Dr. Jefferies teaches critical approaches to education by taking groups of students on global service-learning experiences to Latin American countries. First-generation, Latinx students apply course concepts to their interactions with community-based organizations on study-abroad trips. Through these experiences, they gain greater self-awareness, increase their sense of belonging to the campus and gain insight into the needs of diverse communities.
Dr. Jefferries leads students on global-service learning trips to Guadalajara & Puerto Rico.
