Listen to Patricia Pearce experiences. Patricia was born into a Christian religion, and who later became a presbyterian minister, leading her own ministry at Tabernacle United in Philadelphia. Until a close friend died, she was led through several synchronicities into a new understanding about her spiritual beliefs about Jesus and her work as a minister and her own work in the church. She resigned from her position and now leads a life with a new understanding about what Jesus 's life and teachings are really supposed to do. She says she downloads information from spirit and is told his work had to do with helping us understand what our own abilities were about, and how far we take them, not about how to make him into a far off spiritual icon, that we can't relate to, and abandon our own spiritual development. We will speak about her encounters with other spiritual masters of today, and how our views of spirituality are changing and expanding, so that even science is coming to understand spirituality through quantum physics, and much more.
Guest Bio: Patrice Pearce is from Denver, Colorado. She has a BA in International Affairs and German, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa (University of Colorado), BA in Music, Masters in Education, and a certification in Reiki 3. She has served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Andes of Ecuador. It was there that the vision of doing some sort of ministry came to her. After she returned to the US, she enrolled in the San Francisco Theological Seminary received her Master in Divinity and became an ordained Presbyterian minister. She and husband moved to Philadelphia so she could accept a position as pastor of Tabernacle United and was there for the next 17 yrs. In 2001 Patricia lost a very close friend which opened the door for a profound spiritual awakening. She resigned her position as a pastor in 2010 and was inspired to write a book and part memoir called Beyond Jesus about how ego consciousness not consciousness has shaped Christian belief in the wrong direction. This new mission led her to healing actions/community engagement, and since then has been involved in several peace and justice movements such as: helping refugees fleeing the wars in Central America, serving as a rape crisis counselor, helping found a Habitat for Humanity chapter, serving on the board of an addiction recovery community and serving a week in federal prison for engaging in nonviolent civil disobedience in response to the 2003 US invasion of Iraq. She serves on the board of three nonprofits: ArtWell, for underserved youth in Philadelphia; the Center for Contemporary Mysticism, which features programs by leading voices in spirituality, mysticism, and consciousness, and the Climate Restoration Safety and Governance Board, which provides oversight and accountability for climate restoration projects.
