Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the In This League Fantasy Podcast network, In
This League Fantasy Baseball podcast online at in This League
dot com. Now here's your host Bogman and the Welsh
What is up?
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Friend? As a welcome in, It's the In This League
Fantasy Baseball Podcast, the final April episode, one month in
the books for the baseball season. I'm Chris Welsh. That
is Scott Bogman. Today we're talking about some of the
latest news, injuries, who was hot the last week with
some breakdowns, and we will end it with some streaming
(00:38):
pitchers we can look at for the next couple days
in some transaction trends. A little Tuesday episode a little
bit different. Long weekend and Bogman, I had to go
out and see the boys. I had to go and
spend some time. So we had to do a day
late because I had to spend some time with my
dear friend Katel Marte and my great friend Jackson Merrill,
(01:01):
who are rehabbing out here in Arizona. Just spending time
with the boys.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
Yeah, yeah, just I had to take a day off
for the boys.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
I see.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
Definitely wasn't because you were at dance stuff all weekend
for your kids. Yeah, I know that I almost got
in trouble.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
So, like I knew that Kittel was potentially going to
be out there at a game. So I met this
dance competition all weekend with my kids, which, by the way,
shout out. My daughter won a full scholarship. She beat
everybody in her age group, which was awesome. My son
killed it as well. They just killed it. They had
did a great weekend and the full scholarship. My daughter
(01:37):
didn't understand it. She's like, so what does that mean.
I was like, you won that for us, honey, like you,
but you one was so we don't have to pay
as much and that's the great thing. But they were
also it was a convention, so they were taking these
classes and there were some closed off things that were happening,
and it just so happened to line up with Saturday
(01:58):
when Katel was going to potentially be in a game.
We had heard. So I'm like, listen, let me escape
because we're in Scotts so I'm literally six minutes away
from Salt River Fields. I'm like, right, dearest wife, let
me escape for a little bit. It could be a
little bit. So also, don't angrily call me if it's
(02:19):
not the time that I say it is. Bogman knows
timing can be issues. So I was able to escape
and go down and funny enough the first homer, so
he gets out there by the way or no, that
was you know, that was the same day. I'd never
seen anything like it. Kutell rolled out in the third inning,
(02:40):
like he didn't start the game. I saw him he
drives a scooter around Salt River Fields right before the
game started. He wrote a scooter in and then he
didn't come out, and I'm like, oh my god, he's
not gonna play. What I did get to see, by
the way, was Kendall Graveman pitch had a really good ending.
Aj pupp came out and watched him. Said he's, you know,
getting healthy. And Adrian del Castillo told me a month away,
(03:00):
he'll be back in a month. Okay, So I talked
to him and then I'm like, Ohktel's just not going
to come out. Third inning, just rolls out, gets in
the game DH's and then at this point my wife
is like, when are you coming back? And I'm like, listen,
stop calling me, let me do the thing and I'll
be back shortly. It's not interfere or anything. Then she
calls a little bit later because it's taking long. While
(03:22):
she's on. While I'm on the phone with her, Kittel
hits a homer and I'm like, you miss A friend
of mine got the video, gave it to me. Finish out.
He hits another homer, has a great day, and then
we find out that he is going to join the
Diamondbacks on the Phillies trip. He was out yesterday as well,
and I believe there's a chance he could do something today.
(03:44):
And then he's going to roll out, take a flight,
get out, and boom. Spending some time but almost getting
in deep trouble because Katel decided to take a really
long time to get into the game. But I was
able to see him escape for a tiny bit. And
I will tell you about the other guy, of course,
that I spent some time with yesterday, in just a second.
But thank you guys for hanging out with us on IL.
