Welcome Casey Solak to the show.
I am just very excited to haveher back.

(01:00):
This is her second time on.
We had her on back in April of2024 on episode 57, if you want
to go back and take a peek.
But, casey, would you bewilling to just share a little
bit about yourself for those whodidn't get a chance to listen
to you last year?

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Sure, Thanks for having me.
I'm so happy to be here and toget to talk to everyone about
the power of green smoothies.
They are so powerful and simpleand inspiring, and I am the
founder of SheShinesWellness andyou can find me at
SheShinesWellnesscom, where Iteach midlife women about the
power of green smoothies to helpthem lose weight, boost mood,

(01:41):
improve energy and supporthormone health All of the all of
the things that we women inmidlife need a little bit of
support around and um, and Ijust try to uncomplicate health
and take away the frustrationand the overwhelm that so many
of us experience and just reallyget back to the basics from a

(02:02):
faith-based perspective.
Read it in Christ so good.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
I mean everything you just shared.
I'm sure so many people arelike, yes, give me some credit.
So obviously you're a healthcoach and you know faith-based
health coach.
So how long have you been doingthis?

Speaker 2 (02:21):
I have been health coaching since 2012.
So it's been a.
It's been a minute.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
So, beyond health coach, who are you?
Who's Casey?

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Oh, I am a wife, married to my college sweetheart
for almost 30 years, live inTexas with my youngest daughter,
who just turned 17.
My oldest daughter grew up andis adulting well.
She got married a couple yearsago and is up in the Dallas area
living her best adult life.
And otherwise I just I love thesimple life and I love

(02:56):
connecting with people, buildingrelationships, spending time
with my family, learning aboutGod and growing closer in that
connection, minute by minute, day by day.
And that's who I am.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
So beautiful.
Well, since you've been on,what's been happening, what's
going on in your life?

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Well, let's see, I've kind of come full circle.
I deviated a little bit fromhealth coaching for a minute
there, but realized that I wason the wrong path and came back
to where I feel God really hasme planted and decided to give

(03:37):
up my own expectations of whathealth coaching and what this
business should look like andgive it all over to him and stop
.
I think releasing theexpectations and surrendering it
to him brings all of the funback into the business and makes
the connections that I make andthe women that I coach and
makes that an even more specialtime.

(03:59):
And so I'm back to leaning intoall that he has taught me about
health and all the things thatI keep learning about health in
order to share that with mycommunity, which is the she
shines um sisterhood on Facebookand um and so yeah, so that's

(04:19):
that's where I've been.
I feel like I've come fullcircle back into health coaching
, which is my first and truelove.
It's something that I enjoyimmersing myself in, but I do it
from a faith based perspective, which I think a lot of people
in holistic health world aren'tapproaching health from that way
especially.
I'm very plant strong and teachabout the power of plants for

(04:48):
nutrition, nourishment andhealth and midlife, and there's
a lot of people in thiscommunity who are not faith
based and plant strong, and so Ithink you can't have health
without having God in the middleof it and inviting your creator
into your health.
And he created your miraclemachine and he wants to be part
of your health.

(05:08):
He's part of every other aspectof your life, hopefully, but so
often we leave him out of ourhealth, and so that's the
perspective that I take with myhealth coaching and have since
2012 is that it's a faith-basedperspective rooted in Christ,
and that's how we approachhealth, and it always comes from
a place of love.
I think so many women get sofrustrated with themselves, with

(05:32):
their health.
There's lots of negativeself-talk going on, there's lots
of berating and it createsstress in the body, and that is
not how God wants us to approachour health.
He wants us to approach it froma place of love, respect and
peace, and he loves you.
He loves your miracle machine.

(05:52):
He created it and he wants youto love it too and honor it and
revere it and approach healthfrom that place rather than from
a place of frustration andstress, rather than from a place
of frustration and stress.
So this is what I love teachingabout.
This is why I've come fullcircle back into teaching and
coaching holistic health andgreen smoothies, because I think

(06:14):
this is a message that Godwants to get out into the world,
to Christian women and anyoneelse who will listen.
And keeping things inperspective where food is not
the end, all be all, god is andour relationship with Christ is
first and foremost.
And once we start getting thesethings in order, everything
else begins to fall into place.

(06:34):
It's kind of like most womencome to me because they want to
lose weight.
Well, weight is a symptom of anunderlying issue, an underlying
challenge, and you can focus onweight all you want, but if
you're not getting to the rootcause of what's going on there,
then it's going to be an uphillbattle and it's going to be a
losing battle and a frustratingone.

(06:56):
So getting to the root cause ofwhat's going on there is really
, really important and I thinkagain, approaching that from a
faith-based christianperspective, where god is in the
middle of it is the only way todo it yes, I, I absolutely
agree, I'm.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
I'm guessing you know we can kind of share a little
bit of your journey too in that, because, um, a lot of times
when we are I would call pitpullers, I call myself a pit
puller sometimes, right.
Some of the times we, some ofthe things we've walked through,
we often aren't going to goback and help others out with
right.
So what does your journey looklike in this realm?

