Announcer (00:00):
Welcome to In His Circle, from women for women.
We're here to help you findpeace in knowing you are in
God's hands.
Our goal is sharing the Word ofGod in simple conversations.
We're here to help you thriveevery day.
And now, here is your host.

Tiffany Windsor (00:19):
Good morning.
I'm Tiffany Windsor.

Mary Koning (00:21):
And I'm Mary Koning .

Tiffany Windsor (00:22):
And today we're going to talk about crossroads.

Mary Koning (00:25):
Jeremiah 6, 16 says this is what the Lord says
Stand at the crossroads and look, ask for the ancient paths, ask
where the good way is and walkin it, and you will find rest
for your souls.
So, circle Sisters, I ask thatwe ask the Lord for our path,
our next steps, our next words, our decisions, our choices, that

(00:50):
we trust in the Lord with allour heart and lean not on our
own understanding, and that wecan rest easy knowing that the
Lord is for us.
In Jesus' name, we pray Amen.

Tiffany Windsor (01:02):
Amen In Jesus' name we pray Amen, Amen.
Crossroads can be a word thatmight trigger some people,
because if you're at acrossroads, typically the
connotation is you're at a pointwhere you need to make a
decision that you may not wantto make and that can be really
difficult.

Mary Koning (01:21):
And I don't know about you, but when I hear
crossroads, I've found myself onmany trails figuring out which
way to go.
It's not really marked veryclearly and I'm like I just
don't want to take extra steps.
I don't want to have to circleback or retrace my steps or get
lost.
That attitude has not reallyprepared me for my journey very

(01:43):
well, knowing that there isgoing to be some backtracking.
There is going to be somebacktracking, there is going to
be some roundabouts and there'salways going to be a lesson in
the wandering.

Tiffany Windsor (01:52):
When we hit those crossroads, one of the
questions that comes up is whatis God's vision for my future?
Am I going to be going straightahead on that path?
Am I going to be turning right?
Am I going to be turning left?
Am I going to be turning left?
Is there a stop sign?
When you're at the crossroads, you may feel like you don't have
choices.
So I recommend that you praythrough those crossroads,

(02:16):
because that's where you'regoing to get God's guidance to
help you make decisions.
I know in the past, before Istarted following the Lord, I
was making my own decisions.
That didn't always serve mewell, and so crossroads for me
have been more about waitingwaiting on the Lord.
So sometimes those crossroadscan be days ahead, weeks ahead,

(02:40):
for me, years ahead.
What I love about listening tothe Lord and knowing, through my
prayers, that he's guiding myevery step.
When that moment comes, itdoesn't feel like a crossroad,
it doesn't feel scary to me.
It feels like the green lighthas turned on.
I'm at the intersection and thegreen light has turned on.
That says Go forward, my dearchild.

Mary Koning (03:02):
I love that image so much, Tiffany, because it's
reinforcing the fact that ourGod and Savior loves us and is
with us and wants to show us theway.
And I don't know if you're well, I know you.
So I'm going to say I do knowyou are a strong, independent
woman and as strong, independentwomen, I sometimes forge ahead

(03:24):
without checking with the Lord, feeling like I have to control
the situation and the outcome, especially in the work I do with
being a teacher and having towhat feels like sometimes forced
information on these thirdgraders, whether they want to
know it or not, instead ofmaking way for the Lord, Like,
really, my job is to usher inthe presence of the Lord, usher

(03:48):
in the students into thepresence of the Lord, usher in
the information the Lord wants.
I guess my struggle isreleasing control versus just
trusting in the one who holdseverything in his hands.

Tiffany Windsor (04:01):
What I have experienced recently is when
there are different crossroadsin my life.
It affects some of my closecircle sisters who may not as
easily process my crossroads asI do.
It throws them off becausethey're expecting a certain path
, a certain pattern.
Maybe not for me anymore, because those who are close to

(04:24):
me know that I do not like tostay put in one place.
The Lord seems to have me doinga lot of things and going in
different directions, but I'vecome to understand how I need to
recognize how my crossroadsaffect other women.

Mary Koning (04:41):
It's a really interesting idea knowing that,
as my family, all of ourcrossroads affected each other
and then kind of the dismantlingof the family and trying to
kind of operate in those samebroken methods.
Our family has had to relearnhow to operate together and
we're still in the relearningprocess and what that's shown me

(05:04):
is I will always be in arelearning process.
There's really no standard andto just embrace that and let the
Lord lead, and a verse thatcomes to mind about that is
Psalm 119, 105.
Your word is a lamp unto myfeet and a light unto my path.
So it's just the next step.
God's not going to give me nextweek or next year.
I know generally what I'm doing, I hope.

(05:26):
I think he really wants us tohave that trust journey with him
.

Tiffany Windsor (05:30):
And so many people are going to get stuck on
that trust journey that theynever even reached the
crossroads to be able to havethat faith in the Lord.
You know, faith is aboutgetting you out of your comfort
zone.
That's a challenging place tobe because we get stuck in our
comfort zones.
Sometimes the opportunitiesthat come up appear to be more

(05:52):
challenges and become verydisruptful, depending on how you
address them.
Because if you address thosecrossroads from a prayerful
standpoint, I truly believe itclears the path ahead of you.

Mary Koning (06:07):
That is so timely for me today.
Thank you very much, tiffany.
Is that my comfort zone?
The Lord is really asking me tostretch my comfort zone out of
its boundaries, into reallyunderstanding what it means to
be a circle sister in anothercircle sister's environment and

(06:31):
home.
How do we have a closecommunity where we might
potentially be living in thesame house or the same general
area?
And we talked about how to beauthentic, have some good house
rules, circle back and talkabout challenging issues and be
authentic.

Tiffany Windsor (06:52):
So, mary, as you're talking about this in
your authentic voice, I amwatching you struggle with not
being able to speak and have alittle cough, and I wanted to
you know this.
I just want to remind everyoneour bodies tell us so much and
if we will listen in the momentthat that's happening, where you

(07:15):
were trying to speak out someof your truth that you may have
been stuffing down, what happens?
You can't speak, you startcoughing, and I just wanted to
remind you in this moment, everyone in this moment, listen
to your bodies, because thisisn't about Mary having a cold.
This is about Mary finding hervoice.

Mary Koning (07:39):
And that has been such a powerful piece of
information for me, because thisthing started right before
school started up again and myjob is challenging and I'm
struggling to love it, and itinvolves speaking all day,
speaking and teaching.
This thing also comes up onpodcast days where I'm using my

(08:01):
voice, and we had talked aboutthis in prior to recording, and
I'm remembering as a child Iused to get croup every year,
and as a child I wasn't free tospeak.
As a child, I couldn't vocalizeor even put words to my
feelings, and so this has been alifelong journey to find my

(08:21):
voice, and so my body is sayingoh, this is new.
We don't know what to do aboutyour voice.
We're trying to help you orstop you.
Maybe stopping my voice feltsafer.
It did in my marriage to notspeak the truth, and when I
started to speak the truth, themarriage couldn't survive the
truth, and so here's to all ofus finding our voices and

(08:45):
speaking our truth and walkingin the light.
I'd like to end with number six, 24 through 26.
The Lord bless you and keep you.
The Lord make his face shineupon you and be gracious to you.
The Lord turn his face towardyou and give you peace Circle
sisters, jesus name, amen.

Announcer (09:07):
Amen.
Thank you for joining us.
Peace Circle sisters In Jesus'name, amen Amen.