(04:05):
You guys want to check out all the stuff and
things and support the boys, of course you do in
this league dot com. That's our patreon in this league
dot com. Bogman, It's been a crazy weekend of NFL
Draft streaming he's done all his ranks. If you're in
the football world, officially released this morning is the top
five hundred Prospects, Top four hundred Dynasty ranks. Plus we've
(04:26):
got group me rooms, access to streams, all the stuff
in between. Plus you know, you are literally directly supporting
Bogman and I and we see each one of your names,
and we say here at night for each one of you,
So we thank you for doing it in this league
dot com. Support at in this league dot com. So
I'm exhausted from the dance and the baseball, and I
know you're exhausted from the NFL Draft. It was quite
(04:48):
a weekend for you.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
Yeah, that was It's been a long weekend. And then
you know, just trying to hammer out these ranks and
having the base done and then having to move players around,
you know that is So I spent all day Sunday
working on Dynasty ranks. I spent most of my day
Monday when I wasn't recording Dynasty shows for FP. I
(05:10):
recorded three on Monday and out of bounds. Then I
went back to work on my overalls. So I did
my positions. We got the overalls, we got the superflex
in there, and redrafts will be coming probably Friday, somewhere
between Friday to Monday. Not like people are drafting redraft
right now for football, but all that's coming then IDP
(05:33):
and then the Black Book as well. So lots on
the docket, lots of writing. I'm going to be tired
of my inner monologue. I already am tired of.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
I'm so tired of writing. Yeah, I'm one hundred percent
with you. So we're podcasting the people. We're here for
you guys. We appreciate especially all the stuff that you
guys support on the Patreon and just anything, So thank
you guys for doing that. Also, be on the lookout later.
I think it might be beginning of next week. But
the home run Derby episode between Joe, Piece of P
(06:01):
and I if I think, is officially going to come out,
and we've got so I got some great still shots.
I have a still shot of Joe with this bat flip.
There are two bat flip stills, one of me and
one of him that are so good. Uh, and it's
it's it'll just be great. You guys are gonna like
I don't have the videos go in it come out
because we didn't film everything very well, but we'll see,
so that'll be in the near near future.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
All right.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
We got lots of other things to talk about. But
the other piece of news that I found out, so
yesterday I got word and it was publicly put out
there that Jackson Merro was coming to Phoenix. Also Jake
Cronaworth and Brandon Lockridge. Those three guys are going to
come out here, and Rehab didn't know if they were
going to do anything because they just flew out. But
I got word that not only was Lockridge going to
(06:45):
be in the lineup, but Merrill was going to be
in the lineup. So go down to Peoria, one of
my second homes, and find out he's dhing and it's
a little off. It's gonna I've said this on I
did an episode and there's another plug rates some barrels
had me back, got to see DVR and EO episode
should be coming out the Talking Dynasty, telling them something
(07:06):
seems off about Marylyn, and I think I've gotten I
might know what the bottom of it is. He just
seemed very awflah bah blah before the game in workouts
and just whatever, and he like cart I've never seen
a player kart out to a complex game. It's a
six foot walk. Everything was very weird. He goes up
against Trevor Gott who is a thirty two year old pitcher.
(07:29):
Strikes out. Next at bat, first pitch, pop out. He's
just behind. He seems his bat seems kind of slow,
he's not reading pitches super great. Third at bat or no,
I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (07:43):
Third yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
Third at bat was the single. He hits a single
up the middle. It's not clear to run, so he
just turns around and goes and he's batting every inning.
That's how extended can go. You can do whatever the
hell you want. Last a bat, he pops out again,
just bad at bats. Then he he comes out, seems okay.
He kind of leaves and I tweeted it and people
(08:04):
are like, oh my god, he's not running. What do
we doing? Blah blah blah, and it's like he's not
cleared to run. Then I had this realization as I
was kind of poking about him being off. And the
reason I say that is because Jackson merril Is I've
been around him for years, pretty jovial guy, loves baseball.
He's one of those guys. No offense to Katel, you
know me number one could tell guy El Nino. Bogman
(08:27):
knows I'm an El Nino guy, right, But Katel has
a whole crew there, very flashy. I'll just roll into
the third inning. His boys are standing on the side
with coffee cups. He gets out, He waits approximately seven
point two seconds before he is out of the dugout
when he's done and leaving that type of stuff. You know,
(08:49):
he's a big leaguer. Yeah, Jackson Merrill isn't. He loves baseball.
He's like, he'll stay whole games. He comes out to AFL.
