It felt strange asking Peter van Noorden, aka my dad, to join me on a podcast, but I knew it would be worth it as his views on talent and working with great people have greatly shaped mine. Peter was the Managing Director of Oxford University Press in Australia, a post that he held for over 10 years, and a place where he could drive a lot of change and hire a lot of great people.
Peter's has always found a way to be incredibly passionate about the work he's doing, and encourages others to find a career where it's easy to be passionate about your work. I asked him to join me on this podcast to explore that focus on passion further, as well as to understand that clear message to “hire great people and get out of their way” that's always ringing in my head.
