(01:00):
We're a new connection.
Um, and I just know that he'sgonna have so much goodness to
share with you guys today.
So thanks for being here.
Would you share a little bitabout yourself before we get
into your story?

SPEAKER_01 (01:11):
I appreciate you having me.
Um, yes, super excited to talkto you today.
Um a little bit about my story.
Um, well, um I um I grew up innorthwest Pennsylvania.
Um, I would say that thatparticular town has been
depressed um for a very longtime.

(01:33):
Um my oldest brother um used toget in trouble a lot with the
law.
And what I found was early on, Idon't know if it was
subconsciously or consciously, but he was just seeking
attention for his parents.
And um, he sought attention bygetting in trouble and thought
that's the way to do it.
And I saw that and I said, Idon't want to do that.

(01:55):
Right.
That sounds crazy, or that lookscrazy to me.
Like, I don't want to be that.
And so what I ended up doing isthat somehow I started playing
hockey and I realized that Icould get attention by scoring
goals.
And so what I did is I justscored more goals and I got more
attention.
And so I I really just um youknow, over the years, people say
I'm like I have a lot of talent.
I really don't think I havetalent, I just think that I've

(02:16):
early on I just just tried toscore more goals, honestly.
Like I just try to go after it,and uh just through repetition,
I I got good at catching andpassing and running and throwing
stuff.
And so um so I got pretty goodat hockey.
And so I went to um um afterhigh school, I went up to Ottawa
and played, and then I playedfor Cleveland and played four

(02:38):
years in Germany, and um throughthe crazy world of hockey, which
I think you have some experiencewith being a hockey role there.
Um, I got um when I was playingfor Cleveland, I got a slap shot
in the face that shattered mynose in three different
directions, deviated septum, kept the nerves in my teeth in
my mouth.
And um, I fell.

(02:58):
If you know for your listenersout there, if you know the
hockey rank, but um it was rightat the top of the blue line, and
I was I was going in and and thepuck hit me like right at the
blue line, and then I fell to myknees and blood was coming out
of my nose.

SPEAKER_07 (03:12):
Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_01 (03:13):
So I skid right into the goal line, and the trainer
comes out.
This is in Kalmazou K-WingStadium and um with the white
towel and puts it on my nose, and and um by the time I got
back to the bench, the towel wasred, completely red.
And so that was the time,Kristen, that I really for the
first time in my life, I said,Lord, this stinks, man.

(03:34):
What what are we?
I need to do something with mylife because this ain't it.

SPEAKER_03 (03:37):
Oh wow, and that was the moment you had that
epiphany.
Yeah, I mean, it was it was inin the blood going everywhere
moment.

SPEAKER_01 (03:46):
Yeah, I mean, it was definitely like you know, I
think the Lord has you know beenthere for more subtle ways for
sure.
I got it with one not so subtle.
Wow, the worst of it though waswas um I wasn't I they put like
three yards of gauze up eachnostril, and so they had these
tubes I was supposed to breatheout, but they got jammed up with

(04:06):
like snot.
And so I wasn't smart enough togo back to the Cleveland Clinic,
so I just kind of grind throughit, and so at night my tongue
would crack and bleed.
It was awful.
Um and so I ended up goingoverseas and playing, but that
was really when I was I wasreally was my first real prayer
of Lord, do something with mylife.

SPEAKER_03 (04:28):
Wow, and how old were you at that time?

SPEAKER_01 (04:31):
I was 20.

SPEAKER_03 (04:32):
Okay, and at that point were you a believer?

SPEAKER_01 (04:36):
I was I was not a believer.
I mean, I was a believer, Ireceived Jesus when I was 16,
but I really wasn't a practicingChristian.
You know, this was the firsttime where I was like, I need to
depend on the Lord here.

SPEAKER_03 (04:48):
Wow, and in in that realm were there a lot of
believers around you?

SPEAKER_01 (04:52):
Like no mentors, no believers, nothing, there was
nothing there for me.