Speaker 2 (07:35):
Yeah.
So in 2012, I was the furthestthing from a health coach.
I was building a business, adifferent business.
Back then, I had two youngchildren.
I was burning the candle onboth ends and I didn't think
about the power of food or whatfood meant or what it could do

(07:56):
for my health.
What happened is I ended up withwhat I thought was a spider
bite above my eyebrow and it wasthree little dots and I watched
it, over the course of a fewdays, grow and it looked like
I'd been hit by a baseball bat.
I figured well, it's a spiderbite, it's just working itself
out I know sometimes they swelland all this.

(08:18):
So I was waiting for it to calmdown and move along, but it
didn't calm down.
I eventually could feel it inthe lymph nodes on the side of
my neck and it scared me, and soI went to the doctor and I said
I think I have a spider bitethat's gotten out of control.
And he looked at my foreheadand he said that's not a spider
bite, that shingles.
What are you stressed out about?

(08:40):
That was his very next questionto me was what are you stressed
out about?
And he didn't have time tolisten to everything I was
stressed out about.
But the point was made that thestress that I was under, which
was building a business, raisinga young family, burning the
candle on both ends, nevertaking time for myself,
stressing my body out with thefood that I was putting in it,

(09:01):
which was typically low fat, nofat bagels, sonic, dr Pepper,
chick-fil-a, those types ofthings, an occasional salad if I
was trying to be good and Irealized that I was stressed out
on all levels and that wasmanifesting itself physically
through shingles, and I wasn'tyet 40 at the time.

(09:22):
The only people that I knewthat had shingles were my
grandparents, and that was thewake up call that I needed to
focus on my health.
And so my mom sent me to a class.
It was a three day class onkidney health and I thought that
is going to be the most boringclass on the planet.

(09:43):
And she said I will babysit thekids and you go to this class.
And I said, okay, if you'llbabysit the kids, I'll take the
time off.
So I went to the class.
It changed my life.
I realized that this body thatGod gave us, ever since then I
have I've mentioned it herealready I've called it a miracle
machine, because that's what itis.
When you look at the human bodyand you see how it functions

(10:06):
without us even having to thinkabout it, and how all the parts
play together and work soseamlessly as long as we're not
messing things up, it truly isamazing, and all I wanted to do
at that point was support mybody.
I wanted to help it do what itcould do, and and mainly because
I needed to live my purpose, which at that time was growing

(10:27):
this other business and raisingmy family without being I didn't
want to be sick all the time, with no energy, stressed out,
and so I knew that I needed toshift the nutrition I was
putting in my body and the way Iwas addressing stress, which I
wasn't back then, addressingstress which I wasn't back then.

(10:49):
And so I really dug in.
I went to the Institute forIntegrative Nutrition and became
a health coach and and thenalso furthered my education with
the psychology of eating andspecialize in psychology and
behavior change, new mindset, new behaviors, teaching women
how to, how to create that intheir life.
And so, yes, it was my own, myown adventure with health that

(11:10):
sent me down this path, and Iwas learning all of these things
.
And, um, my brother came downfrom Colorado and he said that I
needed to have a green smoothie.
And I didn't want to.
I thought it sounded disgustingand he said you have to have a
green smoothie, you are not well.
He said put the kids in theminivan.
We're going to the grocerystore, we're going to go pick up

(11:31):
the produce and all the thingswe need and we're going to have
a smoothie bar at mom's house.
And so we did, got all thethings, brought the kids back,
set them there on the counter.
We started throwing things inthe blender and he was showing
me how to make smoothies.
Counter he.
We started throwing things inthe blender and he was showing
me how to make smoothies.
And then he said okay, it's nowtime for a green smoothie.
And my kids were watching me.
So I had to be very brave andsip my first green smoothie and

(11:53):
act like I liked it.
But the funny thing is I didn'thave to act.
I actually did like it.
It was delicious and my wholelife changed with the sip of
that green smoothie.
It was a hallelujah moment.
Is is what I call it, because Iit was so easy to create, so
easy to clean up, so easy to todrink.

(12:14):
I it was delicious.
I could not believe that I hadlived my entire life and no one
had shared green smoothies withme, and it became my mission at
that time to take my Vitamixblender around town to make
green smoothies for people andshare them so they could see how
simple, how delicious, howinspired health can be.

(12:35):
Just by adding in one greensmoothie a day, you're getting
the fiber you need, thehydration, the vitamins,
minerals, the living enzymes.
So good, and it's healthinsurance in a glass is what I
call it.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
I love it.
Oh my gosh.
So are you still using the samerecipe that your brother?

