Have you ever been sideswiped by life circumstances that left you thinking, “WTF is happening?” Those moments when everything seems to be falling apart might actually be the universe’s way of setting you up for something greater.

In this raw and deeply resonant episode, we dive into how to navigate those disorienting life transitions when nothing makes sense and you’re questioning everything. Drawing from our own experiences with car accidents, family losses, and career upheavals, we share how these apparent catastrophes ultimately redirected us toward more authentic and fulfilling paths.

The magic happens when we stop fighting against what’s falling apart. As Brittney learned during her production days, “Let it fall apart, it’s going to be better.” This counterintuitive wisdom applies to all areas of life—relationships ending, jobs disappearing, plans disintegrating—because what replaces them is almost always an upgrade.

In this conversation, you’ll learn how to:
✨ Give yourself permission to fully feel (yes, even spin out—but with a timer!)
✨ Slow down, pause, and discern what’s actually in your control
✨ Consciously choose to trust the process and let upgrades unfold
✨ Build resiliency that not only carries you forward but allows you to support others through their challenges

Remember: you’ve survived 100% of your difficult days so far. This one is no different. What if instead of asking “Why is this happening to me?” you asked “How is this happening for me?” Your crown might feel crooked right now, but you are divine, capable, and exactly where you need to be.

👉 Ready for your own upgrade?
Join us January 26–30, 2026, in Puerto Vallarta for The Goddess Experience, a luxury retreat for women who are done settling and ready to rise. This is where you stop just surviving WTF moments and start embodying your throne.

Over five days, you’ll be nourished with high-vibration meals, guided through deep release work and sensual embodiment, and surrounded by a powerful sisterhood. This isn’t just a getaway—it’s an initiation into the woman you know you’re meant to be.

Spaces are limited, and the portal is open now. If your body lights up reading this, trust it. Say yes to the version of you who always upgrades.

yeah, yeah, I, I did everything,perfectly obviously.

Lisset (01:52):
I have not made one mistake, not one.

Goddess Brittney (01:54):
Yeah, yeah but yeah, no, but like I mean, it
can be a really challengingexperience, like we just and we
have both fucking been in it-yeah.
And like up against our shitand you're just like, literally,
like I feel sideswiped by theuniverse, like, oh yeah, well,

(02:16):
we'll get into it, I'll tell mystory.
But like a story I was like, but I've been in it and you're
just like universe, what isgoing?

Lisset (02:24):
on and it's like sit, I've been in it and you're just
like universe, what is going on?
And it's like sit a littlelonger in it.
You're like what?
No, but I'm pruning yeah.

Goddess Brittney (02:31):
I know, I know that feeling.

Lisset (02:33):
Been there.

Goddess Brittney (02:34):
Uh-huh.

Lisset (02:35):

claim her throne.

(03:02):
Remember who the fuck she isand own it.
We are going to spoil you fromhead to toe with high class
luxury, incredible highvibration food, the mastery
stylings of Lissette doingrelease work me doing embodiment
work.
Incredible people like y'all.
This is a fucking vibe.

(03:23):
This is a fucking vibe.
I feel so honored that we getto serve in this place and I
know the best because I'm fancylike that.

Lisset (03:32):
And I only like the best .
She loves the best.
I love the best.
I love the best.

Goddess Brittney (03:37):
This, this right here, this is the fucking
best.
I was literally just talking toa friend who went on a retreat
and she was just like I didn'tlearn anything, I didn't grow.
There was all these things thatwere just not in alignment.
I was like girl, come onthrough.

Lisset (03:49):
Yeah, I know.

Goddess Brittney (03:50):
And she was like say less, I'm there, are
you ready?

Lisset (03:54):
Yeah, seriously, this retreat is going to be
absolutely incredible, but we'vegot to help this woman.
Today We've got this epic, epic, and of course, as always, we
have the trained actress, britney, to add a little.
You know, you want a littleflavor up in there.

Goddess Brittney (04:13):
I will add flavor, okay, okay hi ladies,
can you talk about what happenswhen you think you're on the
right track, like you've beendoing the work aligned, making
progress and progress, and thenbam, something wild happens.
Like that feels like a totalsetback.
It's like the universe justcomes in with a plot twist you
did not see coming.

