"Communicating with plants" can feel mysterious, especially if you're new to it.

And really, what does it mean to connect with them? How do you cultivate a relationship beyond knowing their name and potential ways to work with them?

What happens when we start to weave ourselves back into the story of the landscape, and recognize that plants are actually always sensing and communicating with us and the entire ecology around them?

Plants are beings just like humans. They may be more stationary, but they are absolutely sentient and when we learn to tune into their subtle language (whether that's physical, chemical or intuitive), there's so much we can receive.

Like today's guest herbalist and author Liz Neves shares, even just being around plants can offer healing once we expand our perception of what's possible and open up to receiving their wisdom.

She shares stories of developing her own relationships with plants, partly through relationship with place, even though she's primarily lived in the urban world of NYC for the past 20 years.

With tools like meditative states, presence, creative expression and just noticing who shows up, we can begin to make connecting and communicating with plants into a daily practice that helps us experience more meaning and healing throughout.

Listen to learn:

  • what meeting a plant wherever you are means
  • how to begin to connect with the plants and landscape around you
  • simple practices you can start with to cultivate these relationships
  • stories that give glimpses into what plant connection can look like
  • ways to connect with plants whether you're in a city or live rurally
