(00:01):
On this episode, 3 practical steps to bring spirituality and
faith into everyday life. This is the Holistic Alpha Male
Optimization Podcast where we help you unleash your true power
as a man. Hey guys, welcome back to the

(00:24):
show. I'm Stephen Mathis.
Thanks for being here with me. Thanks for sharing a little
little bit of little slice of your journey on earth with me.
At least here in this moment. Let's talk about spirituality
and faith. Those are words that mean very
different things to different people.
They of course, cover a lot of ground with those two words.

(00:46):
I think for the purpose of this video, in this moment and the
way that I would describe it is really in a lot of ways those
both describe the same thing, which is connecting to that.
Something that is deeper within us, that is bigger than us, and
connecting with it in a way thatbrings us peace, that brings us

(01:07):
productivity, that brings us joyand passion and love and healthy
relationships and all of those things, spirituality and faith.
Ultimately, we can talk about ideas around that, but where the
rubber meets the road is actually putting those ideas
into creating those outcomes in our life.

(01:27):
And my experience has been that there are three things, 3 easy
steps that are very practical, that actually bring this stuff
to earth, that bring it into daily practice.
Let's run through those quickly together.
And it is going to be quick because it's not complex.
It's about putting it into practice.
They are easy. The first thing is ground into

(01:50):
your body, your breath and your beliefs.
Your body, your breath and your beliefs.
Ground into those. That can be as simple as you
take 1 deep breath. You feel into that breath, you
feel into the weight of your feet on the ground or your butt
on the chair as you do it and asyou do it, you connect with a
little bit of a thought around your belief system, belief in

(02:13):
the universe, in God, whatever feels good to you around that
right ground into your body, your breath, and your beliefs.
Step one, Step 2, is to stay open and to come back to a place
of openness intentionally because we don't need to to have
faith. For example, if we're going to

(02:34):
have faith in an outcome, we really don't need to get all
locked in on this specific outcome as much as what we
actually need to do is stay opento outcomes and then show up
moment by moment along the way in the best way that we can with
our ideal outcome, preferred outcome, having been planned out

(02:58):
and strategize, right. How can I show up moment to
moment on this journey as we do that?
And that can be our life, a specific project, whatever it
is. But once we kind of do that, we
don't need to stay locked in on this vision necessarily moment
to moment. Because you can't be thinking
about the big vision of something and be in the nitty
gritty of working on at the sametime.

(03:19):
It's not really how a brain works, right?
So yes, it is very beneficial toconnect with that big vision on
a regular basis. But moment to moment, we want to
just stay open, right? Don't get locked into worrying
about negative outcomes. Don't get locked into expecting
and getting attached to particular positive outcomes.
Stay open. That's Step 2.

(03:40):
Step three, also very, very easy, is just be ready and
willing to show up moment by moment and make a decision to do
that. Make a decision right now that
number one, I'm going to show upin this moment right now and #2
I'm going to show up to the coming moments in my life in the
best way that I can in that moment.

(04:01):
Those three steps. If we ground into our body and
our breath, that is so importantbecause we we cannot access the
fullness of our life force if weare not connected with our
physical connection to that lifeforce, which is our body.
It's our senses. It's a being right now, not

(04:23):
spinning off in our head some other place or some other time.
It's being right now that's where we love the deepest.
That's where we're the most aware.
That's where we're the most present.
And we can bring that kind of fire of presence to each moment,
to each interaction. It's being embodied in this
moment right now. So again, step one to actually

(04:44):
bring spirituality and faith into everyday practice in your
life is to ground into your bodyyour breath and your beliefs.
Take a breath or two. Ground into your body, your
breath, and your belief in God or the universe or whatever your
faith system is. It can be very, very quick.
Very quick. Especially as you practice this.

(05:06):
It can become a pattern, a really, really beautiful
pattern. Step 2 is to stay open.
Just decide right now to be opento whatever the coming moments
bring and know that in that openness, whatever is meant to
come will come. Step 3 is to be ready and
willing right now to show up to this moment, to show up to the

(05:29):
moment, not to like resist it orshirk away from it, but to
actually show up to the moment right now and commit to do that
as you go forward. If we can do those three steps,
which can all be done like in aninstant really, or very, very
quickly, over and over and over again throughout the day, the
more often we do that, the more we're literally embodying faith.

(05:52):
We are embodying spirituality because we are getting in touch
with that on an energetic and physical level.
We're getting in touch with it on a mental and emotional level,
and we're literally being that, right?
We're being our spirit when we're embodied within ourselves
instead of being off in some other place and some other time.

(06:12):
We're embodying our spirit and our self right now.
When we stay open, when we have a commitment to showing up to
the moment, we embody faith. That's what faith is, right?
It can be labeled more specifically.
And yes, you can link your belief system into that,

(06:34):
absolutely. And it can be around a specific
thing or it can be just general faith, right?
But really what that is, is it'sstaying open and it's being
willing to say, you know what? I'm going to show up to what
that moment is, whatever this part of life brings, whatever
this next step is, whatever the rest of the journey overall

(06:54):
brings, all the different layersand sort of levels of
granularity that that covers. That's what it's about South
practice these three steps. I would love to hear your
feedback. I know that these are topics
that mean different things to different people and they land,
you know, these words, these ideas might land with you in who
knows what way. They're going to land with you

(07:15):
in a unique way for you, which is great.
So I'd love to hear your thoughts, your feedback.
