The creative power of the mind stands at the center of our human experience – a power so profound that it shapes our entire perception of reality. In this eye-opening exploration of A Course in Miracles teachings, we unravel the fundamental distinction between creation and miscreation, revealing how every thought carries energetic force.

What if your thoughts aren't just passive mental activity but active creative expressions? Both creation (love) and miscreation (fear) draw from the same divine wellspring of creative energy, but lead to radically different experiences. When we direct our mind's power toward love, we naturally express patience, kindness, and peace. When misdirected toward fear, we become defensive, judgmental, and conflicted.

The breakthrough insight here isn't about controlling or suppressing thoughts, but recognizing their source and purpose. Those moments of irritation, anxiety, or judgment aren't failings – they're opportunities to witness your creative power in action and redirect it. Instead of feeling guilty about "negative" thoughts, we learn to see them as misdirected energy waiting to be returned to love through the Holy Spirit.

We explore why modern psychological approaches often fall short by attempting to reinterpret or manage mental conflict rather than heal it at its source. True healing doesn't come from analyzing why we feel fear or explaining it away through past experiences. It comes through the present-moment choice to redistribute energy from miscreation back to creation.

This teaching liberates us from both the tyranny of thought-policing and the trap of believing we're powerless over our mental states. The mind's creative power is never diminished – it's only ever misdirected. When we recognize this, we can practice the art of miracle-making: bringing every miscreative thought to the Holy Spirit for transformation.

Speaker 1 (00:03):
Aloha and welcome to our ACIM.
Deep dive Yay, coming to youfrom Ajijic, mexico.
Oh, let's start with a littleprayer.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, mahalo gracias to everyone

(00:27):
joining, joining in the spirit, joining with jesus, to go beyond
these words, to go beyond thischanneling, to see what the deep
meaning is and live this in ourlives, live this in our
thoughts, to decide to bring allthoughts of miscreation to the

(00:48):
truth so that we could be happy,so that we could know and live
god's will for us, which isperfect happiness.
Let us set aside all egothoughts of judgment and guilt
and shame and see the lightbehind these words and the light

(01:09):
that's shining in each of ourhearts and minds.
Hooray and amen.
I love you.
Okay, let's get in.
Let's get into it.
So last week we ended withparagraph 11, sentence 4.

(01:29):
Okay, let me tell you where weare.
For those of you that want tofollow along in the text.
We are in A Course in Miracles, the original handwritten notes
of Helen Shushman.
This is a complete andannotated edition.
It was published June 2021.
And we're on page 98.

(01:50):
We're in chapter 2, section 11,paragraph 11.
And we're starting withsentence 4.
We're on creation andmiscreation.
We're going to get into thistoday.
This is so fun.
So this sentence, paragraph 11,sentence four Energy can

(02:18):
emanate from both creation andmiscreation, and the particular
ratio between them whichprevails at any given point in
time does determine the behaviorat that time.
So this is fun, so let's breakit down.

(02:40):
Energy can emanate from bothcreation and miscreation.
So creation is love, miscreation is fear.
Both are drawing on the mind'spower.
The mind only has creativepower, but these both are
drawing on the mind's inherentcreative power.

(03:01):
So what?
What this means is that evenillusions, even miscreation,
carry energetic force.
And it's not because they'rereal they're never real but
because the mind invents themwith power.
So anything the mind takes asreal, it gives it power, it's

(03:23):
giving it creative power, eventhough it's an illusion.
So it sets it in motion withforce.
So Jesus is insisting here thatnothing the mind makes is
without effects.
Even if the effects areillusory, it's like you believe
them to be true, so they'resuper true to you.

(03:43):
All right?
So energy can emanate from bothcreation and miscreation Next
part of the sentence and theparticular ratio between them.
So at any given moment, yourbehavior is reflecting how much
of the mind's energy is flowingtoward creation versus

(04:07):
miscreation.
Your behavior is reflectingthat.
So if you find yourself actingout in anger or something like
that, you know that you've beenputting energy behind
miscreation.
That's all.
It's not a bad thing, it's justfor you to see.
So the ratio is like a gaugethe more energy directed toward

(04:30):
love, the more your behavior isaligning with peace and healing.
You're going to express aspatient, you're going to express
as kind and loving.
Okay, it depends on this ratio.
And the more energy is given tofear, the more destructive and
defensive.
This is a fun one to watch for.

(04:50):
In myself, I look atdefensiveness.
This is so great, even thesimple thing.
Do you need to explain yourselfwhen someone gets a
misperception about you?
I've had such a fun time withthat, just with perceiving that
someone has a misperceptionabout me and notice the urge to
try to correct them.
And just notice, can I standback and let that correct itself

(05:16):
?
It just kind of like correctsitself on.
There's a stepping back fromthat defensiveness.
So next part of the sentenceEnergy can emanate from both
creation and miscreation and theparticular ratio between them
which prevails at a given pointin time.

(05:39):
So, while time is illusory, within the dream, the balance of
how energy is directed shiftsfrom moment to moment.
There's a balance of how yourenergy is being corrected and
it's always shifting.
So this accounts for thefluctuation.
You know how it's been said, like everyone's kind of bipolar.

(06:04):
Some people are more bipolarthan other people, right, but
it's like sometimes I feel soloving and sometimes I feel so
defensive.
This is why it shifts back andforth like that.
So the fluctuation in humanbehavior, that's the effect of
this Sometimes more loving, sometimes more fearful.
Some of us can shift more thanothers, as you can see.

(06:26):
But you know, what I've noticedis, over time, it just becomes
more loving because yourecognize that you feel better.
You're noticing the contrast.
You're noticing the contrastbetween loving thoughts and
fearful thoughts.
So you're choosing more lovingthoughts and therefore your

(06:47):
behavior is expressing as a moreloving, less defensive, less
fearful behavior.
So, last part of the sentence, and I'll take the whole thing
Energy can emanate from bothcreation and miscreation and the
particular ratio between themwhich prevails at a given point

(07:07):
in time does determine thebehavior at that time.
So, recognizing that yourbehavior is always an effect of
your choice I was noticing thatand it's right now what we do
isn't determined bycircumstances in the world.
They didn't make me act likethat.

(07:30):
That's a common thing, you know, or you know, the bus being
late didn't make me anxious, let's say.
But it's actually.
It's determined by the currentallocation of energy love or
fear, creation or miscreation.

(07:52):
This is why Jesus puts suchemphasis on decision right.
It's not on trying to changeyour behavior directly.
It's not going.
I should be more loving, Ishould act more loving, let's
say.
That's why all this emphasis isplaced on present moment choice
, because everything you docomes from present moment choice

(08:17):
.
So in this teaching we'rehighlighting the responsibility,
putting all of theresponsibility for your behavior
on your mind, not at the levelof effect, but at the level of
cause.
The cause is the choice betweenlove and fear.
It's not a trying to manageyour behavior at the level of

(08:40):
effect.
Nothing we do comes from outside.
It's always flowing from wherewe're investing our energy love
or fear.
So miscreation has a strong, just like creation, a strong
energetic impact.
Okay, it always leads to fear, pain or distortion.

(09:01):
Remember last week we weretalking about miscreation.
When I miscreate, I'm in pain.
When I miscreate, I'm in pain.
That's the only reason I'm everin pain because I miscreate.
That's the only reason.
And creation is the only trueuse of energy.
It lets us extend love, healing, unity.

(09:21):
That's really the true use ofenergy.
It says other places and, ofcourse, in miracles, your mind
is blank.
When you're not in creation, nothing's going on, it has no
real effects, but they're veryreal to you, it seems very real
to you.
Oh, someone's outside.
Okay, I'm going to open this upfor her.

(09:43):
There we go.
All right, so the ego isfocusing on behavior.
You should be doing better, youshould be nicer, you should be
kinder, all that kind of stuff.
That's not going to work.
Jesus is shifting our focusback to the mind's choice, the

(10:06):
actual cause of our behavior.
Aloha, everyone, thank you forjoining.
Okay, so we finished thatsentence.
Oh well, not quite, not quite.
I got a few more notes here.
Okay, so if you want to changeyour behavior, don't try to fix

(10:26):
the behavior, all right.
So so a lot of the times, whatpeople do when they try to
change their behavior, theystart hating on their behavior
and they're really hard onthemselves.
I shouldn't act like that.
I wish I wouldn't be so.
Whatever it is right, but thatlevel, that level of effect.
It's never gonna work trying tochange your behavior from the

(10:49):
level of effect, because it'sactually the level of cause,
where you're choosing betweencreation and miscreation.
And we're gonna go over whatthat looks like in a few minutes
, like actually what it lookslike where you're making that
choice between creation andmiscreation.
So when you're noticing yourfear-based reactions, instead of

(11:10):
trying to analyze your past orlook to your circumstances or
anything like that, ask where amI misdirecting my creative
energy right now?
Where am I choosing fearinstead of love right now?
Because there's only now, right, there's a tendency to blame it
on past or to blame it oncertain circumstances.

(11:31):
Well, if my neighbor wasn't soloud then I wouldn't be so tense
right now, for instance.
So this is taking your ownresponsibility away and putting
your responsibility outside ofyourself.
But when you put theresponsibility back on the mind
to choose creation overmiscreation, that's when you

(11:52):
know you actually have a choiceand you can make that choice.
So basically, it entailsoffering your miscreation to the
Holy Spirit.
We're going to go over whatmiscreation really looks like
too, okay.

(12:12):
So redirecting that creativepower, that energy, toward love,
this is what naturally doestransform your behavior.
This is what naturally does it.
So behavior is always like anout picturing of how much energy
you've given to creation versusmiscreation.
Healing does not come byadjusting your behavior once
again, but by shifting shiftingyour energy back to love.

(12:34):
So I got a clarification foryou guys on this.
Um, so, as, as a lot of you know, of course, in Miracles is a
Jesus channeling that camethrough Helen Shushman.
Okay, and Helen Shushman iswhat is it?

(12:54):
Psychotherapist?
Is that what it's calledPsychotherapist?
Okay, helen Shushman was apsychotherapist.
And so, whoever the channel is,jesus is coming through in a
different way depending on whothe channel is.
And so, whoever the channel is,you know, jesus is coming
through in a different waydepending on who the channel is.
And a lot of the times, and ofcourse in miracles, it's saying
your thoughts are never neutral.
Right, your thoughts are neverneutral.