SPEAKER_03 (04:59):
Okay, so what happened next?

SPEAKER_01 (05:02):
So I go overseas and play hockey in Germany.
Um, I I've been married for 25years, I met my future wife
there, which was awesome.
She was from Pennsylvania, I wasfrom Pennsylvania, it was a
total God thing.
Wow, that's a whole story of it.
That's another whole story,yeah.
Um, and so with her, you know, just committing, you know, we
both kind of committed and say,you know what, let's let's do

(05:24):
this Jesus thing together.
And so that's when we starteddown the path of you know, you
know, really just studying theword.

SPEAKER_03 (05:33):
Yeah.
So what did that look likethough?
Because you know, the Jesusthing is it can be a whole
thing.
Like, did you have people thatstarted coming alongside you?
Did you step into church?
Like, what did that look likefor you together as a couple,
even?

SPEAKER_01 (05:47):
I I feel like I'm just kind of like a knucklehead,
honestly.
Like it was a very slow burn, you know, got it to wake me up
with a slap shot in the face, but it was kind of a slow burn
of let's do life, let's do lifething, the Jesus thing together.
But it really wasn't until aboutfive years later after that.
I mean, we were definitelymaking decisions and follow the

(06:07):
Lord, but it wasn't until Ireally started uh M is Good in
November of 2001, where reallyjust my commitment to the Lord
took off.

SPEAKER_03 (06:16):
Okay.
Tell me more about M is Good forthose.
There's they're like, What is Mis Good?

SPEAKER_01 (06:23):
Yeah.
So um the original name wasMarketing Ministries.
Um, and so they had that namefrom November 2001 to 2010.
I pivoted the the company to Mis Good in 2000 from 2011, 2013.

SPEAKER_07 (06:36):
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (06:37):
Um, and so I kind of want to go back to how I started
the company because that's kindof a fun story.
So um, this was like in June of2000.
Um I was done with hockey.
I was I had an identity crisis.
I really didn't know.
I felt like I was on a curb in acity I'd never been in because
I've always been a hockeyplayer.

SPEAKER_06 (06:58):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (06:59):
And I I really didn't like myself, honestly.
I I just didn't like who I was.
I I was I had this thought like,if I was friends with me, would
I like me?
And I was like, no, I wouldn't.

SPEAKER_03 (07:11):
Right.
That's a good question foryourself.

SPEAKER_01 (07:14):
Like, I don't know that I'd like me.
And so I knew there wassomething wrong.
And and I knew that like Ineeded I needed a change.
And this seed of um, you know, the of Jesus was inside of me,
and I and I prayed a prayer.
So I leave hockey, it's June of2000.
Um, and I and I found myselfworking for a TV station in

(07:38):
Raleigh, North Carolina.
And um I I was just frustrated.
I was I was just frustrated withlife and who I was, and I just
prayed a prayer right there inmy cubicle.
And and uh I found myselflooking at this list of clients,
Christian clients that are onthe TV station.
I said, Oh, I'm gonna start anad agency.

(07:58):
What do I call it?
And I didn't hear an audiblevoice, but the words marketing
ministries drop into my spirit, and I was like, Wow, that's a
really dumb name.
And I so I didn't know what todo.
So I I hired a lawyer, and um,and so the lawyer came to see if
the name was available.
The lawyer came back and says,It's available.

(08:19):
I'm like, Oh my gosh, Lord, that's maybe you're not so dumb.
This is awesome.

SPEAKER_03 (08:24):
We we might use this dumb name.

unknown (08:26):
Exactly.

SPEAKER_01 (08:27):
Because I thought marketing and ministries like
two common words, likesomebody's done this before,
right?
Apparently nobody's had.
Yeah, and so um, so I startedthe company.
So I went to those 30 clients Isaw, and they and this was in
June, and um, and they said,Dave, we're with you.
This is awesome, let's go.
So I thought this is great, it'sgonna be easy.