Speaker 2 (12:54):
brought.
You know, I think it's probablybasics.
Yeah, it's probably changed alittle bit.
We did a lot of experimentingthat day with various fruits and
veggies and things like that.
What I like to start people offwith is a very mild and
delicious green smoothie, whichis typically with spinach, and
then fruit like banana and somepineapple, and then I have a

(13:19):
secret ingredient too, but Ilike to keep it super simple so
that people will do it and loveit, and then from there you can
experiment and have fun and justadd different things into your
smoothie, like things like maybecinnamon or ginger or lemon.
The combinations are endlessand I always say you're going to

(13:45):
make a green smoothie at somepoint that you hate we all have,
and that's okay, because you'regoing to make many green
smoothies that you will love andwill nourish your body.
You'll get all of that goodfiber in there and you're off to
the races and you can startdoing that one green smoothie

(14:05):
every day.
You're just gonna add in thatgreen smoothie and just watch
how your health begins to change.
It's beautiful.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
Yeah, I have to know.
Like what was the worst recipethat you ever?

Speaker 2 (14:17):
Oh, you know, um, I would say the worst would be.
So I love broccoli.
I'll just say that I love toeat broccoli.
I don't personally recommend itin a smoothie.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
I can't imagine.
It would be good.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
Some people really like it and they put it in there
and I just, I just don't.
I will eat raw broccoli everyday, all day, but I will not put
it in a smoothie.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
So stay away from broccoli, at least on your, on
your recipe Exactly.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
So here is the thing, though.
Here's how.
So one of the one of the waysto up-level your smoothie is to
use cruciferous veggies, likebroccoli, but not broccoli.
So kale, for instance, would bea great thing to put in your
smoothie.
Cruciferous veggies containsulforaphane, which is an
anti-cancer ingredient and sogood for us.

(15:14):
So the more cruciferous you canget, whether it's in your
smoothie or outside of yoursmoothie on a daily basis, the
healthier and happier you'regoing to be.
And the reason green smoothiesare so powerful is because not
only are they loaded with fiber, which nobody ever talks about
our need for fiber, which we doneed fiber, and I can tell you

(15:35):
why here in just a minute.
But um, but the this, I don'teven remember where I was going.
Let me just get onto the fiberfiber, fiber, fiber.
We, we as a, as a human race, don't get enough fiber in our
diet.
Everyone is so focused onprotein that they're missing out

(15:55):
on the fiber.
I, we, do need protein.
I will not deny that we don'tneed to overdose on protein.
I will say that.
And we need to be focused veryhighly on fiber because we have
to get our gut health in order.
We have to move our, our guthealth, so that we're regular
every day, so that we're movingtoxins and things out of the

(16:18):
body on a daily basis and sothat hormones aren't getting
recirculated into the body.
Fiber is really important and Isay 35 to 45 grams of fiber a
day is a really good point to areally good target to aim for.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
So in your smoothie, how many um grams of, or how
many grams of fiber, would yousay, are in the smoothie?

Speaker 2 (16:41):
Oh, good question.
Um, I would say there's dependson what I add into it.
Sometimes I'll put I'll, I'll.
I'll just share with you, kristen, okay.
Um, the secret ingredient.
Do you want to hear it?
Well, do you want to share it?

Speaker 1 (16:58):
I'll share it.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
I'll share it.
It's a secret to be shared.
It is flax seeds or chia seedsand this is what I was going to
say a minute ago before I gotsidetracked by fiber and flax
seeds and chia seeds are high infiber, so if you add those to
your smoothie, you're gettingsome great fiber in there, In
addition to the greens that aregiving you all the fiber.
And I would say my greensmoothies probably have about 10

(17:21):
grams of fiber in them, depending on how much green I
put in and how much flaxseed andsuch um.
Maybe even more than that, butbut the reason smoothies are so
powerful for us is becausethey're anti-inflammatory.
When you add in the flax seedand a chia seed, you are, you
are up leveling the theanti-inflammatory benefits.

(17:44):
Inflammation in the body is theroot of dis-ease in the body and
we all walk around here eatinghighly inflammatory food Most of
the time time, almost every day.
The food we eat and the thingsthat we drink are typically
highly inflammatory.
It is our job, our privilege,to load our body up with the

(18:07):
anti-inflammatory nutrition asmuch of that as we can get, and
that's why green smoothies Icall them health insurance in a
glass, because they are soanti-inflammatory and full of
fiber and full of hydration.
That is another thing that somany of us lack is hydration.
We need to be getting at leasthalf our body weight and ounces

(18:28):
of water per day.
Water should be your drink ofchoice throughout the day, and
it's typically for my greensmoothies.
It's the base of my greensmoothie, so that I'm getting
that extra hydration in mysmoothies.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
Okay, I I've made smoothies before with um like
coconut water.
Do you ever get?

