Howling at the Moon episode #10:

Mirrors & Masks: How Hidden Reflections Shape Your Healing Journey

What if the stories you tell yourself, about life, people, and your own worth, are just reflections in a hidden mirror?

In this deeply personal episode, Heatherleigh Strom shares a powerful teaching from the K9 Spirit Guides about “masks” we subconsciously wear and the mirrors they hold inside. These mirrors filter our experiences, often reinforcing the pain and fears we carry… until we heal them.

Through a heartfelt (and raw) listener review of her book K9 Spirit Guides, Heatherleigh explores how triggers point us toward unhealed wounds and how K9 Spirit Guide Oregon, a fusion of Black Panther and Basenji, specializes in gently removing these masks so we can see ourselves clearly again.

💫 You’ll discover:

• What spiritual “masks” are and how they distort reality

• Why triggers can be powerful healers in disguise

• How the K9 Spirit Guides work through stories to activate deep emotional release

• Oregon’s role in helping us remove masks and connect to our higher self

• The deeper mission of K9 Spirit Guides as more than a book

🐾 Special Note: The full healing transmission from Oregon ("Mirror Mitigation Meditation") is now available exclusively for subscribers

We're diving deep into a super important topic today that revolves around the masks we wear and the mirrors they hold—yes, those sneaky little things can really mess with our perception! Our conversation is all about how these masks can block us from seeing our true selves and how the K9 spirit guides, like the fabulous Oeragon, help us peel those layers away. I mean, sometimes we put on these masks without even realizing it, trying to protect ourselves from judgment or hurt. But guess what? Those masks can actually reflect back all the stuff we’re trying to hide, like pain and fear. So, if you’ve ever felt like you’re not quite getting a clear picture of who you are or where you’re going, stick around! We’re going to explore how to lift those masks and see ourselves—and the world—more clearly, with a sprinkle of canine wisdom along the way!

Delving deep into the intertwining themes of healing, trauma, and the wisdom of our canine companions, this episode presents a rich tapestry of insights and experiences. The conversation is sparked by a poignant review...

(00:00):
Today we have a very urgent, important conversation and topic
that I have been instructed tostop everything I'm doing and share
with you. It's very powerfulinformation about our mirrors and
our masks and how they workand how they attempt to assist us

(00:22):
along our path. So hold thatthought. I'll be right back.
Welcome to Howling at theMoon, where the mystical meets the
practical. And the K9 spiriguides lead the way. I'm your host,
Heather lee Strom. In 2022, Iexperienced a sudden, life changing

(00:43):
spiritual awakening after alifetime of struggling with who am
I and why am I here? For fivedecades, the world felt cold, cold
and confusing. Now I see thepatterns, the purpose and the bigger
magical picture. My mission,to help you find your way through

(01:07):
your own awakening journey. Here you'll discover limitless possibilities
for spiritual growth, powerfulhealing frequencies and extraordinary
energetic professionals, eachdesigned to guide you into deeper
healing and remembrance. Someepisodes feature enlightening wisdom

(01:31):
from spiritually evolved guesthealers, visionaries and authors.
Others are led by themultidimensional canine spirit guides,
themselves sharing theirunique intergalactic wisdom and frequency.
If you've been craving deepertruth, multi dimensional healing

(01:52):
and a little cosmic magic, you've just found your pack. Listen
and watch on Spotify orYouTube and bring the magic back
into your life.
Today something reallyextraordinary happened and I want
to share it with you. I'vebeen instructed to share it with

(02:14):
you from the K9 spiri guides. It's very important. It's a great
example of how these guidescan work on many fronts. I think
if you followed me for alittle bit, you might have heard
me on multiple occasions shareabout one of the guides, specifically

(02:35):
Oeragon, who is on the COVIDof the book, she's the Black Panther
and the Basenji. She is verypowerful in removing masks that block
us, number one, from seeingourselves and also that we use to

(02:59):
portray a false sense of selfto the world. So we tend to hide
behind these masks. But what Ihave found in healing sessions with
her is that it's not so muchwhat we're hiding from. Sometimes
I've actually seen in thesemasks, masks that they have a mirror

(03:22):
on the inside of them. So whenwe put up masks for to hide behind
and we're not conscious ofthis, it's a very subconscious event
that happens. The ego doesthis automatically to protect us
from being hurt, to protect usfrom other people judging us and

(03:43):
to protect us from our ownself judgment. So when these masks
go into place, they actuallyhave a mirror on the back of them.
And I've seen these withpeople I've worked with. And this
mirror reflects back to us theactual pain and fear and lies that

(04:10):
we are circulating through ourpsyche, that we tell ourselves. And
when this happens, it's like afilter through your senses. So you
tend to only see these things, and there's a reason for it. So if
you have a mask that's tellingyou that the world is. Is dangerous,

(04:37):
or people can't be trusted, orhumans are abusive, then that's all
you're going to see when youinteract with the world. And that's
why it's so important thatthese masks be. Be healed and removed.
And that's what Oeragon doesin her healing sessions. And you