(08:50):
So I started the company inNovember 2001, and I go back to
those clients and I say, Hey,I'm here, I started.
And they're like, Uh, youstarted what?
You told me you were with me.
No, we're not with you.

SPEAKER_02 (09:03):
Oh man.

SPEAKER_01 (09:05):
So that first year was rough.
Yeah.
Um, so an agency makes 15%commission off of media spend.
At least that's what that's thebusiness model at the time.
And and uh that first year webuilt$15,000.
Wow, 15% of$15,000 is terrible.

SPEAKER_03 (09:24):
And were you still working?
No job at that time.
So you you went all in.

SPEAKER_01 (09:30):
I went all in.

SPEAKER_03 (09:31):
You jumped off the cliff.

SPEAKER_01 (09:32):
Yep.

SPEAKER_03 (09:33):
Okay, just had to find out if that was the case.

SPEAKER_01 (09:37):
Yeah, I know.
You yeah, I took that leap offaith.
In fact, I I went into theoffice.
I don't tell many people thisdeep of the story, but I went
into the office and told ageneral sales manager that I'm
gonna go serve the Lord.
Wow, and um, and I I was brashat the time, but I said, I'm
gonna go work Tuesdays andThursdays, and I'm gonna depend
on the Lord for my for my food.

(09:59):
And um, I'll see you later.
He said, Can you give me 15days?
I said, I'll give you 15seconds.
I'm out of here because I'mgoing with the Lord.

SPEAKER_06 (10:09):
Wow.

SPEAKER_01 (10:10):
And I'll never, Chris, I'll never forget this.
I leave that sales office, andlike my wife was waiting for me
because we only had like onecar.

SPEAKER_06 (10:19):
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (10:20):
And she swings the door open.
I sit down.
I was like, and she looks at meand she says, Welcome to the
life of the living.

SPEAKER_03 (10:28):
Welcome to the life of say that one again.

SPEAKER_01 (10:30):
Oh my god, that was yeah, welcome to the life of the
living.
And I was like, I love you, you're so awesome.
And so I was such aninspiration.
I thought, I'm gonna build this.
I don't know what I'm doing, butI'm gonna go do it.
I'm not giving up.
So that that second year webuild like$30,000.
The third year was I think$200,the fourth year was$800, and

(10:53):
then like we've never lookedback ever since then.
So it took about four and a halfyears to build it.
Um, and so it was really just aa media buying agency um that
had some video production um toit.
So so yeah, that's the kind ofthe beginning stories of of

(11:13):
marketing ministries, and thenso Can I go back for a second?
Yes, yes, please.

SPEAKER_03 (11:18):
So your wife, your wife obviously fully supported
you those first couple years.
Like, what did that look liketangibly to continue to walk in
faith and keep going, despitewhat you saw on paper, right?
What did that look like for youand and for your wife too?

SPEAKER_01 (11:40):
Yeah, so the good news is like we didn't have
kids, so there wasn't thepressure to you know feed my
kids.
I, you know, we ate some ramennoodles and some PBJ, but she
was she was working at thehospital full time as a
perfusionist, so she was runningthe heart and lung machine
during open art surgery.
So at the time it was it waspretty good money.
So I you know, I I try toremember back, and I just, you

(12:05):
know, you're you have boys, Ithink, that play hockey, right?
And like hockey is the sport oflike you gotta get up early,
it's just you gotta grind, youknow, it's pri it's how many
practices a week.
That was in me.
Yeah, and and so I just knew Ihad to go through the process
and grind.

(12:25):
I knew I had to show value.
I knew because you know, Iplayed pro hockey too, so I was
like, if I don't show value, I'mnot gonna play.

SPEAKER_07 (12:32):
Right.

SPEAKER_01 (12:33):
You know, you don't just automatically get on the
power play.
You gotta be good to be on thepower play, and you gotta, you
know, you gotta produce.

SPEAKER_06 (12:39):
Yes.

SPEAKER_01 (12:40):
And so I just knew something that I I had to
produce, and I knew I wasputting pieces together in order
to make that happen.
And I don't know, I and I Iwasn't a marketing guy, you
know, I was a guy that wasfollowing Jesus that like you
know was a hockey guy, you know.