(13:15):
So I've been reading this otherJesus channeling in a book
called Love Without End, andthis is coming through a painter
, so a different kind of mind, right, and Jesus is making a
clarification in that channelingwhere he's saying that he's
been misunderstood, when he'ssaying it's the thought that's

(13:37):
not neutral and he's saying it'syour intention.
So this is a really goodclarification.
It's not that Helen got itwrong or anything, it's just
that it's a little bit of atwist on it that helps us to see
, and see without guilt.
Right, because a lot of peoplestart to feel guilty and even
fearful about their thoughtsbecause they're looking at these

(13:57):
thoughts are going wow, theseare all these miscreative,
miscreation thoughts.
There's all these fearfulthoughts coming, miscreation
thoughts.
There's all these fearfulthoughts coming.
But when it comes down to it,it's like what would you do with
it though?
Would you bring it to the HolySpirit for correction, or would
you try to keep it?
So you know, this was somethingthat I was guided to share with

(14:17):
you.
That intention, it's how youwould direct it.
Would you look on that thoughtand see?
A lot of the times thesethoughts are going unnoticed,
because pain, emotional pain, physical pain becomes the smoke
screen to where you don't evennotice you're thinking against
yourself.
So then it's automatically metwith an intention to keep it.

(14:40):
And it's kept like that, okayto keep it.
And it's kept like that, okay.
But when you're willing to lookat these thoughts and actually
use your power, your creativepower, to bring it to the Holy
Spirit and it talks about thisin A Course in Miracles, it just
puts it different.
It says bring the miscreativethoughts to the Holy Spirit for
correction.

(15:01):
This is using willingness.
Another word for that might beintention.
It's using willingness orconsent to bring these thoughts.
It takes this choice, though, because without this choice,
you're just naturally believingthese miscreative thoughts over
and over again.
Okay, so in A Course inMiracles, jesus is insisting no

(15:25):
thought is idle, and this isworkbook chapter 16.
Every thought has effects, because the mind is creative.
So even unintended thoughts canshape your perception.
Because the unconscious mindinvests every thought with
energy.
Because the unconscious mindinvests every thought with
energy, so we're becoming veryaware.

(15:46):
It's guarding our thoughts andnoticing which direction they're
going.
Naturally, they're going towardthe ego because of the way the
mind's been conditioned.
So that's why it takes thisalertness to see what's going on
.
So a fleeting thought handedover to this Holy Spirit has no

(16:08):
lasting effect.
That's why it's neutralizedright away when it's handed over
to the Holy Spirit.
So if you keep them but if youwant to keep them you want to
defend your thoughts.
One of them might be like agingis a fact of life.
That's not a creative thought, that's an uncreative thought,
it's miscreation, right, butlook at how that's defended all

(16:30):
the time, right.
So that's saying I'm keepingthis thought.
Look around me.
I see everyone aging, right, you know?
Yeah, with a false eyes, right.
So we're leaning towardbringing that to the Holy
Spirit's judgment, which isbringing it back to creation.

(16:51):
So Jesus adapts his words to thereceiver's framework too.
So he was, you know, reallyfirm with Helen going hey, you
got to look at your thoughts, you know, and he was talking
when he was talking to her.
He's like you barely ever guardyour thoughts.
You're barely ever guardingyour thoughts.
You're allowing your thoughtsto just run and you're believing

(17:14):
them unconsciously.
So in Love Without End he'stalking about.
What really carries weight iswhat you intend with the thought
.
Are you bringing it to the HolySpirit for correction?
So when taken together, athought has effects only as long

(17:34):
as intention or willingness.
Your true will is God's will.
God wills you to see truly andhave the Holy Spirit's thoughts
as your own.
To see truly and have the HolySpirit's thoughts as your own.
Holy Spirit only sees you aswhole, holy, eternal, guiltless.
Okay.
So if you hand it over, everytime you hand it over, it loses

(17:56):
power.
Every time you hand over amiscreative thought, it loses
power.
All right.
So stray thoughts aren't theproblem.
Intention is, or willingness isanother way to say it.
So I want to share with you somethoughts, miscreative thoughts

(18:18):
First.
I'm going to share miscreativethoughts so you see what they
are.
What if I get sick?
You can't really get sick.
Sickness is a defense againstthe truth.
So that's how you're bringingthese thoughts to the truth.
It's like you would justrecognize oh, I wouldn't keep

(18:40):
that thought.
I can't really get sick.
I could perceive sickness, butit's really a defense against
the truth.
Another one something bad isgoing to happen to me.
Everything can only bless you.
You decide, you know, youchoose.
So these are fear and worrythoughts, those two thoughts
what if I get sick?

(19:00):
Something bad is going tohappen to me?
Attack and judgment.
Here's some examples of attackand judgment.
She's such an idiot he doesn'tdeserve my kindness.
Look how common this kind ofstuff is.
It just pops up, right, it justcrops up in the mind.
It could just be brought to thetruth though.

(19:21):
So judgment is misusing creativepower.
It's separating and condemningA person is annoying.
I feel sorry for them.
There's another one.
Okay, here's guilt andself-attack.
I'm such a failure I'll neverget it right.
I'm not good at such and such.

(19:42):
I'm not good at such and such.
So guilt is how we're turningthe mind against ourselves.
We're creating an illusion ofunworthiness.
These are thoughts that againbe brought to the truth.
Okay, here's specialness andcomparison.
If I just find the rightpartner, I'll finally be

(20:07):
complete, or at least I'm betterthan them.
At least we're better off thanthose guys over there in Gaza,
for instance Another miscreativethought we're making it up.
Specialness misdirects energyinto fantasies.

(20:30):
Superiority or neediness Okay, these can all be brought to the
truth.
Scarcity and lack there's notenough to go around.
For instance, if they get whatthey want, I'll lose out.
Scarcity thoughts project aworld of competition and
deprivation.
We're basically changing theworld here because we're

(20:51):
changing our mind about what ourmind is for Grievances and
resentment.
I can't forgive what they did tome.
I had that when I was a kid.
What they did to me I had thatwhen I was a kid.
I held that and I noticed whenI was maybe I don't know, maybe

(21:15):
in my 30s or something I waslike burning a hole in my
stomach.
I just I got that idea.
I'll never forgive him and Ijust held it.
And every attack is physical.
It's a physical attack onyourself.
That's why it burns, it twists,it ages.
See, they ruined my life.
That's another grievance andresentment.

(21:37):
They did this to me.
I'll hear that sometimes, whenI'm just sitting in a restaurant
.
I'll hear someone you knowtalking, you know, and I'll just
extend love in that.
I'll hear someone you knowtalking, you know, and I'll just
extend love in that.
I'll just see that that's ameaningless thought.
However, it carries power.
That's why I'll just do what Ican to neutralize it by looking
at it as a thought that actuallydoes not mean anything.

(21:59):
So grievances fuel separation.
So grievances fuel separation, death and futility.
We all just get old and die andnothing really matters in the
end.
So these are affirming theego's attraction to death.

(22:21):
All right, death andmeaninglessness.
All right, sexual fantasy andsubstitution.
If I imagine being with them,I'll feel satisfied.
Jesus talks about, you know, sexual fantasy.
It's not somewhere you want togo, because it's using bodies.

(22:42):
It's tapping into a privateillusion and it's actually
reinforcing separation.
He's not saying it's bad bodies.
It's tapping into a privateillusion and it's actually
reinforcing separation.
He's not saying it's bad tohave sex.
What he's saying is, when youlet your mind go into any kind
of fantasy like that whereyou're using a person, you're
using a situation to kind oflike, make yourself feel good
not good for the mind.

(23:02):
Another one good sex comes withunhealthy partners.
I've heard that, hey, I'veheard that.
I've heard it in my own mindtoo.
This is the misuse of a miracleimpulse, giving yourself
private illusions, reinforcingseparation, guilt and lack.

(23:27):
Okay, so the key here isintention and charge.
So I'm going to give you guys alittle bit of a nuance.
Here's another thought thatcould be a miscreation, but
maybe not.
I might lose all my money, allright.
If it's with the belief thatthat would hurt me or deprive me
or make me unsafe, that'smiscreation.

(23:48):
If it's different, like I mightlose all my money with the
recognition that it would notaffect my reality and I'd be
perfectly safe in the joy of God.
It's a creative thought.
See, it comes to what isunderlying it.
Is there fear or is thererecognition?
So it's the same words, butthat could come with complete

(24:11):
trust too.
Right, every thought is eithercreation or miscreation.
There's nothing in between.
There's no neutral when itcomes to this, because of the
way you're intending it.
So the surface wording, itisn't what's determining it.
It's the intention behind it.
Fear is what bends the energytoward miscreation.

(24:35):
Any thoughts rooted in fear, judgment, guilt, lack they
matter only because they showyou where your creative power
has been misdirected.
Once you hand them over, thesame power is restored to love.
That's why you don't need to beafraid of your thoughts and
that's the reason people don'tlook at the thoughts because

(24:57):
they're feeling afraid of them, because they're afraid of their
own miscreation.
They're afraid of their ownmiscreation.
So it's not about suppressinganything.
It's about Holy Spirit, redirect this energy toward the
truth.
Okay, so here's some examples ofwhat's not miscreation, but

(25:18):
maybe construed as miscreationbecause the mind wants to
control outcomes.
The ego mind wants to controloutcomes.
The ego mind wants to controloutcomes.
If it rains, we'll go to themovies instead.
Or if, in my case, the blockmaker doesn't come through with
blocks, I'll return everyone'sdeposits.

(25:39):
So these aren't fearfulprojections.
Okay, so these aren't fearfulprojections.
They're practicalacknowledgments within the dream
.
The energy is light andflexible.
You can feel that the energy islight and flexible.
If it rains, we'll go to themovies.

(25:59):
The ego would look at that, sayI don't want it to rain.
So it's as if the thought if,if it rains is somehow hurting
me.
Right, another one if theflight is delayed, I'll take a
later shuttle.
If my friend doesn't show up,I'll just eat dinner alone.
See, these are not miscreativethoughts.

(26:23):
The ego will look at these alot of the times and go.
I don't want to think aboutanything that I don't want,
because that's miscreating.
The thing is we're not tryingto control the illusion.
Practical considerations aretotally okay.
This is where things gettripped up.

(26:45):
Also, observation If the cloudskeep moving this way, it might
rain this afternoon.
Right, sal?
I've heard you.
You talk about that a lot.
You know what it looks like.
It's probably going to rain ina few minutes.
You know that's not an egothought.
It's still a creative thoughtbecause it's light.
So look at it, you know.

