Dr. Bill Schlinder goes “back in time” to research ancestral dietary approaches that create the safest most nourishing food possible. He is a primitive technologist who is trained as an archaeologist and anthropologist. He was on National Geographic, a show called “The Great Human Race” where he survived in the harshest locations ever occupied by ancient humans using only the tools available to man during a certain chapter of history.
He’s the owner of the Modern Stone Age Food Kitchen, a one of its kind restaurant where no two ingredients are put together outside of its doors. He’s also a hunter, forager, chef, world researcher, an explorer, educator and author of Eat Like a Human.
In this episode, we dive into how do we know what we ate ancestrally (?), oxalates, food processing, how to make food as nourishing as possible for ourselves and the community, his recent trip to Sardegna, Italy, and what it means to connect with your food. I love talking to Dr. Bill and experiencing his love for his work!
