sometimes I think about Book of Boba found just like
they did the flashback soweirdly compared to like what
Andor is doing, Andor makes moresense with the flashing back cuz
his backstory is like reallyimportant when they could have
just showed what happened to Boafed.

It does make more sense whenthey're flashing back, in this
story than it did in book of BoaFed.

Because, Bobba, he looked the exact same.
So it could have just been likea before scene and then later
they show what got into near theend.
But in this show, like you haveto know that that's and or that
we're looking at not some justrandom kid that we're trying to
learn the story of.

goes into a shop to use thesecret communications device on

Deputy Inspector Karin issues abulletin for a canary male,
which is a big deal because he'salways told people he's from

That he used to go to Moran oneand then it flashes back to
Kaari.
The village kids leave with CasaU and or and he leaves his
sister in the village.
And that's the end of episodeone.

and or episode two, that would be me casting
attempts to lay low on Ferrissas agents of the law.
Close in we get another Canaryflashback village kids track on
the way to, and Casa looks outover the deserted minds that go
on forever.

New Rock Stars, said that thisparticular scene, they think
with the kids wearing all theold or stuff that doesn't fit
them, that maybe all the parentsdied in the mine accident and
the kids are still living.

progression of droids becauseonce I, a while ago, like a

R one units, there's R two Rthrees, R four s, R fives.

It's really interesting to seethe progression because like
some of the square heads, if yougo to the Hollywood studios,
then you can go into that Troybuilding place and they had the
couple things on the walls.

Well, did you realize that R two D two got his name
from Lines and dialogue and Ithink American, uh, graffiti.
And so George Lucas liked that.
So he wrote that down from thatmovie.

seeing star Wars it seems soheavily populated.

they have a warrant for and or Bshows up to work.
Preor guards search and ORs,room guards interrogate be and

I was entirely expecting him to save the wrong

I mean some, I guess

So, you know, we talked about Aham Asylum last
time.

And so this time we're talking about Aham City
and I mean, any game that youcould play as the Batman, I
think, or is a great game.

except for how is this game better than the last.

ZaneMan (01:25:38):
so this game, I think it was the comments that was a
little more polished.
it was a lot nicer to go aroundthe city.
In this one

it was a lot more open and like, so a asylum
obviously is the asylum.

ZaneMan (01:25:54):
It was limited to the a like not just a building, but
you could go around Aham asylumand not go out of it.

P Lantern (01:26:01):
Right.
And that was not very open.

ZaneMan (01:26:04):
And in fact, in Aham Asylum, the Gotham City was a
part of the sky box.
You couldn't actually go to it,but you could see like Wayne
Tower from

Jonni Boy (01:26:16):
Yeah, there was some, like, you had to get the
controller just right to lookover to get some kind of achieve
red trophy.
Yeah.
Looking over the city,

P Lantern (01:26:26):
it was a thing for Wayne Tower and it would be
like, it said something aboutthe fact that it was Wayne
Tower.

ZaneMan (01:26:31):
It was like Wayne watches over the city or
something,

P Lantern (01:26:34):
something silly like that.

Jonni Boy (01:26:35):
Something ch cheesy.
But this game you can go allover the city, which it was
good.
However, when you're just onArch Asylum, you're going to a
few buildings.
I think they should stilllimited it to a, you know, just
a few buildings.
I don't know how you guys feelabout, but I, just felt it was,
it was too much, too fast.

P Lantern (01:26:56):
I.
That the way they started it wasgood.
But as you got into the openworld and you got into the rest
of the opportunity to like goaround the city and fight crime,
and then you had to go fromplace to place to place to
place, I think they could havedone that better.
But as far as how much space youhad to work with, I think that

was good.
I think they did that wellbecause it gave so much
opportunity to explore and somuch opportunity or a well
polished and well developedgame.

ZaneMan (01:27:28):
I very much agree.
but before we get into anythingmore about the game itself, I
would like to talk about thestory of the game.

Jonni Boy (01:27:34):
Well, one thing before you do the story part, I
just want to add this littletidbit.
Go ahead.
with the, world being, you know,more expanse, it was basically
had to go back and forth a lotYeah.
To get to certain places andthere was no easy way to get
from one side to the other.
So if you were on one side, youhad to get way back over to the
other side to do something wayback on the other side, to do
the other thing.
And so if they would've keptyour task, like kind of Yeah.