(27:06):
Does it feel fearful?
Are you afraid of the rain?
That's different from making anobservation.
Neutral decisions If the shopis closed, I'll go tomorrow.
You know it might not seemideal that the shop is closed,
but it's not eliciting fear,it's just a practical, neutral

(27:28):
decision.
You could say Now remember, nothought because of your
intention is neutral.
It's either creation ormiscreation, and what I'm
pointing out here is this iscreation.
If she's not home, I'll leave anote.
For instance, these thoughtsdon't carry fear.
They're just natural capacityto navigate form.

(27:49):
While we perceive that there'sa world here, we're still
navigating form.
That's okay.
See, a lot of the times, whathappens when people are
practicing a course in miracles, they think they can't navigate
form anymore and they getanxious about the thoughts that
come up and thinking that theyneed to control things.

(28:11):
That's not where it's at, okay.
Here's why they're notmiscreations.
Miscreations arises when theenergy is directed by fear,
guilt or attack.
So these examples I just gave, they're examples of carrying no
charge, so they leave room forpeace.

(28:31):
What's happening here?
This is kind of the crux of it.
They leave room for peace, nomatter what outcome occurs.
At one time I was getting anaudit, an IRS audit, right and I
got the sense that I was goingto get in trouble.
And you know, worst casescenario, I was going to go to
jail, right, and immediately thespirit came in and goes if you

(28:58):
find yourself in jail, you'regoing to have a kick-ass time in
there.
See, that's what I mean.
It's like it's leaving room forpeace, no matter what occurs,
right?
So it's not like it's bad tothink on these apparent outcomes
that you think that you don'tlike.
Once they're brought intoconsciousness, immediately let

(29:21):
the Holy Spirit interpret themas perfect for you.
There's no outcome that isn'tperfect for you.
That's what allows peace, nomatter what Peace, no matter
what the outcome is.
So the mind in these cases isnot trying to control, condemn
or prove some form of lack bythe outcome, right.

(29:47):
It's open to just makingadjustments.
Your mind's just open to makingadjustments to find peace, to
make room for peace, no matterwhat anyone says, does whatever,
whatever circumstance in.
So a worst case scenarioimagine with fear is different.

(30:10):
Like I'll tell you, in my caseI have a block maker and the
block maker, if he fails to comethrough, I'll be humiliated and
everyone will hate me.
That's looking at it with fear.
That's looking at it with fear, looking at it with a spirit, is
if the block maker doesn't comethrough, I'll return everyone's
deposit.

(30:30):
No big deal, right?
A contingency, imagined withcalm acceptance rather than with
fear.
Oh, this will be horrible.
It's like no worst casescenario is this and
everything's fine.
We just make simple adjustments, peaceful adjustments.

(30:50):
We don't try to controlanything.
So not every what if?
Thought is a miscreation, andthat depends on you.
Would you make room for peace?
The question is am I using thisthought to reinforce fear or am
I using it to stay open andflexible?
That's what it comes down to.

(31:11):
It's really simple.
If fear is driving, it'smiscreation.
If trust is present, it'spractical navigation of the
dream, it's creation.
Every thought, again, is eithercreation or miscreation, and
the same words can fall intoeither category, depending on
the intention behind them.

(31:32):
Trust redirects all of it intocreation.
Now the kinds of thoughts thatflow from love.
What fun.
Oh, and I made a PDF for this,so I'm going to post this with
the sub stack posts.
I have a PDF with these threedifferent kinds of thoughts.

(31:55):
So trust and safety in God.
God is my source.
I cannot be deprived.
Whatever comes, spirit willguide me.
See how your thoughts can bejust be brought to this.
Whatever comes, spirit willguide me.
See how your thoughts can justbe brought to this.
Whatever comes, spirit willguide me.
I'm perfectly okay.
These are affirming yourreality is safe and sustained by
love, blessing and extension.

(32:17):
Let's say it seems likesomeone's annoying you.
Okay, may she be surrounded bypeace.
I see their innocence shiningthrough.
Even if you don't see it, I seetheir innocence shining through
Creation.
Thoughts are naturallyextending love.

(32:37):
It's not putting any conditionor judgment.
It's not like I can see theirinnocence shining through.
If they act this way tomorrow.
Gratitude and recognition.
I'm grateful for this moment.
All I truly need is alreadygiven to me.
Gratitude turns your attentionto abundance.

(33:00):
It dissolves all your illusionsof lack, joining with your
brothers in equality.
We are the same in truth.
His joy is my joy.
Her healing is my healing.
Nothing real has been harmed.

(33:20):
Let's say you get theperception of sickness.
Nothing real has been harmed.
Let's say you get theperception someone stole your
car.
Nothing real has been harmed.
Let's say you get theperception of sickness.
Nothing real has been harmed.
Let's say you get theperception someone stole your
car.
Nothing real has been harmed.
See, only love is true here.
So this isn't about pardoningsin, it's just recognizing
there's no sin at all.
Purpose and joy.

(33:45):
Let this situation be used forlove.
I want only what brings peaceto all.
I want only what brings peaceto all, and I don't know what
that is.
So I'm open whatever comes.
So these thoughts are aligningwith the Holy Spirit's

(34:07):
reinterpretation.
They're letting you reinterpreteverything Eternal life and
freedom.
Whenever aging thoughts, deaththoughts come up, I'm not a body
, I'm free.
Only eternal life is real.
Creation thoughts are neverabout managing outcomes.

(34:27):
Notice, this is new age stuffthat people are into trying to
manage outcomes.
Creation thoughts are not aboutmanaging outcomes, notice how
they are, they're open to anyoutcome and being at peace with
every outcome.

(34:48):
This is what allows you to justshift.
You know you could just shiftthe way you're looking at things
really fast, navigatingillusions easily, with ease,
because you're not resisting,right?
One example one time there wasgoing to be a dance up at the

(35:09):
roof at Namaste and everyone wasgoing okay, we're going to use
our power of our mind to make itnot rain and it poured like a
mofo.
You think people are feelingdisappointed.
Yes, see, because that's notwhat.
That's not what it means to usea creative, your mind

(35:33):
creatively.
Using your mind creatively is,you know, like noticing the
clouds.
Hey, it kind of looks like it'sgoing to rain and you adjust
according to that.
You're not trying to make theoutcome something.
All right, I'm glad we went overall that, clarified all that.

(35:54):
By the way, I'll tell you guysagain.
I got a handout about that.
I made a PDF.
I'm going to post it toSubstack and, yeah, if anyone
doesn't see it there or wants it, just let me know.
I think it's really helpfulbecause you can tune your mind
into these subtle differences soyou're not so confused about

(36:16):
how to use this creation andmiscreation, because it truly is
a choice in every moment.
Okay, let's move on now thatwe've covered all that.
Aloha Goda, all right.
So now that we've covered that, well, let's move on.
Now that we've covered all that, aloha Goda, all right.
So now that we've covered that, well, let's go to paragraph 11,
sentence 5.
If miscreation did not engenderenergy in its own right, it

(36:39):
would be unable to producedestructive behavior, which it
very patently does.
So let's break this down Ifmiscreation did not engender
energy in its own right.
So miscreation isn't just likean empty fantasy.
It draws on the mind's creativeimpulse.

(37:01):
Okay, and that's why it hasenergetic effects.
These energetic effects arewhat we perceive as our own
behavior in the world.
So this doesn't makemiscreation real, but it does
mean that the mind's belief init gives it power in this dream.
It has power to make us act outin the dream.

(37:23):
So if miscreation did notengender energy in its own right
, it would be unable to producedestructive behavior.
So our behavior always has acause Destructive actions.
So this is basically impatience, meanness, even apparent

(37:44):
accidents Oops, sorry, I justslapped you for no reason.
They arise from an energeticsource.
This is psychic energy.
If miscreation had no energybehind it, fear and attack would
have no expression.
That means war would have noexpression.
It wouldn't be able to expressin the world.

(38:05):
Anger wouldn't be able toexpress in the world if it
didn't have energy behind it.
So it's a matter of recognizingall of this.
Destructive behavior has energy, psychic energy, behind it.
Third part of the sentence ifmiscreation did not engender
energy in its own right, itwould be unable to produce

(38:26):
destructive behavior, which itvery patently does.
So Jesus is pointing out theobvious here.
He's saying destructivebehavior clearly exists in the
dream.
Okay, so we're not pretendingthat we don't see destructive
behavior.
We see destructive behavior allthe time.
This is evidence that themind's misdirected energy fuels

(38:49):
the behavior.
It's not proof of the reality.
It's not proof that this is areality.
It's not a reality.
It's proof that there's powerto our thinking.
The power of belief is thepower that the mind gives to it.
The power of belief is thepower that the mind gives to it,
and so it's powerful to makeillusions.
This is not saying that theillusions are true or real, but

(39:12):
it is saying we don't want tokeep doing this.
We want to come back tocreation.
So Jesus is emphasizing that themind is powerful here, even
when it miscreates.
What it makes has effects inour dream illusion.
That's why we're dreaming ofpeople dying.
We hear about it on the news orfrom other people, or however

(39:34):
it gets around to us.
We hear about these things.
This is explaining why there'sa world of pain, destruction,
fear, greed, scarcity.
It's the out picturing of thismisdirected energy.
This doesn't make it eternal,it doesn't make it true.
It's actually a misuse of God'sgift.

(39:55):
It's not a separate creativeforce.
It doesn't have the same forceof creation, but it looks like
it in a dream.
So here's the practicalimplication when you perceive
destructive behavior, whetherit's in yourself or others, just
recognize it's fueled by themind's misdirected energy.

(40:19):
The solution isn't condemnation.
The solution isn't condemnation, it's not trying to suppress it
, it's redirection, so the samepower used for fear can be
handed over to the Holy Spirit.
I hand it over.
Whether it's my fearful energy, destructive energy or anyone

(40:42):
else's, I hand it over to theHoly Spirit.
In recognizing this is not tocondemn a person as bad or wrong
.
It's recognizing what is thecause of that and asking it to
be reinterpreted.
So this reframes how we'reviewing destructive patterns.
This is truly allowing us to bethe light of the world when

(41:03):
we're reframing how destructivepatterns are caused.
They're not proof of evil.
They're not proof that anyone'sbroken.
It's proof that the mind'screative power is being misused.
That's all.
When we're willing to look atit like that, we actually open
the door for everyone to look atit like that.
Look, no one's going to be leftout of this.

