And then I got a FaceTime fromher and she was laying in bed
looking rough 20 minutes ago.
Yeah, this was about.
Yeah, almost 20 minutes ago.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
I just said Booth, are we really doing this?
And I said yes, you weredriving, You're like like.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Yeah, I got locks with me and I'm like, oh god,
it's real.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
I said it's, it's, it's a tuesday okay, wednesday
morning okay, easy there 10 am.
We thought that sam can't beable to make it easy there.
Uh, mondays and tuesdays seelocks, you're on my team, aren't
you?
Oh, he's so cute.
Uh, mondays and tuesday are mySaturday and Sunday.
I work weekends, that's right.
So, last night was a Sunday funday for me.
Basically, it just doesn'talign with the rest of the world
and I understand that itactually works out well for me

(02:14):
because the lines at the barsare non-existent on a Tuesday
night.
I can confirm.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
And you don't align with the rest of the world.
So it fits well.
And she came in the elevator.
Uh, on the way up here I go,jesus christ, she said one word
and I was like I'm drunk, samcat no, okay, also can't.
It was like a dragon.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Just this air of just alcohol came rushing into my
face twice and I'm drinking analani new and I feel like that
kind of smells like a.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Yeah, I didn't yeah, I didn't smell cosmic stardust.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Alex said that I didn't smell, so I think it's
just you.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
He's being very nice.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
He's sleep deprived because he had a baby six days
ago.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
He's delusional.
Okay, okay, listen, I'm here,booth.
I don't know what else you wantfrom me.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
So what'd you do?

Speaker 3 (02:59):
Okay, well, started at the classic Rose Pepper.
You've been there.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Yes, east Nashville.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
East Nashville Delicious, slutty Mexican food
the best, Like just it's good, but their margaritas they'll get
you.
Yeah, we had two pitchers.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Why are you holding your drink like that?
We're not sponsored by Alani.
We're not getting paid by Alani, so you can put that down.
I don't.
If you're not watching onYouTube, I'm not holding it.
She's literally holding herLani right by her head.
She's a mess.
She just spilt all over herChippewa sweatshirt.
I mean go home, go to bed.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
You made me be here.
Can I hold your baby?
That will make me feel better.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
No, he is not going anywhere now are you joking?

Speaker 3 (03:40):
I already held him when you went to the potty, um,
or the bathroom.
You're a grown man, he goespotty.
You go to the bathroom.
I have to.
Uh, can we talk about my firsttime alone with locks?

Speaker 2 (03:49):
let's do it I was trusted.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
I was what is it called?
Yeah, trusted, uh to watchlocks for I don't know.
It's like three hours.
I think I have alani still onmy face on monday this week yeah
remember when you came to myhouse, yeah, he said.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Yeah, we hung out outside and we watched the
eclipse yeah, I think that wasthe first time that either dre
or myself did not have him yeah, she was freaking out.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Well, I mean warranted, I completely
understand that, but she waslike I am in such a pickle
luckily I have not not a normaljob so it was a Monday afternoon
and she had to go to a shootwhich was on Broadway and she's
like I cannot take my four monthold to Broadway.
Yeah, I was like I mean, goodfor you, I would have probably
brought my four month old toBroadway but probably not.

(04:37):
No, she's in there.
Is there any way you can comepick him up?
Is there any way you can watchhim?
Of course I have nothing to do.
It's my Saturday.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
Honestly, it was like the best.
My friend from college is intown, hence me drinking
margaritas on the porch lastnight, but I'd say that we
divided and conquered very well.
Obviously, locks is like thechillest baby ever.
He cried for two and a halfseconds and I discovered that he
loves baby trap music that aboy uh head, shoulders, knees

(05:06):
and toes, but it's like trapremix the song kind of slaps.
Have you ever heard it?

Speaker 2 (05:09):
no, play for you.
I'm hanging out and I get apicture of him flipping me off
and I'm like he's been with samcat for an hour and she sends
back a photo of just flippingoff the camera.
I go what is going on here?

Speaker 3 (05:21):
first of all, are you confused?
Are you surprised?
No, no, I actually just lovethat.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
So I screen like that's a whole photo.
But like him, I go.
What is going on here?
First of all, are you confused?
Are you surprised?
No, I'm not surprised.
No.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
I actually just love that, so I screened like that's
a whole photo, but like him justwith the middle finger up on my
hand, I zoomed in and sent thatto you.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
Hope your trip's going well, dad.
How's the masters?
You left me with a stranger.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
And then Sam Cat just sends him home, just.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Okay, I learned on Monday.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
I cannot dress kids.
It's the worst.
I cannot dress children.
So obviously everyone I know isprocreating, so everybody has
little kids.
I've hung out with all of them.
I love them dearly.
I treat them as if they're myown.
I feed them, I change theirdiapers all of these things I
could not get him back into.
He had that Nike onesie, yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
No.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
It's a squiggle monster.
No, I was like you know what'sgood, naked, yeah, and I just
left it there.
I wrapped him in a blanket inhis little like push cart thing
and we made it happen.
But I was just like you are waytoo cute for me to upset.
I just I was like going throughmy mind of all the children
that I've hung out with.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
I don't know that I've ever dressed them.
Yeah, it's tough.
That's why I never put pants onthem.
Like I told you before, now youunderstand it's like a pain in
the butt.
Dre loves his outfits and shedoes such a good job of picking
them out and anytime it's likemy full day with them.
She's like what do you wantthem to wear?
And I was like, let's make itsimple, like, and so now he has
no pants on today, or sometimes, like when she was gone out of
town, I sent her a photo and itwas like four in the afternoon
and he was still wearing hispajamas.
I'm like, yeah, of course he is.