Speaker 2 (18:46):
coconut water.
That's good too.
We've got some electrolytes inthere.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
Yeah, yeah, I found that a lot of people don't drink
enough water and I'm like thisis probably one of the main keys
to help you be well.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
It is, and I know, as I'm talking to you, I am
preaching to the choir.
This is something that youshare with your clients and
everyone all the time as well.
And you're right waterdehydration it so many people
think they have chronic illness, but they are actually
chronically dehydrated.
There's a book out by um.

(19:21):
It's called your body's manycries for water and it's by dr
batman gellage.
I'm not gonna even try to spellthat, but you can start typing
dr batman and it'll come up.
But it's your body's mini criesfor water and it just it's
story after story of how he, hehealed people by giving them
water.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Yeah, I mean really right.
Yeah, I'm sure you've seen thattoo.
I remember, um, even withsomebody in my family, which I
won't say who they are in casethey listen, but but this person
was having headaches all thetime and I thought how much
water?
That was my first question.
It's usually my first questionhow much water are you drinking
Exactly?
Let's just say it was like 20ounces a day.
I'm like, uh, let's start youon some water.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
Yes, it's free, very smart free and so powerful.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
So I love that.
Um, so I will.
I'm actually going to put thatbook in the show notes in case
somebody wants to.
Yeah, um, and I know youactually have a resource you
wanted to share with um hopeunlocked audience as well.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
Can you?

Speaker 1 (20:33):
tell us a little bit more about that.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
Yes, it is your green smoothie quick start guide to
lose weight, improve mood, boostenergy and support hormone
health, and it's all about howto begin to incorporate green
smoothies into your dailynutrition.
There are some recipes in there.
There's explanation of whythey're so powerful, um, and all

(20:59):
that good stuff.
So, yeah, I'd love to sharethat?

Speaker 1 (21:04):
Um, I would love to hear just do you have some
testimonials of um people you'veworked with who have integrated
the green smoothies into theirum repertoire?
That's how you say it.
Yeah, so sure, like you knowthe the testimonial of the
benefits and what they'veexperienced on the other side of
stepping into something thatthey absolutely, absolutely.

Speaker 2 (21:26):
So.
What's fun is I get a lot ofpeople who come into my group
and into my various challenges.
I have a green smoothie andgreat scripture refresh that I
run several times during theyear and it's five days where we
focus on sipping greensmoothies and getting into great
scripture together as a group.
It's really fun.

(21:47):
But I have a lot of people thatcome into my groups basically
coming from the standardAmerican diet and they know
things feel off with theirhealth.
These are typically midlifewomen, um, ages around 40 to 55
ish.
Um, they're feeling lethargic.

(22:07):
They're feeling, um, variousaches and pains are happening.
They're not feeling quite ascomfortable in their body
anymore.
It's not moving the way theywant to move.
They've.
They're facing weight lossresistance, things like that,
and so they're.
They're knowing things are.
They know things are off andthey're trying to figure out
what's going on.
But they're, they're stuck inthe standard American diet and

(22:30):
they're not getting enough fiber, they're not getting enough
greens in their in their dailynutrition or enough water or all
the things we've been talkingabout, and so they they dip a
toe into my green smoothie worldto see what it's like to make
these green smoothies.
They're not sure if they'regoing to like them, kind of like
I was back in 2012.

(22:50):
And they're putting on a braveface to see if maybe this is
something they can startincorporating.
And the cool thing about this isthere are so many aha moments
as we go through this, thechallenge and the refresher, as
these participants startincorporating these green
smoothies into their life.
They're like, oh my gosh, they're like I was when I

(23:12):
thought why hasn't anyone shownme how to make a green smoothie
before?
Why didn't I know this?
And so, all of a sudden it's.
It's kind of like, wow, theythink I, they're thinking that
they can do this too and thateven just within a five day
green smoothie great scripturerefresh.
They're already feeling betterin their body.

(23:34):
They're already feeling moreenergetic because you have to,
based on what is in that greensmoothie, um, and they realize
that this could be the turningpoint for their health, because
if they continue to add in thisgreen smoothie, um, it just
starts.
It's kind of a domino effect.
They start looking at the nextthing they could maybe add in

(23:55):
maybe a giant salad at dinner ormaybe a little bit more water
throughout the day.
Health becomes fun and inspiredthe moment you start adding in
green smoothies, and so I wouldsay the biggest, the biggest
results and testimonials frompeople in it there is weight
loss.
Weight loss happens not becausethey're focusing on losing
weight, but because they arefocusing on loading the body up

(24:18):
with whole food, plant, strongnourishment, and it's what the
body needs to thrive and survive.
Not survive thrive and livefully and energetically.
And when they, when theyrealize that it just takes this
little bit to start feeling somuch better, it becomes almost