SPEAKER_03 (12:57):
So you literally didn't have any marketing
experience?
Zero for this.
Okay, so no marketingexperience, and the Lord calls
you to start a marketing topic.
Yep.
Love it.
Okay.
So we covered year one and two, walking in faith, continuing on.
You've got it in you to keepgoing.

(13:19):
Um, were there any moments thatyou did kind of question, or did
you have people coming into yourworld?
Like, what are you thinking?
What are you doing?
Did you have any of those peoplecome along?
I think of Nehemiah and thosethat were just like, you know,
trying to get him off the wall.
Did you have any people likethat come in your world?

SPEAKER_01 (13:39):
So back to the story of I knew I didn't, I didn't the
answer is yes, I did.
Um, because it was back to Ididn't like who I was.
And so I actually met a guynamed Derek at Taco Bell.

SPEAKER_07 (13:52):
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (13:53):
And uh this is this is such a God story, right?
This is crazy, right?
Met him at Taco Bell, and wejust started talking.
And I was very transparent withhim.
I started this agency, like, this is what I'm doing, you
know, it's not going very well.
And I kind of told him I don'tlike myself.
And he said, Well, this is backbefore social media.
He said, You know, if you don'tlike yourself, ma'am, I'll give

(14:14):
you 30 books to read.
Turn off the TV and read these30 books.
And I said, Okay.
And so um, that's what I did.

SPEAKER_03 (14:24):
Wow.

SPEAKER_01 (14:25):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (14:26):
And so you're gonna tell us your favorite book then,
at least of the of the 30.

SPEAKER_01 (14:31):
There's so many good ones in there.
I mean, he um how to win friendsand influence people, you know,
that's a classic.
Um, I think about um The GoGetter, that was in there.
Of course, the Bible was inthere.
Um The Carpenter by John Gordon, that was in there.
My father's business, Rich Dad,Poor Dad, Rich God, Poor God.

(14:56):
Um uh The Millionaire Next Door, like just all these like
self-image books, sure, yeah, and success books, yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (15:06):
Okay, and so who was he?
Did you just randomly meet him?

SPEAKER_01 (15:09):
Like randomly met him.

SPEAKER_03 (15:10):
Was he a cashier?
Like, who was he?

SPEAKER_01 (15:13):
He was actually the story is he was an amway.
Oh, he was an amway guy.

SPEAKER_03 (15:19):
Okay, interesting.
And so was he just sitting downand you met him, or were you
guys getting tacos at the sametime?

SPEAKER_01 (15:25):
And the we were getting tacos at the same time,
and he was looking to build hisAmway business, and um, you
know, he was just introducinghimself.

SPEAKER_03 (15:33):
Oh wow, yeah, so incredible.
So you had this like moment ofbeing taught through a guy that
you meet at Taco Bell.
Um what was like the mostimpactful um lesson you learned
through the books to get youlike moving into a different
trajectory in business?

(15:54):
Gosh, what this identity piece,right?

SPEAKER_01 (16:36):
It's such a great question.
I there's so much there.
I think it just reshaped mywhole mindset, you know, of like
a checkup from the neck ofeverything that I thought was
the way to win was wrong.
Like I was open to change, I wasopen to the idea that the way

(16:58):
I'm thinking may not be working.
In fact, I knew it wasn'tworking, so I was just open to
to change, and so you know, Ijust realized that I came from a
place of poverty, you know, andI think that now I look back on
it, I think it's a spirit.
And so, you know, I I do believeI've told my family this

(17:20):
multiple times.
I do believe I broke agenerational curse.

SPEAKER_03 (17:24):
Yeah, absolutely.
So you're a breaker in yourfamily, and being a breaker
comes with some breaking.
Did you have some breakdownsalong the way?

SPEAKER_00 (17:37):
Never, never, never oh man, so many breakdowns.
It's hard to count.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (17:48):
Which breakdown could you share with us that you
just saw God show up in likemiraculous ways?

