The conversation also ventured into the local high school basketball scene, where Backwood proudly shared that he won a state championship during his sophomore year at Curie High School.
He reflected on a pivotal moment in his life when he made the difficult decision to quit basketball mid-season in college to support his family, a choice that led to him writing his first rap just two weeks later.
Backwood Jones also discussed his upcoming album, which he has been diligently working on, and the positive energy surrounding its creation.
However, he candidly admitted that his perfectionist tendencies have sometimes prolonged his projects, as he strives to ensure the final product meets his high standards.