(05:01):
can't effectively connect toyour higher self or your actual divine
soul until this is actuallyremoved. You can't see past it. So
she's a critical step in ourability to heal and ascend and expand
our energetic frequency, ourawareness, our spirituality. So what

(05:27):
happened today was I receiveda review of my book from a person
that I don't know in NorthCarolina. I'm going to show you the
review here in a second. Butwhen I read her review, her energy
just washed over me. Andessentially I got to see life through

(05:49):
her mask. And it was a verypainful place. I could feel her pain.
And I was honored that shefelt the need to share openly and
honestly from her heart. Andit's very important that we discuss

(06:10):
this because this effect thatyou're going to see, what she writes
about is exactly how. How thisbook works. It's exactly what's going
to happen possibly when youread it, when your family reads it,
the book will stir up anythingthat you need healing for or with,

(06:37):
and it will bring it to thesurface. And it can be an. An. A
horrific explosion of emotion. And it's not just because some of
the stories in the book arereally, really sad, because they
are. I mean, let's face it,these. Most of the dogs in the book

(06:57):
that I share have passed on.So we've got some stories about dogs
leaving, and that's not acomfortable experience for most people,
but it's necessary for you tounderstand, so I had to share that
part. Not all of them you'llbe experiencing that, but some of
the key players. It was veryimportant I shared that part of their

(07:18):
story because at that momentthere was a major opportunity for
growth. But if this bookspeaks to you, it's not just the
sadness from the dog'spassing, it's the energy that the
canine spirit guides arestirring up in you. And they're bringing

(07:41):
these emotions to the surfacefor a reason. So that these energies
can be healed and dissolvedand removed forever. This is exactly
what they did with me. Thisbook was hard to write. I was openly
honest, flayed open in frontof all of the world so that you could

(08:06):
see exactly the inner workingsof my process, my growth, my pain,
my agony. So that it wouldresonate within you. So let's look
at this review. I'm going toread it for those of you who are

(08:27):
listening so that you knowwhat it says. It's titled if you
want to cry, listen to thisbook. And that is true. There is
a disclaimer obviously shelistened on audible. There is a disclaimer
in the beginning of the bookthat says I encourage you to abandon
any limitations you have aboutreading sad stories about animals

(08:50):
because it is within our painand the difficult parts of our life
that we receive the greatestlearning. The sad parts are filled
with revelations and gifts. SoI encourage you to courageously venture
forward. So that was an addedcontent to the audible book because

(09:13):
I knew it was going to be hardfor some people to read this or listen
to this book and I encourageyou to do it anyway. But let's, let's
continue with her herheartfelt comments here. Many times
I wanted to stop listening andabandon this book. I'll be honest,
I thought this book was aboutdog spirit guides. Although it has

(09:36):
information about spiritguides, most of the book is gut wrenching
painful stories about dogsbeing mistreated by the author or
her father. That's not true. But that's her. That's her experience.
That's her version of thestory and we'll talk about that in

(09:57):
a little bit. I know she istelling these stories to teach others,
but for someone like me who ishighly sensitive to the feelings
and pain of animals, especially dogs, at times it was
unbearable. The mysteriousdisappearance of her first dog with
her puppies when author was asmall child was painful to hear.

(10:18):
The fact that her mother stillrefuses to tell her what happened
to her dog with her puppiesmakes me think that they that her
parents killed them all. Ifthey gave them away, they would have
told her and there's someassumption on her part there, but
I'm not going to argue withany of that. Then the story about
her selling her dogs to get ahorse. It made me really upset. Dogs

(10:41):
went from her protectors andbest friends to objects to sell because
they were not good enoughanymore. At the end she lost her
dogs and didn't get the horse.Dogs were upset and devastated. Not
knowing why she sent themaway. They never knew another human
but her. She betrayed them. The only excuse I would I will accept

(11:03):
is she was a teenager at thattime. She didn't know any better.
And that's true. Her storyresonated with me. Her childhood
abuse, neglect. I know shelearned a lot and changed because
of her experiences. As I sitwriting this review surrounded by
my three dogs, I'm devastatedfor the suffering some of the dogs

(11:25):
in this book experienced aswell as many dogs in the world still
do. I often ask, why are theseangels? Why are these angels have
to suffer so much in the handsof the people who when all they ever
want to do is love them. Whatwill it take to change humanity and

(11:49):
be kind? And that's kind ofthe point of the book. One of the
points of the book anyway.Overall, I recommend that you listen
to this book. The lesson ischild abu. Child abuse leads to animal
abuse. I can't say that Iagree with that statement, but that's

(12:09):
her experience. Generationalpain must be healed and stopped.
Absolutely, I agree with thatstatement. And that is one of the
messages in the book. Whenparents abuse children because they
were abused by their ownparents, it changes children's brains
to be abusive towards animalsand their own children. I can't say

(12:33):
that that was my experience, but again, this is her experience.
Someone has to stop thepattern and make a decision that
they will break this pattern.I know it's possible because I too
was physically and emotionallyabused by my parents. Yet I could
never be cruel to my childrenor animals. As a teenager, I looked

(12:56):
my mother in the eye and toldher that I will live my life exactly
opposite of the way she livedhers. I kept my promise. And I know
that anyone can make adecision not to be cruel. That's
true, precious. Dogs are herefor us to heal. Often they suffer
to help us learn and heal thepain. And that's absolutely true.