(04:35):
I'm trying to figure out isthis a failure, or is it
actually a blessing in disguise?
Is it a reset or a redirection?
Right now I'm in thatuncomfortable middle space,
rethinking a lot, sinning withuncertainty and doing my best to
trust that something better iscoming, but I can't see anything

(04:57):
yet.
I would love if you could speakinto this and how to navigate
those what-the-fuck-just fuckjust happened moments without
spiraling.
Thank you, wtf.
Yeah, all right WTF, I feel you,I see you.
I hope you loved my soulfulrendition of you.

Lisset (05:15):
Absolutely, I think.
First of all, what's wrong withspinning out?
Just spin, like set a timer?
Yeah, maybe five, maybe 10years, no, just five, maybe five
, ten minutes.
I like to do one song.
That's.
That's a song.

(05:35):
Okay, five minutes, it's a good.
It's a good song ten minutes islike a jimmy hendrix song yeah,
I know, I know, but like, depending on the catastrophe,
that's's true, sometimes youneed 10.
Sometimes you need 10.
So I'm like what level of whatthe fuck happened to this person
?
So I'm saying five, 10 minutesand you let yourself spin.
You spin like a little top andyou just go crazy and you go

(05:57):
wild up in there and put it onpaper, drop it, sell it, let the
paper have every single one ofyour fears and lay it down and
sit in it because the worst casescenario in your mind is never
going to happen.

(06:18):
So just get it out and you'relike, well, can't be that.
And then light that shit onfire.
Light it on fire, let yourselfspin.
So just, I think step oneaccept it Like.
That's part of that acceptanceof like just let yourself spin,
because that's the first naturalreaction.

Goddess Brittney (06:36):
So first you need to spin out, that's okay.
Okay, what if nothing's wrong?
And then two, you stop it.

Lisset (06:46):
Stop it, stop spinning, stop spinning.

Goddess Brittney (06:49):
Uh-huh, and you decide to trust the universe
.
You decide to trust theuniverse, you make a decision of
I'm going to you make adecision that I'm going to trust
that everything is happeningfor us.
You just maybe heard my dogsstarting to drink water.
We paused for the other dog todrink water and then, as soon as

(07:12):
I started talking, a differentdraw started drinking water.
And you know what I'm going todo I am going to trust that the
universe goes.
Hey, I'm lining things up foryou, I'm giving it to you
Absolutely.

Lisset (07:26):
And one of the things that like thank you for saying
trust the universe, even if Ican step it back even before,
that is like okay, stop spinningout.

Goddess Brittney (07:36):
Yes, definitely.

Lisset (07:37):
But slow down, pause and assess Like is this in my
control and can I do anythingabout it?
If so, what can you do about it?
And if it is a true in theessence of a, what the fuck
moment and you can't do anythingabout it, just stop, reflect

(08:01):
and go.
What is the learning in thisfor me, what is the highest
wisdom in this for me?
And then I think that goes intoTrust the universe.

Goddess Brittney (08:12):
Yeah, did I skip to the end?
Yeah, well, I start there withtrust the universe, because
that's where I've been.
But I had this experienceworking in production and I
produced my own web series.
You can find it on YouTube.
It's called Not Fucking AroundCrew.
I think it's all one word.
It's very funny.
Yes, without a G Not fuckingaround, not fucking around.

(08:34):
No G, no G, because I'mhardcore.

Lisset (08:38):
Crew.

Goddess Brittney (08:39):
And it was, I mean, like I at the time.
I had been kept wanting to goout for acting roles.
I kept getting cast as aprostitute.
I was like I want to roll withclothes and lines.
I went to conservator in London, don't you know?

Lisset (08:53):
I know Shakespeare, you know um, can we use pause for a
second?

Goddess Brittney (08:56):
you kept getting cast as a prostitute,
like specifically specifically,I'm on masters of sex, mad men,
some guy's student film, all ofthem prostitutes, all of them.

Lisset (09:10):
Oh my gosh.
Yeah Well, we need to have amovie night about prostitutes.