SPEAKER_01 (17:55):
So back to your your earliest question of M is Good.
So the original name wasMarketing Ministries, and I knew
I wanted to rebrand because Ihad got a prophecy hit me in
2009.

SPEAKER_06 (18:08):
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (18:08):
Not a very prophetic person, but I've seen it happen
multiple times because we, youknow, at M is Good, we represent
a a lot of different Christianorganizations around the world.
And so at the time we were veryheavy into the church.

SPEAKER_07 (18:22):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (18:23):
And um, and so I've been to a lot of different
churches from Methodist, um,Baptist, Pentecostal, you know,
that kind of side of things.
So I so I hadn't go over Germanyback again to meet a client.
I go to church and I get hitwith a prophetic word um from an
apostle.

SPEAKER_05 (18:40):
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (18:41):
And uh it rocked me.
And um, you know, my earsswelled up, my face got hot, I
fell to my knees, I passed outlike it was like an event.

SPEAKER_06 (18:52):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (18:52):
And through that prophetic word, I was really uh
debating whether or not to f toto follow it.
In fact, I sat on it for a year.

SPEAKER_06 (19:04):
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (19:05):
And I said, you know, I can choose to believe
this or I can choose not to.
And my current trajectory, I'mgonna choose to believe it.
So I went all in.

SPEAKER_06 (19:18):
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (19:18):
And so what became what is R seven today is part of
that prophecy.
And so R seven is what is yourthis is like what we take all
clients through.
It's our process that M is good.
But the first part is destiny.
What is my purpose?
So destiny is one of those wordsthat you know I call them
obligatory religiousphraseology.

(19:41):
It's some of these words thatyou know Christians use that
nobody know nobody understands.
And so destiny is one of those.
You know, destiny is short fordestination, but you know, our
ultimate destiny is to glorifythe Lord with our talents and
our abilities.

SPEAKER_06 (19:53):
Yes.

SPEAKER_01 (19:54):
So that's that's one.
Two is vision.
If anything I do really well, Ithink it's vision.
And so how to write it, how topull it out of someone, how to
pull it out of myself, how todrive it.
Um, you know, vision is a short, portable, easy understand,
memorable, inspiring statement.
It's seven, eleven words, noconjunctions.

(20:14):
So, what is the vision?
Three, we get into what is thisuh the strategy.
From there, we build the brand.
Next, we're gonna communicatethe brand, then we're gonna pray
about steps one through five.
Step seven, take action.
So I'm telling y'all this totell you that uh the miracle of
what happened through thisprophecy is God sent me.

(20:37):
Mentors in every one of thesesteps.

SPEAKER_03 (20:41):
Really?

SPEAKER_01 (20:41):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (20:42):
Like within that first year?

SPEAKER_01 (20:45):
Within about five years.

SPEAKER_03 (20:47):
Five years.

SPEAKER_01 (20:48):
Yeah.
So this was like 2009 to about2014-15.

SPEAKER_06 (20:54):
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (20:55):
Right as we're rebranding the company.

SPEAKER_06 (20:57):
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (20:58):
And bringing this R7 to life.
And I didn't know it till aboutmentor four.

SPEAKER_06 (21:03):
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (21:04):
Yeah.
I was like, oh my gosh.
Like, like, this is crazy.
And out of all this, we onlyreally had to pay for one of
them.

SPEAKER_03 (21:13):
Wow.

SPEAKER_01 (21:14):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (21:15):
So by mentor four, what what were you thinking by
mentor four?

SPEAKER_01 (21:22):
I'm like, this is crazy.
Like, like, this is not aboutme.
This is about a vision that Godhas that needs to get out.
And I'm just a this is gonnasound bad, but I just like I'm
just a pimple on the ass of lifehere, you know, like making
things happen.
Like, I'm just I gotta know thatI'm I'm I'm just part of his

(21:46):
plan.
I'm not the plan, you know whatI mean?

