In 2003, a declassified document released by the CIA detailed the observation of the Gateway Tapes, a process created by The Monroe Institute in the 1980s. The series of guided meditations used hemi-sync technology to synchronize the brain's hemispheres, facilitating altered states of consciousness. Participants reported experiences ranging from deep relaxation and heightened creativity to out-of-body experiences and expanded awareness. The program aimed to explore the potential of human consciousness and its applications in various fields.