Goddess Brittney (09:15):
I guess Prostitute Brit, they're all
short seats, but anyway, still,I was like, okay, I'm going to
make my own thing and I was myown.
This was the entire productionteam, this was the producer,
this was the thing.
I found people to volunteer andhelp me and all this shit and
blessings to all these peoplewho helped me pull this thing

(09:36):
together.
But shit would go wrong all thetime.
Oh, the actor you hired is nolonger available.
So-and-so missed their train.
We thought this place acceptedcash.
They don't accept cash.
This thing is happening.
That thing is happening.
And what I realized in what youget ingrained in you in
production is like just leave it.
Whatever is falling apart, letit.

(09:57):
Let it fall apart, it's goingto be better.
And then when I worked atBuzzfeed, that was very
indoctrinated.
It was just like stop trying tofix the thing that's not
working, just let it not workand decide.
Whatever it is is going to bebetter and we're going to find a
better solution than what theoriginal thing that we thought
was we needed to do or was goingto work was going to be the
thing.
And so what if this is yourlife, school opportunity?

(10:21):
Mine was in production where itwas just like, day after day
hey, this plan you thought youwere doing.
We're building this set.
Nope, it's not working that wayanymore.
We gotta do something different, and every time it would end up
better than what we thought.
Every time it would end upbetter than what we originally
had planned or expected, my webseries included.
So that was my life initiationin that beginning to start to

(10:46):
trust the universe and trustthat everything is working out
better than I thought it wasgoing to work out yeah, church
testify.

Lisset (10:58):
um, I will share, you know, my.
I've had many, as you know, butI have a series of car
accidents and a series of caraccidents that kept happening.
They weren't happening to me,they were happening through me.
And what kept happening is thatI wasn't getting the fucking

(11:24):
message, like I was living inthis trance and I was living in
this way.
That was not working for me.
I was working in a dead-end job.
I worked at Guitar Center and Iwas absolutely just drinking
every night, partying like arock star.
I wasn't.
I was selling instruments tothem.
I wasn't actually a rock star,but I thought I was entitled to

(11:45):
the lifestyle for some reason.
And I had these series of caraccidents, one of them when I
was bartending, and the biggestone that happened was at.
It was toward the end of mycareer at Guitar Center and I
was driving home from a show andI made a left hand turn.
this other and this car t-bonedme and it like and this car
t-boned me and it like the waymy car smashed and crumbled,

(12:09):
like a second sooner or a secondlater I would not be here today
.
No, like legit my Shayla Legit, and the thing was that was the
one that turned on the lights.
That was my what the fuckmoment that turned things on and
I was like wait a second, Ithink I should do something
about this life.
And I remember laying in bedand just like the true essence

(12:33):
of what the fuck and like wow, Ithink I might be here for
something bigger.
You know, I was carless, broke, like all the things, but I just
didn't even care about that.
There was this deep moment ofsurrender and in that moment of
letting it all go and just beinglike this is not the life for

(12:54):
me, I embarked on a new life andI embarked on waking up and
turning on the lights and seeingthat I had a choice.
As I was laying there and Ineeded to, wanted to understand
what it was, I just realizedthat there was no answer.
There was no answer except thepath I was going in was not it

(13:20):
and that was the ultimate, thisain't it.
And as I discovered personaldevelopment, and I discovered
like, oh, your mind creates yourreality, there was a.
I realized that if my mindcreates my reality, what reality
do I want to live in?

Goddess Brittney (13:40):
And I started living in this reality that,
like I always upgrade.

Lisset (13:43):
Yes, write that down and I always upgrade happened time
and time again.
I would literally lose my job, like I was working with my
brother and he had to lay me off.
And on that day he's he's like, hey, let me take you to a beer,
gotta fire you.
And I was like, okay, and Idrank my beer and I and it was.
It's in those moments that Istarted to just be like my life

(14:06):
is shifting, I'm jumpingtimelines, I'm upgrading.
I just can't see it in thismoment.