He's got a house out here. He comes and watches
AFL's rookie ball like that guy loves baseball. So it
seemed extra off. But my realization Bogs was I think
it might have been more than he just wasn't running,
that he really had to hold back. I think because
(09:11):
something I noticed with Kutel in his rehab was that
like he really was holding back his running because of
the hamstring, And I think something similar was going on
with Merrill, where like because they did these bunting drills
before that not only was he not clear to run,
but I think that also was probably changing maybe how
he was using his legs and just like the limitations
(09:35):
of what they wanted him to do.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
So that's that's actually why even let them out there.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
By the way, if he can't use your legs properly,
why are you even letting these guys do well?
Speaker 2 (09:44):
Because if you want them back soon, you got to
see live pitching. You want to have like that that
live Yeah, okay. I was told that today as we're
recording this, that he was going to get looked at
by like I think officials were going to come out
and take a look at him, and maybe that will
be a clear to like, all right, now you can
run the bases and now you can do this. But
(10:06):
my takeaway is that I think whatever they wanted him
to hold back was just bothering him, and I don't
think he could get to himself because he was oddly
behind on pitches and striking out and he couldn't move
and stuff. So you know, he got a hit. But
just wanted to point out from what I know, Katl
is Friday, he'll be back, and Jackson Merrill I believe
(10:27):
will be Monday of next.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
Week for you guys.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
So that's what the look is currently for these players.
As far as my knowledge goes, but you guys want
to check it out. It's on the Twitter, just hanging
with some of my best friends. Bugs. You know, if
only you were here, if it was you, if it
was you and Joe Kutel and Jackson, we could have
we could have been like a boy band. Jackson five.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
Yeah, the Jackson.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
Yeah, it's four of us, but uh, with our weights combined,
we are the Jackson five.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
So yeah, tons of fun will be the group with
Katel and Jackson Merrill. But those are some of my
exploits out there sharing a bunch of I don't know,
I think it's fun. The Katel thing was great, it
was its instantly become one of my highest viewed videos
for some reason. And there's always those people that are like,
give it a rest, like chill out, man, it's a
good seventeen year olds. And it was like, we didn't
(11:19):
say anything. We just said he just crushed bombs as
he should. And people get excited about, you know, Katel
Marte who's been out for a month or whatever hitting
bombs and they were bombs.
Speaker 4 (11:29):
Yeah, I saw.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
I mean he just like as soon as it touched
the bat, he just put his head down.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Sorry. He the second one, he was almost like, get
me out of here, you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (11:38):
Yeah, but why am I here?
Speaker 2 (11:40):
Why am I here? One hundred percent? But there you go.
Those are some of the exploits around thought you guys
might like to know it, and I will always continuously
share some of those Instagram in Twitter at is it
the wel shift you guys want to follow? How about
Gino about our boy yo Iohannio Suarez who hit four
homers in a night that was why in the competition.
(12:00):
So I didn't even realize it. I think you posted
nineteenth in baseball to hit four homers. Ever, and he's
still hitting under like two twenty.
Speaker 4 (12:08):
Yeah, it was you know, it's funny.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
After his second homer of the night, I went and
looked and it was I think seven homers and five
singles and four doubles. Actually I think it was eight
homers at that point. Then he hit two more, so
it was ten homers, five singles, four doubles. And by
the way, I don't know that he's had a hit
since the four homer night, but it was four homers.
(12:34):
It was crazy to see it was, you know, I
think it was Saturday night. It was right after the
draft had ended. I was had the d Backs on
in the background while I'm, you know, hammering out rankings
and stuff, and I see the third one and I
was like, no way, So I'm posting it grewed me in.
The fourth one was crazy to see and we still
lost that game, which you know, a losing streak knows
(12:58):
no bounds here say that.
Speaker 4 (13:00):
It was super annoying to see us lose.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
But the nineteenth player in Major League Baseball history to
hit four homers in one game, the first guy to
do it since Jad Martinez did it in Dodger Stadium
for the Diamondbacks. So the last two four homer games
are both by Diamondbacks hitters.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Didn't Luis Gonzalez also have a four home run game.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
There's only been nineteen. I'm sure you can look it
up and see the list.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
You know, my computer will explode if I try to.