(06:49):
You don't need to change out ofthose.
He's comfy, he doesn't know?

Speaker 3 (06:51):
Yeah, so to his defense.
Well, it's not to his defense, because he's the one who did the
pooping.
He pooped through his diaperand then it got on the clothes
he was wearing.
So I had to change his clothes,so I took them off.
But getting a onesie over ababy's head is terrifying.
Right and he's looking at melike what are you doing?
And I'm like, bro, I don't know.
This is our first time together.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
It's like the more reps and when they're super
fragile right now, like Alex'sdaughter it's like you're so
nervous and scared and then, once it starts getting bigger,
it's like you just throw it overhis head and the only thing
without having pants.
The pants provide an extralayer if there is a blowout.
So right now he couldpotentially just have a blowout
go through the side of hisdiaper and right into my pants.
But that's right, because it'smy boy.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
I love him you know what I I sense no lies there
yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
So, alex, tell us about your first week as a
father.
You're you said you're tired.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Yeah, yeah tired's an understatement, for sure.
Definitely tired, but great man, it's awesome.
It's more love than I've everhad before.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
It's more than I expected and it's a blast and
you guys had a c-section, yes,and that was uh smooth and quick
a little quicker than I wascomfortable with.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
Like I couldn't believe how fast it was.
How much did you watch?
I peeked around the curtainafterwards so, as they were
sewing her back up, okay, I tooka look and it was.
I didn't see like, so I'm notgetting like full frontal view.
I'm off to the side a littlebit.
Yeah, which was probably forthe better, right, but it was a
blast.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
It was so cool to see the surgery in the room.
What was the amount of time?
Like you're saying, it was likea half hour from like putting
her in the bed to the babycoming.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
So they wheel wifey in first.
I can't go in when she's doingthe spinal tap.
Yeah, when they do that afterthey hanging out.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
whole thing was probably 30 minutes and so she's
obviously not feeling anythingjust sitting there she's just
feeling pressure, yeah, and liketugging that's really it.
And your girl's name.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Ara, Ara.
Yeah, it means wind in Albanianand it was not derived from the
Taylor Swift tour.
Oh okay, I didn't even think ofthat.
So yeah, asterix Big Swiftyyeah, I didn't think about that
either.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
E-R-A.
All right, yeah, big Swifties.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
Yeah, she is, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Okay, yeah, okay.
Did you have an image in yourhead of what air was going to
look like?

Speaker 1 (09:29):
We did one of the uh, one of the ultrasounds that
shows like the, the 3d scan, yeah, and so we kind of had an
idea.
But I was, like you know, googling things like how exact
are these that type like that, and so I had no real idea of
kind of what she was going tolook like.
But, uh, she looks like mywife's, like twin, as a baby

(09:53):
Right, it's wild.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
So era sleeping in the bedroom with you guys in a
bassinet yes, yeah, yeah, andthank God for the snoo.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
You know about the snoo.
Oh yeah, I got that Dude, thatthing is yeah.
That thing is something else,yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
No, yeah, we got one of those.
We got all the gadgets.
Um, the snuggle me was what heprimarily slept in Nice.
It's like the little soft, bigpillow that's got like a round
part and it kind of just tucksthem in, love it.
So he slept a lot like that andyou're getting some sleep.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
Yeah, actually, the last two nights she's only like
woken up twice Okay, which hasbeen great, and it's been quick,
like quick wake up, change, eatback to sleep, all in probably
like 40 minutes, All right.
So I kind of feel a littlespoiled.
For sure, I think we're kind ofwe kind of lucked out, we got a
little blessing baby and Idon't think she's being so
difficult.
Let's see if that continues.
And yeah, well, you know, fingers crossed, I want to knock

(10:46):
on all the wood, but we'll see,we'll knock on wood.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
That's what we've been saying.
We feel like we're blessed andwe're like, all right, the
storm's coming, the storm'scoming, the storm's coming, but
I feel like the storm's going tobe a maniac.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
I think he's absolutely going to be a maniac.
You're going to find him on theroof.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Yeah, yeah, 100% yeah 100%.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
I feel like that's how you were.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Yeah, I mean I wasn't there, but I've heard stories.
And then we'll get Lox and Nairset up on a date, maybe one day
, huh buddy.
What do you think?

