When the 2020 pandemic hit, the governor of Minnesota announced the closure of all restaurants in our state. Luke Derheim and their team at Craft and Crew Hospitality own a handful of restaurants in the St. Paul/Minneapolis area, so this news was devastating. The governor’s announcement forced their business into a position to make many quick difficult (Team) decisions for their restaurants.  The most challenging of all these decisions was, “What can we do to keep our business running, and successful, when indoor dining is officially closed, state-wide?”

Luke and other team leaders huddled together with their team to “Run the Bases” and begin brainstorming solutions to this incredible new set of challenges.  The knowledge of the Homerun 4 step scientific team decision-making process helped them develop Homerun Solutions and Plans!  And they were hugely successful, while other restaurants never recovered and closed. One solution they brainstormed and developed was a meal pick-up service option for each of their restaurants, and now, 2 years later, feature nearly 30% of their business proceeds are still based on carry-out meals.
