Hi, everyone.
Welcome to another episode ofHow I AI.

(01:30):
I'm Brooke Gramer, your host.
Today we have a solo episode.
It's been a while since I'vedone one of these.
And for today I'm gonna sharesome quick announcements, what
I've been reading and watchinglately.
I'm going to share a powerfulresearch paper.
It's on the future of work withAI agents.

(01:51):
And some recent AI news that Ifeel like is too important not
to talk about.
Today, I'm also gonna dive intoa personal reflection on what I
would've done differently if Iwas learning AI for the very
first time today.
This is gonna be based oneverything I've seen over the
past two years, navigating thisspace, working with founders,

(02:12):
creatives, and small businesses.
So whether you're brand new toAI or just trying to find your
way through the noise, I hopetoday's episode can give you
some clarity, words ofencouragement, and a sense of
where to begin.
Alright, let's dive in.
I am so grateful for everyonewho's been tuning in and
listening to the show.

(02:33):
A lot of you have beeninterested in being featured on
the podcast.
I have a current wait listgrowing, which is so great to
hear and I'm considering doingsome Power Session episodes
where I can feature three peopleat a time.
Make it a little bit more shortand sweet per interview.
This way we can amplify eachother's stories and learn from
each other in a quick powersession manner.

(02:57):
So if this sounds like somethingyou wanna be a part of, dm me or
hit the link in my show notesand we will be in touch
regarding sharing your story onthe show.
If you're a Miami local, I'mhosting an event this summer,
August 7th.
It's a panel in the evening, andit's all about conscious
co-creation and leadership withAI.

(03:19):
This is for founders, creatorsand change makers using AI to
scale with impact.
We're gonna talk all things.
Ethics, purpose and if thissounds like a conversation
you've been wanting to havearound AI we would love for you
to join us.
The podcast has hit over 5,000downloads, which is so exciting,

(03:39):
and I've been receiving suchgreat reception.
I've decided to finally launchon YouTube.
I'll be expanding, and this issomething I've been building up
towards.
You'll be able to see bothinterviews and solo episodes up
there soon.
So if you prefer a video orwanna put a face to the voice, I
got you.
YouTube coming soon.

(04:02):
Alright, let's go into some newsi've been reading, just the
other day.
I saw that the US Department ofDefense, awarded contracts up to
200 million to Open AI, Google,Anthropic, and Xai.
This is to accelerate the US'military's integration of AI

(04:24):
that's around$800 million, allaimed at building what they call
a agentic ai.
These are tools that can thinkahead, take action, and drive
strategic decisions.
So why does this matter?
Because it really shows thetrajectory of what we're all on
AI isn't just hype, it'snational security imperative

(04:48):
now.
The US military is moving fastwith AI.
It's time we take it seriouslyin our own lives and businesses
too.
I also came across a new studycalled The Future of Work with
AI Agents.
It's a study by researchers fromStanford University, MIT, and
Georgia Tech, and it goes intowhat tasks workers want to

(05:11):
actually automate with AI andwhat they don't, they introduce
a concept called Human AgencyScale or HAS, this is,
essentially describing how muchhuman involvement people want to
have AI across specific tasks, which they break up into four
different AI zones.
It really gets into the nittygritty of where we're okay with

(05:32):
letting AI take over.
This is gonna be reallyimportant for you to read on.
If you wanna understand how tobest align your skills and
future proof your, value when itcomes to what we're automating
to AI.
Another thing I wanted to sharetoday.
A friend recently sent me aYouTube video by the diary of a

(05:53):
CEO.
He has over 11 millionsubscribers on YouTube, and the
title of this episode is calledGodfather of AI.
I tried to warn them, but we'vealready lost control: Geoffrey
Hinton and this viral interviewis speaking about how Geoffrey
Hilton left Google to speakfreely and he's saying there's a

(06:17):
20% chance AI could lead tohuman distinction.
He also talks about jobdisplacement and everything from
deep fakes and what's going onand threats to our government.
So I wanna cover what's actuallyon the chopping block when it
comes to AI and automation.
According to this video, basedon his own comments in the