SPEAKER_03 (21:48):
Yes.
Because wouldn't you say a lotof people maybe in business the
business world unfortunatelystart to think it's all about
them over the years?
Would you could you kind ofspeak to that a little bit?
Because I I don't know, I feellike somebody wants to hear
about that.

SPEAKER_01 (22:07):
This is this is a really good question because I
just wrote a book on this.

SPEAKER_03 (22:11):
Oh, perfect.
See, I didn't know.
I like I didn't know this.
I like to be surprised.
So let's hear more about this.

SPEAKER_01 (22:20):
Yeah.
So this will be my fourth book.
It's not gonna come out tillprobably July 4th of next year.

SPEAKER_03 (22:27):
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (22:28):
Freedom to I just I just wrote it and it's now with
my editor.
And I'm you know, my editor'sgonna kick my butt on it.
I know that for sure.

SPEAKER_02 (22:37):
And and why is that?
Just I I just gotta know.
Kick your butt on what on what?

SPEAKER_01 (22:42):
Um, well, I like this is my fourth book, so I
just know like my my other twobooks I write really fast, and
then we start then really kindof fleshing everything out.
Okay, it just takes time to workon the character development and
stuff.
But so I've kind of boiled itdown to four things okay, of of

(23:03):
like that gets in the way ofdevelopment of like peak
performance.
And I call this flap.
Okay.
So flap stands for fear, lust, anger, and pride.

SPEAKER_03 (23:19):
Wow.
Those are some power-packedwords right there.

SPEAKER_01 (23:26):
And so your flap, your fear, your lust, your
anger, and your pride is likestress and anxiety.
It's not something that you getrid of, it's something that you
manage.
It's something that you're awareof.
Everybody struggles with theirflap, at least two things a day,

(23:48):
like you know, like your fear, lust, your anger, whatever, two
of those a day get you.
Um, it gets everybody.

SPEAKER_06 (23:57):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (23:57):
And so it's how do we navigate our flap?

SPEAKER_03 (24:03):
Wow.
That's powerful.
So obviously, you've walkedthrough this to get this
revelation because we don'ttypically hand out revelation
until we walked throughsomething and experienced it,
right?
Um, when did this come for you?
This flap, did he like were youtell us more about like getting

(24:24):
this revelation?
Like what happened?

SPEAKER_01 (24:27):
This was mentor two.

SPEAKER_03 (24:30):
Oh, mentor two, okay.
I like your mentors, they'regreat.
Yeah, thank you, mentors of Dr.
Dave.

SPEAKER_01 (24:36):
Thank you, mentors.
Um, and so this was mentor two.
So this is back probably 2014,somewhere in there, where this
hit me, and I just really beensitting on it for a while and
just really kind of testing itwith different clients and
different pieces throughout theyears, through through

(24:58):
different, you know, meetingsand different, you know, um
destiny sessions.
Um, I do a lot of destinysessions.

SPEAKER_06 (25:06):
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (25:06):
And so um I just really just and this is kind of
my first time like just puttingit together.
So it's been bacon for at leasta decade.

SPEAKER_03 (25:14):
Okay.
Yeah.
Wow.
So of these, like you have the Rseven and you've got these
different realms in each um, youknow, one through seven.
Which would you say, because doyou work with men and women or
oh yeah, yeah, which would yousay is most challenging for

(25:34):
people to grasp?

SPEAKER_01 (25:37):
Another great question.
I like so I I'm just gonna geekout on you for a second here.

SPEAKER_07 (25:42):
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (25:44):
The answer is the answer is vision.
Vision is really, really hard tofind.

SPEAKER_07 (25:51):
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (25:52):
Like really hard to find.

SPEAKER_07 (25:54):
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (25:54):
And so the reason is our brain loves what, where,
when, and how.
And this is in the neocortex ofour brain.
The amygdala formulates thewhat, where, when, and how, and
then just says fight or flight.

SPEAKER_03 (26:16):
Yeah, but then it goes to the fear too, right?

