Dr Roberta Diaz Brinton is a powerhouse pioneer in Alzheimer's research, revolutionizing our understanding of the role of estrogen as a risk factor for women. 

As the head of the Centre for Innovation in Brain Science at the University of Arizona, she has become a household name in the fight against this debilitating disease. Her ground-breaking scientific discoveries have led to the development of innovative therapies to prevent, delay, and treat Alzheimer's, including the first-ever regenerative therapeutic to regenerate the degenerated brain. She is a true trailblazer in her field with a PhD earned as an NIH Predoctoral Fellow and an NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship at Rockefeller University.

As a Regents Professor of Pharmacology, Neuroscience, and Neurology at her alma mater, the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, Brinton has become a go-to expert on women's health, serving on the Women Alzheimer's Movement Scientific Advisory Council, the National Institutes of Health Director's Advisory Committee, the National Institute on Aging Board of Scientific Counsellors, and the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF) Board of Governors. Her work has earned her numerous accolades, including the ADDF Scientist of the Year, the Melvin R. Goodes Prize for Excellence in Alzheimer's Drug Discovery, and the 2010 U.S. Presidential Citizens Medal, the highest civilian honour, for her outstanding contributions to improving science and technology education for students.