(06:39):
interview and what we're alreadyseeing in the field, here is a
short list of jobs that are mostlikely to shrink or disappear in
the next two years.
And these aren't justspeculative, they are roles
where AI already outperformshuman labor in speed, cost and
scale.
So jobs that are going or goingfast are going to be roles such

(07:01):
as call center agents, customerservice reps, paralegals in
legal assistance, admins andEAs, also known as executive
assistants, complaint responseagents, entry-level devs, basic
copywriters, junior graphicdesigners, entry-level financial

(07:23):
analysts, market researchers, recruiters for sourcing and
screening.
Transcriptionists.
So those are gonna be roleswhere tasks are repeatable,
predictable, and data heavy.
Exactly what AI thrives on.
Next he goes into a bit of agray zone.
These are roles at high risk ofconsolidation, but not full

(07:46):
elimination.
Roles such as middle managersand project coordinators,
teachers delivering standardizedcurriculum, entry level
financial advisors, medicalcoders, and claim processors.
So in these roles, AI is makingit possible to do the same work

(08:07):
with fewer humans.
One person may oversee a largerteam, or AI might be co-piloting
the task around 80%.
So why am I sharing this?
The wave is coming if you're inone of these jobs, now is the
time to skill stack.
Be asking yourself, what part ofyour job requires human nuance

(08:29):
or creativity?
Where could you become theperson who prompts, guides, or
oversees the ai instead of itbeing completely replaced by it?
That is gonna be the edge rightnow, being the human in the
loop.
I'll link that article below aswell.
All right.
Now let's get into the episodetoday and it's, if I were

(08:55):
learning AI for the first timeand starting over today, how
would I do it?
This topic was inspired for thissolo podcast based on a
conversation I recently had witha friend.
A lot of people have beenreaching out to me because I've
been speaking about AI for quitesome time, and a lot of people

(09:17):
have finally started to comearound and be like, okay, I'm
listening.
How do I get started?
What do I need to know?
And I found as I was speaking tomy friend recently on the phone,
I was speaking to her as if Iwas speaking to myself two years
ago.
So I, I feel like this is gonnabe really helpful for anyone

(09:40):
feeling overwhelmed.
And I feel like a lot of peoplehesitate with AI because it's so
different than traditionalschool learning.
You know, we're taught go toschool, pass the test, climb the
ladder, and you're set.
And that formula is outdated.
That's not how people arefinding success today.

(10:03):
And that can be kind of scaryfor a lot of people.
So if I was going back andstarting my AI journey again, I
would realize.
First and foremost, it's notabout going back to school and
enrolling in AI boot camps andmemorizing the right steps and,

(10:26):
being taught things in acurriculum that might be
irrelevant in the next year ortwo.
It really boils down to gettingclarity on what success looks
like for you uniquely.
What do you need the most helpon in your personal or
professional life?
What is your unique problem andgoal that you're trying to

(10:49):
solve?
If you were to hire five peopletomorrow to support your
business.
Or your personal life.
Obviously we can't go intophysical labor unless you can
afford humanoid robots already, but if it were to come down to
tasks that you felt comfortable,if you were to hire five interns

(11:12):
tomorrow and be able todesignate the time to sit down
and train them with examples, data and resources.
What would that look like to youindividually?
And this is a really goodroadmap on how to start with AI,
just really defining what it isthat you need help on the most.

(11:33):
Do you need to lower your costs?
Are you building a business fromsquare one?
Are you wanting to automate thethings you hate doing or are you
just trying to keep up with allof your tasks, roles and
responsibilities in general?
And this is gonna help guide youin the right direction of what
type of technology stack youneed to invest in.

(11:54):
And think about this investingin your future self.
It's way more affordable toinvest in a handful of tools.
Or even just one that is gonnahelp move the needle and push
your efficiency and your outcomeand your ROI forward versus if
you were to have to go back toschool and relearn everything.

(12:16):
This is such a unique time wherewe can get from point A to point
B faster than ever before.
We can build exactly what wewant in a unique way, solely to
us.
At this point in your journeywhen you're trying to figure out
what it is that you need supporton and what you spend a lot of

(12:36):
time on and what you want toautomate and delegate so that
you can spend more time doingthe things in your business that
are generating the most revenueand keeping you in your zone of
genius, those are the thingsthat you want to use AI for.
This is where your own playcomes in.

