Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello everyone.
It's Wayne here from eStimSystems and yet again I'm in a
hotel room strange enough againin America doing a podcast
recording.
I think the last time Iactually did a podcast recording
I was in Hollywood, and thistime I'm on the other side of
the States.
I'm actually in Orlando andtechnically I'm on holiday, but
yes, I did sneak the podcastinggear in.
So things keep getting better.
(00:21):
Estim is now over 20 years old.
Back in September, the 10th2004, we had our first order,
and that makes us 20 years old.
Things have gone from strengthto strength.
We've had ups and downs on theway, but we're still here and
we're still enjoying ourselvesand we're still enjoying
producing products and ideas forpeople to play with, and it's
(00:45):
great fun.
This podcast was originallydesigned as being something that
was supposed to be a little bitgeneric.
I didn't want it turning intojust an advert for eastim
systems and actually that becamequite hard.
Because you do something everysingle day and it is your life
and, in our case, our business.
It's hard to try and separateout little bits of that.
(01:06):
I'm not going to bother anymore.
I'm simply going to do apodcast every so often about
what we are doing as eastimsystems.
So if you feel that this isgoing to turn into an advert for
eastim systems hopefully it'snot going to be an advert for
our products by 2b it's possiblymore realistic to say that this
is what we do on a day-to-daybasis.
So we're going to just throwcaution to the winds and just
(01:27):
talk about e-stim and e-stimsystems and what we get up to
now.
I've already mentioned it's beena little bit of a while since
I've recorded an actual podcast, mainly because we have these
things called holidays andthey've sort of crept in,
although we've managed to do twoholidays with a gap in the
middle.
Unfortunately, running your ownbusiness, doing the classic
two-week family holiday, gets alittle bit difficult because of
(01:48):
the number of things that aregoing on, and we also decided to
do some mad things, like westarted doing live streams.
So the last Sunday of the monthwe now do a live stream and
that gets converted into apodcast.
So if you miss the live stream, you can go back to YouTube a
couple of days later and watchus on youtube as a live stream.
Or if you don't want to do thatand you haven't got much time,
(02:09):
then pick up the podcast and thepodcast will be a edited
version of the live stream andthen, every so often, I'll
produce a podcast like this, which is basically just me
talking about life, the universeand everything.
Now, since our little trip tohollywood, have been run off our
feet, mainly because we decidedto launch new products and they
turned out to be rather popularand people keep buying them and
(02:31):
we have to keep manufacturingthem.
In fact, they've been morepopular than we expected and
we're still catching up on someof the orders, so if your
order's been delayed a littlebit, please bear with us.
We are getting there.
One of the benefits ofmanufacturing in-house means
that we know where themanufacturing is.
It's that machine there, andthat machine is stacked up
waiting to manufacture more ofthe things that you're waiting
(02:52):
for.
We also came up with the brightidea of increasing our
manufacturing capacity by buyinga new machine, and the new
machine has new bits and piecesthat make it go faster and
allows us to cut down themanufacturing time.
However, we decided to buy itand have it installed in the
(03:13):
time space between two holidays, and it hasn't gone completely
to plan.
We managed to get in thebuilding and if you've ever
visited us, we don't have anyroom for anything.
So we had to move two machinesout.
We had to get rid of onemachine.
We then put the new machine inplace of the old machine and
pushed everything back in.
That took us out, I think, about three days, and then we
had to recode everything for thenew machine, and that's a
(03:34):
process that's still going on.
And then we had to change thetooling and then we discovered
some of the tooling iscompatible with the tooling we
had.
So we've had to order, ordernew tooling and it's been an
interesting few weeks and it'sstill going on.
We're getting there.
We're over the hump.
Now we at least have themachine manufacturing and we're
beginning to catch up on thethings that the machine was
doing, which is good.
(03:55):
But yeah, again, I'm stillgoing to say please bear with us
if there's any delays, particularly metal work, because
we're trying to catch up.