Goddess Brittney (14:11):
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
And it's one thing the Kingsknow it is fucking reality
creation.
And we will get scared becausewe're like, oh my God,
everything that I know iscrumbling.
Maybe shit is blowing up atwork or in your family life or
in your relationship, and you'relike, oh my God, the walls are

(14:32):
literally disappearing, they'regoing away.
What does this mean?
What is happening?
And this must mean danger, orI'm unsafe and I'm like what if
it's everything going right andthis is the way that everything
goes right?
You know, sometimes theuniverse needs to send a tornado
to grab your ass and drop youon that golden brick road.
You know, like, sometimes, likethat energy of just like the

(14:56):
shifting winds is a powerfulforce, and so it's like, can you
trust that you are in thatpowerful force?
And so, just like a real life, practical thing, you're like,
how can I survive the what thefuck moments without the
spinning out like blessingsaside of, like honoring, like yo
, if you're gonna fucking crashout, like, just let it happen in

(15:18):
a container, yeah, in a timecontainer and a physical
container with support.
Yeah, let's not be destructive.
Let's make a container and thenmake a conscious choice of like
okay, I'm moving on, but I havenoticed, not but, and I have
noticed for ourselves that wehave had experiences where
there's less crash out and Ithink it's because we've been

(15:39):
doing nervous system regulationand so we go.
Huh, I guess this is happeningfor me, you know, and like your
brother with the beard, it'slike oh well, I mean I guess I'm
getting something new that'sbetter.
And we stop freaking out aboutwhat we're quote unquote losing.
We're like oh, I guess I'mgetting upgrades.

(16:00):
Love an upgrade.
Upgrade like first classUpgrade, like you come to your
dinner Upgrade.

Lisset (16:06):
Upgrade like a new career dinner upgrade.
Upgrade like a new careerupgrade like a new partner.
You know, like I, I've satthrough many um heartbreaks and
breakups that I thought weregoing to fucking end me.
You know, like homeless laid onmy girl lynn's bed with her
three cats for a while and justthought it was the end and it

(16:33):
was always for me, but I'd bebawling my eyes out.
I always upgrade.

Goddess Brittney (16:37):
I always upgrade.
I don't know what it is.
And I did and we do and wechoose that reality where we do.
So it's an invitation to trustthat this is happening for you
and asking yourself what's thelesson for me to learn, what's
the knowledge for me to get fromthis experience that is going

(16:58):
to support me?
Because sometimes we just don'teven know where that wisdom is
going to come in, where thatwisdom is going to come in.
But when we're on the other side, we're like, oh, oh, thank God,
you know, wow, this was better.
Oh my God, I left thatrelationship that was terrible,
where that person was mediocreand possibly hitting me or
abusive and all these otherthings, and now I'm happy in a

(17:20):
different relationship, okay, well, wherever I was going with
that point, I hope you got it.
We had a technical difficulty, but I'm gonna trust that the
point was made and that everyonewho needed something from that
story got something from thatstory.
But I just there's anopportunity that we each get to

(17:47):
build this resiliency and thismuscle of trusting that
everything is going to be okay.
And like have you ever hung outwith old people?
They are very much Okay, they're very much just like oh,
it's fine, you know what I mean.
Like, it's just like.
Oh, we were watching the showParadise.

(18:07):
I don't want to give too muchaway.
Oh man, I'll take it back.
Okay, well, we were watchingsomething and in it seems like
the world is ending and thisolder character is unfazed by it
and he's like well, I've seenall sorts of things happen and
they always say it's the end ofthe world.
I'm still here you know, and sothere's this resiliency of like

(18:30):
I'm still here, you're stillhere, the world still will be
here, and like, can we believein that and trust in that and
being like, okay, so everythingis happening for me, this is
going to be better for me, andtrust and believe of like okay,
and so maybe this is youropportunity where you're just
starting to get those reps oflearning it and then it gets

(18:51):
ingrained and embodied in yourbody, the reason we can share
stories of our own experiencesof car crashes or rapes or, you
know, investing with people andall these different experiences
where we're just like oh, we'velived life and we just know like
, when you leap off a cliff, youget wings.
I just know it.
It happens every time and I'velived through it many, many

(19:13):
times and I've watched clientsgo through it many, many times
and I've walked people throughit many, many times and
sometimes it's your firstfucking time at the edge of that
cliff.
And you're just like, are youguys sure?

Lisset (19:24):
And we're like yeah, yeah, you're going to get there
and part of the the turmoilbuilds your character and not
saying I'm just gonna build yourcharacter.
It's like literally everysingle one of those events when
we were going through them feltterrible and I'm not denying
that.
I'm not denying the.
What the fuckness of it?