(01:27:58):
General area, and you did thoseand then you moved on, it
would've been better becauseback and forth, or just make it
an easy way to get back.
So now you talk about the story.

ZaneMan (01:28:09):
Well, I'm not gonna get that much into the story, Just a
little bit about it.
so it starts off with, Batmansitting in a chair and this guy
comes up on the screen, I don'tremember his name, and then you
like have to rock outta thechair and you have to take out
one guy or whatever.

P Lantern (01:28:24):
You rock and you rock and then rock, rock, rock back
and forth.
And then you fall on your sideand you're like, Oh.

ZaneMan (01:28:29):
And in that part of the game, if you like, mess up one
of the rocking points, you hadto like basically start over.

P Lantern (01:28:34):
Yeah.
You lose your momentum and thenyou like fall outta the chair
and you come out and you'relike, Oh, that man.

ZaneMan (01:28:42):
But you're not, cuz it's Bruce Wayne.

P Lantern (01:28:44):
Yeah.
It's just Bruce Wayne.

ZaneMan (01:28:46):
I don't know who the Batman is.

P Lantern (01:28:47):
It's just Bruce man.

ZaneMan (01:28:48):
It's just brs man.
Bat woman man.
Wayne.
Yeah.

Jonni Boy (01:28:53):
Cat girl.

ZaneMan (01:28:54):
Cat girl.
That's what it is.
So you walk out, you're inprison, everyone just like, Man,
we hate you.
So like die.

P Lantern (01:29:03):
Yeah.
You're like some rich scoundreland they're all up on the fences
and they're like, Oh, when youget in here, we're going to eat
you alive.
We're gonna eat you a littlebooty.

ZaneMan (01:29:12):
And then one guy behind him was just like, Yeah, stay
away from me.
I don't like you.
And then these guys try to fighthim and Bruce Waynes just like,
get behind me.
He's like, No, I'm running formy life.
And then he immediately getskilled.

P Lantern (01:29:22):
Yeah.
And then, Bruce is like, Wellthat's on you.
I mean, I'm not my fault.

ZaneMan (01:29:26):
Sounds like kind of a you problem.

P Lantern (01:29:28):
Yeah.
And then Bruce proceeds to, youknow, do what Bruce does best.
Nothing.

ZaneMan (01:29:33):
Yeah, exactly.
he like walks past and I thinkyou see the penguin, and he has
like a bottle on his eye.
It's like covering his eye,right?

P Lantern (01:29:42):
it's like a makeshift, monocle, but it's not
a bottle.

ZaneMan (01:29:45):
I'm pretty sure it's the bottom of a bottle.

P Lantern (01:29:47):
It's the bottom of a bottle, but it's not like an
entire bottle.
He doesn't have like some Pepsibottle on side eyeball.
Right.

ZaneMan (01:29:52):
Whatever.
Do you beat him up?
I mean, he actually runs away,but you can beat him up before
he runs away.

P Lantern (01:29:58):
Yeah.
You have to be quick.
And then that's when you'relearning the combats.
You don't have everythingunlocked, but the combat in,
Arkham City is really the bestaspect of the game.
Like it's simple to an extent.
There are certain parts that arelike hard to understand, but
those parts are short lived.
They're like certain enemiesthat, you know, you have to

(01:30:19):
learn how to fight.
Yeah.
But other than those enemies,it's really just like you beat
one guy up and then boom,there's another guy and then
boom, there's a counter.
You flip over that guy.
It's a lot of cool movement, butit's not super complicated.

ZaneMan (01:30:33):
Yeah.
and then a couple of thingshappen and.
Before you know it, you're, yourealize that someone just like
shot through a window and you'relike, Oh, it came from that
building.
And then it's like, oh, it'sJoker.
and then Joker does what he doesand he, he tricks you, cuz
somehow he tricks out theworld's greatest detective.

P Lantern (01:30:51):
I mean, obviously Joker is so smart.

ZaneMan (01:30:55):
and like Joker infects him with this toxin that's like
joker's, infected blood.
and so the whole game is aboutyou trying to find this serum
that helps you and you have tolike go through Mr.
Freeze and

P Lantern (01:31:08):
Raj Ul.