(41:23):
Everyone needs to, and at onepoint in time we'll see that the
cause of all their behavior istheir choice between love and
fear.
And we're opening the door forthat when we refuse to see
anyone as evil or broken, nomatter what they seem to be
expressing as, because theirmind is still all powerful, just

(41:43):
like ours, to be expressing as,because their mind is still all
powerful, just like ours.
So when we perceive destructivebehavior, that's proving that
missed creation carriesenergetic effects in the dream.
That's it.
Not evil, no one's evil, noone's bad.
When we redirect this energy, return the power to their mind,
return the power to your mind.

(42:04):
When we redirect this energy,it's going to serve creation
instead.
So healing is in reclaiming themind's power.
We do that for ourselves, we dothat for everyone else.
It's very helpful.
It's really the way to changethe world.
It really is the way to turneverything around, and we're

(42:24):
doing it Just by joining in this.
You guys, you're doing it.
So thank you.
All right, if you're on Zoom orhere in person, feel free to ask
any questions that come to mind.
You can raise your hand on Zoom, you can type me a question.
You can go on the Q&A.
Also on Substack, I'm watchingyou.

(42:45):
Go ahead and just typesomething in there if you have
any questions or you want to addanything.
Moving on, we're going toparagraph 12, sentence 1.
Everything that you make hasenergy because, like the

(43:11):
creations of God, it comes fromenergy and is endowed by its
maker with the power to make.
So everything that you make hasenergy.
That means the mind is neverpowerless, even in its illusions
.
Even though they're unreal,it's carrying energetic effects
in the dream, every thought, every fantasy, every projection,
every belief generates someform of experience, because the

(43:37):
mind's investing power ineverything.
It's either miscreation orcreation.
The mind's always investingpower into it.
So everything that you make hasenergy Because, like the
creations of God, it comes fromenergy.
God's creations flow from puredivine energy Love itself.

(44:01):
Remember, god is the cause, weare the effect.
That's in truth.
God is the cause, we are theeffect.
That's in truth.
God's the cause.
We are the perfect extensions.
That's in truth.
In the illusion we get somethingdifferent.
Our thoughts are the cause.
The way we would direct ourthoughts are the cause, and then

(44:23):
the perception is the effect.
All right, so that's why, ifyou miscreate, you're in pain.
The ego's miscreations are alsodrawing on the same creative
impulse, that creative impulsewhere God's creation flow from
divine energy love itself.

(44:43):
The ego's miscreations areactually drawing on that.
That's why everything comesfrom love.
It cannot come from anothersource.
It's just distorted.
It's being distorted, so it'smisdirected.
So this explains why yourillusions seem to have such an
impact.
They seem so real.
They're fueled by the samestream of creative energy, even

(45:07):
though they're bent towardunreality.
The next part of the sentenceeverything that you make has
energy because, like thecreations of God, it comes from
energy and is endowed by itsmaker with the power to make.
So the son of God, which youare okay, there's one son, we're

(45:31):
all the one son.
Son of God has been given thegift of creation and that power
is never lost.
We always have the gift ofcreation.
Even when it's misused, itremains active.
Of creation.
Even when it's misused, itremains active.
So our illusions are alsoendowed with this borrowed
creative force.

(45:51):
It's not eternal, but it'seffective enough to generate
fearful experiences within ourdream, and we believe those
experiences to be true.
And we believe thoseexperiences to be true.
So this energy, this creativeenergy and the power to make,
can be used rightly, or it canbe misused.
That's what's going on.

(46:12):
Either way, the mind's activityhas effects, because the sun
can't uncreate the creativepower that's been inherited.
Now, a lot of what's going on isthis idea that our mind isn't
that powerful.
Even in psychology it's likeyeah, it's okay, it's just a

(46:33):
random thought.
It's very powerful.
It's always making illusions.
What differs is the content.
Creations are eternal and real.
Miscreations are temporary andillusory.
So, practically the way youwant to look at this is
recognizing that the way youdirect your thoughts does have

(46:57):
effects.
None of it is idle.
Even your illusions, whenthey're believed in, they shape
your experience of the dream.
This is why A Course inMiracles is emphasizing mind
training, redirecting creativepower from miscreation to
creation all the time.
We can do this all day long.
And it talks about in A Coursein Miracles.

(47:18):
If you're not making miraclesall day long, something has gone
wrong and basically you'remaking that miracle is that
redirection.
One way A Course in Miraclesdescribes what is a miracle.
It establishes in your mindthat you dream a dream and none

(47:45):
of its content is true.
That's bringing your uncreativethoughts to creation.
So the healing shift comes fromwhen we stop fearing the mind's
power.
There's a built-in fear of ourmind's power so that we don't
offer it to the Holy Spirit.
The mind's always creating withpower and God's creations are

(48:06):
eternal.
Miscreations are just delusions, but still energetic.
So healing is not in denyingpower to our mind but offering
back to love.
So paragraph 12, sentence 2.

(48:35):
Miscreation is still a genuinecreative act in terms of the
underlying impulse, but not interms of the content of what is
made.
Miscreation is still a genuinecreative act.
So the act itself, the movementof the mind that's creative

(48:57):
because it arises from theGod-given power to create.
Remember, everything comes fromlove, even when it's directed
toward illusion.
The impulse is rooted in adivine gift.
This is really misuse of adivine gift.
So miscreation is still agenuine creative act in terms of

(49:21):
the underlying impulse, theimpulse to extend, to make, to
project.
This is genuine because thepower behind it is totally real.
What the ego can't do, but theego tries to do, is diminish the
impulse.
All the ego can do is misdirectit toward miscreation.

(49:43):
So miscreation is still agenuine creative act in terms of
the underlying impulse, but notin terms of the content of what
is made.
So here's the distinction theimpulse itself is real, but the

(50:03):
content, the miscreation,totally unreal.
This is not true.
So illusions fear separation,guilt.
They have no reality in God andno existence.
Their effects of misuse, they're never the truth.
It doesn't mean you need to beafraid of anything that is

(50:25):
occurring in the field.
Whatever's occurring in thefield, look at it as helpful.
When you do that, you're increativity.
You notice that you just lookat it as this is helpful.
Whatever this person is sayingis helpful.
Whatever seems to be happening.
It's raining, that's helpful.
I'm getting wet right now, it'shelpful.

(50:45):
Right Going to the dentist,it's helpful.
Whatever it seems to be.
So the consistent teaching in ACourse in Miracles is that the
power of the mind is real, butwhat the ego uses it for is
unreal.
So creation is eternal content.

(51:07):
Truth, love is eternal content.
Truth, love, miscreation unrealcontent, fear, separation, but
projected with the same creativedrive.
It all comes from creativity,it all comes from love.
The difference isn't the force.
The difference is not in theforce behind the act.

(51:27):
The force is the same.
The power is the same.
It's whether the content alignswith God or illusion.
The content is the way thethought is being directed.
So if it's a miscreativethought and it's brought to
creation, it's neutralized rightthere and your mind shifts
toward creation.
So everything comes from loveand then it has a certain

(51:53):
content.
It's either love or fear andthen you decide, you make the
decision whether you would keepa fearful thought as if it's a
reality.
Right, I love you.
Thank you.
So, practically, the implicationof this for toward healing Is

(52:15):
that when we fear, when we feelfear, when we feel guilt or
conflict, we can recognize thisis, this is my creative power.
It's just being misdirected.
Right now, Instead ofcondemning myself, what I'm
going to do is reclaim thisimpulse.
This is a creative impulse.
The base of it is love.

(52:35):
I'm going to offer it.
If it feels like fear, if itfeels like any kind of worry or
anxiety, I am going to offer theunderlying thought to the Holy
Spirit, who can translate itback to love.
That's me reclaiming mycreative impulse.
This keeps us also from beingafraid of our mind's power.
For the most part, what's goingon is we're afraid to look at

(52:59):
our thoughts because we know inthe unconscious mind, we know
how freaking powerful it is.
So there's this fear of lookingat it.
So there's this fear of lookingat it.
The problem isn't that we havethis creative power.
The problem is how we've beenusing it, because we don't

(53:20):
realize how to use it.
The power is real.
The illusion is that it's notreal.
It's not a real power.
It is a real power.
Every single thought that comesto our mind is giving us an
opportunity right now to look atit and recognize.
Is this a thought I would keepor is it a thought I would hand

(53:41):
over to the spirit?
It takes a certain level ofawareness and alertness and see,
when you just offer a littlebit of willingness here and
there, this willingness grows.
So you just start wherever youjust offer a little bit of
willingness here and there, thiswillingness grows.
So you just start wherever youare with a little bit of
willingness to see it grows andgrows until you're doing it all
the time.
Healing means just redirectingthis impulse toward the truth

(54:09):
over and over again.
All right, paragraph 12,sentence 3.
This does not deprive what ismade of its own creative power.
Now, when I'm doing thesesentences, these are Jesus's
words as they came through helland cheshire.
So this is what Jesus is sayingright here.
This does not deprive what ismade of its own creative power.

(54:33):
So, breaking this down, thisdoes not deprive.
Even though miscreation'scontent is not real, the act of
making still carries the powerof the mind behind it.
Illusions can't be stripped oftheir energy the energy we've
invested in them, until wewithdraw the belief.

(54:55):
So this does not deprive whatis made.
What is made refers to theproducts of miscreation,
illusions of fear.
Fear is a product ofmiscreation.
So is guilt.
So is a sense of fear.
Fear is a product ofmiscreation.
So is guilt.
So is the sense of separation.
Everything about the ego'sworld is a product of

(55:16):
miscreation competition, war,conflict.
These are made, they're notcreated, because they're
temporary and they're unreal ineternity.
That's why Jesus is saying whatis made, this does not deprive
what is made.
Okay, the last sentence we wereon.

(55:37):
Miscreation is still a genuinecreative act in terms of the
underlying impulse, but not interms of the content of what is
made.
So he's saying this does notdeprive what is made of its own
creative power.
So once the mind invested itspower into illusion, it takes on

(56:00):
the appearance of force in adream.
This will explain why illusionsseem to hurt, scare us, bind us
, because they carry energy wegave them.
But that power, their power, isn't inherent, it's actually
borrowed.
That's why even things in theillusion can be changed, even

(56:24):
the appearance of, let's say,cancer.
Right, you gave it an effect, you gave it power.
That doesn't mean it can't bechanged.
So nothing the mind makes ispowerless because we gave it
power.
All right.
So even illusions can appearreally potent because they
reflect the mind's strength.
It's like I'm putting this out,I'm holding out this body.