(12:58):
This is when it's up to you togo out there and explore what
works for you.
What tools do you gravitatetowards?
What is in your budget?
This is the part where a lot ofpeople get a bit tripped up
because there's so many thingsout there.
A good place to start is to askyour peers in your industry or

(13:20):
in your community who are facingthe same problems and have the
same goals in mind, and ask themwhat it is that they're using
and how they're using it.
Okay.
This is the goal of my podcastis to highlight different use
cases every week so that you areinspired and expanded on how to

(13:44):
jumpstart your own journey.
And it'll ignite you to start tolook into how they're tackling
their problems.
I do want you to keep in mindthat I love this example.
If I were at a dinner table withall of my friends and we decided
to put our iPhones on the table, you would imagine that we all

(14:07):
have very different applicationson our phones.
There's gonna be apps that a lotof people use.
Gmail might be one of them, forinstance.
But when it goes into what ourunique problems are and our
unique habits are, we're allgonna have different apps,
right?
We might commute to workdifferently.

(14:27):
We might be tracking calories,we might be tracking meeting
notes, depending on what it isthat we need help with.
Think of your own personal phoneand what apps you have on there.
Why do you have those apps?
Because they fit a solution anda need that you uniquely have.

(14:48):
This is the best way to start toapproach your AI journey.
Start to think about what it isthat you need help with and
start exploring out there whatit is that can help you with
that problem.
The next step in tandem would beto go over your systems and
processes.

(15:08):
Highlight every step from top tobottom of what it is that you're
doing throughout your day.
I used to do this with clientswhen I was coaching.
When they would say things like,I have no time in my day to do
the things I need to do.
We would go by and really breakdown in 15 minute increments,
what they did all day that day.

(15:30):
And lo and behold, when we brokeit out, we would find that there
was a lot of stuff that theywere doing.
That weren't connected to theirgoals, that weren't really a
priority and a lot of room forthem to improve.
So for you to sit down and gothrough step by step, what it is

(15:50):
that you're doing every day, this is going to show all the
things that can be delegated toAI.
It's also gonna help you set upthe systems in place of how to
automate the order of whichthings are to be done.
And when it comes to that timein your AI journey, when you're
ready to build AI agents or wantto enter the AI agent

(16:13):
marketplace, or maybe partnerwith developers or hire
developers and start to buildand develop and get into things
like vibe coding and appcreation, once you get into that
place, you're gonna have all theexperience under your belt of
knowing what your uniqueproblems and goals are, how

(16:36):
exactly you are needing to solvethem.
You are going to have all ofyour systems and steps in place
and have everything you need totake your AI automation and
journey to the next level ofinvesting more into technology

(16:57):
in your teams and yourbusinesses.
This is just a little taste ofmy personal journey and I've
learned so much along the way.
If you're really feelinginspired by this conversation,
but still aren't sure where tostart, maybe you're just
overwhelmed by everything orreally unclear of what's gonna

(17:18):
be worth your time.
I wanna offer a private 30minute session for anyone who's
ready to kickstart their AIjourney with intention.
And in that half hour we'll getyou aligned with the right
tools, the right focus, and yourvery next step.
I am gonna limit this coachingcall to just a few spots per

(17:39):
week.
I'll link in the show notes, butI'm here to support you and I
personally feel like one-on-oneis the best way to get started
with AI it is very difficult totry to have your personal needs
met when you're in a huge roomof people learning from the same

(17:59):
one person from different teamsand backgrounds, or when you're
buying a preloaded course that'snot individual to what it is
that your unique questions arein your AI adoption journey.
Well, that's it for today.
Thank you so much for listening.
I ask you to please rate, review, share this episode with

(18:23):
a friend who's curious, itreally helps listeners find the
show and get this into the handsof more people who are
struggling and overwhelmed whenit comes to AI.
I really wanna empower AIadoption and I find myself to be
such an advocate for this timeof rapid evolution in our world.

(18:46):
I can't thank you enough fortuning in.
I'll catch you on the nextepisode of How I AI.
