In this quick solo episode of the HNL Movement Podcast, Andrew dives into a crucial yet often overlooked concept: you can’t undo how your body responds to training. Once you’ve pushed past your body’s capacity, no amount of recovery tools—massage guns, cold plunges, compression sleeves—can erase the effects of excessive training. Whether it’s extreme fatigue, soreness, tightness, or injury, these responses are the result of doing too much, too soon, and too often.
Andrew uses a powerful analogy—training is like cooking. Once you add too much of something, you can’t take it out. You now have to deal with what’s already in the system. The same goes for training volume and intensity. Rather than trying to fix mistakes after the fact, it’s far more effective to design your training with the right “dose” from the beginning. This episode is a reminder to be intentional with how you train and to respect your body’s need for balance between stress and recovery.
Tune in for a grounded, honest message about why smart programming will always beat reactive recovery. If you're chasing long-term progress, this short episode delivers a perspective that will help you train smarter and avoid setbacks. Enjoy the episode!