(56:46):
For instance, it seems to be ona trajectory between birth and
death that could change, itcould dissolve.
Illusions are not real power, they're just distortions.
Their seeming effects are onlygoing to last as long as we
continue to believe in them.
So they can seem to enslave us.
Right, it seems like people arein these bodies and that these

(57:09):
bodies are subject to time, butstill, their effects are only
going to last as long as wecontinue to believe in them.
A course in miracles is trainingour mind to stop believing in
illusions.
Jesus is insisting thatillusions can seem to enslave us
, but that their power isnothing more than our own

(57:32):
misapplied creative energy.
And we're learning how to applythat properly here.
So when a fearful thought ordestructive thought pattern
seems overwhelming, it helps usto remember this only has the
power we lent to it.
Overwhelming, it helps us toremember this only has the power
we lent to it.

(57:53):
By withdrawing belief from itand handing it over to the Holy
Spirit, we're reclaiming theenergy and we can feel that in
our body's energy field when weredirect it toward love.
We could feel that the shiftinstantly, this shift instantly
begins to undo the illusion, because the power never really
belonged to the illusion, itbelonged to the mind that

(58:18):
projected the illusion, theyonly seem.
These illusions only seempowerful because the mind is
endowing them with energy.
They don't have any real powerof their own.

(58:40):
Yeah, thank you for joining.
I love you.
Okay, sentence 12.
No, sentence 4 of paragraph 12.
It does, however, guaranteethat the power will be misused
or used fearfully.
So it does.

(59:01):
Refers back to miscreation beinginvented with the mind's
creative power.
It's saying it does.
The miscreation invested withmind's creative power, it's
saying it does the miscreationinvested with mind's creative
power is guaranteeing that it'llbe misused or used fearfully.
So, though these illusions arenot real, they can never be real
the fact that they're endowedwith energy means something

(59:26):
predictable is going to followGuarantee that the power will be
misused.
When the mind directs powertowards illusion, misuse is
inevitable.
That's how powerful our mind is.
When we direct it towardillusion, like, if we go, that
person doesn't deserve love, forinstance, misuse is inevitable.

(59:49):
That person doesn't deservelove, for instance, misuse is
inevitable.
That's because the energy wasmeant to extend love and then
it's bent towards separation.
So that's going to affect ourbehavior.
So miscreation can never servethe truth.
It's always distorting.
It comes from a distortedpremise.

(01:00:12):
That's why it's as if we're notas God created us.
Now we're something that couldbe fearful, so it does, however,
guarantee that the power willbe misused or used fearfully.
So fear is the source andexpression of misused power.
The source and expression ofmisused power.

(01:00:32):
So it's like everything comesfrom love, but then we distort
it and then that becomes anillusory source and then it
makes an expression, and that'smisusing the power.
When the mind chooses againstlove that's what we have the
power to do in a dream choosesagainst love, the energy of that
choice manifests as fear, attack, guilt, defense.

(01:00:53):
We feel upset.
That's the first manifestation.
First manifestation of thoughtis in the body's energy field.
You can feel it.
That's a really good gauge forus.
As soon as we feel any kind ofupset, any kind of worry,
anything like that, we'vemiscreated, we've thought
something against love.
Fear is not a passive state,it's active.

(01:01:15):
It's a result of misdirectedcreative energy.
So the Son of God has giventhis power.
That's not alterable.
The ego can't cancel ourcreative power, but the ego can

(01:01:35):
induce us to misapply it.
That's what it is.
It's misapplication of ourcreative impulse.
It all starts with the miracleimpulse, love, and then it gets
misapplied.
So when you know you'remiscreating, because it always,
always, always produces fear.
Again, body's energy fieldNotice.
Am I feeling joyful?

(01:01:56):
Am I feeling alive?
Am I feeling happy or am Ifeeling shut down?
Right, we're always working onfascia, as we're doing block
therapy around here.
If you guys want to look it up,it's blocktherapycom.
We're always working on fasciaand that's an effect.
We're holding the body out inspace right now, and how much
our body is contracted right nowhas to do with this balance

(01:02:19):
between love and fear.
Really, it seems like we'reusing a block to loosen up the
fascia, but really what we'redoing is we're tuning our mind
into how we're projecting rightand as the release mentally
takes place, we see the effectsin the form.
We become more relaxed, webecome more released, things

(01:02:41):
seem to go back into alignment.
Right, the body is always areflection of the balance of our
choice between love and fear, and it's always right now.
Isn't that fun?
So it's kind of like you'redoing mind training, you know,
and that's why I tell people, ifyou look at it like this, you
know you don't take it sophysical, but you look at it

(01:03:04):
like this, when you're bringingup these pains from this
twisting, basically it's likethe fascia keeps on twisting and
choking us out, because it'ssymbolic of a mind that's
wrapping around these thoughtsout of habit.
But it's really just right nowwhere we could actually be
released of it all, right now, through great willingness.
And the way we get to thisgreat willingness is a little

(01:03:28):
bit of willingness over time, right, so we can use our mind
for being released of tensionover and over and over again,
and that's why it works.
So miscreation is alwaysproducing fear.
It's rooted in the belief inseparation and you can just
sense it right here Painwhatever, belief in separation.

(01:03:52):
And you can just sense it righthere pain whatever.
This is why the world, which isa collective miscreation, the
way, of course, in miracles saysit is.
It's a collective miscreationof the sonship, because there's
one son uh, you know the waythis wording goes one son of God
, and the way it looks at all ofthe people is we're at the

(01:04:17):
sonship.
It's like there's one son ofGod, kind of like scattered out.
Okay, so the world, it's acollective miscreation of the
sonship.
The world is saturated withfear and conflict.
So it just takes, really justtakes one of us holy, holy,

(01:04:39):
willing to see past the illusion, because it is an illusion.
And when the veil is liftedfrom our sight, we see that it
is an illusion because everyoneis still here and no one's
suffering.
The veil is just lifted.
You don't really leave anyoneLike.
Everyone's still here,everyone's in creation, no one's

(01:05:02):
suffering, no one's miscreating.
So whenever you feel fear, recognize that it's evidence of
misdirected energy.
You're not bad, you're notwrong, that's.
This is a big, you know egodefense that you like somehow
you're bad.
Okay, it's not.
It's not evidence of weakness,it's not evidence of failure,

(01:05:24):
it's not evidence of truth.
All it's evidence of ismisdirected, created creative
energy, which we have a choiceabout.
So this is reframing fear.
Instead of being something tofight or suppress, it's a signal
.
The mind's power just needsredirection.

(01:05:45):
It's a simple choice.
So the Holy Spirit is nottrying to abolish the power of
the mind.
The Holy Spirit is here torestore the power to love.
The Holy Spirit is again anillusion.
The Holy Spirit is given usbecause we made ego as an
illusion.
It's a counterpart to that.
The Holy Spirit is showing usthat fear is only misuse.

(01:06:10):
It's only, and fear that weperceive in the world is only an
effect of misuse.
It is not reality.
We have a choice to make here.
So the mind's power is neverlost, but if it's given to the
ego, it's guaranteed to bemisused, it's guaranteed to have
fearful effects.
Pain, suffering, conflict, war, miscreation always results in

(01:06:34):
fear.
Death is another one of thoseSickness.
Healing is the redirection ofthe power back to love.
Yay, thank you for joining, Ilove you.
Okay, all right, where are wenow?

(01:07:07):
Paragraph 13, I think yes,paragraph 13,.
Sentence one To deny this ismerely the previously mentioned
fallacy of depreciation.
So to deny this, this?
What they're saying is thisthis is the fact that
miscreation carries energeticeffects.
To deny that miscreationcarries energetic effect.

(01:07:29):
Look, this is what people doall the time.
This is so common.
Just saying, well, death andtaxes is a fact of life, and
thinking that has no power tomake anything.
See, it's a common thing.
People believe that it's acommon thing.
People believe that.
They say, for instance I heardthis a couple times yesterday my

(01:08:00):
bunions are hereditary.
And think that has no power tocreate anything.
It's making effects.
It's making effects, it'smaking illusions.
True, see, it's not a matter ofmaking anyone wrong or anything
bad, it's just noticing, istrue, see, it's not a matter of
making anyone wrong or anythingbad.
It's just noticing.
And for me, I hear stuff allday long and I don't go around
correcting people.
I have a good ass time withpeople.
The Holy Spirit corrects people.
I don't do that.
The Holy Spirit knows how to doit, very gently, whenever

(01:08:21):
people are ready to see it.
But I'm just noticing thatthat's a miscreative thought.
It doesn't mean anything,that's all.
I'm just noticing it.
See, so what the mind is doingis denying that these thoughts
have energetic effects.
They absolutely do.
Our mind is totally powerful.
They have energetic effects.

(01:08:41):
When you say something'shereditary, that's denying that
you are making it up right now.
It's saying that something fromthe past gave it power.
Do I hear myself doing thisstuff?
Yes, from time to time I do thesame thing with my own self.
I hear it come out of my mouth.
I notice it come out of mymouth, that's it.
By the time it came out of mymouth, I didn't recognize that.

(01:09:05):
A whole shitload of time justgoing on in my mind.
Basically, again, I'm notmaking myself wrong.
If I was making myself wrong, you know what I would be doing.
I'd be avoiding seeing itbecause then I'd be making
myself fearful about it right.
I'm not making other peoplewrong.
I'm not looking at people andgoing, oh they're unaware or

(01:09:26):
something like that.
No, they're my mind.
I'm not doing that.
I'm looking at it as what can Iforgive around here?
What illusions can I forgivearound here?
This is, this is what my mindis actually for.
This is a.
This is how this is a.
The only creative power Iretained while dreaming the
ability to do this.

(01:09:46):
This is making miracles all daylong.
So this, the fact thatmiscreation carries energetic
effects because the mind hasendowed it with power, that's
what this means.
So he's saying to deny this, denying it would mean claiming
illusions are completelypowerless within the dream.

(01:10:06):
They have all kinds of power inthe dream because we gave them
power.
Powerless within the dream.
They have all kinds of power inthe dream because we gave them
power.
So to deny this is merely thepreviously mentioned fallacy.
So Jesus already warned aboutthe fallacy of depreciation.
That's what he's talking about.
The fallacy of depreciation, thebelief that the mind can
diminish its own strength.

(01:10:26):
It can't do that.
We never lose our creativepower.
This fallacy is the ego's wayof saying you're weak, powerless
and subject to outside forces, for instance hereditary Heredity
.
All right, that's an outsideforce.
So to deny this is merely thepreviously mentioned fallacy of

(01:10:49):
depreciation.
So depreciation meansundervaluing or belittling our
creative power.
This is the power God gave us.
That's what depreciation isOkay.
Even miscreation proves provingthe mind's power, because
without that power, fear andattack couldn't even seem to

(01:11:10):
manifest at all.
We wouldn't get that perceptionat all unless we had this power
.
So to deny this is merely thepreviously mentioned fallacy of
depreciation.
So this perspective is that themind is always powerful.
We cannot strip our mind ofGod's gift of creativity.