ZaneMan (01:31:09):
Raj Ul I'm just gonna skip to the end of the game cuz
not much happened.
Other than that,

P Lantern (01:31:14):
I mean, not a whole lot of serious development.
I mean, at the very start of thegame, like after you eat the
Penguin, you quickly get scootedalong.
You meet Harvey Dent, have alittle thing with him.
That's when the shots happened.

ZaneMan (01:31:31):
Cat was there too.

P Lantern (01:31:32):
It's in the courtroom.
and you can also play hiscatwoman in this game.
Certain points.

ZaneMan (01:31:36):
Yeah.
we, getting around the city ishorrible.
Yeah, it's really bad.

P Lantern (01:31:39):
Later, on you come into this big building, it's
like a church or, like a libraryor something.
And then Arley Quinn in there,you throw up against a wall and
that's it.
That's the whole thing thatshe's in the game for.
She's just there to, get smackedone time and it's over.
And then you get to the endwhere you're like, fighting
Joker and he's dying.
And then he, you know, Batmansaves himself with the serum to

(01:32:02):
fix Joker's thing, and then hegoes to save Joker.
And Joker was like, smacks itoutta his hands and was like,
basically like

ZaneMan (01:32:10):
he runs up and he tries to lap it off the floor like a
dog.

P Lantern (01:32:13):
And then that man was like, you know, after all this,
I was still gonna save you.
Like, that's what's, that's,that's funny.
It's the biggest joke of it all.
And then Joker was like, youknow, Yeah.
It's pretty, Actually that'spretty funny.

ZaneMan (01:32:26):
You know, when I, when I think about it, that is kind
of funny.

P Lantern (01:32:30):
I mean, it's a little comedic and then he coughs and
coughs and then he's dead.
the place you were at thebeginning of the game and that
kind of consists to the rest ofthe game, was Dr.
Hugo Strange?
Dr.
Hugo Strange is a soundsfamiliar psychiatrist in the
Gotham series.
And he's bald and he hasglasses.

ZaneMan (01:32:54):
He does have glasses

P Lantern (01:32:55):
and a beard.

ZaneMan (01:32:56):
I don't remember a beard.

P Lantern (01:32:58):
He wasn't bald faced.
He had, he had no hair on thetop of his head and he had a
beard and glasses.

ZaneMan (01:33:04):
The interesting thing about this game that kind of
relates to us just talking aboutStar Wars is that this joker was
actually voiced by Mark Hamill.
Yeah.
I don't remember who playsHarley Quinn.

P Lantern (01:33:17):
It was very short anyways.
I mean, the only Harley Quinnstuff that was in there, other
than that was her being on thetv.
And it's just her talking.
There was no, like, her being inthe game.

ZaneMan (01:33:29):
Oh wait, that was Tara Strong too.
So those are like, in myopinion, I think those are very,
good voice actors for both ofthose characters.
because I really like MarkHamill's Joker.
I think he does a very good jobwith it, especially his laugh.
Yeah.
Tara's strong.
She is like great at voiceacting in general.
She does tons of voices.

P Lantern (01:33:49):
Yeah.
Tara does really good.
alright, so let's get into like,the game, part of the game.
Like, not the story, but likehow the game is played.
Yeah.
Like aspects of the game.
Pro cons, otherwise,

ZaneMan (01:34:03):
Well, the whole part about getting around the city,
it's an interesting concept.
I just don't think it was, Idon't think it was done the best
way.

P Lantern (01:34:11):
so they didn't really have any real way to travel
quickly.
Yeah.
Like those games have fasttravel points, and I don't think
this game had any.
And if they did, it wasn't veryaccessible.
And then, without fast travel,there was a lot of places you
couldn't get in and, you know,it was just annoying and there

(01:34:32):
were dead ends and there weren'ta lot of easy ways to get out of
stuff.
Like, there was a certain partthat, you know, when my dumb
self as a kid was playing on myPS three, I was going through
the city.
I was, near the, prison Blackeight prison I think it was.
Yeah.
With, Hugo String to running thewhole thing.

(01:34:54):
And I was needing to dosomething inside the prison, but
there was a specific way toenter it and I couldn't enter
it, because my game file wascorrupted and I had to reset all
my progress.
Yeah.