(24:39):
this game of oh, what else can Iadd in?
And I can feel even better.
And it becomes such an adventurewith God is what I like to call
it, because it is fun andinspired, and that's the other
thing, that's the intangiblethat they receive, other than
beginning to lose weight, because they're focusing on
putting whole food, plant strongnourishment in their body and

(24:59):
so they're releasinginflammation in the body, so
they're losing weight.
They're improving their energybecause they're getting all of
those living enzymes from thatgreen smoothie, the refresh.
There's just this recent onethat I did and she said she she
couldn't believe how much bettershe felt and she was excited to

(25:21):
keep moving and keep goingforward with green smoothies and
some other things that she andI talked about during a session
that we had together.
But I think the intangible isthat they no longer feel so
frustrated and overwhelmed withhealth.
This adding in that greensmoothie is a very easy, simple,
yet powerful thing that we canall do and it's fast, it can be

(25:46):
made and taken on the road whenyou're busy in the morning and
you don't have time forbreakfast, and so they realize
that this is doable and it'sfinally something that is is not
stressful, it's notoverwhelming, it's it's fun and
functional and as you startsipping these green smoothies.
You start lift, the brain fogstarts lifting as well, and when

(26:09):
the brain fog starts lifting, Ijust feel like the connection
to God is even closer and, um,so, yeah, so these are some some
of the things that people areexperiencing.

Speaker 1 (26:21):
So incredible.
So if somebody is going, yeahwell, how long would that
actually take me to make Like?
How long would it take you tomake?

Speaker 2 (26:28):
Oh, like two minutes or less.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
Do you do any like you know, prepping ahead of time
, like?

Speaker 2 (26:36):
yeah, you can.
Um, I typically don't.
I I usually have frozen fruit,um, and I've got greens from the
store that are ready to go, soI just dump my handfuls of
greens into the blender and addsome fruit on top, add my
flaxseed on top of that um waterand blend it up, and I mean it
literally takes two minutes fromstart to finish, and that's

(26:57):
from starting the blender tocleaning it out.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
Yeah, would you think that most people like I mean
here's, here's some things thatI hear along the way, I don't
have time, I don't have money.
Yeah, have you heard thosethings along the way?
Definitely, and I say yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
So I say we have time and we have money for the
things that we make priority.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
Yeah, and how much would a smoothie cost you?

Speaker 2 (27:28):
Oh, I don't, I don't even.
I haven't even put pen to paperon that one, but not very much.
Starbucks probably, right,definitely.
And the thing is, when youstart focusing on whole food,
plant strong nourishment andyou're eating at home and making
your own things at home, you'renot spending that money eating

(27:49):
out as much.
Could it be a little moreexpensive to get the produce and
things like that?
Maybe a little bit, but you'reeither going to pay the farmer
now or pay the doctor later.
This is an investment in yourhealth and it's really, really
important because God needs youhealthy and happy so you can

(28:09):
live his purpose for your lifein this season of your life, and
you cannot do that if yourhealth is holding you back.
So this is my focus has alwaysbeen health for life purpose.
It's never just health forhealth sake or to fit into that
pink polka dot bikini at thebeach.
This is because God had youhere for a mission and you've
got to be energetic and andfeeling comfortable in your body

(28:31):
to go do that mission.
So when you make your healthand your self-care a priority
which it should it needs to be apriority because you cannot
pour into your community, intoyour church, into your family.
If you haven't filled your owncup up first, you know you can't
pour from an empty cup and um.

(28:52):
And so when you make your healtha priority and you focus on the
whole food, strong nourishmentand you're, you're not, you're
not spending your money onprocessed, packaged, fake foods.
Instead, you're investing thatmoney into your own, into your
nourishment, into your health.
Um, that's, you know, that's achoice you get to make and it's

(29:13):
a conscious choice we all haveto make on a day to day basis
and as far as time this can be.
So this takes up no time.
I do not like spending time inthe kitchen, I just don't, and
that's why I love smoothies somuch, because they are so fast
to make, quick to clean up, easyto take with you.
There's really no excuse forthis.
Health insurance in a glass.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
Just got to do it Health insurance in a glass.
I love that.
It's something easy to remember, you know.
So can you say um, yourecommend people drinking in the
morning for breakfast as kindof like a kickstart to the day?