We've also upgraded our YouTubestudio.
Hopefully you've noticed somechanges on the YouTube videos
we're now producing.
This has allowed us to do amonthly stream, so we're now
doing a monthly live stream, which is the last Sunday of the
(04:16):
month at 5pm.
We've done a couple now.
The first one was not too bad.
Good response from peopleposting comments and interacting
with us.
The second one was a blastbecause we had Joanne and
joanne's reviews and her entireteam on the stream and it was
just a good hour of chat andcomment and discussion and it
was brilliant.
(04:37):
We do actually follow joanne'sreview.
So if you want a weekly livestream, if a monthly isn't
enough, you want to go and do aweekly live stream, then
joanne's reviews, just type itinto youtube.
She does a weekly live streamwith her team on Saturday at 5pm
.
She does it weekly and she mustbe mad because she still
manages to come up withinteresting content every single
(04:57):
week.
I know how much effort isinvolved in just doing a single
live stream once a month.
She does it every week.
We found the streaming is reallyuseful because it allows
customers to talk directly to us.
So if you have any questions orcomments or you want to know
why we do something in aparticular way, or you just want
to talk, east in, then come andjoin the stream and come and
(05:17):
have a chat and we can see whatwe can come up with.
We've already had a few newideas that have sort of copped
up from conversations on thosestreams.
Who knows what else mighthappen, but we're going to keep
on doing the streaming.
We're also building up a largequantity of how-to videos and
product description videos, which will gradually be
filtering into our systems overthe next few months, mainly
(05:39):
because we feel that we need togive you as many different ways
of understanding how Eastonworks and how to understand how
to get the best out of ourproducts.
Doing it via YouTube channelsmakes it so much easier
providing, of course, we canstick within YouTube's rules.
So, unfortunately, you're notgoing to get some pretty lady or
some hunk of a guydemonstrating how to do
(06:00):
something, because YouTube willsee that and throw us off the
channel.
As Joanne puts it, you getstuck in the naughty corner.
So we still have to keep wellwithin YouTube's rules.
So there's certain things wecan't do, but most things we can
discuss.
So if you've got any questionsor video ideas that you want us
to do, then please considerleaving them in the comments
(06:21):
below or just drop us an email.
We do read all the comments andwe will try to respond to
everything that is posted, andwe do get ideas from what people
have posted.
So it gives you an opportunityto guide us in the direction
that will help you the most.
Lastly, we've got our next bigshow coming up, which is going
to be Eurofame in Germany, whichis in a couple of weeks time.
It's going to be interesting.
(06:42):
We've done a few Eurofames.
It's a trade show, and I'vealready been asked are we
launching anything new?
And my answer to that is I'mnot going to say anything, no
comment.
You'll have to watch some ofthe antics at the show to find
out whether anything is newgoing to come up.
I'm not saying anything at all,but anyway, if you are coming
(07:04):
to Germany, please pop in andsee us.
I can't remember what our standnumber is.
We won't be that difficult tofind and then, just as we arrive
back, we will hit our next livestream.
Literally, I think we come backon the Saturday and we'll be
doing the live stream on theSunday.
So that live stream could beinteresting because you might
find out what we got up to inGermany.
Anyway, thank you for listening.
(07:24):
This has been a yes, anotherpodcast.
I'm still trying to find mypodcasting feet, so I'm still
experimenting with kit andtechniques and cameras and
editing and all sorts of things.
So hopefully it is working.
If it's not, please let me know.
Please give me any comments.
You have tips, ideas, anythinglike that.
But whatever you do, please besafe and have fun.
(07:44):
Thanks for listening.
Bye.
If you like what I'm doing, please consider subscribing to
the podcast and, if possible, leave a review.
There's various mechanisms outthere on the various podcasting
channels that we're nowappearing, but whatever you do,
please be safe and have fun, andthanks for listening.
Bye.