(01:11:33):
We're not allowed to do that.
That's one thing we cannot do.
We can choose to pretend thatwe don't have it, but it's never
gone.
So even though illusions don'thave reality, they seem to have
effects because the mindinvested them with power.
Denying this makes usvulnerable to the ego's lie that
we're victims Whenever webelieve that we're victims of

(01:11:56):
the world, circumstance oranyone else is a victim.
I was talking to the sweetestlady yesterday and she asked me
where I was going.
I said I'm going to Sedona.
And she goes oh, that's in theUSA.
Well, you'll be okay becauseyour skin isn't that dark.

(01:12:20):
I'm like, oh really.
And then she goes well.
Your skin is actually a littlebit dark, but not too dark.
White power, apparently.
That is one of those things.
That's one of those things youknow I like to joke around like
I like to joke around about thatkind of stuff.

(01:12:40):
You know.
Like, I'll just tell them.
Just tell them, you know, that's your white privilege, or
something like that.
You know, because we're makingthis shit up, it's funny, it's
actually funny.
Like you know, we don't have totake these things as true.
We don't have to keep onpropelling them like that.
But you know, they seem to haveeffects.

(01:13:01):
We're victims of something,someone else.
They're a victim of their skincolor, because of their skin
color.
That's why they're beingtreated like that.
No, no, no, no, no.
All effects come from the mind.
Take it back.
Take it back.
This is a lie in the world.
That's being told.
It's always being told this lie.

(01:13:22):
It's been going on for a longtime.
Some way or another, your skincolor is doing something.
Take it back to the mind'spower.
You don't have to make yourselfa victim of anything, right?
When you take it back to yourmind's power, you'll start
seeing things differently.
I have a friend who did that.

(01:13:42):
She gave a really good example.
I was maybe less than 21 yearsold.
I had a friend.
She was apparently black, shewas apparently in her 40s, maybe
she had a daughter who was myage and the woman was hilarious.
We're in a bar together andthere was a man in the bar who

(01:14:05):
was apparently a racist.
He apparently didn't like blackpeople.
That woman changed the wholevibe because she just refused to
believe in it.
She just kept on being herselfand she refused to believe in it
.
And that man I saw him changeright in front of my eyes.
She just refused to believe inanything like that.

(01:14:27):
She just kept on relating withhim like he wasn't a racist.
She just kept on looking rightpast that.
And you know, I saw that likeas a young chick.
I go, wow, that just wasn'teven real.
She just poof, that just wentaway, right.

(01:14:48):
I've seen that with myself.
It seems like someone islooking down on me because I'm a
woman Poof.
The whole situation changesbecause I'm refusing to buy into
that.
I'm a victim of the world.
That it's not coming frommyself.
You know, sometimes I'veperceived myself and other
people doing that when theydon't even know.

(01:15:09):
A Course in Miracles.
We just all automatically havethis in us to know this power,
to recognize this power.
We won't buy into being avictim.
Thank you, thomas.
I love you.
Thank you for joining.
I see you when you write to me.

(01:15:35):
Okay, so A Course in Miracles is, and Jesus, through A Course in
Miracles, is refusing to let usplay small.
Okay, looking at our form andpretending like nope, that's
playing small.
We're responsible for allmiscreation.
Only miscreation is makingeffects.
There's total equality becausethere's one son of God.

(01:15:58):
No matter what you perceive,it's total equality.
So denying this is what makes usvulnerable.
Denying this is what makes usperceive ourselves as victims
and not as all powerful mind.
Okay, because if miscreationshad no seeming force, we
wouldn't even takeresponsibility for how we use
our power.

(01:16:19):
And this is what's showing uswhen we, when these miscreations
seem to have force, we'reautomatically, because the call
for God and the call for knowingour power is so strong.
We're automatically beingguided there.
It doesn't matter what ourcircumstance is.
No one's in a worsecircumstance than another,
because all circumstance ismaximally beneficial for

(01:16:41):
everyone involved.
It's always maximallybeneficial.
Don't look at anyone else as avictim and you'll still be able
to make the choice for truth.
Don't minimize or bypass fearby pretending illusions do
nothing.
That's the depreciation error.
Jesus is calling that thedepreciation error depreciating

(01:17:02):
the power of our mind.
We're making it Okay Instead.
Noticing fear is evidence.
This is evidence Like, say, someone's being racist toward
you in your dream, right?
This is evidence of my mind'screative power being misapplied
right now.
That way, we could extend loveinstead of fear, instead of

(01:17:24):
project fear.
I'm afraid of you becauseyou're a racist, for instance,
right.
I'm afraid of you becauseyou're a racist, for instance,
right, one of my friends.
Uh, you know it's.
It's hard to tell if he'sjoking or not, but I always look
at it like he's joking.
You know he really likes me.
He goes I'm gonna kidnap you,I'm gonna keep you in my closet
and I'm like no, you're not.

(01:17:44):
You know, it's like you canlook at these things any way you
want, like if you look at itand you become fearful, right,
oh my god, does he really meanhe's gonna do?
It's like you're generatingthis fearful energy and we're
making dreams.
So we find ourselves.
You know, it's like we findourselves in these situations

(01:18:07):
because we make these dreams.
It's like one of my favorite ACourse in Miracles lessons is.
I trust my brothers, who areone with me.
One of my friends goes how canyou relate with that guy?
He has such a strong sexualenergy.
He just comes up to me and he'slike, ooh, he just picks me up
and he's like, ooh, and he holdsme.

(01:18:28):
My friend's like, oh, mygoodness.
My friends like, oh, mygoodness, that's just such a
strong.
Oh my gosh, how do you?
And I'm like I trust mybrothers, you're one with me.
I'm sure he's not going to doanything to me.
I don't need you know.
It's like and it's like thisdoesn't mean that you're just.
You know, uh, it's still, you'renavigating a dream, right,

(01:18:52):
you're still navigating a dream,but it's like you don't have to
buy into fear to navigate adream.
It's not necessary to buy intothat.
It's not necessary to buy intothe fear that anyone can be
harming you.
It's like anything that anyoneis reflecting to me is me right.
I've shared with my friends, especially women, you know who

(01:19:16):
are like what do you do withthese?
Like geyser pervs, you knowthey keep on like coming up and
they're doing I'm like, I'm theperv.
That's how I do it.
I'm the perv.
I look in their eyes and I lookfor the light and I recognize
that the perv is coming from meand I watch them transform.
That's what happens there.
So healing means owning thisstrength and consciously giving

(01:19:39):
it back to the Holy Spirit forreinterpretation.
So this keeps you in a positionof empowerment all the time.
I made this fear with mycreative power.
We perceive it a lot.
We perceive that a lot, but Ican choose again and I can let
love use it right.
I could choose again right now.

(01:20:01):
So it's like, even if someoneyou know seems to have some
intentions, like my one friend,he's pretty bummed out that I'm
leaving.
He's looking for ways that hecan keep me here, you know, and
sometimes he'll say stuff I'mlike, hmm, are you going to

(01:20:22):
kidnap me?
You know, but just looking atit like, no, whatever fearful
energy I'm not going to befeeding into that fearful energy
.
Navigating the dream stillnaturally occurs.
That's not something where I'mI'm not saying I'm not tempting
the ego and say I'm going to putmyself in harm's way, for

(01:20:44):
instance, but it's noticing thatnothing that I perceive that's
fearful isn't coming from me,right?
So when misapplied, the powerfuels illusions.
When it's given to spirit, itshines as creation.
I see the innocence in people.

(01:21:04):
I had an Uber driver once.
He wasn't even speaking English.
I was using my app, thetranslator app, right, and I'm
in the car with him and he'smotioning to me that he wants to
spank my ass, right, and he'slike talking this way.
And he's like, and then heasked me are you afraid of me?
And I'm like and this is on anapp, like we don't speak the

(01:21:24):
same language.
I go.
No, I see you.
You same language.
So I go.
No, I see you, you're theperfect son of God.
And his whole vibe just changed.
It's like when you're afraid ofsomeone, when you're afraid,
you fuel an ego energy withinthem because their image is
coming from you.

(01:21:45):
So I see people shift reallyfast.
So I see people shift reallyfast.
Yeah, you're welcome.
I love you, all right.
Oh, here's a footnote thefallacy of depreciation,
footnote 141.
Okay, let me go to thisfootnote, all right.

(01:22:16):
So this is referring back tosection X, which was the last
section before the section we'rein right now, and it says the
fallacy of depreciation is theidea that destructive thoughts
do not matter as long as youdon't act them out.
Okay, so the fallacy ofdepreciation, it isn't about
being scared of thoughts.
It's about what you intend todo with them.
The error is saying thatdestructive thoughts don't

(01:22:37):
matter as long as I don't act onthem.
Let's say you're getting athought that, oh, I'd like to
rape that person, for instance.
Right, maybe you're like goinginto that thing, okay.
So what Jesus is saying here isthat you don't need to be
afraid of that thought becauseit's a miscreative thought, but
also don't think that it's notdestructive.
It's destructive Whenever yougo into any kind of fantasy.

(01:23:00):
That's destructive.
The truth is that every thoughthas a spark of creative power,
so it matters, not because itcan condemn you, but because it
shows you where your intentionis directed.
I've shared before the ego isbasically a murder and a perv,
and for the most part, peoplearen't looking at these thoughts

(01:23:22):
because they're afraid of them.
They don't want to see them.
So the choice is simple Look atthe thought as unimportant and
you keep it.
Oh, that's not important, I'lljust keep it.
And it fuels energy of fear, fuels fear in the world.
Offer it to the Holy Spirit, though, and the same energy is
redirected toward love.

(01:23:43):
So the sense like you know myfriend saying something like
this.
He said.
He said I'm going to roll youin a ball and put you in the
closet right.
So immediately I hear this andI just offer it to the Holy
Spirit.
I'm alone with this person andhe's saying this to me.

(01:24:04):
Immediately I hear this thoughtand I offer it to the Holy
Spirit and have it redirectedtoward love so the illusion can
dissolve.
So I'm not sitting therebecoming fearful and being like
what does he mean?
Stuff like that.
You know I'm not using it.
I'm not becoming fearful ofthis person.
I trust my brothers who are onewith me.
It's just, it's changing energy.

