I was lucky enough to visit Chris in the Up Bank offices and I quickly understood what he meant by the line “culture is expensive”. He doesn’t just mean fancy offices and a great coffee machine (which they do have), but it's clear that a culture requires real investment, and a deliberate focus from leadership.