Speaker 3 (11:15):
being born right now.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
I agree.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
I think everyone I know is having a girl, except
for you.
Yeah, yeah, I mean locks.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
You're going to have the pick of the litter locks.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
I'll keep those comments to myself.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
All right, so you're on Broadway.
Last night, sam Cat, and youdidn't get any chairs thrown at
you.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
Let me hold him.
No, oh my God, oh my god, absolutely nothing is going to
change in Morgan Wallen's life.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
No, besides more downloads.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
He gets arrested for throwing a chair Off a six story
building.
Six stories, you guys?
I don't know, throwing a chairoff a one story building Could
kill someone.
Six stories, that's a lot ofvelocity.
I'm not a scientist, but Iunderstand how Inertia works.
Yeah, nothing will change.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
He's on a stadium tour right now and everybody
will still buy his tickets andhe will still get paid millions
of dollars and his fan leavingnasty comments on the internet
doesn't bother him but to throwa chair off of six stories onto
broadway where there arethousands of people at all times
, like n.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
Nashville is not a nine to five.
Oh, it's calm.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
No, at all times, at all times, every day.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
Sunday through Sunday , 24 seven.
There are people drunk onBroadway walking.
Also, chiefs is right onBroadway.
It's not like off at all.
It's second in or, yeah, secondin Broadway, a very popular
corner across from the infamousKid Rocks that he's also gotten
arrested at.
Yeah, maybe it's just thatcorner.
There's something in the airthere that makes him act a fool.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
I think he likes it.
I think he wants to be the badguy in country music and
everybody loves country needs anoutlaw.
He's going to get his millions.
He's going to get his downloads.
He's going to get his crazyfans that are like yeah, I don't
think that he likes it.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
I think that's just who he is.
I don't think this is an act.
I think that's just like who heis.
He's just famous.
I think that he's just this bigof an idiot.
He just has more money than usand sings bangers, but I would
think that he just doesn't care, even less than he did before
now.
Yeah because no one's gonna tellhim no, yeah, he's surrounded

(13:25):
by yes men always, and I feellike you know goes to show.
Don't surround yourself withyes men, because, yeah, I do
feel like the more.
Uh, yeah, locks has somethingto say.
Locks tell us are you gonnathrow a chair off broadway or
off broadway, off a building andon broadway?
No, he's not.
He's gonna be a perfect angelalways, always, just like his

(13:46):
dad all right bottle time.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
Here we go, you hungry buddy.
Yeah, I don't know, that's uh awild well, I saw, we'll just
put that anywhere.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
Um, I oh, oh remember when I said I told him right
here I saw that his court datewas confirmed for, like, let's
say, may 3rd or something, butit is the day of his Nashville
stadium show.
So he's got to go to court inthe morning and then perform at
Nissan at night, which will befine.

(14:21):
Again, nothing's going tochange for him.
He's not going to change hisbehavior.
This is a slap on the wrist Himpaying whatever.
What's it called Bond Bail?

Speaker 2 (14:31):
Yeah, 15,000.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
Yeah that's a farting hurricane for him when it comes
to money, yeah, he's probablydrunk on Broadway right now.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
Probably.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
Booth, you're a mess.
I am a mess right now You're amess.
Your phone's ringing, themicrophone's falling.
You drop the passy, the kid'skind of eating thank you,
appreciate that all right.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
Well, morgan vaughn, he's an idiot.
Moving on, and you?

Speaker 3 (14:55):
know he's still going to be successful.
He is an idiot, but I'm surehe'd say the same thing about
himself yeah exactly, I'm stillgoing to listen to his music and
I'd probably still go to hisconcert and rock out, so yeah,
unbothered speaking of rockingrocking out his BFF Hardy so I
went to Tortuga this pastweekend.
I have never been to a Hardyconcert.
I take that back.
I have been to a Hardy concertin like 2018, when he was

(15:18):
opening for Morgan, when theywere nobodies and Morgan didn't
wear sleeves.
Remember when he went throughthat like plaid cut off.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
Right.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
So I have not seen people know who Hardy is is
basically what I'm saying.
It was electric.
I have never heard a loudercrowd.
It was insane.
I mean, granted, I have neverseen a drunker crowd either, but
he started singing wonder wall, you know, like saying maybe,
and he said three words.

(15:45):
The remainder was the crowd.
I was like, okay, I mean, andhe said three words, the
remainder was the crowd.
I was like, okay, I mean, Idon't know.
I feel like you've dabbled inthis because you've been on TV
and people have cared thatyou're alive, but can you
imagine that many people showingup for you, yeah, for him.
Yeah, only like.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
Well, he's been, yeah , he's been blowing up that
whole crew.
I was going to say ErnestMorgan and blowing up that whole
crew.
I was earnest morgan and hardylaney.
Jelly roll that lane is likedoing really well.
Yeah for them yeah, they'redoing good.
They got a nice little groupthere.
Uh, they continue to kill it.
They've all done their ownthing.
Yeah, hardy's good.
I just laugh because every timeI think of hardy, I think of
how I sprained his ankle in thecelebrity softball game and so

(16:24):
every time we see each otherhe's just like you motherfucker.
So because we played againsteach other like three years in a
row now and I'm always goingagainst him and earnest and
earnest is always pitching andhardy's always catching, so we
always just talk shit.
And then it was an intense game.
They were sliding, we'resliding, and then I was running
home like sprinting around thebases and all I see is chuck

(16:45):
wicks behind.
Uh, hardy yelling, slide, slide, slide.
He's jumping up and down.
So I slid and tries to get inthe way and then I hit his ankle
and then the next day he was ina walking boot and he messaged
me he's like I'm getting an mriright now.
I was like how's your?
I was like sending him as I'mlike use your ankle, finds like
I'm at the hospital getting anmri.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
Because you broke his ankle.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
He didn't break it but so he had a walking boot.
And then a buddy of mine said Ijust saw Hardy at the airport
in a walking boot.
He's going on his bachelorparty Walking boot Because I
slid into him.