Speaker 2 (29:46):
That's a great thing, um, it's a lot of people like
to do that because it's so quickand they can make it and then
take it on the road on their wayto work or school or whatever,
um, and that way you're for suregetting it in, because
sometimes, as the day goes on,you get to, you know, to the
nighttime and you're like, oh, Ihaven't had my smoothie today,
um, cause things get in the way.
And, uh, so it's, it's a, it'san easy thing to do first thing

(30:08):
in the morning.
It can be a meal, it can be ameal replacement, and it can be
a meal replacement at any timeduring the day.
I've had smoothies for dinner,um, but so it really doesn't
matter when you have it, justthat you do have it, okay.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
That's so neat.
It's like it's your gatewayinto the garden right.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
Totally and I want I want people to understand it's
so simple but it's so powerful.
There's a, a doctor that Ifollow and she actually she does
hyper nourishing greensmoothies.
So she's putting a lot, a lotof greens in her, in her blender
, um and um.
But she since, for about adecade she's been reversing
things like lupus and uh,Sjogren's and auto, many, many

(30:54):
kinds of autoimmune diseases andkidney disease.
She's even pulled people offdialysis.
She's had somebody come off thelung transplant list.
It's amazing what she hasaccomplished through the power
of hyper nourishing greensmoothies.
So, even though I'm saying howfun they are and how simple they
are and you know all these, youknow fun, you know fun light,

(31:16):
easy things about greensmoothies, don't ever
underestimate the power of thegreen in your glass.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
it can really turn things around and it can turn
things around fast yeah, well, casey, I'm so glad that you had
this full circle moment becauseI mean my, my, my thought, just
in general, because you know, asas a life coach and doing, you
know, you know, helping peoplemoving forward in purpose if

(31:43):
we're not well, like you said,um, you can't fully walk it out
literally.
And how much more would theenemy love to take people out
health-wise.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
Exactly.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
They're sick in bed.
I mean, I don't know about you,but I'm hearing so many people
are sick lately.
I mean, just the rate ofsickness that I'm seeing around
me is unbelievable, and that's awhole other subject.
With lots of forks in the roadof short, I can imagine this,

(32:24):
you know would be very helpful.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Yeah, I totally agree with you about all of that.
There is a lot of sicknessaround and the thing about it is
is that the body can themiracle machine, your miracle
machine, can change, just like Isaid a second ago, so quickly
when we get out of the way andstop bombarding it with the
things that are foreign to itand start putting the things in

(32:48):
it that, um, that it knows andthat it needs, and those are the
things that God put on thisplanet and their most whole
natural form.
When you start putting thosethings into your body and
getting out of, out of yourbody's way, it can.
It can heal and repair itselfvery quickly.
Nobody is too far gone andthere there's hope, for no

(33:10):
matter where you are in yourhealth, there is absolutely hope
that it can turn around, and itcan turn around quickly and
just like you just said, uh,satan would like nothing more
than to get a foothold in yourhealth and and also in your
mindset, telling you there'snothing you can do, you're too
far, it's too far, it's over.
That is the furthest thing fromthe truth.

(33:31):
Your body can turn around andGod needs you to practice
extreme self-care so that youcan honor the miracle machine
he's given you so that you cango live that purpose.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
I love the miracle machine.
Yeah, I think of that often.
I'm like you know I'll be in aworkout and I'm like, wow, my,
you know, for example, in a stepclass, I'm like, wow, I'm
moving my arms and my feetreally quickly and my brain's
keeping up.
Yes, it's just amazing.
You know, the autonomic, youknow systems that you know,

(34:07):
except the the.
Do you want to talk about lymphat all?
Since you talked about thelymph system, I feel like we're
to like kind of go there for amoment.

Speaker 2 (34:19):
Yeah, oh, my goodness .
So the lymphatic system is umreally important to your overall
health and wellbeing and it'simportant to move your lymph
system, your the lymph fluid inyour body, so that you can move
toxins through and out of thebody.
And you can do this in inseveral different ways.
Uh, rebounding is one reallypowerful way to move the

(34:41):
lymphatic system.
Do you rebound, kristen?
I do, and I love it.
Me too, it's so fun, boundlessjoy.

Speaker 1 (34:50):
I actually was going to do some classes at one point.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
Oh, wow, yeah, I love that, um, I I think rebounding
is.
It is so fun and I just I havemy rebounder and I'll just hop
on it, you know, throughout theday and then I'll do a focus
session, usually in the eveningwhen things are winding down
over here.
But, um, it's, even if you justget on it for a couple minutes
and move the lymph, it's reallypowerful thing to do.

(35:14):
Um, you can also do things likedry brushing using lymphatic
cream, uh, things like that.
Also, here's a resource.
It's called the big six andthese are the six places on the
body that um are your lymphaticgrains.
And if you can focus on the bigsix, like massaging those areas

(35:34):
every day, just once a day, um,it helps to open up the
lymphatic grains and and get thelymph system moving.
You can you can YouTube the bigsix and it's with uh, stop
chasing pain.
It's Dr Perry, I think his lastname is Nicholson Um and it'll.
He'll show you exactly wherethose points are and how to um,

(35:57):
how to open up those drains.

Speaker 1 (35:59):
That's awesome.
Yeah, and it's the system ofour body that doesn't
automatically move Exactly.
The heart beats on its own.

Speaker 2 (36:06):
Exactly and moves the blood, but the lymph doesn't
have anything to pump it.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
Yeah, we need to like upgrade, that you know, yep,
for sure.