SPEAKER_01 (26:19):
Yeah, that's part of that.
And so vision is in theamygdala.
So this is the why.
And so it's so easy for us tosay, where do I need to be?
How long are we gonna be there?
How much is it gonna cost, right?
But then you talk about why.

(26:40):
It's really hard to pull thatout, just it just is.
Yeah, and so then you gotta pullthat out and you gotta say it's
a short, portable, easyunderstand, memorable, inspiring
statement that's seven, elevenwords, no conjunctions.
So now you have to take it andjust refine it.
Yeah, and most people don't wantto do that because the two

(27:06):
tenets of a human being are thepursuit of pleasure or the
avoidance of pain.
And so to get to that vision,it's it's rigorous, it's
detailed, it's committing, it'spersistent.
And so it's not impossible.
Um, I've done it a lot of times, but when you think about some of

(27:27):
the best visions out there, um Idon't mean to make this a
political statement, but it justworks because everybody's
familiar with it.
But if we go back to Obama'svision, change, yes, we can.
And if we go to who she ran orwho he ran against at the time,

(27:48):
John McCain, do we remember JohnMcCain's vision?

SPEAKER_03 (27:53):
No.

SPEAKER_01 (27:53):
No.
Because it wasn't good.

SPEAKER_03 (27:57):
What do you what was it?
Do you not know either?

SPEAKER_01 (28:01):
I no, I know.
You do it was uh country first.

SPEAKER_03 (28:05):
Country first.

SPEAKER_02 (28:06):
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (28:07):
If we fast forward to um Donald Trump, make America
great again, right?
Yes, and then who did he runagainst?
Kamala.
First time, Hillary the second,or Hillary the first time,
right?
Kamala the second time.
What was Hillary's vision?

SPEAKER_02 (28:26):
No idea.

SPEAKER_01 (28:28):
I'm with her.

SPEAKER_02 (28:30):
Oh okay.

SPEAKER_01 (28:32):
And what was Kamala's?
Good luck.
No idea.
See, this is what vision does.
It just, you know, when it'sshort, easy to understand,
portable, inspiring.
It's it's kind of like actuallyHabakkuk talks about this in
Habakkuk.
He's, you know, for those of thelistening that don't know the
story.

(28:53):
Um, Habakkuk is a minor prophet.
He's very frustrated with Godbecause at the time, Nineveh was
like was like New York and LosAngeles in the 70s.
Yeah, anything goes in Nineveh, and nobody wanted to go to
Nineveh because it was crazy.

SPEAKER_06 (29:10):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (29:11):
Crazy town.

unknown (29:12):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (29:12):
And so he goes up on this watchtower and he's like,
God, where are you?
Like, this is crazy.
I'm gonna sit here until youanswer my question.

SPEAKER_06 (29:20):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (29:20):
And God responds with write the vision on a
tablet.
And in the amplified, it says, make it plain so the runner
running by can see it and carryit with them.
And so the way I translate thisis that you and I are driving
down the interstate and we see abillboard that says McDonald's

(29:41):
next exit.
That's pretty easy.
We're hungry, we get off.

SPEAKER_07 (29:45):
Right.

SPEAKER_01 (29:46):
Right.
But if you have this billboard,it has all these words on it,
you can't read it, you don'tknow what it's saying.

SPEAKER_03 (29:51):
Right.

SPEAKER_01 (29:52):
So this is where like the vision everybody has
their.
I've had a pastor say, Dave,we're not gonna work on the
congregation's vision.
There's only one vision in here, and it's mine.

SPEAKER_02 (30:02):
Oh like, oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (30:07):
So everybody has vision.
You know, it's in there.
Um there's some debate therepsychologically and from a
research standpoint, like ifwe're born with it or is it
happened to us through trauma?
Um, that's debatable, but at theend of the day, it's there.