(19:45):
It's the.
When you get out the other side, there are innumerable lessons
and there's innumerable likethis resiliency that you can't
buy.
You can't read it in a book.

Goddess Brittney (19:58):
Yeah, I had an experience where my grandfather
passed and he left me and mysisters, his house, his son was
the executor of the estate andtoo long didn't read.
My uncle was not wanting togive us the money.
That was our inheritance and soI had to be with that and I was

(20:22):
like what is happening?
Like I'm having I had myfucking crash out.
I was like, oh, scared, andthen I was just like what is
happening?
Like I'm having I had myfucking crash out.
I was like, oh, scared, and thenI was just like what was being
asked of me was to stand up formyself and advocate for myself
and advocate for my little girlthe little girl who had been
molested by that grandfather, the little girl who had held her
mouth and not said anything foryears and years and years,

(20:44):
trying to keep the peace andpeople please, and all these
things.
And I was just like no, there'sno more fucking taking, no more
taking.
And so I rose to theopportunity to resolve that and
it turned out to be through thelegal system.
That was how I chose to resolveit.
But who I became through thatexperience where I thought, wtf

(21:04):
is going on, I have to take afamily member to court, like
what's going to happen?
Am I not going to be able totalk to my grandma?
Like all of this over money, like is it worth it?
All of that shit was mebecoming my own champion.
And the way that I am achampion for myself is the way
that I can fucking show up formy clients.
The way I show up for the womenon retreat.
It's the way I show up for myclients the way I show up for

(21:32):
the women on retreat.
It's the way I show up for mywife.

Lisset (21:34):
It's the way I show up in my life because I got access
to those codes through that.
What the fuck moment.
Yeah, oh, Preach, yeah.
Those moments that, the momentsthat we've been through you
know being molested, whatever itis.
I love that you mentioned yourclients.
It's what I feel with mine.
It's like you can't tell me afucked up story.
I've heard a lot of fucked upstories, you know, and every

(21:56):
single one of those people gotto the other side and I know
that healing is possible.
I know you will win andsometimes it helps to just have
someone reflect that to you aswell.
Like you don't have to gothrough this alone, but
sometimes you got to guide, yougot to spoon feed people, what
to tell you.
You're like, hey, I'm going totell you this and for like five

(22:19):
minutes I'm going to need you tojust validate my experience,
and then after that I'm going toremind I do this to Brittany
all the time.
Okay, now, now tell me how it'sall going to work out.

Goddess Brittney (22:28):
Yes.

Lisset (22:30):
Yes Cause you need that too.

Goddess Brittney (22:32):
And it all, and it it always does Newsflash,
it's going to work out it is.
It's going to work out, andsometimes we don't know how it's
going to work out.
Great, that is one fucking lessthing to do.
You don't have to figure outhow it's going to work out.
Just start believing it's goingto work out.
We have a mantra Life alwaysworks out for the Kings and it

(22:52):
always gets better for the Kings.
And time and time again, ourlife works out and things get
better.
I believe that I teach that tomy clients and they have a
resiliency of oh shit, it'sgoing to work out.
It is going to work out.
So can you allow yourself tolean in?
Can you allow yourself to leanin?
Can you allow yourself to trust?
Can you allow yourself to howdid you put it?
Breathe, assess.

Lisset (23:11):
Yeah, slow down pause assess.

Goddess Brittney (23:14):
Yeah, slow down, pause and assess, because
a lot of times when we'respinning out, we're trying to
control something that we can'tcontrol, yeah, and usually the
what the fuck is happening, because we're like we know we
can't control it.
It's bigger than our realm ofcontrol, which is why we're in

(23:34):
the what the fuck.
This is bigger than my realm ofcontrol, and so it's like how
can I surrender to somethingbigger, to something greater, to
something being better than Icould have ever imagined?

Lisset (23:46):
And remember who the fuck you are.
You're divine.
Like we crown straighteningsessions.

Goddess Brittney (23:51):
Yes, that's what we call them now.
Yes.

Lisset (23:53):
You know, sometimes you just need to fucking straighten
your crown, remember who thefuck you are and remember that
you're going to get through thisbecause you always have.
You have survived 100% of thedays you've lived.