ZaneMan (01:35:08):
overall I think I would probably prefer Ark and asylum.
Whether that be nostalgia orsomething of the sort.
I, think that chime of like themedical chime, every time that
someone would come in over theover speakers and Ark Asylum was
very rememberable and it's, andit's a nice time too.
in this game.
I don't really remember anythingthat stands out at any point.

P Lantern (01:35:30):
The thing that I remember the most about this
game were two very distinctsounds.
The sound of finishing someonelike the punch.

ZaneMan (01:35:40):
I remember that too.

P Lantern (01:35:41):
Like p like echoed.

ZaneMan (01:35:45):
Yeah, that's, And then the bats too.

P Lantern (01:35:47):
I was, I say, and then the bats.
And that came off of every like,unc, unconscious person.
Yeah.
I say it in quotes because, theabsolute devious combat in that
game was maniacal.

ZaneMan (01:36:02):
No way.
Like he's saving all of thesepeople.

P Lantern (01:36:05):
There was no way that those people were just
unconscious.
He was exploding them withexplosive gel.
He was throwing like razor sharpbatter rings at them.
he was blowing them up.
He was throwing them off roofs,hanging them by their ankles.
There was no way that they, allof them survived then.

ZaneMan (01:36:27):
I feel like, you know, Even that, having that, I'm
pretty sure I remember that morefrom Aham Asylum too.
Just the sound of the finisher.
I feel like I remember that oneover this one.

P Lantern (01:36:39):
No, I remember, I mean, I think I played Aham City
more than I played AUM Asylum,to be fair.

ZaneMan (01:36:47):
So the A weren't really where my childhood, I just
remember that at one point I sawthat my dad had the game cases
and it said they were rated infor mature.
And I was like, Hey dad, could Iplay this?
Or it was rated T for teen.
I think I was like 12 at thetime.

P Lantern (01:37:03):
No, it was m for mature,

ZaneMan (01:37:05):
whatever.
I feel like even my dad didn'thave it, but I feel like even
ACA Knight, I remember justseeing a joker pop up places and
just talking to you because hewas like, in your mind.
Yeah.
but like this one, I feel like Iremember that the city was like

(01:37:26):
really annoying, especially asCatwoman.
the story was less memorablethan the other two.

P Lantern (01:37:32):
I've, I have a couple things to say about, you know,
AUM City.
Go ahead, boss.
one of the things I wanted tosay was, the graphics, you know,
a lot of people can hate on it.
The time in the era that thisgame was in.
There are a lot of graphics thatstill don't top that.
Like, sure, you look at thepeople and it was like, whew.
Oh, they do not look good.

(01:37:53):
But if you look at the, like,surroundings, you know, it, it
felt very ambient.
the ambience was well made.
The sounds were well made.
the lighting was good.
It was always dark, it wasalways mucky.
It was gross like the city wasmeant to be.
I agree.
one specific thing that isn'tnecessarily gameplay, but
whenever you got knocked out,which depending on how good you

(01:38:15):
were, could be more frequentthan other times.
you would have a little cutscene with whoever like knocked
you out

ZaneMan (01:38:23):
and do you remember that?
That was good.

P Lantern (01:38:25):
Yeah.
And if it was their goons thatknocked you out, they would
still come talk to you.
Like, so if Penguin's goons beatyou, then Penguin would come
talk to you.
If Joker's goons would beat you,Joker would come say something
to you.
If Harley would beat you orHarley's goons would beat you,
she would come talk to you.
And it was like, you know, Mr.
Freeze was the same.

(01:38:45):
And it was, really interesting.
Cause they all had differentquips.

ZaneMan (01:38:49):
I think it was funny because sometimes they would be
like, Man, I, really expectedmore of you from this.

P Lantern (01:38:54):
I remember Harley Den would like flip a coin and catch
it and be like, you know, youkind of suck.
Yeah.
Like I, I knew I was gonna killyou one day, but dang, you're
kind of an L dude.

ZaneMan (01:39:07):
I feel like we could have gotten on for a long time,
but you just kind of an L bro.

P Lantern (01:39:10):
there wasn't a lot of like bat cave stuff or anything
like that in this and a lot ofthe abilities weren't all too
special or specific to remember.
You would like unlock a newability and then you wouldn't
even use it.
cuz you were so focused on themain combat and there were no
like health bars, for anyone butthe big bosses, I'm pretty sure.

