Sean 'Diddy' Combs is facing a plethora of serious allegations and charges related to sexual abuse, exploitation, and other federal offenses. He was arrested in September 2024 by federal agents in New York on charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and other federal offenses. Federal prosecutors allege that Combs and his associates abused, threatened, and coerced women and others to fulfill his sexual desires, which included forcing victims into engaging in recorded sexual activities referred to as 'Freak Offs'[1][2].
More than 100 people are planning to file lawsuits against Combs, alleging sexual abuse and exploitation. These lawsuits span several decades, with some allegations dating back to the 1990s when Combs founded Bad Boy Records. One notable lawsuit was filed by his former partner, Cassie Ventura, under the New York Adult Survivors Act, alleging years of abuse[2].
Additionally, Combs was hit with a $100 million default judgment in a case involving an alleged sexual assault from a 1997 party. The plaintiff, Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith, accused Combs of drugging and sexually assaulting him at the party[2].
Combs has denied all allegations, with his attorneys describing the lawsuits as 'baseless' or 'money grabs.' Despite the legal turmoil, Combs has apologized for past incidents, such as an incident captured on surveillance footage in 2016 where he attacked his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel hallway[2].