(01:24:24):
It's always changing energy.
So thoughts themselves, you know, and of course in miracles it
says no thought is neutral I'mgoing to just reframe this a
little bit that they arethemselves neutral until they're
aligned with intention.
So, or willingness, you couldsay so it's like will you will
with God.
The thought is an offeringwhere you're going to do it in

(01:24:46):
one way or the other.
That's the thing.
That's why Jesus is saying nothought is neutral, because
you're going to align intentionwith it in one way or the other.
That's why no thoughts areneutral.
Okay, but it's up to you whichway it goes.
So it's not the destructivethought.
That's the problem.
It's whether you dismiss it.

(01:25:06):
If you dismiss it, that'sdepreciation.
Or hand it over to the HolySpirit.
See, it's not like I'mrepressing that thought.
I'm actually noticing a senseof fear coming up in me and
going oh, I'm handing thisthought over to the Holy Spirit,
it's coming from me, I'mhanding it over to the Holy
Spirit.
I'm not repressing it, I'm notglossing over it.
I'm actually handing it over,I'm looking on it, I'm noticing

(01:25:31):
a fearful energy arising in meand I'm handing it over to the
Holy Spirit right there in thatmoment.
So the teaching lifts fear fromthoughts.
We don't want to be afraid ofour thoughts because their
meaning depends on the purposewe give to them.
Are we handing them over to theHoly Spirit or are we trying to
repress them?

(01:25:51):
Are we trying to make them likethey don't have power?
They do, they have power.
So the fallacy of depreciation, depreciating the underlying
power of the mind by justdismissing destructive thoughts
as if they're harmless.
That's not going to work.
The real question is what's myintention with this thought?

(01:26:13):
What will I do with it?
Will I see my brother as holy, harmless, no matter what I'm
hearing?
And bring that thought to thetruth, instead recognizing that
thought actually has power.
Right, when I'm getting a senseof fear coming up in my mind,

(01:26:34):
there's an underlying thoughtthat's giving that thought power
.
So I'm bringing it to the HolySpirit to reinterpret it for me,
and knowing that I'm alwaysheld in safety, total safety.
One friend told me, because Iwalk around here alone at night,

(01:26:54):
apparently, and oh, you're allright, you can defend yourself
and I go.
It's my defenselessness thatkeeps me safe, not that I can
defend myself, it's mydefenselessness.
That's actually what keeps mesafe.
Right, because I would bringall those kinds of fearful
thoughts to the truth.
All right, okay, I'm checkingyou guys out.

(01:27:21):
I love you.
Oh, thank you, thank you.
Thank you, aloha.
Okay, paragraph 13, sentencetwo Back to Freud.
We're not done with Freud yet.

(01:27:48):
Although Freud made a number offallacies of his own, he did
avoid this one in connectionwith psychic energy.
So, since Jesus is talking topsychotherapists, that's right.
Right, psychotherapists, he'stalking about Freud because they
study Freud.
So, although Freud made anumber of fallacies of his own,
so Jesus is acknowledging herethat Freud's errors in
understanding the mind,especially around sexuality,

(01:28:10):
repression and the source ofguilt.
So Freud located intimacy andfulfillment in bodily drives,
okay, rather than in the mind'scapacity for union.
So he was putting it in bodilydrives, he was putting it in the
body system, so his system wasnot free from distortion.

(01:28:30):
But what Jesus is saying, thatit did contain insights that
overlap with truth, like morethan others.
Okay.
So he's often critiquingpsychology for focusing on
symptoms in the past, but herehe's giving credit to Freud.
So, although Freud made a numberof fallacies of his own, he did

(01:28:52):
avoid this one.
So this one that he's talkingabout is the fallacy of
depreciation.
That means thinking destructivethoughts don't matter if
they're not acted out right.
So Freud was one of the onethat's prominent.
That actually goes thesethoughts are destructive whether

(01:29:14):
they're acted out or not.
So he was the one amongst manywho didn't know that they didn't
.
They didn't see it that way.
He correctly saw thatunexpressed thoughts and
repressed energy still haveeffects.
That's rare, right, that's rarein psychology.
And this actually wasn'tcarried forward.

(01:29:35):
What was carried forward, thatwas the other way of looking at
it, that you could just havemeaningless thoughts that have
no power.
So he recognized that psychicenergy isn't just erased because
you suppress it.
It continues to influence thepsyche in connection.
Okay, so then we go to the restof the sentence.

(01:29:56):
Although Freud made a number offallacies of his own, he did
avoid this one in connectionwith psychic energy.
So Freud's notion of psychicenergy aligns with A Course in
Mir miracles.
And then that's the teachingthat all thoughts carry force
because the mind is creative.
That's something Freud knew, even though he misinterpreted.

(01:30:20):
So this is where Freud took aturn.
That Jesus is saying, you know, wasn't helpful.
Freud misinterpreted the deepersource of this energy,
attributing it to instincts, which has to do with the body,
rather than the creative powerof mind, and that's why Freud
ended up bummed out.
He was all bummed out becausehe believed that we were trapped

(01:30:42):
, because he thought that it wascoming from the body.
He didn't realize it was comingfrom the creative power of mind
, coming from the body.
He didn't realize it was comingfrom the creative power of mind
.
But he did avoid the trap ofdismissing thought as
insignificant, which is what'sgoing on now in modern
psychology too.
It's just dismissed as if it'sinsignificant, as if it doesn't

(01:31:03):
carry psychic effects, as if itisn't making this world that we
perceive, the collective world.
So Jesus's perspective, withFreud's basic observation is
that thoughts and energies leftunexamined still have effects,
and that's in alignment with ACourse in Miracles and Jesus's

(01:31:27):
perspective here.
Where Freud erred was in tryingto manage the energy through
analysis or by locating causesin the past.
That's another thing that'sstill going on.
Mostly spiritual people aredoing that.
They're trying to locate acause in the past.
The ego loves this because itkeeps this cycle going.

(01:31:49):
Look to your childhood, look tobirthing, look to these
different things.
Jesus redirects this point.
He's saying psychic energy iscreative power and it's
misdirection, which ismiscreation, must be
acknowledged and then given tothe Holy Spirit for redirection.
It's just right now we'regiving it to the Holy Spirit for

(01:32:09):
redirection.
This is what we've been talkingabout.
Okay, so Freud avoideddepreciation, but he remained
trapped in other fallacies, namely, he's not recognizing
that true healing comes throughthe Holy Spirit, not therapy or
repression.
So, practically for us, don'tunderestimate unexpressed

(01:32:33):
thoughts.
They matter, not because theycondemn you it's not about
condemning anything but becausethey shape our perception.
Until they're redirected.
In the moment of now, they getredirected by the Holy Spirit.
I've given you some examples inmy own mind how that occurs.
They just get redirected.
So, like Freud observed, psychicenergy doesn't disappear with

(01:32:56):
repression but, unlike Freud'ssolution of analysis, a Course
in Miracles offers a higher wayreleasing the energy to spirit.
Okay, so this restores ourconfidence.
Nothing needs to be hidden ormanaged.
We don't need to hide fromthese thoughts.
Like I love to say, the ego isa murderer and a perv.

(01:33:18):
These are the kinds of thoughtsthat occur to us.
We don't need to be guilty orcondemned about this, even
destructive thoughts.
They're simply misdirectedenergy waiting to be healed.
Thoughts, they're simplymisdirected energy waiting to be
healed.
So, despite as many errors, freud saw that thoughts and
psychic energy can't bedismissed.
He avoided the fallacy ofdepreciation that's, making our

(01:33:48):
thoughts as if they don't matter.
A Course in Miracles agrees, but takes it further.
True healing comes not byanalyzing our thoughts, but by
handing them to the Holy Spirit, letting them be redirected.
This is the kind of redirectionwe need.
Okay, sentence three ofparagraph 13.

(01:34:11):
The later theorist denied thesplit energy concept, not by
attempting to heal it, but byreinterpreting it instead of
redistributing it.
This is a rich sentence.
We're going to start with thefootnote for clarification, and
this is let's see which footnoteis this?

(01:34:33):
Footnote 142, pronounclarification.
So there's three pronouns herebeing clarified, not by
attempting to heal it it beingthe split, but by reinterpreting
it again, it being the splitinstead of redistributing it, it

(01:34:54):
being the energy.
So let's get into that.
The footnote makes thisexplicit and this makes our
meaning the meaning here in thesentence sharper.
For us, the split in the mindwas not healed.
It's an imaginary split, butit's a split that we believe in.
Theorists reinterpreted the ideaof a split.

(01:35:16):
So the split is the desire forcreation and miscreation.
Creation and miscreation,that's the split.
So the theorists latertheorists they created new
theories to explain it.
They didn't actuallyredistribute the misdirected
energy back to love, which isreally the only way the healing

(01:35:40):
occurs.
So Jesus is insisting here thatthe split mind cannot be healed
by intellectualreinterpretation.
It comes through redistributionof the energy, because this is
psychic energy.
So it's withdrawing the powerfrom miscreation and bringing it
over to the spirit.

(01:36:00):
The way A Course in Miraclesputs it a lot of times is
bringing your illusions to thetruth, so they can be
neutralized by failing toredistribute it.
Later, psychology left theconflict intact, relabeling the
problem without undoing theproblem.
So in daily life we tend tofall into the same trap.

(01:36:22):
Reinterpreting the split lookslike this it's explaining away
fear or guilt with psychologicaltheories like this is because
of my childhood.
Okay, that's explaining it away.
That's taking away your powerto have that energy
redistributed, bringing it totruth.
Okay, reinterpreted by the HolySpirit.

(01:36:46):
Reinterpreted by the HolySpirit.
Or this is my attachment style, that's a new one that people
say, oh, your attachment styleis this Like we like to analyze
and diagnose our attachmentstyle.
This is my attachment style.
This is the way I'm like, this.
This is why I act like this.
For instance, what Jesus issaying is bring it to the truth.

(01:37:06):
You know, quit explaining awayyour fear, bring it to the truth
right now.
Redistributing the energy iswhen we actually give the
fearful thought to the HolySpirit, so we're allowing that
energy to be redirected intolove right now.

(01:37:27):
So later theorists did anattempt to heal the split in the
mind.
They reinterpreted the splitconceptually, leaving that
misdirected energy untouched.
So Jesus is pointing out thatonly redistribution of energy
from fear to love is what healsthe mind.

(01:37:47):
So healing in A Course inMiracles is where fear becomes
love.
It's a transformation from fearto love in your mind.
So sentence four, paragraph 13.
This placed them in theillogical position of assuming

(01:38:08):
that the split which theirtherapies were intended to heal
had not occurred.
So this placed these latertheorists denying the split
energy concept.
That's in the previous sentence.
The later theorists created acontradiction.
The later theorists created acontradiction.