Speaker 3 (17:20):
And that is just a little slice of Nashville.
That's what it's like that'sthe most Nashville story I've
ever heard.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
Yeah, and now he's selling out Tortuga.
Yeah, and then I saw him at agun shop like shortly after.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
He's good people.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
Yeah, I like Hardy.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
Also, why were you hanging out at a gun shop?

Speaker 2 (17:37):
I was getting a gun.

Speaker 3 (17:38):
And Hardy was there Also, the most Nashville thing
I've ever heard.
Yeah, he's like hey man justgetting another one.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
I know that's why people are probably like
Nashville is kind of crazy.
I'm like, yeah, it kind of is.
You just walk in a gun shop andthen I'm just like what's up
party.

Speaker 3 (17:52):
I don't think that this town is for germs.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
What's a?

Speaker 3 (17:57):
germ.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
What's a germ?

Speaker 3 (17:59):
A germ is someone who is like super cringy fan like
way too much.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
Oh yeah, for sure.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
No fan like way too much.
Yeah, you can't like.
You got to be chill becausethey're just walking amongst us.
They're at gun shops yeah, they're at the local softball
game that you're going to breaktheir ankle at.
They're everywhere, yeah, um,but they uh also throw chairs
off the roof and broadway, don't?

Speaker 2 (18:18):
they are just like us .
I have.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
I have been very inebriated and I've never even
thought about throwing a chairoff a roof I've you know, I
thought about sliding intosomeone's ankle.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
Yeah, I was on Broadway this was actually after
Justin Bieber concert and I waswith my ex Caitlin and we were
drinking a lot and hergrandfather had just passed away
and she was upset and she wascrying and then she got like
real drunk and was pretty sloppyand we're on the rooftop.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
Is this when people took pictures of her in the
bathroom.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Yeah, and so she was like crying and people wanted to
stop taking videos and photosof me and her and we probably
should have obviously just left.
We did, but she was getting somad she went to the bathroom
bathroom stall and then a girlwas going underneath the
bathroom stall with her phonetaking videos, yeah, and so she
came out all fired up.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
Go home.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
And so I, I and they wouldn't stop, and I grabbed the
girl's phone.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
And I as you showed for a second I thought about
throwing it off the roof.
I swear it went through my headand I was right on the edge and
I almost and I was and Istopped and I gave back to her
and I was like, oh boy, thatwasn't good and I felt terrible,
but in the moment it was closeit was close but you know what?

Speaker 3 (19:37):
you could probably kill someone throwing a cell
phone off the roof.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
I know, I thought that I woke up and I was like
that would have been so bad andlike they sent in a bunch of
like you know they were talkingto tabloids- and all this.
And then they called people andso when we came out downstairs
they had all these like kidscoming out.
It was a disaster and I feltreally bad the next morning
because I was like man, that wasour fault for putting ourselves

(19:59):
in that situation, Drinkingthat much while you're emotional
and yeah.
Well, alcohol just makeseverything, everything worse,
like that girl probably was likeoh, I probably should have been
doing that of course.

Speaker 3 (20:12):
Well, I hope I don't know.
Some people have no shame.
Yeah, I do have to say like Ikind of applaud the delusion
that some fans have.
Like I mean, obviously olddominion has a different crowd
than Hardy or Morgan or anybodywho's like young, hip and hot.
Old Dominion is like anestablished older crowd.

(20:34):
Yeah, and they're still insane.
And I love them dearly.
Don't get me wrong, but likesometimes when I see people who
have no shame in their game, I'mkind of envious of that, like
just complete delusion in theirgame.
I'm kind of um, envious of that, like just complete delusion.
Have no idea how uncomfortablethe situation is, just like so
unaware.
It kind of gets them far, though.
So maybe we should try.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
Yeah, you know, a different type of fan group are
the fans that go to the mastersand the PGA tour fans.
And uh, that's where I wasyesterday Went to the masters,
and if you don't know golf ordon't follow golf, the Masters
is like the Super Bowl.
It's the biggest tournament inthe world for golf.
It is literally they call it atradition like no other.

(21:16):
There's so much history there.
It's in Augusta, georgia.
It's really hard to get tickets, really hard to get tickets,
and my good buddy, dusty, got ustickets for the practice round,
and so it is like you enter awhole new world.
When you go there, you can'thave your phone.
You got to leave your phones inthe car, which is awesome,
right, so you aren't allowed totake phones on the course.