I'll look.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
But I think the last one before that might have
been Josh Hamilton.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
That's fine, But I think Louis Gonzalez had a four
homer game and I think it was at Chase Field,
And if that would be true, three of the nineteen
being by the Diamondbacks would be amazing. Right now, it's
two of nineteen, which you know, like a little over
twenty percent.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
MLB has a look at all nineteen four homer games.
Speaker 4 (13:51):
Oh it was Scooter Jeanette remember.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
Again, Oh yeah, the Cardinals. Yeah, when he was with
the Reds. Josh Hamilton was the last one before that.
Then Carlos Delgado in two thousand and three. Now Sean
Green for the Dodgers against the Brewers was two. He was,
but he was playing for nin Mike Cameron in two
(14:14):
thousand and two, did it Okay?
Speaker 2 (14:15):
So then probably not? Yeah, No, Luis had it. It must
have been a three homer game that he had.
Speaker 4 (14:20):
So before let's see before the Mike Cameron won in
two thousand and two.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
The last one before that was in ninety three by
Mark Witten from the Cardinals. And then you're going back
to eighty six to Bob Horner, Mike Schmidt, did it?
Willie Mays in sixty one? Yeah, and the rest of all.
You know, super old guys.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
So let me ask you, where are you at on
Eohannio here hitting two oh six, He's tied for the
league league in homers, career high hard hit right now,
career high barrel. He's striking out the same as last year,
he's walking more. His launch angle's ridiculous, twenty four degrees.
Average x velocity is bar nunn the highest that he's
(15:04):
ever had. But uh, well, I guess this is also
a positive. Well, it's gonna one something, babbit, it's under
two hundred, babbit. But his expect autting average is still
two twenty six and Jordan Lawler is looming. So like,
where are you at on EOHINEO?
Speaker 3 (15:19):
I mean I can tell you this, like, I bet
this was the most recent like since the advent of
fantasy baseball, this is probably the most a player has
been benched when he hit four homers, right, because he's
just in the middle of a disgusting drought. Then he
did it the last day before the Rosters switch on
(15:40):
Sunday night for you know, the following week. So I
bet you Suarez was writing the pine for a lot
of people when he hit the four homers, which is
super annoying. But look, this is Suarez in a nutshell, right.
He goes super dark and he gets super hot. This
is He's been streaky for his entire career, so It's
(16:01):
not surprising to me that he started out white hot
with the five homers and everything and was leading the
league and then went into the biggest ditch, the biggest
non Kirene Paris ditch, I guess in the bigs for
a while. So it's just what he does. I mean,
didn't I know you're working on your updated rankings. I
don't know if they're done currently. Where do you have
(16:25):
him among third basement? Because that's just interesting.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Let me see where I ended up putting. I worked
on it last night. These are my rest of season ranks.
I do them every week. Sometimes it's a tiny bit
later for fantasy pros and it helps kind of power
the tools and stuff like that. So I have Eohaneo
as rest of season third basement twelve, so that is
(16:49):
a starter in the twelve team. I have Mark Vientos
ahead of him, who's you know, starting to kind of
track back hard hit looks really good. He doesn't have
as many homers. I do mind him say, I do
have Westburg ahead of him, who got hurt, but I
they said it's gonna be minimal, so I'm hopeful. So
right behind him, I have Jake Berger, who I am
dying on a hill about and he's like, you know,
(17:10):
every week it's gonna he's gonna start free falling soon.
Speaker 4 (17:13):
I mean, you're dying right now, you know, I said.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
I'm dying on that hill, like it's getting really bad.
Aeronado is right behind him. But that's kind of my
main point is like look it after him, right, Okay,
there's Paradus. You know, he's hitting two fifty four homers.
Maybe Cam Smith ringifo you got Royce Lewis down here,
who were still just waiting for anything. Josh Young obviously,
(17:38):
I think had like a hot start out. He's still
playing well, Like I could have him a little bit
higher now that I'm looking at this, but.
