Hi, we're so glad you made it back for day nine of your
journey with Hope. Today we're going to be working
on integrating our breathing exercises with our body scans
and also about changing our perspective.
OK, let's go ahead and get started in the usual way by
(00:23):
getting yourself comfortable. Start with some nice deep
breaths into the nose and out ofthe mouth.
Notice how the breath affects the body on the inhales.
You're expanding the body, stretching on the exhales,

relaxing, letting go. On the next exhale, let your
eyes become heavy and slowly close and come to that feeling
of weight in the body and feel gravity pushing down.

Bring your focused attention to the breath.
Listen to the sound of the breath again.

No need to change the breath, we're just noticing.
Notice how the body moves when you breathe?

The rise and fall of the chest. How the stomach moves.
And remember, let the shoulders go, keep the face soft,

feel the breath come in through the nose and come all the way
into the lungs. Feel it go out.

Now let go of your focused attention and let your awareness
be free. Allow the body to soften and
allow your awareness to rest. Bring your attention to rest

with this verse. Don't change yourself to be like
the people of this world, but let God change you inside with a

There are so many reasons that you might have started
meditating. Maybe it's a secret struggle
with depression or insecurity, or maybe you're looking for more
peace and happiness in your life.
You may even be feeling a littleaimless or dissatisfied with

your life and might be looking for a deeper purpose.
The good news is that all of those things can be found in God
and hopefully we can help you start a new habit to get you on
that journey. The funny thing about really
(05:06):
getting to know Jesus is that wecome to Him with our plans and
expectations and we're usually pretty certain that we know
best. But as we spend time with Him,
we start to open ourselves up tochange.
(05:28):
We don't seem to mind change like we used to because we start
to see that there is a better way.
As you regularly connect with God, your perspective will begin
to change, maybe without you even noticing.
(05:48):
But eventually you'll look back and see how far you've come.
The circumstances and events of your life may not change, but
your perspective will, even yourperspective of the painful
(06:09):
parts, the disappointments, the heart breaks, the failures.
Your heart will grow to love more and be more empathetic and
understanding, maybe even more thankful.

Most of all, by accepting God's love, you'll increase your
capacity to love. This is all part of the process
of growth and new life, finding purpose in your life as it is
right now. We're only granted the present
(06:56):
moment to live and be thankful. Exploring your relationship with
God and His plans for your life is like peeling back the layers
of an onion. When you think that there's
nothing else to offer, there's always another layer beneath it.

Allow yourself to explore and enjoy each new layer of depth in
this relationship. With each new layer, you'll
learn your true worth, the truest version of the person you
were made to be. You'll find joy and happiness in
(07:44):
areas you never expected before.Living a life of intention with
God allows you to be aware of all of life's gifts.
Allow God's presence and calm tocome with you into your daily
(08:05):
life to discover what you have been missing.
Jesus, help me see the world as you see it.
Help me let go of how I think things should be.

Give my body the restful healingthat it needs.
I want to grow into my true self.
I trust your way. I know deep down inside that you
love me and will always be here with me.

Gently begin to bring your awareness back to the body and
back to that feeling of weight. Notice any sounds in the room,
(09:21):
notice how the body feels and onan inhale slowly open your eyes.
Then sit back in your chair. Give yourself a stretch.
Remember, God is always at work in your life.

You can find joy and blessings in your life right now.