(21:44):
They have the same sandwichesthat they've had for like 30, 40
, 50 years and it's all the sameprice, Same price.
So $3 for a sandwich, a coupleof dollars for water and it's
just like homemade, like whitebread.
Throw some cheese on there ormeat Um, it's just the most
beautiful course ever.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
Are you a good golfer ?

Speaker 2 (22:03):
Yeah, I can be.
I've been golf since I've beenfour years old.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
That doesn't mean you're good.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
No, okay, I'm asking you actually.
Yeah, golf is a game.
It's the hardest sport outthere, I believe, and it is the
one sport where you can only begood if you're playing all the
time.
You have to play all the timeto be good.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
I can see that it is so hard.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
I could go out there and shoot really, really good,
and then the next day I couldjust suck it up because I have
no consistency.
The best I was when I was inhigh school, playing on my high
school team.
We have to play every singleday, so it's a, it's a, it's an
awesome game and it's somethingthat I want to get him to do.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
What was the highlight?
What was the highlight of themasters then?

Speaker 2 (22:45):
The first person we saw out there.
So you just walk out to thecourse and the pros kind of go
off on their own.
They practice, they're playingthe hole with their buddies.
They'll drop multiple shots.
So it's not like they'rekeeping score, you know.
If they like miss, hit it,they'll just drop another one
and we're like all right, wedon't know where any of the guys
are.
We walk out and the firstperson we see we're like all

(23:07):
right, we don't know where anyof the guys are.

Speaker 3 (23:09):
We walk out and the first person we see we're like
is that Tiger?
No way yeah.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
I know that one.

Speaker 3 (23:11):
Yeah, we're just following Tiger Woods like from
me to you Coming out speakinglike Tiger Woods wife yeah, name
that song and that's likeludicrous.
Wow, I'm Tiger.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
Woods is the best golfer of all time, one of the
most famous people in the world.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
And just a legend.
And just watching him, he willbe the greatest golfer ever to
live in our lifetime.
And just watching him, golf wasinsane.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
I was right now years old when I realized that Tyler
who is Tyler?
We don't know him.
Tiger is still playing.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
I thought he retired.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
No, no, okay.
So dumb question and I'm justgonna put out there how did you
go to the masters on a mondaywhen I was hanging out with your
child, and I'm going to themasters this weekend I know, and
it still exists, were your likepractice rounds or what's going
on like how long is this?

Speaker 2 (24:02):
so monday um was yesterday monday, no tuesday, so
so Tuesday was a practice round.
Okay, they get to practicewhenever they want.

Speaker 3 (24:11):
You were there on Monday, though that's a practice
round as well.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
Monday we drove down to Georgia, like an hour and a
half away from Augusta, stayedin a hotel, I watched the Yukon
Huskies kill Purdue and thenwoke up four hours later, and
then we drove another hour and ahalf two hours to snuggle we
had separate hotel rooms oh yeah, so weird like that.
So we drove an extra couplehours in the morning, got up

(24:35):
around 4 30 and then we werethere all day for their practice
rounds.
Like I said, you can gowherever you want on the course.
It's kind of almost better thanthe masters because there's not
as many people.
You have more access to theplayers.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
You get to see them messing around yeah, did you get
to talk to anybody, or is itjust no, they're all like roped
in like you.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
Still, they have the spectator zones and all that,
but they'll also.
There's a tradition where theyum have a little pond right
there and everybody sits aroundthis pond, this part three, and
everybody yells like skip it,skip it.
It's so ridiculous.
And then the golfers will walkup after they hit their t-shot,

(25:15):
they'll drop a ball.
And there's this, thegrandstands right there, and
they try to skip the golf ballall the way across the pond to
get it on the green, likeskipping a rock, and the crowd
just goes crazy.
It's just like a traditionthey've been doing for years.
Boys will be boys.
Yeah, it's funny, it's like thethings that get guys excited.
Yes, so today, I believe, is apar three contest and then

(25:38):
tomorrow, thursday, friday, saturday, sunday, are the four
rounds for the tournament.
And another thing with theMasters, what?

Speaker 3 (25:44):
does a round mean Like all 18 holes okay?

Speaker 2 (25:47):
yeah, so you got four rounds.
Round one and two are thursdayand friday.
If you make the cut, which islike the top, I don't know uh, I
think they split it in half, Ibelieve is it an average of your
scores or something?

Speaker 3 (26:03):
you add your scores up right, yeah, it's not an an
average, it's not an average.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
You add.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
Oh, add.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
So you're going to have 18 holes plus 18 holes,
right?

Speaker 3 (26:11):
Top 50.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
The top 50 players in ties if you're tied 50.
How?

Speaker 3 (26:14):
many people are in this thing.
There's a lot this thing listento me like it's not the biggest
golf tournament in the nine Top50 after the first two days,
and that's the big thing.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
Making it to the weekend, you want to make it to
the weekend of the Masters andthen.
So Thursday and Friday you playwith two other people, so it's
groups of three.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
Do you think you can make top 50?
Absolutely not, Sam Cat this isthe greatest golf tournament in
the world.
Listen, you said you were agood golfer yeah, not that good.