Speaker 2 (36:16):
Get an upgrade please .
Yeah, it's, it is.
It's really important foroverall health and wellbeing and
, and especially if you'renoticing any swelling anywhere
or things like that edema it's,it could be lymph, lymph, lymph
fluid that's just kind ofgetting backed up and just needs
to be to be moved, circulatedyes, well, thank you for going

(36:37):
there.

Speaker 1 (36:37):
For a moment, I just felt like we were to go there I,
I love it.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
That's, that's awesome, and I I would love
people to just take a momentevery single day and thank god
for their body, because when wedon't, we're just taking it for
granted, and then it's a loteasier for us to bombard it with
things like Oreos and Doritoswhen we're not honoring and

(37:03):
revering the body.
So, just taking a moment everyday and thanking God for the
miracle machine that he gave you, and even pausing and you know,
putting your your fists on yourkidneys and just saying, wow,
kidneys, thanks so much for whatyou're doing for me today.
And putting your hand over yourheart and practicing gratitude
for all the beating that it doesfor you today without you
having to even think about ityour ears, your eyes, your nose,

(37:24):
all of the things that we justtake for granted.
The more we can honor andrevere every part of the body
and understand what it's doingand how it's working, then it's
so much easier to want to drinkthat green smoothie and to work
with our body to help itfunction most optimally, right.

Speaker 1 (37:44):
So good.
Yeah, I think we, you know, Ithink a lot of times, you know,
just even looking back when Iwas growing up, I had a distaste
for my body.
I was every little piece andpart going no, you're not good
enough, you need, you need tolook better.
You're not looking good.

Speaker 2 (38:04):
Exactly it is it's really important, it really is,
and that follows us intoadulthood.
You know, and we do have tocapture every thought and turn
it to christ and thoughts ofthings like you know, why are my
thighs so big or why is mystomach so big?
Or you know things like that, why, why is this so frustrating?
Why can't I lose this weight?

(38:25):
Why am, why do I feel like thisin my body all the time?
It's super negative.
It creates stress in the body.
It's not honoring and reveringthe miracle machine that he gave
you and practicing gratitudefor it.
The things that we focus on grow, so those thoughts will
continue to grow if we're notcapturing them and turning them

(38:46):
to Christ.
And, as I said, those, thosethoughts are creating stress in
the body and, as I said at thebeginning of our little chat
here, stress will manifestitself physically.
Stress could be the root ofalmost all disease, just like
inflammation, because stress isinflammatory in the body.
And God doesn't also does notwant us talking to ourselves

(39:09):
that way.
He would never say things likethat to us and he gave you a
gift, a gift, that your body isa gift from him, and everyone
was created in his image unique, but in his image and so
approaching our body and ourhealth from that perspective
will change everything.

Speaker 1 (39:30):
Yes, amen.
Well, now that you're you've,you've transitioned your back
full circle.
How?
How does it look like inbusiness?
You know different back whenyou were, you know, first
getting started in business, where it was more of a stress
induced.
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (39:49):
Well, I've made the conscious choice to not stress
about it and to surrender it andlet God take it wherever he
wants to take it.
This is an extension of who Iam.
It's as I was saying earlier.
It's what I love to learn about, talk about, teach about, coach
about.
It's what I would do anyway.
So I'm kind of approaching itfrom that perspective and not

(40:15):
one of, oh my gosh, I have to dothis in order to make this
happen and I have to meet withfive people next week, or
otherwise my business is afailure or things like that.
I'm just taking that aspect ofit out and letting God shape and
mold this the way he wants todo it.
I know that he'll bring thepeople into my space that need

(40:37):
what I do, and if that's acoaching relationship, great.
If that's a quick phone call soI can help them overcome some
kind of health challenge that'sreally been causing problems.
You know I'm so happy to dothat and I.
This is information that Godwants people to have and I'm a
conduit for that information andwhere it lands and how it lands
is totally up to him.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
Yes, I love that.
That's so good, I'm, I'm withyou on that.
Like, I just have this.
I guess you could call it likea motto.
It's like release the income, release the outcome.
It's like, oh, I love that, youknow, it's um, I'm expectant.
I'm really expectant becausehe's he's got, he's got the plan
in his hands and we justcontinue to follow where he

(41:20):
leads and it's going to work outwell.
Um, and there's, you know, inthis world there's so many
different, you know, quoteunquote gurus and quote unquote
experts that would tell you youneed to be doing things like a
certain way, but oftentimesthat's not the way that the Lord
calls us to operate right, exactly, exactly.

