Hey, folks. Today we were joined by a young phenom in the analytics world, Nick Iacoban from Watch the Stats. He is really plugged in to all things prospects and his model is an extremely useful tool for all things NHL draft related. Nick helped us break down the Flames performance at the draft this year and how they managed to extract a ton of value out of their selections.
Hope you enjoy.

The draft is just days away folks. Can the Flames move up? Will they trade Rasmus Andersson over the weekend? Is Connor Mcdavid going to cry all summer, ooops I mean, who are the Flames going to target with their first round picks?
We'll see what Conny is cooking up.

The nightmare continues as the greaseballs somehow blitzed the Panthers again to win in OT. We're still lamenting this never ending night mare. But the big Flames news of the week is that rookie sensation Dustin Wolf finished second in Calder Trophy voting. The league is officially on notice: Wolf is here to save the Flames.
Have a good week, buddies.
Go Panthers.
Hey, fellas. Flamesnation OG and all around great guy Kent Wilson jumped on with us today to discuss where the Flames are at, where they're going, and what pitfalls they need to avoid heading through this cycle of team building. We talk about 'culture', why the cohort method of team building is important, and why there is no 'Dallas model'.

Hey, buddies. Our palls over at Daily Faceoff were speculating Conny and the Flames may be looking to go big in the UFA market this off-season. While this is unlikely, since we have nothing better do while we're relegated to benchwarming the Panthers and Oilers, we thought we'd talk about the idea of adding in free agency and our preferences for Flames moves this summer.
Have a good one, boys. Keep your chin up and let's go Pant...
Ugh. Once again the Greasers seem destined for the finals. Meanwhile we're just sitting on the sideline. Today we're begrudgingly talking about the Oilers domination of the Stars and hoping the Panthers have an answer (again).
We're also hoping the Oilers success lights a fire under the Flames organization to start getting serious about producing a Cup contending club and discussing how close / far the Flames are to being a con...
Hey, fellas. Today we're looking back at the mini doc 'The Chase' the Flames crew filmed over the course of the year. It's interesting to see the ask laid out from day one from Conny, to the coaching staff, to the leadership group, and how it translated to on ice results in retrospect. Conny and Huska challegned the boys to be the hardest working team in the league this year and leave it all on the ice...and the message was well re...
Hey, boys. Craig Conroy started the offseason with a bang by locking in Matt Coronato to a seven year contract extension. We're breaking down the deal and what it means for the other RFA's on the team. Additionally, a little season review as we grade every player and the coach + manager based off performance this year.
And, of course, we had to discuss some awful news as it seems the Coilers are going to make a run of it. Ugh.
...Well folks we needed a few days of rest but we're back to try and make sense of the season and break down garbage day. Lots to break down from Craig Conroy, Ryan Huska, and Rasmus Andersson (not Jonathan Huberedeau tho).
Plus we had some fun to poke at the Coilers - but of course the Kings choked last night after this was recorded to make us look like idiots. Get your s**t together, LA!

The Flames capped off a huge week with a win over SJ on home ice. The 3-0-1 stretch has the Flames in a Schrödinger's cat playoff hunt right until the bitter end.
Also, WE WANT ZAYNE.

The Flames are barely hanging on to their playoff hopes but boys seem hell bent on battling to the very end. They are on life support right now…but hey, nobody expected them to be here in the first place.

Despite playing some of their best hockey of the season this week, the Flames find themselves losing ground by the minute in the race for the final playoff spot.
We’re breaking down a tough week that saw the Flames get hosed against Dallas and blow a 3rd period lead against the Greaseballs in Edmonton.

Man, this team just won't die. Right when we think they are done for, the Calgary Flames show up and put together a massive three game sweep of New York State. Jonathan Huberdeau is feeling it, Matt Coronato is a gangster, and Nazem Kadri is clutch as ever.
We're breaking down the ups and downs of the last week of Flames hockey.

Despite Dustin Wolf's best efforts the Flames blew the biggest game on the year against the Vancouver Canucks and followed it up by getting spanked at home by the Colorado Avalanche.
While they still remain right in the middle of the race it looks like it might soon be curtains for the boys in red.

Hey, buddies. Today we are breaking down the Flames non-eventful trade deadline and looking towards the final push for a playoff spot (or a top 10 pick!)

Alright boys, despite and encouraging start to the roady, the Flames got their lunch fed to them by Tampa, Florida, and Carolina. Despite this they still somehow find themselves in the last wild card spot. We're breaking down the gauntlet run so far, looking ahead to the trade deadline, and swooning over Zayne Parekh as he continues his historic season in the OHL.

Alright boys, we're back and we're recapping the ups and downs of a crazy 4 Nations Cup. While it's tough to see Mcneckbeard have any success there was still some unbelievable hockey, some unreal story lines, and lots to love about the NHL's new tournament.
Going back to Flames hockey was pretty tough, even with Dustin Wolf in the pipes, but nevertheless we're breaking down the win against San Jose and looking ahead to the gaun...