Speaker 2 (26:45):
I was talking to Dusty.
I'm like what would you shootat this course?
And Dusty's better than I amWay better and he will shoot.
You know he could shoot 70s ona course around here, 80 around
here.
He's smiling and laughing at me.
He said he'd shoot like 100 outthere.
It's crazy.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
It's so hard yeah 100 is bad.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
Okay, so I would get 100.
Yeah, these guys will shoot 70.
These guys will shoot even parunder par.
Tiger Woods search Tiger.

Speaker 3 (27:16):
Woods best round at the Masters.
Why is the Masters such a bigdeal?

Speaker 2 (27:19):
Because it's all about tradition.
They've kept everything thesame.
You win a green jacket if youwin.

Speaker 3 (27:25):
Oh my God, like Shooter McGavin.

Speaker 2 (27:28):
Yeah, exactly yeah, and it's like the most
prestigious event, like you wantto.
You can only once you win theMasters.
You get invited back every year.

Speaker 3 (27:37):
Until you don't win yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
And it's the most watched one.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
Wait, wait, wait, why 1996.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
So Tiger shot a 66, a 65, a 69.

Speaker 3 (27:48):
Still the record to this day.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
His final 54 holes.
Yeah, he was 21 years old.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
Jordan Spieth.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
I know him.
He's from Texas.

Speaker 2 (27:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
He went to high school with my cousin.

Speaker 2 (27:59):
So that is like if you have a good round at the
Masters, it will-.

Speaker 3 (28:03):
Set you up for life.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
Set you up for life.
It will change your career.
It will change your career.
It will change yoursponsorships.

Speaker 3 (28:08):
The real question is how much money did he win when
he like?
Do you win money at the masters?

Speaker 2 (28:14):
or not.
Yeah, of course you win.
You probably want a couplemillion, but it's more than the
money.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
No, no, I do understand, like the uh, almost
gentleman's agreement.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
Oh, 3.24 million prize money for a round of golf
yeah, good for him not as muchas the live tour, but uh, it's,
it's wild, it is so cool and,yeah, I think it's just a
tradition so if you get topthree, that's 744 000.

Speaker 3 (28:43):
Like, yeah, you could just do top three and be set
for google.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
Uh, zalatoris this kid was.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
Let's see how google the hardest name I've ever said
out loud yeah look at this kidDude's.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
Alatorre's best major finish.
He is 12 years old, he looks.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
Wait, wait, wait.
Is he in the Masters?

Speaker 2 (29:02):
Yeah, we were following him around a little
bit.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
He looks like a golfer.
He went viral because they werecomparing him to His dad is the
CEO.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
They're comparing him to Happy Gilmore's caddy the
blonde kid.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
Oh my gosh, Maybe that's why he looks familiar,
the subway guy.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
No, no, no, the little blonde kid.
So anyways, will Zalatouris.
He came on the tour a coupleyears ago he's 27 now and Tiger
won what three, four years ago.
He came out of nowhere and hewas like 20 young 20s and nobody

(29:37):
knew him and he was in like thefinal pairing on the last day
of sunday and it's just changedhis life.
Obviously he made a ton ofmoney and now he's playing
really well.
Everybody knows him, so it'sit's people like that that will
break through are you looking, looking for an upset?

Speaker 3 (29:53):
finish here Like are you?

Speaker 2 (29:54):
you want this kid to win Um it would be awesome, but,
uh, I'm going to bet on it.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
Oh, so no.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
I love betting on the masters.
I'll pick a couple of people, the two guys that I want to win
it.
I'm going to bet on BrooksKoepka.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
Okay, want to win it.

Speaker 2 (30:16):
I'm gonna bet on brooks kepka okay, he's got
great odds, he is.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
You're gonna say he's got great eyes.
Great eyes too.
I'm like oh, is he a hottie?
What's going on?
He's a stud, okay he just had ababy.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
He's kind of uh, people love him or hate him.
Okay he is, he's got that.
Um, he's got that dog in him,sam cat I do love that brooks
kepka's got the dog in him.
He kind of doesn't give a shit.
He doesn't like hold back hisinterviews are pretty hilarious.
People think he's kind of anasshole, but he's just straight
up and he's real.
Um, he's a strong dude.

(30:43):
He's got five or six majorsalready and he hasn't won the
masters yet okay he went to thelive tour.
I'm not going to get into thelive tour with you what is a?

Speaker 3 (30:50):
a live tour, so Taylor Swift we'll go real quick
on this.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
The live tour there's only been like professional
golf has been the PGA tour sinceforever.
Right, the best players in theworld go there.

