The term Relax, Release, and Relate comes from an episode of the Cosby Show (TV sitcom from the 1990's). Debbie Allen's character regularly recited it in her effort to combat stress or fear. One writer said that these three words relate the emotional tug-of-war in our faith walk.
God asks us to move; we stay put; God asks us to stay put; we move.
God gives us a gift, calling or responsibility and we insist that we're not ready. “Imagine the results we could experience if we would rest in the Heavenly Father's arms and release our needs, burdens, fears and desires to Him, instead of routinely releasing them in prayer while continuing to clutch them.”
What I mean by these three words is a message for you to...Let go of the pain and baggage of failed relationships. Let Go of the Pain of mistakes. Let go of the demands that people place on you. Taking on the enemy and his attempts to destroy you. Taking on the way of the Cross and challenging the world to live by it. Taking up for the poor, the oppressed and the down trodden. Move forward in your calling. Move forward in the blessing God has for your family. Move forward in the Power and Authority that God has placed on you, in you and around you...Relax, Release and Relate! No matter what situation comes your way, that situation cannot stop what God has called you to do; Your destiny cannot be altered.
