Overview We continue with our season 02 visitations by visiting Ireland. Besides the great accent (at least for Americans) and the beautiful country – we have a monster. Big old tentacled beastie. This movie is a wonderful homage to all the great monster movies from the 50’s through 80’s. It is full of every trope …

Overview The Loved Ones looks like a teen slasher comedy, you know, like some of the popular stuff in the 70’s to 90’s. This movie is anything BUT that. We break up our comedy section of the season with another psychological disturbing and dark horror movie. This is another movie worth a 2nd watch. For …

Overview Based on all the very intense horror films we’ve had this season, you’d think horror comedy doesn’t even exist. Oh, my friend, you would be so wrong. Enter Suck – a vampire comedy that is almost a musical. The basic story is about a small time band that becomes famous when they start turning …

Overview Another vampire movie, which is interesting because we have 3 vampire movies in season 01 and Rhys doesn’t really care for vampire movies. That should tell you how different they are. Anyway, Let the Right One In shows vampires in a different way than most other movies. First, the vampire is a kid. Second, …

Overview This is an interesting movie for a couple reasons. It’s from Uruguay It’s meant to be a single shot movie – we discuss that because, come on, really? It’s micro-budget but made back a ton of money One of the things to note is that it was shot with a Canon EOS 5D Mark …

Overview A literary horror based on Henry James “Turn of the Screw”. This isn’t the only movie made from that book – there are over 30 variations throughout the years. This one is fairly adherent to the original story. This is a very Hitchcockian film and the screen play was written by Capote. There are …

Overview Triangle is a twisty movie. You might think it’s just a slasher film, but then things change. And change again. Rhys describes this type of movie as a horror loop. Like many of the movies on our list, the writer and director are the same, and this guy has done a great job. For …

Hosted by Laura Beil (Dr. Death, Bad Batch), Sympathy Pains is a six-part series from Neon Hum Media and iHeartRadio. For 20 years, Sarah Delashmit told people around her that she had cancer, muscular dystrophy, and other illnesses. She used a wheelchair and posted selfies from a hospital bed. She told friends and coworkers she was trapped in abusive relationships, or that she was the mother of children who had died. It was all a con. Sympathy was both her great need and her powerful weapon. But unlike most scams, she didn’t want people’s money. She was after something far more valuable.
