Let's check out today'shighlights.

This reflective thinkingprocess is sure to assist you in
determining, setting andachieving your goals this new

(00:44):
year.
My free gift to you as a way ofcheering you on Happy New Year.
As we enter a new year, I enjoysitting around with my family
and talking about things we wantto do in the new year.
Sometimes it's travelingsomewhere or learning something
new.
Other times it's goals we wantto reach or even improvements we
want to make.
I realize, though, that noteveryone has clarity on what's

(01:06):
next.
I've sure come across thosetimes before where I wonder is
this season done in my life, orwhich path should I take?
I so badly want to be in thecenter of God's will today.
So that I can be in the centerof God's will tomorrow.
I've recently been at suchcrossroads, as I shared a few
episodes ago.
Our family went through quite asummer last year as my dad had

(01:27):
a T-cell transplant in the fightagainst his cancer, and I came
to a discouraging point where Iwas wondering if I should stop
doing the podcast and speakingand even doing social media.
You name it as embarrassing asit feels, to admit, I think I
lost a sense of hope for onereason or another.
Perhaps you can relate.
So what can we do when we hitsuch point and long for clarity

(01:50):
in the direction of that nextstep?
Well, few things I'd recommendto you.
First of all, pray.
Have we talked to God about itas much as we've talked with
others about it?
Two, be in God's word, whetherit be through a topic Bible
study, using a daily devotion oropening up the Bible and
seeking scripture related to ourdeliver.

(02:12):
Prayer is often us talking toGod, whereas reading the word of
God is often him speaking to us.
Three, seek support.
Gather your prayer warriors, your besties, your mentor,
whomever is your confidant andaccountability partner, and
share with them what's going on.
They can provide prayer, support, words of wisdom and, if

(02:32):
nothing else.
Just sit with you as they are, that listening ear in that safe
space.
Four utilize resources.
Now, while speaking to one ofmy confidants, they reminded me
there's this book out there youshould read, called Facelift
Embracing Hope Through yourHeartaches.
They thought they were prettyhilarious, but they also got the
point across.

(02:53):
Now, I wasn't going throughheartache, but I sure needed a
reminding of the hope we have inChrist, even when it comes to
decision making.
Needless to say, yes, I didreread my own book, but I also
listened to podcasts and readsome other related books too.
There is strength in learningand growing in areas where we're
lacking.
Five evaluate your passions andyour priorities.

(03:17):
Some use a pros and cons list.
You can even use my free get itdone goal planner on
wwwhollykirbycom.
That might help you walkthrough the process.
Yes, I've had to refer to thatmyself recently too.
And then, finally, be open tothe possibilities.
Don't limit our limitless God.

(03:39):
Now, I fully believe that Godreveals himself to us.
Just as I was ready to throw inthe towel, I had a few
different encouragements reallystand out to me, things I would
refer to as those God moments.
On my summer vacation to Alaskawith my kids.
In 2023, I came across thisjewelry store, dune Now.
I recall trying on thisgorgeous whale tail bracelet and

(04:01):
just completely admiring itsbeauty before I returned it to
its display.
As I learned more about thecompany and their corporate
social responsibility, I wasinspired.
I knew I wanted to help sharetheir story with others.
So fast forward, and justbefore Christmas in 2024, I had
the pleasure of interviewingtheir founder, holly Christensen
Daniels.
Now she is inspiring and caringand such a talented woman.

(04:25):
I felt even more in awe of thiscompany and I look forward to
learning more from them too.
Well, christmas Eve, take a wildguess what gift I received in
the mail and opened up thatwhale tail bracelet.
That is not just anotherbracelet to me, my friends, but
it's a reminder that God's gotme that he has, is and will

(04:47):
continue to use this podcast.
I fell before him in completehumility that night for
questioning what he was doingand I just thanked him for this
physical reminder of I'm exactlywhere I need to be Now.
That same week, I received anemail from a traditional
publisher.
A week later, we had a nearhour-long phone call where she

(05:09):
shared with me her desire tobring me on for another book
deal, but that the publisherwanted to see me reach a half a
million followers across all myplatforms that's podcasts,
social media, email list.
I just kind of laughed andthought impossible.
But then I realized I wasclosing a door before even

(05:31):
praying about where God wantedme to be.
You know, so often we can closethose doors that perhaps God is
opening for us, whether it bedue to fear, whether a failure
of being judged or what peoplewill say not being good enough,
or even the courage needed totake that first step, or maybe
due to insecurities, unknowns, simply losing faith in ourselves

(05:55):
or our abilities.
Maybe it's listening to othersyou know the naysayers, or those
who might not have supportteams around them to encourage
them and cheer them on, so theyeven listen to the voice in
their own head telling them thatit's not going to work.
Or many settle for what'seasiest, most comfortable, even

(06:15):
familiar, and, of course, formany of us, we simply just don't
know what to do next.
Well, as Nelson Mandela said, may your choices reflect your
hopes, not your fears.
So, my friend, just as I seekout in 2025 to be open to the
possibilities of what God isdoing, where he's leading me,

(06:37):
through the podcast or speaking, even if there is to be another
book.
Can I tell you how terrifiedthat makes me.
I pray that you too will beopen to where he leads.
May we obediently go Now.
I'd encourage you to, today, look at three things.
One, what was your biggestaccomplishment from last year,

(07:02):
the thing that you're most proudof?
Two, what do you want toaccomplish this next year and
this might not come to you rightaway, you might have to think
about this one a little bit.
But then three, what are yougoing to start doing today to
get there For me?
I'm going to speak it out loudand ask for help in the

(07:25):
following First off, would youplease go to hollykirbycom and
join my monthly email?
Second, would you follow me?
That sounds so weird to evensay or ask, but would you follow
me on Instagram, holly Kirby,or on Facebook at Holly's
Highlights?
These are both of my publicaccounts.
And third, next, to ask is abit more involved.

(07:47):
If you know of anyone seeking aspeaker, business, nonprofit
churches, schools or evensomeone you think might enjoy a
good read of Facelift EmbracingHope Through your Heartaches
would you consider referring me?
Just send them to my website, hollykirbycom, and or suggesting
facelift the book availablethrough all local bookstores and
online retailers such as Amazon, target, walmart and even

(08:09):
Barnes Noble.
Thank you, my friend.
As I take that first step intothe unknown, please know I'm
here cheering you on in your ownsteps too.
We can do scary things.
My friends.
As CS Lewis said, you are nevertoo old to set a new goal or to
dream a new dream.
So no excuses, my friend, takethat first step today.

(08:31):
Happy New Year and Happy Newyou.
Thank you for joining me onthis journey of life.
I hope that today's highlighthas been encouraging, inspiring
and equipping so you can go outand live your life full of
purpose.