(13:22):
The reason I wanted to sharethis was because, like I said when
I read her review, it's likeher soul, her spirit just came and
sat in my lap and showed mewhere she was, showed me what she
was feeling. I could feel heremotions as strongly as my own and

(13:47):
it felt very uncomfortable. Itwas exactly where I had sat before.
The K9 spiri guides workedwith me. And so what she's seeing
in this book, what she'spicking up on, it appears to be a
negative review, yet she gaveme three, five stars. So what she's

(14:08):
picking up on is thetriggering that the guides have provided
her, the. There's some healingthat needs to be done. So the statements
that she makes, the absolutestatements that she makes about the
world and about abusers andabout how the dogs were abused, that's

(14:28):
what she extrapolated from thebook. Because of her mirror, because
of her mask, she was not ableto draw in the healing frequency
of what the canine guides wereoffering. And it kind of sounds like
she might not have evenfinished the book. I could be wrong.
I don't know. She's welcome tocorrect me on that. And I would love
to have a chat with her ifshe's watching or if anyone who knows

(14:52):
who wrote this review, pleaseput us in contact. I would love to
have a chat with her, aheartfelt chat, because I'm very
grateful for her willingnessto share herself. But it's a learning
opportunity, and that's why Iwant to kind of pick it apart a little

(15:15):
bit, to demonstrate how whatwe perceive in the world is filtered
through what we need to healin ourselves. So I had the same thoughts
as her before I wrote thebook, before the K9 guide came into

(15:36):
my life, before they explainedto me how everything worked and why
everything happened, beforethey healed me magically and energetically
through our sessions together. And this is how it works. So other
people will read the book. AndI've gotten lots of. Of different
perspectives by people who'veread the book. Other people who read

(15:58):
the book don't even resonatewith the parts that she resonated
with. Instead, they see thehealing parts or they see the spiritual
parts, because when you get tothat point of expansion, you can
understand the big picture. You can understand your own journey,

(16:19):
your own pain, and you canjust read the book and go, I get
it. I get it. This was allnecessary in order for me to understand.
And none of the book, the dogsand the stories were abused. They
went willingly along a journeywith me, knowing exactly where I

(16:41):
was and exactly what I needed. And the point of the book is that
the canines are so much moreadvanced than we are. When they come
into this world, they arealready part of our soul family,
and they know what we need. It's very hard on this earth plane.
It's the hardest place toincarnate. And as we lose connection,

(17:07):
as we feel isolated from oursource, it gets even harder and harder
to find our way back. Butthat's the point of being here. So
the canines provide us withthe tools, the. And they're not really
able to, like, lay it all outfor us and share it obviously with

(17:27):
us, because they're notallowed to interfere. So they are
kind of sort of not really, but sort of passive on our journey.
But what my book reveals isthat they are participating much
more actively than we realize. So do please take that into consideration.
But for someone like this, forthis type of perspective, if you

(17:52):
were my client and we wereworking in a session together, there
is a lot of healingopportunity there. And the guides
are really activating her. They're revving her up and attempting
to get her to see what needsto be healed within herself. And

(18:13):
when that is healed, she won'tsee the pain anymore. She'll read
this book and she'll see thejoy. She'll see the growth. She'll
see how beautifully thecanines served me on my journey and
how they willingly walked nextto me through the process and gave

(18:34):
me, provided me with theexperiences that I required, and
they protected me and guardedme throughout the entire journey,
not just this life, but otherlives as well. So this is a heavy
topic, and this is animportant topic. So I'm very grateful

(18:54):
for the reviewer who was soopenly honest and just laid her heart
out there on her review. Thankyou. Thank you. Thank you. I hope
that someday we meet and wecan have a conversation and share
some energy. I. It sounds likewe have a very similar history. And

(19:16):
I. I hope that the book didspeak to you on some level, that
that shows you the way to let.To survive all of that and to find
the peace with it like I did.And again, the K9 spiri guides are
inviting you to engage withthem. They can help you. They can

(19:36):
just lift this right off ofyou. And I know you have dogs, three
dogs of your own. You'veprobably got three guides right there.
So. All right. So in light ofthis conversation and in light of
the topic with the mask andthe mirrors, the guide that wishes

(19:59):
to deliver a very special, very, very special healing for this
podcast today is Oeragon, andshe is the dog, the guide. On the
COVID of the book, we've gotthe black panther and the Basenji.

(20:22):
So she's coming forward tooffer us some healing. So I would
like for those who wish toreceive the healing to acknowledge
this out loud or psychically, however you wish to do it, acknowledge
that you wish to receive thishealing, this whatever it might be,