Speaker 4 (17:43):
I mean, why would you though?
Speaker 3 (17:45):
It feels like every time Josh Young does something good,
he takes two weeks off for it, you know, like
the guy didn't he have a finger thing the other day.
It's like just always happening with this guy. Yeah, you
don't want to wind out, So I mean, that's kind
of my point is like Suarez is super streaky, right,
He's been like this his whole career, so we can't
(18:05):
be surprised when he's in a downturn. You know, I
you can bench him. I guarantee you his bench for
a lot of teams. In fact, if you had him
on the bench, please let us know about it. In
the ball bag this week.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
Oh like you owned him. He was on the bench
and he hit.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
The Yeah, well, he was in the middle of one
of the worst slumps of the year, so of course
all he does is hit home He's Chris Carter.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
All he does is hit home runs.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
So uh yeah, I mean I think you still have
to have him as a starter if you want to
bench him, because the streak has been horrific. I don't
blame you at all, but four homers seems like maybe
he might be coming out of it. And when he does,
he can carry your entire team for a week or two.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
So there's a lot that's speaking well for him, Like
in that the hard hitting Barreling's crazy. He's hitting the
ball and consistently, more than ever, he's getting the ball
in the air.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
It's a you shingle too high, Like is he popping
up too much? And he's got maybe too much of
a hole in his swing.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
I mean, it was almost twenty twenty last year. It's
twenty four like it. It kind of is. But I
think what you have to deal with is if you
can do a two thirty two forty guy, he's gonna
have thirty five homers and you're gonna have to deal
with the he's now about He's now more than ever
about an average albatross. And I don't think it correlates
(19:25):
to Jordan Lawler at this point, just throwing out Lawler's
one of the top hitters you should be looking at.
I think Lawler or Roman Anthony or the two if
you're trying to stash a prospect hitter. Just because Lawler
is lighting the world on fire. I talked about him
on rates and barrels, but zone contact percentage was in
the high seventies last year, eighty seven right now in
PCL getting the ball in the air. I just want
(19:48):
to see him play some outfields. We can get him
to the majors. So I think that's a guy to
take a look at. Also, just since we're doing Prospect Watch,
Bubba Chandler, Bubba Chandler this week or next week, I
think it minds up to previous stuff they did, like
Jared Jones that it would be possibly next week, But
I think he has had the starts to the level
(20:09):
that that like he would be comfortable, though. I do
feel like they would be telling us now and they
would build up for two or three days, so you
might have one more and then next week, early next week,
I think you could see him up in the Major.
So I would pick up up a Chandler if he
was floating out there.
Speaker 4 (20:25):
Uh, real quick?
Speaker 3 (20:27):
Can we throw out some names to possibly dump for
a Bubba Chandler. I just want to know about some
underperformers here. Kakuchi has been pretty bad.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
And small and shortly. I'd be comfortable with that.
Speaker 4 (20:43):
Let me see Gossman's here is four and a half.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
I wouldn't do that yet like he had been early on.
Speaker 3 (20:51):
Yeah, yeah, I'm with you. I don't think I'm doing
that one either. Let me look at some more underperformers here.
Trevor m uh not, Trevor mcgil, Brios one four one
win or two four ERA.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
I have okay, So in my rest of season rankings,
it's very funny you say that I have Bubba Chandler
a couple spots ahead of Brios.
Speaker 4 (21:12):
Okay, So I think.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
The questions are, like, you know, Severino in May, they've
been good. I have Soriano higher.
Speaker 4 (21:20):
Where is he among starting pitchers?
Speaker 2 (21:22):
I put him at sixty seven right now because also
he is Yeah, he's not up, so that's the rank speculating.
But I think he'll be up soon. But like I
look at like like I'm not Robbie Ray is okay,
But I think he's going to backtrack, Like I think
when Bubba is up, you kind of bump them into
the you know, Basset's really performing well. Todz Bradley's Soriano range,
(21:46):
so guys under him, so like I guess I would
names under it. I dropped Jeffrey Springs. He's a disaster
right now.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
I mean, I think these pictures are so difficult, Like
I don't you know, they're almost like Rockies pitchers.
