patient approach of MFR encourages lasting change
  • ways to support your pelvic bowl + breasts/chest through MFR
  • a simple guided breast/chest myofascial release practice you can do now