Speaker 2 (41:40):
That's 100% true, and I think that also goes into
health as well, and this iswhere so much overwhelm and
frustration comes from with withhealth, for, for women, is that
there is, there's endlessinformation out there about
health and about how we shoulddo it, and what we should do
next and what we're doing wrong,um, and it is so overwhelming

(42:03):
and it can be so frustrating ifwe let it be.
And this is why inviting yourcreator into your health will be
the thing that changes all ofit for you, um, because you have
to you get with your creatorand ask him what you need to do
for your health and then do whathe's telling you to do.
He's going to tell you,step-by-step what needs to

(42:25):
happen and, um, when you are inrelationship with him and
consulting him on your health, that's going to help all the
noise go away.
This is, this is a an adventurewith him, your creator, and you
and um, and that helps, um.
That helps just release all ofthat ickiness that often comes

(42:46):
along with health.
It makes it more of an inspired, an inspired thing.
It's not, we're not trying toget to a destination.
This is, this is a process ofbecoming and growing closer to
your creator and becoming moreof who he created you to be.

Speaker 1 (43:01):
Yes, oh, so good.
Oh my gosh, I, you know, I.
I would say I so agree withthat and the more that we lean
into him like for everything, obviously, but in that you know
health related realm, like, I'vehad so many like downloads that
he's given me to go try this orgo do this modality or try

(43:22):
adding this in.
And it's like I think it was mychiropractor.
That was like, wow, you'rereally intuitive.
And I'm like, no, it's, it'sjust.
You know, holy spirit, in me,there is intuition, right.
It's not like, yeah, you know,it's, it's, it's just been
beautiful.
It's a journey that, um, we getto lean into and we have one
body, really, you know, so whynot take care of it?

(43:46):
You got that right, right, um.
So what would it look like forsomebody to work with you, like
in a coaching relationship?

Speaker 2 (43:56):
Well, most people start off in one of my refreshes
or one of my challenges, and sofirst I would just love to
invite people into our Facebookgroup.
That's where I share a lot ofjust information and things that
I think are important.
Um, and I will make sure youhave that link.
Yeah, it's uh, just, it's ajust a fun, you know fun

(44:16):
Facebook group.
So that's where everythingstarts.
But then we move into a fiveday green smoothie and great
scripture refresh, which is agreat way to start incorporating
green smoothies into some, intosomeone's life, into their
health, just so they can see thepower of green.
And then from there, often wecan move into a coaching
relationship, and there I have asix week green smoothie

(44:39):
solution where it's a focusedone on one coaching relationship
where we are continuing toincorporate green smoothies but
then also focusing on thepsychology of eating, any
emotional eating, mindset shiftsthat need to happen, things
like that, through lovingaccountability and weekly
coaching calls.

Speaker 1 (44:59):
Okay, oh, my gosh, casey, can you just um, what is
the name of your Facebook group?
And in case somebody just shesigns wellness shines wellness,
okay, awesome.
Well, this has been so good.
I appreciate what you've sharedtoday.
I'm sure you might have somepeople who want to reach out.
What's the best way for them toget in contact with you?

Speaker 2 (45:23):
Yes, they can email me at Casey and that's C-A-S-E-Y
at she shines wellnesscom.

Speaker 1 (45:31):
Okay, so at the end of every podcast, I, you know,
have our guests.
Uh, just think of a woman whois listening in and is there
anything that you would like toum share with her?
Um, speak over her, and thenwould you pray us out.

Speaker 2 (45:49):
I would love to.
What I would share is that, nomatter where you are in your
health, there is always hope.
Just starts with adding in thegood stuff, and I would suggest
that the first good thing thatyou can add in is that green
smoothie and just watch thingschange from there.
Can add in is that greensmoothie and just watch things

(46:13):
change from there.
Lord, thank you so much forthis time together.
Thank you for Kristen and allthe work she does and bringing
people onto her podcast and justletting them share and open up
doors, and for all of herlisteners who are walking in
your light and living out theirpurpose, and I just am so
appreciative that we get to havethis time and that um, that you

(46:37):
are in the midst of all ofeverything that we do, including
our health, and I just pray forany person who is listening to
this, if they are struggling intheir health, that they will
just lean into you, invite youin and consult with you and then
do whatever it is you're layingon their heart to do as their
very next step.
Thank you for Jesus.

(46:58):
It's in his name that we do all, amen.

Speaker 1 (47:03):
Thank you, casey, thanks for coming back again.
We'll have to have you backagain for maybe another topic on
health, I think you-.

Speaker 2 (47:09):
Thanks, kristen, I would love to.
I got a lot to say.

Speaker 1 (47:14):
You can just tell.
You guys can probably tell thepassion's just seeping out,
which is amazing.
So well, thank you for being abrave voice who's setting others
free.
I'm going to close with theanchoring verse, which is may
the God of hope fill you withall joy and peace and believing,
so that, by the power of theHoly Spirit, you may abound in
hope, and that's Romans 15, 13.
So thank you again, Casey.

(47:36):
I will be back with anotherepisode next week.
Bye everybody, thanks, friend,see ya.
Thank you.