Speaker 4 (22:01):
You know you don't want to start him at home?
Speaker 2 (22:03):
We know that. Yeah, So you put this on here
on the closers. I want to because did I miss this?
Devin Williams has been taken out of the job. We
got that news, and I'll talk about that. But did
class looke because you said he lost the closing? I didn't.
I thought he just had a couple of days off.
Did they take him out of the role.
Speaker 3 (22:20):
No, I'm pretty sure they took I think they took
him out. I will check.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
I know he had like he had a couple of
days off and there was like a little injury warrior
or whatever. But I didn't hear that he was from.
Speaker 3 (22:32):
The seat roster resource has him on the hot seat.
But I heard, I mean, you know, Frank and uh
Frank and Scott White. I was watching them trying to
catch up with my baseball after the MLB Draft on
Sunday night, and they were talking about how he had
lost his role.
Speaker 2 (22:46):
So I mean, I know it's in question, but I guess,
I mean I might have. I might have kind of
just missed that. I'm looking through here to see like
official words. Kate Smith got the last save. No, and
he had got too straight because they want they had
said they wanted to like give him a couple of
days out. Regardless, we talked about it last week, like
Kate Smith was a guy that you really need to
(23:07):
pick up on Saturday.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
On Saturday, Closse came in and got a hold, so
did Gaddis, and then Kate Smith got the save. So
it looks like Kate Smith is the closer right now.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
Yeah, well, and I see this too. Classe is dealing
with the shoulder injury that they are working out a
little bit in lower leverage situations. I think Emmanuel Classe
will be saving games before Devin Williams is saving games.
I think there is an outside chance that Luke Weaver
could run away with this. I'm not sad way they
(23:41):
had a double header on Saturday. I think that is
probably why Kate Smith got the save. Yeah, and he's
got the shoulders thing. But like, I am more worried
about Devin Williams than I am Class, even though Class
has been stank. Devin Williams is stank, but like Luke
Weaver has been absolutely dominant. And I would not bet
(24:01):
that Devin Williams does not have more save opportunities this year.
But I do think there's a chance it could be
a month, it could be two months. Like if Luke
Weaver doesn't get them things jiggled, why are you going
to take them out of the role. Like Luke is
the nine, Devin is the eight. Like whatever, it kind
of gets you the kind of the same argument Kate
Smith the class a Unfortunately that it's like what do
(24:24):
they care at the end of the day, with these
high leverage doesn't help save people though, saves people and
a big blow to the early closer market. Yeah, hopefully,
well took my number one closer Andros Munos.
Speaker 3 (24:37):
I think, I think what's going to happen, you know, specifically,
if like one of these two end up dropping the
job for the year, is that, like Nick, you're going
to get the over correction of nobody wants closers next
year at all, and they're going to fall and fall
and fall, which I like, you know, I hope that
they should be pushed down a value anyway. They're so
(24:58):
it's just so difficult for those guys to keep a job.
It's like all of them are failed starters, right.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
So but to me, all that that happens, when that happened,
when that goes on, it just affects the top guys
because let's say everyone's like, oh yeah, I'm not going
to have high investment closers and blah blah blah. Then
it's like, okay, sure, then Class A, Devin Williams and
Hater don't go inside the top fifty. They go at seventy.
But then after they go then the mad rush starts
to happen, so the middle guys end up costing attack.
Speaker 3 (25:25):
That is more, there will be no changing that. Ever,
in fantasy baseball, you will pay too high probably for
the mid tier closers that lose their job. That is
just it's just part of hunting and it's part of
the game, you know. But I do like that some
of these top closers are taking a beating and are
going to well, I mean, I don't like it, but
(25:47):
I like that. The market will probably overcorrect for next
year's draft season, so we'll see. I mean, it's early
in the season. These guys come back and are amazing.
Everybody's gonna forget about that, and it's gonna be expensive
ass closers just as at all. But I'm kind of
hoping for a couple more to get beat up. Let's
push the value of these closers down to where it
should be.