Goddess Brittney (24:03):
Yes.
So let's go and like on apractical level like what she
talked about giving yourself acontainer, um, nervous system
regulation we can put someresources for that and then get
support.
Way to ask us for support likekudos on you, but get support.
Is there a mentor in your life?
Is?
Do you have a coach in yourlife who is someone who is

(24:25):
outside of the problem, who canhelp you see through it?
Our clients come to us withtheir experiences because they
know we can see outside of theproblem and I'm like I
understand what you're goingthrough.
I have been there.
But I'm on the outside now and, like you know, breathe, wait,
pause, just stay there.
Go this way you know, do thatthing, but like getting support

(24:48):
and helping you move, or evenremember who you are, or
surrender, or just holding yourhand and letting you know, yeah,
babe, it's going to be okay.
That makes a difference, itreally does.

Lisset (24:59):
It really does, and hopefully we're those voices for
you right now you know youreached out to us.
We're here to tell you you'regoing to fucking make it through
.
You're going to make it throughand make sure that you learn
the lesson.

Goddess Brittney (25:12):
Yes.

Lisset (25:12):
Because the lessons get louder if you don't learn them.
Yes, the car accidents gotworse and worse.

Goddess Brittney (25:18):
The assaults got worse and worse, you know.
Louder and louder.
So when we get the lesson, theuniverse can stop screaming at
us.
And let me just throw this inthere there are some things that
you don't know.
You don't know until you knowthem.
And I had this experience whenmy mom passed and like we didn't

(25:39):
really know and you know, blessher.
She didn't know who to ask.
You know, know, and she was avery private woman.
So it was just like we found awill executor guy.
I don't even know how we foundthis person, but he was shady as
fuck and like it was all thesethings that came out after she
died.
That was like, oh, did you dothis?
Did you do this?
Did you do this?

(26:00):
And I was like I didn't knowany of this.
Yeah, she didn't know any ofthis.
Also, elders in our community.
I was like, did you guys knowany of this?
They said, no, we didn't knowany of this.
And so I was like, okay, I'm,I'm in the unknown.
And there are people who aroundme who were further on the path
, but they also didn't know.
And that's okay.
What can I learn from this nowthat I can support myself in the

(26:23):
future?
And so myself and my wife, wehave wills.

Lisset (26:27):
They're tight.
Yeah, we have a trust.

Goddess Brittney (26:30):
We have found care, we have life insurance.
There are things that I didn'tknow until I did know them and I
was able to get the wisdom.
So sometimes things arehappening on repeat.
Look at that, sometimessomething happening for the
first time and it might besomething that's for you further
on your path and you just don'tknow what it is yet.

(26:50):
And so it is preparing you forsomething further down the line
and I had that experience withmy mom.
Like I feel way more prepared.
It has prepared me for being abusiness owner.
It has prepared me to show upfor my family in a certain way,
being a business owner.
It has prepared me to show upfor my family in a certain way.
Yeah, um, and I took thatopportunity to get the lesson

(27:11):
and go okay, okay, and just knowthat that's something that
happens sometimes yeah noparents.

Lisset (27:16):
Losing parents is a what the fuck moment.
Yes, I don't lose my dad.
There was.
There was nothing left for us,you know, and one of the things
that it, that it taught me aswith the whole family scraped
together to pay for the funeral,is just like.
I don't want to leave thatlegacy.
You know, I don't want to leavethe, my next generation without
anything, and bless him.

(27:38):
He did the best he could withthe resources he had, but it's
like you would not have knownthat and I wouldn't have known
that, until we're like, oh shit, this shit, this is what this
looks like, and in those momentsthey feel very what the fuck.
But they're there for you andwhat if everything's happening
for you Cannot repeat thatenough.

Goddess Brittney (27:56):
Everything is happening for you.
Everything's happening for you.
So something I sometimes sit inis just like well, universe,
show me how this is for me.
Show me all the evidence of howthis is getting better.
Show me how it's like.
Show me so like.
Make it abundantly clear.
Yeah, and you will understand.

(28:18):
Yeah.

Lisset (28:19):
Mm-hmm, ah, that's such a good topic.

Goddess Brittney (28:21):
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yeah, I loved it.

Lisset (28:24):
I loved it and whatever you're going through, you're
getting on the other side.

Goddess Brittney (28:28):
Mm-hmm, mm-hmm .
