Benny Voncken Bio:
"I'm from the Netherlands, but I have lived abroad for almost 14 years. Among these 7 years in Spain, 5 years in Dubai, and for the last two years I've been traveling mainly through the Americas. For over a year now I have been house and pet-sitting in several places, since that helps me stay within budget and help people be more relaxed as they travel.
One of my mottos of life that helped me make the decision to quit my job two years ago, was: "I don't want to have to work, but I want to create the freedom of time and location to pursue my passion and help as many people along the way." I never expected philosophy to become my passion, but here I am. haha. It took this role in my life because it has helped me overcome several obstacles, such as a break-up, health issues, and dealing with the bigger question of what I want to do with life. It has also made me choose myself first, instead of pleasing others. This allowed me to extract more of my potential and in the process has amplified my reach to inspire others.
Stoicism has a bad reputation and it is slowly becoming more popular in certain demographics, mainly men. But here it gives people the wrong image of being detached from emotions and becoming more of a robot. While the real Stoicism falls more into the corner of Buddhism and Taoism."