(01:39:33):
Yeah.
And you know, it was aninteresting game though.
It was very fun.
but I do agree with ZaneMan onthe aspect of the city.
The city was very hard to workaround.
It was very annoying.
It was, painful.
They constantly go from place toplace to place.
that was really frustrating.

(01:39:53):
And then find all the ridtrophies, was rough cuz they
were small little trophies andyou know, you could see it with
your, like your ar detectivemode, but then they wouldn't
show you how to get to'em.
They would just have like thisweird cryptic hint just like in
the first game, but lessinteresting.

(01:40:13):
Were unnecessarily complicated.

Jonni Boy (01:40:16):
Yeah.
The Ridler trophies were a pain.

ZaneMan (01:40:18):
They always weren't all those in the first one too.
I don't recall them being in thethird one.
I think those were like theRidler keys in, like the Ridler
races in that one.

P Lantern (01:40:26):
Well, the third game, a knight as always, always bad.
Been bad.

ZaneMan (01:40:33):
We'll get to it.
well we have to wrap this upsoon, so I wanna ask a couple,
like two more questions.
One, old p lantern, what wouldyou rate this above or below on
all three of those games?

P Lantern (01:40:45):
Okay, so Arkham City, if I had to rate it out of all
three, I have to go with numberone, and then asylum is number
two.
And then obviously nights wouldbe number three.
But if I had to rate out of 10comparatively to other games, I
would have to say story likeseven.
it wasn't very, you know,special.

(01:41:08):
He was just, you know, Batmanbeing Batman, fighting his
villains.
the only reason I gave it anextra two or seven, instead of
it being average was the wholeaspect of him starting off as
Bruce Swain in the prison and.
You know, disease, the idea thathe would slowly get weaker and

(01:41:28):
had to fight Joker.
Yeah.
the gameplay itself was like asolid nine.
Sometimes you'd get caught onthings.
The hit boxees were weird, butall in all, the combat really
made up for it.
So that's why I give it a nine.
Combat was really good.
collectibles, I mean, wasn'tmuch to'em.
It wasn't, weren't that speciallike a four outta 10.

(01:41:48):
It wasn't that good.
Yeah.
And then I guess for map, theidea and the general, like, city
were good and they looked good.
Moving around was bad, so I'dhave to give it like a six.

ZaneMan (01:42:03):
I think those were ratings were very clear because
you gave like every, everyaspect of rating.
One of my last questions is toyou Jonni Boy.
What you being an older playerof this game, probably playing
it near when it came out.
What do you think about it?

Jonni Boy (01:42:18):
I think I prefer the first one more just because

ZaneMan (01:42:21):
I think same.

Jonni Boy (01:42:22):
I wish there was, you know, more elements of, at the
back cave.
I just liked that it was just ashort area.
I think I would've liked City alot better if I didn't have to
run all over the place to getstuff.
Cuz I was just felt like I wasrunning all over the place.
Yeah.
At times.
And that's all I was doing.
Swinging all over the place, orcrawling or whatever, or
climbing.
And that part I didn't reallylike, I mean, I liked exploring,

(01:42:46):
but it was like going back andforth and this and that and
trying to find everything.
That part I didn't really like.
So with the first one being morecontained, I liked that.
that piece of it I liked, but itwas a, it was a good game.
It was a good follow up game.
you know, maybe if they kept itto one particular area, you

(01:43:07):
know, and then expanded uponthat, I think it might have been
better.
Like nowadays, they would justrelease a portion of it and then
release more of it.
And that might have beensomething that they could have
done.
I mean, they, they couldn't doit back then, but if they did it
like that, it would be moreappeasing, I think.
Yeah.
So my rating on City wouldprobably go higher.

ZaneMan (01:43:26):
Okay.
I think those are very accuratedescriptions of the game.
I mean, I agree with you Jonniabout how Aham asylum is rated
top.
I think it'd be like 1, 2, 3 ismy rating of the games.
You know, one our asylum andthen city and.
Night.
I think those are, a good orderof them.

Jonni Boy (01:43:47):
Sounds about right.

ZaneMan (01:43:49):
I think that's all we have to say with how we need to
wrap up.

I will say that the new game that came out that
