Homespun is an exploration of all the ways we create the best home life we can. We look at the home as the central focus for ourselves and our families and how we can use it to foster safety and health for our families. I can not narrow down the topics any more than I can narrow down the personalities of my children! All topics related to building a thriving homelife will be explored from home education to gardening to home remedies to homesteading to how to nervous system regulation, calming ourselves down and staying grounded in our lives.
This episode is near and dear to my heart. I loved my first conversation with Shiloh Minor so very much I had to have her back, and in truth I think this conversation was even better.
Polarity is a super hot topic in the dating world - but what about once we commit to our partner? What then? How do we maintain the ease we found while dating once we live together, have children together, are truly building a life together? These are...
Welcome back! In this episode I look at the benefits and sacrifices (they all come up as benefits in the end as I see them!) of our homeschooling journey. Homeschooling is a wonderful privilege our family enjoys, and it is not without it's drawbacks. The truth is the chauffeuring, the financial differences, the time commitment in general, these are all real and often down played - but they are so worth it!
Listen in and see how ...
I, personally, dislike the term self care - I feel it is often just one more things added to the to do list. In this episode Butch Phelps walks us through how he went from overweight and divorced to married to his best friend, in great shape and feeling better than ever. He really took the time to cultivate a life of his dreams.
Butch really likes to show everyone that to really take care of ourselves, to do anything really, we need...
In this episode I outline the 5 reasons why we have chosen to start and continue homeschooling our 4 children. The main reasons are more lifestyle and less academic, and I forgot one of the main ones: fostering relationships between our children, how could I forget that?!?
Listen in for some real reasons why it works for us and watch for a follow up episode about what I see as benefits and sacrifices we've chosen and found along...
Entrepreneur and author Miles Spencer and I sat down and had a wonderful discussion full of vivid stories inspired by his latest book, A Line in the Sand, which he co-authored with Wells Jones. The book is an adventure saga set against the back drop of the MIddle East. The inspiration came from a real life trip Miles and Wells took where they were in with the people of various regions of the Middle East and were able to stay with t...
This episode is about a topic that is near and dear to my heart. Intuition has always been something that guided me, I have had a weakened connection to my intuition at times but it was always there, like a really good friend.
In this episode I walk you through why I think intuition is such a key factor in how we move through our day, why I trust it with big decisions and how important I think it is to show our children to use it.

In this episode I was joined by Mark Miler, a husband, father, grandfather and passionate advocate for clean water for all.
We started our conversation by exploring Mark's upbringing and how he raised his children and he shared with me the things he thinks he got right, the things he wishes he had done differently and the things he wants others to know. It was a great persepctive of a man who has been married for 54 years and raise...
In this solo episode I explore what the comparison trap - the need to compare ourselves to others and find fault with our lives or be envious of others, really is and how we can resist it.
Tune in to hear what I believe the underlying cause is and how I try and combat it, and my hopes and dreams for myself in continuing to try and stay in my own lane as I build the home life I want for my children.

This episode was magic to me! Marjory was a very successful entrepreneur in real estate with a massive portfolio, she even worked with Rich Dad, Poor Dad Robert Kiyosaki. Then she had a life changing moment at the local community centre while working on a food project where a group of people were trying to get local food in the schools. It hit Marjory how few local farms there were and how little nutrients really surrounded her. ...
I'm back! It's been a minute.
In this episode I wanted to break down why I took a month off (family medical emergency and needing some space to heal as a family) and what I learned in that journey.
We get into the 3 areas I felt most compelled to make shifts in myself - expectations, boundaries and blessings- and how those shifts were best for my family and our home life through this healing journey.
Glad to be back frien...

As we move into the holidays, if you are anything like me you are wondering how much 'stuff' you really need to bring into your home.
