Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi guys, welcome back to the hey Shayla podcast.
We are starting season three.
When I started this, I didn'treally think I was going to do
seasons, but the seasons of lifehave happened.
I am back and I am so excited.
The podcast is truly my favoritething to do.

(00:21):
That I do, and I'm just tryingto figure out how to be more
consistent at it, because notthat you want to know any of
this information, but first Ihave to think about who should I
have on my podcast, and then Ihave to think about what topic I
could talk about with them, andthen I have to reach out to
them and then we have toschedule it, and then I have to
make questions for them, andthen we have to actually do it

(00:42):
and not reschedule five timesthem.
And then we have to actually doit and not reschedule five
times.
And then, once we record it, wehave to edit it and add ads and
intro and outro and show notes, and there's just so much that
goes into it.
But truly I love it and fromeverything that I've ever done,
I know that that's the path thatyou're supposed to take.
Anyway, it's literally almostbeen a year since I posted.

(01:06):
That's not.
I don't think that's howseasons are supposed to go, but
that's how it's worked out.
So a little update is we nowhave an almost four-year-old, an
almost two-year-old and we arepregnant with baby number three.
I assume that people listeningto this probably listen
elsewhere or probably likefollow on Instagram or YouTube,
so they know this stuff and I'mlike or not, we'll be having a

(01:28):
baby number three at the end ofsummer and, as far as gender
goes, I like I'm an open book.
I would be like, hey, I'm twodays pregnant, I just found out
and tell the world.
My husband is the exactopposite.

(01:48):
He prefers privacy, and so Itry to be very conscious about
the things that I share, makingsure that it's not our news,
that it's just my news andtalking mostly about my stuff
and not our stuff.
So he has requested with Idon't remember if we did it with
Aaliyah or not that the genderis something that we get to hold

(02:10):
close to us until the baby'shere and not share with the
interwebs.
And it's kind of a fun game forme because I have to try not to
slip up and so we do know thegender and we're going to reveal
it when the baby is born.
Yeah, I have about 10 episodesalready filmed that just need to

(02:34):
get out now, and they arephenomenal.
Every time I do interviews withpeople, I'm always so, first of
all, I'm shocked at the peoplethat say yes, because I'm like,
really, you're like an author ofa book, you like have 100,000
followers on Instagram.
I just like put these people onpedestals and I'm just like you
want to talk to me.
And then their interviews arejust always so good and I get

(02:59):
off of these interviews withjust a high oh and we're leaving
for Hawaii.
This is a whole nother thing.
I did a whole YouTube videoabout all of this, but basically
it was Seth's bucket list tripwas Hawaii, and I was like, well
, tough luck, buddy, because wegot toddlers and we are not
going to do that, we are notgoing to be flying children to

(03:21):
Hawaii, but we are.
And when we decided, like are wegoing to do try and do, like
the nine hour direct flight, arewe going to break it up?
I was like, you know, I thinkit'd be better to break it up,
and now I'm not so sure.
But we have a four hour flight,a four hour layover, a six hour
flight.
So, on the fourhour layover,we're just going to get some
wiggles out, get some dinner, just take it real slow.

(03:43):
Just, you know, have that goodmindset Anytime you travel with
kids.
I feel like you have to knowthis is not going to just be
like your typical restingvacation, but I never did
resting vacations anyway.
I always like to explore, soit's always fun for me just to

(04:05):
get to experience the placesthrough my kids' eyes and just
give them a lot of grace.
Because we're going to do timeexcuse me, time travel time
zones.
We're going to do long flights.
I'm trying to like get them allthe snacks where I'm filling
their Easter basket with somelike knickknack stuff for the
plane and trying to geteverything packed up.
I'm trying to get everythingwork-wise done.
So for the next two weeks I canjust be present in Hawaii and

(04:30):
then when we get back we havetheir birthday parties and then
a couple of weeks later we havemy sister's baby shower, which I
feel like a freaking genius.
I'm planning it and we're goingto be meal prepping for them.
You two are on this station.
We're going to make breakfastburritos.
You two are on this station.
We're going to make some soup.
You two are on this station.
I haven't come up with the menuor anything yet, but that's what

(04:51):
we're doing and I just thinkI'm just way more practical.
I'm not and I'm like, oh yeah,I probably should do decorations
too.
I just am more like the logicalmind.
Oh yeah, and I had COVID and Iwas sick for a while.
Like it's just been kind of aroller coaster of a ride, but
isn't it always like?
I feel like you could talk toany mom and they'd say the exact
same thing and you'd be like, yeah, girl, yeah.

(05:13):
So that's kind of the updatewith life around here.
But if you're like I don'treally care about you personally
, shayla, like let's get to thegood stuff.
That's what's coming.
We're going to release a couplethis week and then one every
week after that on Thursdays, and I will be sending it out in
the email.

(05:34):
If you subscribe to the podcast, not only does that help me with
growing the podcast, you alsoget notifications on wherever
you subscribe.
So, like Spotify will be likeoh hey, shayla, put on another
podcast, or Apple or wherever.
So please do subscribe andplease comment I believe it or
not.
Read every single one of thecomments, no matter where you

(05:54):
post it because it all pulls inone place for me and I love
getting the feedback good or bad, good or bad, I love it.
So that's enough of me blabbingon.
I hope that you guys have afantastic week.
