Do you remember the great Halloween candy scares of the 1970’s and 1980’s? I do! I’ll have some sorrid tales of ACTUAL Halloween candy tampering in this one, The Halloween Special episode of the Bobcast. Have you ever been to the Whaley House, of San Diego, California? I have, many, many times. I’m convinced the place is haunted by several different ghosts. No, I really believe this. I’ve seen and felt some unexplained things in this house, that defy reason and scepticism. Check this one out for the lowdown on what could be happening in the Whaley House.
The “original “ Misfits were together from 1977 until 1983. You know what? Quite a bit of very interesting and dramatic incidents occured in such a short period of time. Who am I kidding? These guys were not only the kings of Horror-Punk (and originators!!!), they were also the kings of some serious high school level drama. Guess what, though? I still love them. Yes, they are one of the greatest rock n’ roll and punk bands of ... Read more
Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion? Yes, let’s talk about it, OK? This is Bobtober, for the love of Halloween, after all. What do I love about the Haunted Mansion? Pretty much everything. There really isn’t any linear story behind the whole thing, but this is a for sure “who cares”??? kind of situation. The Disney Magic (tm) is strong with this one. From the inside jokes of the imagineers (the tombstones of yesteryear, the names on th...

Two Guns is a legit ghost town, There isn’t anything there other than the spirits of the restless dead and some crumbling edifices. Ok, Lovecraftian wording aside, Two Guns is gnarly. I’m sure it’s cursed. I’m sure it’s haunted. Listen and decide for yourself.
I had the time of my life in Japan when Tiltwheel toured there in the year 2000. I only had one bad experience - someone tried to steal my shoes. I lost them anyway. That’s how it goes, right? I saw a bunch of great bands, made some friends who I treasure to this day. What a country!
Taking a poop and you hear a knock? Might be the ghost of Hammerbomb Manor! Or a Sidewalk Slammer going down, Who knows?
Want to know about the state of Rock ‘n Roll in San Diego today? Well, check out The Dodges. They have the chops. They have the attitude. They have everything Rolling Stone told you was important in a band. Minus the asshole factor. These dudes are the real deal, Fun, good timey, powerful, aggressive in all the right ways. What makes Oatman, Arizona so special? The hordes of wild burros roaming the streets? Well, yes. The haunted hotel, where Clark Gable and Carole Lombard are honeymooning still? Sure, I guess so. The massive collection of Route 66 junk, Trump shirts and confederate flags for sale in the multitude of gift shops? Yeah, that crap stands out for sure. Really, it’s all about the ghost stories for me. That’s what makes Oatman a gem.
My love for Godzilla goes back a long way. The days of yesteryear, around 1980 or so. Godzilla is so much my favorite. I’ll also regale you with a story of a drunken King Kong. Good times.
Wow. We talked for quite a while. Todd is something else. I gush, but with good reason. Todd is such a rare kind of person. He’s an analog dude in a digital age, but so much more than that. I love him and I think it shows. We had a great talk about many things, The music in this one? Vacation, Xetas and Black Dots. Superb dude, superb bands and my favorite podcast to date. Enjoy!
Want to fall for hundreds or thousands of feet to your doom? Well, take a selfie over the rail at the Grand Canyon. You could die. Want to hear about something like this? Listen here. Also, ghosts. Ghosts are tight. I love ghosts. Grand Canyon ghosts are gnarly. There is a long history of spiritual activity at the Grand Canyon, from pre-Eurotrash invasion to the present. Also, listen to The Dodges. They are amazing.
We partied on this one. A LOT. Herein there lies a chat with Tiltwheel’s finest, the illustrious Rossi H. That was fun, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Cheers.
Ghosts on boats? Supposedly. I’ll talk about what I’ve felt and heard, as well as what Cap’n Bearcub has heard of on board the Star Of India and the Berkeley ferry, which are docked at the Maritime Museum of San Diego. History, ghost stories and local tourism. A good combo.
We’ll talk about the myriad things Western Settings has going on. From a new record coming out soon (Sept. of 2019), a month long tour through the Western, Southwest, Northwest and Central USA through Western and Central Canada and everything inbetween. Aaron was Tiltwheel’s first bass player, my roomate and super good friend. I miss him tons. Here I regale you with tales of the years we spent together doing fun stuff and making music that just kind of rules.
Ghosts in Arkansas? I think so. I talk about a ghostly experience. I also talk a little about the spectre of racism, that still haunts us to this day. And why it shouldn’t.
While talking to Squarecrow, I had an epiphany - they are the raddest dudes ever. It’s not that hard to believe. Meet them, greet them, give them your full attention, for they are the best. We talk about everything under the sun, from bands they love to bands they hate. You’ll find they don’t hate anything. They are that nice. So that’s kind of redundant. I could talk to these dudes for hours more.
History is important. Especially when you’ve been a band for 27-something years. That’s old as shit. Wow.