(01:38:31):
Their frameworks for therapylost coherence because they
denied the condition they'retrying to address.
That's what they're still doing.
They're denying the condition.
The condition is a splitbetween creation and miscreation
in the mind and trying toaddress it differently, like,
say, going to the childhood.
This placed them in theillogical position of assuming
that the split which theirtherapies were intended to heal.

(01:38:54):
Their therapeutic methods weremeant to resolve inner conflict,
fear and guilt.
That's what they're meant to do.
Those are symptoms of the splitmind.
Though, by rejecting thereality that we made of this
split in psychic energy betweencreation and miscreation, they
undermine the foundation oftheir own work.

(01:39:14):
So this placed them in theillogical position of assuming
that the split with which theirtherapies were intended to heal
had not occurred.
So, in effect, they're treatingsomething they're claiming
doesn't exist, and Jesus issaying this is illogical.
If there's no split, what isthe therapy for, right?

(01:39:36):
What are we doing this therapyfor?
We're depreciating the power ofthe mind to choose between
creation and miscreation andmaking it about the past.
So he's highlighting thefutility of these therapies.
This is why there's stillappearance of conflict and war
and sickness and death in theworld.
Because our therapies are notreally going to the root of this

(01:40:01):
.
We're investing, stillinvesting, creative energy in
miscreation, even in therapy.
So true healing rests onacknowledgement that we're
dealing with a split mind.
We're dealing with a splitbetween creation, one part
aligned with spirit, one partmisaligned with ego.
That's what we're dealing withand when we're aware of that,
we're actually doing therapy.
This is actually psychotherapyand we're bringing it to the

(01:40:25):
spirit.
And of course, in miracles itsays all therapy is
psychotherapy.
That includes block therapy.
All therapy is psychotherapy.
So denying the split meansdenying the problem, denying the
actual need for healing.
That's what the mind does.
This is why psychology, when itrefuses the concept of split

(01:40:47):
energy, becomes circular.
It explains without resolvinganything.
So A Course in Miracles isredirecting us.
It's saying Jesus is saying youmust acknowledge the split in
order to allow it to be healed.
You must acknowledge this.
So practically, if you pretendthere's no inner conflict, you
cannot heal.

(01:41:07):
If you pretend there's no innerconflict, you cannot heal.
You know, if you just like, letthis sense of worry, sense of
fear, anything like that, justnot be examined as in where is?
Where am I making miscreation?
True, you can't heal Therapiesthat minimize destructive

(01:41:29):
thoughts as not.
Important are just the, or justthe unconscious?
Oh, that's just the unconsciousworking itself out.
That's falling into this trap.
Healing begins by recognizingyes, yes, the split seems real
to me.
If I got an upset feeling, thesplit seems real to me right now
, then instead of analyzing it,we let the spirit real to me

(01:41:50):
right now.
Then, instead of analyzing it,we let the spirit redistribute
the energy for us.
We look at it and let thespirit redistribute it by
denying the split.
Later therapies becameillogical, trying to heal
something they simultaneouslyclaimed didn't exist.
So we're being taught now thathealing begins with recognizing
the apparent split and thengiving it over to the Holy

(01:42:10):
Spirit for true correction.
This is what we want.
This is what we want.
Thank you, lovelies, thank youfor joining.
Yay, all right, okay, I got afew more minutes.
Paragraph 13, sentence 5.
The result of this approach isessentially a form of hypnosis.

(01:42:34):
Okay, and we'll start with thefootnote, footnote 143.
The implication seems to be,that patients are essentially
hypnotized into believing thatthe basic conflict in them does
not exist, though it clearlydoes.

(01:42:56):
Okay, so this footnote isclarifying what Jesus means by
hypnosis Patients beinghypnotized into believing
something that's not true.
In other words, therapies thatreinterpret instead of heal end
up masking the split instead ofundoing the split.
This is hypnosis, because themind is lulled into a false

(01:43:20):
suggestion.
You are not conflicted, basically, if you're perceiving
a body, you're conflicted.
It's coming up all the time.
It's coming up all the time.
It's coming up all the time.
Thoughts are occurring to youall the time.
The basic conflict betweencreation and miscreation.
That's what this whole chapteris about the basic conflict

(01:43:41):
creation and miscreation.
It's very real within the dream.
To deny it not healing.
It's deepening the trance ofseparation.
That's why he's calling ithypnosis.
It's actually deepening thetrance of separation.
Hypnosis is symbolic of theentire world.
We're hypnotized into believingthe split is normal or

(01:44:04):
non-existent.
It's not normal when in factit's the root of all suffering.
We want to see this and undo it.
Jesus calls this out so clearly.
Okay, because true healing onlybegins when we admit yes, I do
seem to be conflicted and I'mwilling for it to be healed.
That's my willingness that'saligned with God.

(01:44:26):
If we're perceiving Bodies on atrajectory from birth to death
right now, we're conflicted, ourmind is conflicted.
There's something to be doneabout this and that is the real
vocation of the mind here, whilewe're dreaming.
It's the only vocation of themind and that's why I like to
focus on this, because I knowit's undoing the dream for

(01:44:51):
everyone.
So, in your own practice, beaware of the temptation to
soothe fear by explaining itaway.
Here's an example.
It's fine, there's no conflictin me.
A lot of the times I'm walkingaround and people are trying to
convince me that they'reenlightened.

(01:45:11):
It's fucking awesome, all right, yeah Well, you know, you know
you could say that enlightenmentis realizing.
I'm conflicted right now becauseI'm perceiving bodies on a
trajectory from birth to deathand you're aware and you're
alert and you're ready to makemiracles.

(01:45:33):
Right, it's fun, it's like we,but we tend to soothe ourselves
into this lulling, you know, trying to make it an image, a
self image, of an enlightenedperson, and this is just taking
away this whole vocation of themind that we need to be alert
right now.
See, these thoughts areoccurring to us, these

(01:45:56):
miscreation thoughts areoccurring to us all the time.
They're projecting a wholeworld.
That's not true, right.
So to be alert, to be on guard, like Jesus says, to be awake to
this.
We're not trying to make aspiritual self-image that
everyone can worship.
We actually want to see theseillusions dissolve before our

(01:46:18):
eyes.
Don't rest until you're donewith that.
You'll know.
When you're done with that, you're going to see beams of
light here instead of bodies.
Okay.
Beams of light here instead ofbodies Okay.
True practice is to notice theconflict and say, yes, I see the
split in my mind.
There it is again.

(01:46:39):
There it is again.
There it is again.
Holy Spirit, I give thismisdirected energy back to you,
and you know what happens is youjust feel so much more alive
and instead of hoping thatpeople will see you as
enlightened, what you do is youstart seeing the enlightenment
in everyone else.
You start seeing them as beamsof light instead of them as

(01:47:00):
something that's a body thatyou're trying to get attention
from.
It's a totally different thing.
You start seeing God ineverything.
Recognizing God is in your mind, right, that's how the sight
changes to Christ's sight.
This is redistribution.
This is not hypnosis, okay.

(01:47:20):
So therapies that deny thesplit are a form of hypnosis
Convincing patients.
There's no basic conflict.
That's a form of hypnosis.
There is a conflict herebetween creation and miscreation
constantly going on.
But the conflict is clearlyexisting in the dream.

(01:47:40):
Healing just requiresacknowledging it and handing it
over to the spirit.
So all right.
One more Says we got six minutesleft.
I'm going for sentence six witha footnote.
This is quite different fromFreud's approach, which merely

(01:48:00):
ended in a deadlock, footnote144.
The deadlock Freud referred towas the ongoing tension between
the id, instinctual drives likeego and aggression, and the
superego, internalized moralauthority.
So that was the conflict thatFreud identified.

(01:48:22):
Okay, his solution was nothealing by managing conflict.
Solution was not healing bymanaging conflict, balancing
these two forces so a personcould function in society.
That's what he was into.
Freud essentially concluded thatthe best outcome a human could
achieve was to become awell-adjusted neurotic.

(01:48:42):
That's why he was bummed out.
He was going around like that.
He's like the best you can dois being a well-adjusted
neurotic, because you've gotthese instinctual drives coming
from the body and then you'vegot the superego, this
internalized moral authority, and they're always in conflict.
So Jesus is saying the basicconflict is way different.

(01:49:04):
From Jesus's standpoint.
This is tragic because itaccepts the split mind as
permanent.
What Jesus is saying?
Yes, acknowledge the split mind, while we're perceiving
illusion, but it's not permanent.
Freud's deadlock reflectsresignation.
The ego and superego are at warand peace is impossible.

(01:49:26):
The only cure is learning totolerate the tension.
That's how Freud looked at it.
But Jesus is rejecting thiscompromise entirely.
He's saying healing is notabout adjusting to neurosis.
We're not adjusting to it,we're undoing it.
We're actually undoing thesplit.
That's why we become more andmore joyful and energetic and

(01:49:48):
apparently vital.
Apparently, sickness doesn'tseem to be a thing for us.
Conflict doesn't seem to be athing for us, and that's because
we're using our mind for thetrue vocation that it is and
that's returning all the energyto love.
So this is not a hopeless case.

(01:50:10):
So, practically speaking,ego-based approaches are saying
this is just the human condition.
You'll always be conflicted.
The best you can do is cope.
That belief keeps us bound inneurosis.
So when you have that beliefand you see why people want to

(01:50:33):
develop an enlightenedself-image because they want to
get out of that they want to sayI'm beyond all of this stuff,
even though they're stillperceiving a dream, right?
So we're hypnotizing ourselvesinto thinking conflict is the
mind's nature.
It's not so a course inmiracles.
And Jesus is offering ussomething radically different

(01:50:55):
True healing, not management.
When energy is redistributed tothe spirit, the conflict
dissolves.
So Freud's approach ended indeadlock, the id and the
superego locked in this endlessstruggle.
His solution was adjustment, not healing, leaving humanity

(01:51:17):
resigned to neurosis.
You can see why the othertheorists developed something
else Just repressing this thing, lying about it all together
because it was so unhappy.
But what Jesus is giving usinstead is saying this split can
be healed and peace is possiblenow.

(01:51:39):
And that's where we're endingtoday.
Yay, so we made it throughparagraph 13 today, and when we
come back in I guess it's threeweeks, because I'm taking two
weeks off I guess it's threeweeks.
When we come back in threeweeks, we're going to start with

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
