ATR2100x-USB Microphone (00:00):
Ever
wish you had a personal
assistant to help you design, write, and optimize your website
for your small business?
Well, good news, you do.
AI can be your secret weapon tobuilding a show it website that
looks pro level without theheadache.
Today I'm sharing seven ways AIcan make your DIY website
journey easier, faster, and wayless overwhelming.
We're going to go in order hereso that we're starting at the
beginning of building yourwebsite and working through to
(00:21):
the very end.
First up is going to be using AIfor research.
We're going to do somecompetitor research, figure out
our market and find ourkeywords.
The tools we're going to beusing here are primarily
perplexity And ChatGPT's deepresearch mode.
And these tools you're going touse prompts like, analyze my
competitor, Help me find keywordgaps, What keywords have a lot
of traffic but have lowcompetition.
(00:41):
You can even put in acompetitor's website and have
them help you figure out whatterms that website is ranking
for and how you can competebetter.
Moving on to number two.
We're still doing research, butthis time we're doing more
market research in general andgetting into the head of our
ideal client.
One of my favorite tricks is toask AI to act as my ideal
customer.
I give it as many demographicsand psychographics that I know,
(01:02):
and then I start askingquestions and ask it to act as
if it were my client using theirlanguage.
I have a full video on using AIfor market research here with
other tips.
Check that one out if that'ssomething you're interested in.
But getting into your client'shead and being able to talk to
their pain points, figuring outthat messaging and how you can
stand out from your competitorsand show people that you're the
(01:22):
right choice for them is huge.
So using AI to help with thatmarket research step will be a
big cost savings and a big timesaving, especially if you're a
newer business and you don'thave those ideal clients to
reach out to already andinterview for real.
This is a great way to jump intothe mind of your customer and
use what's available online toreally get into how they think,
how they talk and how you canhelp them.
(01:43):
Our third way to use AI is withour copywriting.
Website copy can be tough and Ithink that it can get very
overwhelming, but there's reallya formula and a framework that
you can follow to make sure thatevery page of your website
answers the questions thatpeople have, Make sure that
they're understanding who youare, what you do, and how you
help them, and that you're theright fit for them.
I've made it easy with a specialtool that I created called
(02:03):
Website Writer AI.
It takes my copywritingframeworks, rules, and
principles, and then also asksyou questions about your
business to get to know you, what you do, who you are, and
pulls that automatically intothat framework and writes the
copy for you.
It's a great first draft, andthen you can work from there to
Tweak and work with AI to writebetter copy that sounds just
(02:23):
like you and connects andconverts your clients.
Please don't pop into ChatGPTand say, write me an about page.
You're not going to get a greatresult.
You want to make sure thatyou're following those
principles and guidelines thathelp you get copy that actually
converts.
Um, chat GPT with a genericprompt like that is going to
give you a generic answer.
The fourth way we're going touse AI is for our brand visuals.
We've got that messaging, we'vegot that core idea of who we
(02:46):
are, what we do, who we serve, but we need to back it up with
the visuals.
So many times I see smallbusiness owners pick their
favorite colors for theirbranding or their favorite fonts
and they're not necessarily theright match to what we're
actually saying on the page.
we want the visuals to match thewords and give that one two
punch that gets somebody onboard, builds your credibility,
and gets them excited to workwith you.
(03:06):
You don't want bright, boldcolors, hot pink, and yellow,
and then words like peaceful,calming.
Those don't go together.
So with AI, there's a few thingsthat we can do here.
We can upload our copy and say, help me figure out what
aesthetic would match thismessaging.
Help me find brand colors, fonts, suggest visuals that go
with this.
You can ask AI to build you amood board.
(03:27):
I love doing that and seeingwhat comes out because it really
does show you how much wordshave visual reference as well.
It doesn't feel like itnecessarily when you start
thinking about what your brandcolors might be, but when you
get really clear on thatmessaging piece, it's so much
easier to find the colors thatare just the right fit.
If you've already startedgathering inspiration in a
Pinterest mood board orelsewhere, you can also
(03:49):
screenshot those and pull theminto ChatGPT and say, help me
find a cohesive color palettewith enough contrast, a dark, a
light, and some pops of colorthat match my messaging from
this general vibe or idea.
And that is a way you can tie inwhat you visually see and feel
is like the right fit to whatyour messaging is.
And it helps fine tune that.
(04:09):
The fifth way we're using AI isto create custom stock photos.
Have you ever needed a photo andyou go search Pexels or one of
the other stock photo sites andsee the same photo that
everybody else has used on theirwebsite of that laptop with the
coffee cup.
And you need somethingdifferent.
Your brand is different.
You want to stand out, but youdon't have the funds necessarily
or the time to get customphotos.
(04:31):
You need one shot, whatever itmay be.
This is where you can pull intomid journey and start creating
your own images.
these are so fun to do I createdcustom stock photos for all of
the images that I used in mywebsite templates.
And I've created custom stockphotos for my own brand as well.
Again, it's a way to buildcredibility and trust in your
brand.
and that brand cohesion fromstart to finish.
Next up, I love this tip.
(04:52):
It is something that I've justrecently started doing.
I sometimes will have my copywritten and I'm just stuck on
how to make it fit on the page.
I want it to be laid out acertain way, but I really just
can't like fine tune it in mybrain.
I can't visualize it.
And so what I'll do is go intoClaude AI and say, here is maybe
the template that I have.
I'll do a screenshot, um, andhere is the copy that I'm trying
(05:13):
to put into it.
I need some ideas of how to makethis layout work.
Cloud AI will then give me amock up of the website with the
fonts, the colors, everythingalready in place, and show me
how to put my copy into thattemplate in a beautiful design.
Make sure to ask for conversionfriendly, user friendly design
and make tweaks.
It's fun to say, okay, I likethis, but I don't like that.
(05:35):
Or what if we did this or thatand show me what the mobile
looks like.
this helps DIYers stretch theirthinking and their templates
further, and I just love theresults.
which brings us to our finalidea, which is to use AI as a
code writer.
You know I love ShowIt becauseit is no code drag and drop, but
there are some times when youwant to do something a little
fancy having the power ofwriting code at your fingertips
(05:56):
without having a single cluewhat that is or how it works is
amazing.
I've been using AI to write mecode for making fonts different
within a text box, making anembedded form from something
like MailChimp match my websitedesign better, adding a little
bit of animation or hovereffects, just different things
that you can By asking Claude AIto write the code for you.
(06:16):
I do find that Claude is thebest for writing code.
I also find it the best optionfor, the website layout idea
that we talked about in theprevious tip.
Again, no need to Google forhours and try to find code
that's already written.
you just describe what you needand ask AI to write the code for
you.
This helps your site look verycustom and engaging as well.
Let's do a quick recap.
Number one was to do deepresearch.
(06:37):
Number two was to do your marketresearch.
Number three was to help withyour copywriting.
Four was using AI for brandingcolors mood board.

It's here to amplify it.

(06:58):