Speaker 3 (31:02):
PGA baby.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
Yeah, and that's what your goal is.
It's very again.
Traditional golf is like youknow a white man's wet dream.
Yeah, there you go, then the.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
Live Tour came out.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
The Live Tour tried to shake things up, and they are
backed by a Saudi Arabiacompany that has billions of
dollars.
So they came and they startedtaking.
They're like we're going tocreate our own league.
It's going to be more fun, it'sgoing to be for the younger
crowd, it's going to be moreelectric, you're going to play
in teams and, as opposed to thisold game that we've been

(31:38):
playing for years, we're goingto spice it up a little bit.
And not only that we're goingto take the best players from pj
tour and we're going to paythem a hundred times more than
any of you guys.
Wow.
So these guys at the live tourbold move they're making
millions of dollars per event.
they they're not even winning,so they're like.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
Wait, can I be drafted by the Liv Tour?

Speaker 2 (31:54):
So then it was a huge , huge fight, and some players
around the PGA Tour they're likeF the Liv Tour.

Speaker 3 (32:02):
I like that you've censored yourself.
Yeah, because your kid's here.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
Exactly.
And then the guys that went toLiv Tour.
They ended up getting the bestgolfers in the world for the
most part.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:11):
They were just like offering like we're going to
give you hundreds of millions ofdollars If you come live tour
can live tour, participate inthe masters.
Yeah, so this is why um BrooksKoepka is going to be competing
in the masters.
He's not on, he's on the livetour.
So he doesn't compete for therest of the year unless he's in
the majors.
So there, the Live Tour offeredTiger Woods a billion dollars

(32:32):
to come play there.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
One with a B.
Yeah, a, b, it was like 800,900 million Wait come to play
there, but they're still playingat the Masters.
So they're playing at the sameplace that the PGA is happening.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
Yeah, but they're not playing every week, the PGA
Tour has a season where they goaround the country and they play
at different cities and theyhave four major events.

Speaker 3 (32:48):
Pebble Beach.
I've heard of that one.

Speaker 1 (32:49):
Yeah, it also originally looked like they
weren't going to be able to doboth right.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
Right, so they weren't.

Speaker 1 (32:54):
It looked like it was going to be exclusive, like if
you go to live, you go to liveand you can't do PGA too.
And then PGA realized they losteverybody, so they were like
you can.

Speaker 2 (33:01):
Yeah, so they lost their biggest, youngest, best
golfers to the live tour.
I love this golfing tea, BrooksKoepka, DJ Dustin Johnson, who
went to Lift Tour.
Google how much Dustin Johnsonand Brooks Koepka made for Lift
Tour.

Speaker 3 (33:18):
Well, I'm all in on Brooks, number one.
That's like my favorite Wait.
Remember when we did notdiscuss this.
I feel like this is the firsttime we've talked about it since
, but 25 years ago when Dre waspregnant in here and we talked
about what boys' names you likedand you said Brooks.
We had never spoken about that.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
I know Brooks is, like my number one, way too
popular.

Speaker 3 (33:37):
Oh, okay, wow hater, how much did they pay him?

Speaker 1 (33:39):
So, this is Dustin got $35 million.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
No, they paid him more than that to go.
That's how much he's made,right.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
What does live stand for Brooks?

Speaker 2 (33:47):
got $100 million.
Brooks got Brooke's got ahundred million as a signing
bonus for joining.
Now you just saw the masters,so the masters they're winner.
No, he's got a wife and he'shad a baby.

Speaker 3 (34:01):
Oh, good for him, good for her.
Great job, guys.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
I'm proud of them so you're talking about the masters
, the greatest event in the PJtour, and they make a million if
they win.
So he got a hundred milliondollars just to show up, and so
people are trashing him.

Speaker 3 (34:17):
They hate him because he left and it's like everybody
calls him a sellout.

Speaker 2 (34:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
No, you know who calls him a sellout Dusty old
white men that are comfortablein their life.
It's like how dare you push theboundaries?
Go for it, brooks.
You got a family to provide for.

Speaker 2 (34:30):
So that's showing Dustin Johnson.
He's reportedly guaranteed 150million.

Speaker 1 (34:34):
Yeah, the 35 was.
You're right.
It was just what he's made sofar.
On bonuses yeah, His guaranteeis reportedly upwards of 150
million.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
Yeah, I cannot even fathom that much money.
Yeah, it's raining in mybedroom right now.
Yeah, and these guys weregetting lit up.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
These guys were getting lit up for leaving, and
now you got guys on the PGA, whoare like.
I'm never going to go Like RoryMcIlroy, who is like a
traditionalist yeah, yeah andhe's played the game since a
young kid.
He was very critical of allthese guys that left.
So there's some beef, there's alot of beef and, like PGA Tour

(35:09):
was basically probably going tostart going downhill pretty bad.

Speaker 3 (35:16):
Oh, really, and they were yeah.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
And a lot of it is also backed by Saudi Arabia
money, and that was the mainthing.
So, and there had there waslike correlation to terrorism
from these guys, and so now yougot people being like you're
getting paid by the terrorists,by the same people who like-
Wait, has this been confirmed orit's just like speculation?

(35:40):
We can't confirm it.

Speaker 3 (35:41):
It's just, but we kind of can yeah, oh interesting
.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
Kind of right Like-.
Yeah, it's kind of like a grayarea, but it's kind of like oh,
where there's smoke, there'sfire, yeah.