SPEAKER_07 (30:26):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (30:27):
And so getting that out so that we can have that.
I don't know if you rememberback, but like you remember the
the um Batman when he had like, you know, the commissioner
needed Batman and go to the topof the building and shine the
Bat logo, and Batman would showup.
That's the way I look like ourvision is.
It's like we have to we have toshow our vision to the world so

(30:47):
that people can show up and helpus accomplish the vision.

SPEAKER_03 (30:51):
That's good.
Say that again.

SPEAKER_01 (30:53):
So, like your vision is is for those of us older,
remember Batman, the oldBatman's where the commissioner
was struggling, something washappening.
And so he would go to the top ofthe building and he would he
would shine the Bat logo, theBatman logo, and then Batman
would show up.
Yeah, and so that's kind of likeour vision is like we need to we

(31:14):
need to communicate our visionto the world so that people can
help us.

SPEAKER_03 (31:18):
Yeah, that's so good.

SPEAKER_01 (31:19):
Um, so there's three problems of vision.
One, you don't have it, two, you're not communicating it, and
three, you don't believe in yourown vision.

SPEAKER_03 (31:26):
Wow.
So you get to be like aspiritual optometrist and help
people.
That's your vision, right?

SPEAKER_00 (31:34):
Something like that, yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (31:36):
Wow.
Well, this time has gone byreally fast.
I know we have to keep it alittle tight here today, but I
would love to have you backagain.
Um, I know you mentioned youhave a book coming out in July.
What's what's happening betweennow and then that people could
um tap into what you're puttingout there?
Um, what can people get involvedin?
How can they reach you?
We'd love to hear.

SPEAKER_01 (31:57):
Yeah.
So you can go to m isgood.com umon there.
Um, there's a let's chat, youknow, filling out you know the
contact form there and justlet's chat that goes right
directly to me if you want toreach out.
Um yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (32:11):
Awesome.
Well, this has been a joy.
Um, I would love for you to justthink of just the one who's
listening in today, if there'sanything else that you would
love to, um, any words ofencouragement or wisdom that
you'd love to speak over them.
And then would you pray us outtoday?

SPEAKER_01 (32:26):
Yeah, absolutely.
I I want to say that if you'relistening today, that no matter
what you're going through, thepeaks and valleys of the world
of the life that you're in, youknow that God is there and he
has a vision for your life.
And that whether it's really, really, you know, a deep valley
or you're on top of the peak, you know, there is a vision for

(32:47):
you.
And I just heard this the otherday, I thought was super
powerful.
That if you're thinking like ifyou're in a dark valley and you
think, man, there's no way out, this is not God, right?
This is this is the adversarytelling you there's only one
way.
When we really embrace our trueidentity in in Christ, the wall

(33:10):
has the room has no walls.
There's infinite choices andthere's infinite opportunity,
and that's the beauty of umbeing a Christian is that you
know, we got we have to glorifythe Lord with our talents and
our abilities in the peaks andin the valleys, and He is there

(33:31):
for you no matter what you'regoing through.

SPEAKER_03 (33:33):
Yeah, it's so good.
Oh my gosh.
Yeah, would you pray us out?
And then absolutely that wassuch a good word.
Thank you.

SPEAKER_01 (33:41):
Yes.
Um, thank you, Lord.
Except for the grace of God,there go I.
Um I just want us uh just uhjust pray a hedge of protection
over us, our family, ourfriends, our finances, over
Kristen's podcast, um her visionfor her her life and her
business.
Lord, I just so thankful for theopportunity to serve you and and

(34:05):
be in this moment today.
And and um, and uh those thatare listening out there, um,
just ask that you put as yourprotection over their family,
friends, and finances too.
In Jesus' mighty name we pray.

SPEAKER_03 (34:17):
Amen.
Thank you so much.
I'm gonna close with HopeUnlocked Anchoring Verse, which
is May the God of hope fill youwith all joy and peace and
believing, so that by the powerof the Holy Spirit you may
abound in hope.
And that's Romans 15, 13.
So thank you for being a bravevoice who's setting many free.
I will be back with anotherepisode next week.
Have a great day.
