The Color Purple is a brilliant movie with stellar performances by all the actors and actresses. It is a joy to watch for black cinema lovers. I saw the movie today in the theater and I experienced a range of emotions. I laughed, cried and felt the heartfelt sentiment of song and celebration of womanhood. Fantasia Barrino was amazing in the role of Celie. Her voice was powerful and filled with lyrical words of hope and gratitude about life and the everyday challenges we face. I loved the movie and I give it a five-star rating. The choreography, the music and the way it was put together were very wonderful. The audience sang, clapped and was very involved with the movie, which made it even more beautiful to watch.