Speaker 3 (35:52):
Okay, so maybe I don't support it.

Speaker 2 (35:54):
I spoke too soon, but it's like, yeah, I mean money
talks, right Of course.
And then all this is going onand the PGA Tour guy I think the
president of the PGA Tour cameout and made a statement like
that and literally made astatement about how these
families and people who havedead relatives from 9-11, you

(36:15):
guys are supporting them fromthe live tour.
They're getting paid by thosepeople, right?
So this is what the PGA tourguy came out and said what a
bold statement.
And then months later-.

Speaker 3 (36:25):
Took money from them.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
He teamed up with them.
Yeah, Classic.
Yeah and said oh hey, we got agreat deal.
Liv and PGA are going to teamup because that's because you
had no other choice.

Speaker 3 (36:34):
What's your price?
What's your price?
Yeah, everybody has a price, Iknow.

Speaker 2 (36:37):
At first I was like I wouldn't go to Liv Tour I'm
very tradition.
But then I'm like these guysare the best in the world.
You can only play for so long.
You can get an injury, you canget set up generational wealth
and you can still compete in themajors.

Speaker 3 (36:56):
150 million dollars that is generational wealth that
will change his children's lifeand his children's children.

Speaker 2 (37:01):
Yeah yeah, so I'm going for brooks kepka and
number two, xander shawfly.
Xander shawfly is uh, stud, heis number one, the major master,
or no?

Speaker 3 (37:16):
Are you sure that name is not Xander?

Speaker 2 (37:18):
Xander, xander Shoffley.

Speaker 3 (37:20):
You said Xander.
Is that right?
I don't know.
I don't know him.
I've never met him, I've neverheard of him.
But I do have two people toroot for.
Now I'll be on your team.

Speaker 2 (37:28):
Xander Shoffley and Brooks Koepka.

Speaker 3 (37:30):
I'm going to be way out of my league this weekend,
but I will wear a very cutedress and clap politely, so I
think that'll fit in.

Speaker 2 (37:36):
Tell Brooks.
I said what's up?

Speaker 3 (37:39):
Oh, I will, I'm just kidding.

Speaker 2 (37:41):
It's funny though, because I was talking about with
Dusty yesterday, looking atsome of the guys.
We have these big dudes likeBrooks and DJ.

Speaker 3 (37:48):
What does big dudes mean?
They're taller, they're likejust big dudes.
Yeah, like tall, like theycould be offensive linemen not
that, yeah, just calm down overthere, calm down, god, yeah, uh.

Speaker 2 (37:59):
And then you got little guys like xander shawfly,
uh, jordan speith, uh rory'skind of he's a middle range guy
who are just out there just likefinesse, and just they, they
all drive the ball a ton, but Ijust like that brooks, like this
big, strong athletic dude whois he happy?
No, okay, pull up a picture ofbrooks for sam no, no, I'm just

(38:22):
saying.

Speaker 3 (38:22):
I'm just saying like, is his demeanor like happy
gilmore?

Speaker 2 (38:25):
like happy gilmore did not no, not like that, like
he is uh, he's the outlier.
He just doesn't give a yeah, Ithink he fed into like more
people hating on him um oh, hey, brooks oh so one of the funny
things is too like he was.

(38:46):
He gets pissed off.
And there's this one guy on thetour and last year he came out.
He's like I can't play behindthat guy.
He takes forever he and he wasmaking fun of him.
He's like why can't we just goup there and hit the ball?
You know like the guy standswith a ball and he waggles a
bunch and it's incrediblyannoying.
You have to sit there and waitand wait, and wait and wait.
And so Brooks called him outand made a comment about it.

(39:07):
Guess who they paired Brookswith on the first round?
Yep, yeah, so he's playing withhim tomorrow.
So that's also like the Mastersdoing a complete troll job,
being like the PGA Tour.
We don't like you.
Guess who you're playing with.

Speaker 3 (39:20):
You know what I respect that, though.
That's a power move.

Speaker 2 (39:23):
By the Masters.

Speaker 3 (39:24):
Yes, 100%.

Speaker 2 (39:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (39:26):
You're going to go in public and complain about
something.
Let me show you what I can do.
Yeah, I respect it.
I mean, I don't say that Isupport it, but I respect it.
I get it.

Speaker 2 (39:34):
Yeah, if you're making $150 million.

Speaker 3 (39:36):
you can just like do whatever I say Right.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
And also Brooks.
Last year he led the Mastersfor Thursday, friday, saturday
at a two-shot lead going intoSunday and he blew it and he's
been so upset he has theredemption chip yeah.
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (39:49):
Well, I can't wait to watch it unfold.
Yeah, from my tour bus, that'swhat we're going to do.

Speaker 2 (39:53):
We're going to watch it unfold.
You guys hopefully, watch alongwith us at home.
Samcat, you need to get thehell out of here and get some
rest.

Speaker 3 (40:00):
Guys, I have to say I think I did pretty good.

Speaker 2 (40:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (40:06):
Not bad If you guys felt the way I felt right now.
I don't ever play Lox'sfavorite song.

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