Speaker 4 (26:07):
Out of the top fifty.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
Who would you rather, though, Luke Weaver, Arcade Smith invest
in Weaver?
Speaker 3 (26:15):
Well, I I'm with you, Like even if it is
class A just being awful in the shoulder thing they're
making up to, you know whatever, from.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
I might be why he's sucking right now.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
It could be why he's sucking too. You're right, but
you know, I don't know. Sometimes you pay these guys
a lot of money, they start to.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
Lose, get a doctor's appointment. I don't tell you what
he's has, and then all of.
Speaker 3 (26:37):
A sudden, bingo bango, you know, exo effective. I'm your boss,
you know, But I just I don't know. I I
don't like paying that much for them early, but I
feel like you kind of have to most of the time.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
So would you trade Class A away to get Jeff Hoffman? No, okay,
just trying to see where you're at, Like, are you
selling away?
Speaker 4 (27:04):
Are you?
Speaker 2 (27:04):
Are you moving off of either one of these guys?
Do you need to get out?
Speaker 3 (27:08):
I mean, if I'm in redraft, I move off Devin
Williams for sure, like they stuck him in the six
when they were losing yesterday. So yeah, I think it's
gonna be a little bit of a road to recovery.
It's also but it's also a very good by low.
I don't what can you get back for a closer
who's lost his role. I guess that's the question. Someone's
gonna buy back, but you're gonna have to take either
(27:29):
a lower level one for one closer like you said,
or you're gonna have to take a bath.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
That just makes no sense. It might have to be
like you trade a hitter and then like Kyle Finnegan
to get Class A, you know, or like a Ksey
Miiz and Finnegan for Class A. Like you're still kind
of hanging out a little bit to buy low on classe.
But it wouldn't have been possible before. I still believe
in the Class A side. I'm yeah, I'm very worried
(27:54):
about Devin Williams right now, specifically because I mean, I
guess you should in theory Kate Smith is but incredibly
great closer. He could affect Class A. But I like
legitimately think Devin Williams could be taken out of that
for the year in favor of a guy like Luke Weefer.
Not saying it will happen, but I think it could happen.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
Well, what's worse is it shoulder discomfort being completely real?
Is that more concerning? Or just his performance being so terrible?
Is that more concerning? Like I for Class A, I
guess that's my mean because Devin Williams, Devin Williams is
fully healthy and just awful, right, So, but shoulder discomfort
(28:33):
for a closer is not good. You don't throw that
many innings and you need most of those guys. The
reason why you don't throw that many innings and you're
not starters because you need those bullets. You have to
be fully healthy to be able to max out on
your pitches. So that kind of stinks. Man. I don't know,
I'm just not really I'm not really excited for a
Class A or Williams for the rest of the year.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
Sounds like you would be more comfortable moving off a
Class A to get like a lower tier closer and
then like a something player that helps you positionally.
Speaker 4 (29:02):
Yeah, I think I probably would.
Speaker 2 (29:05):
That's crazy that that's where we're at.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
I don't like it, I know, yeah, but that's what
happens to me payfields too.
Speaker 2 (29:11):
It's what happens.
Speaker 3 (29:12):
Men eat a stranger scrambled eggs.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
That's right, all right, Let's go through some injuries and
then we'll break and after that we will be breaking
down the hot players ever last week, and we'll just
get to good piece to have conversations about some guys
I like last Now, tell me if you heard this
before it's placed on the I l with right shoulder inflammation.
Not great, not great, Bob, because also you've got Blake
(29:37):
Snell who had to get injections, and uh, I mean,
far be it for me to be excited about the
Dodgers falling. Apart as from an age perspective and a
Diamondbacks fan and stuff like that, they're still gonna like
be in the World Series, but two huge pieces and
from a fantasy side that I've I feel affected by
(29:58):
the Tyler Glasstnell when you I think you know this
about me, I'll just like, year after year kind of
defend a guy like hey, he's really good, he's amazing.
It gets hurt and I'm like, damn it. The next
year I kind of go back in and then you
know me, I'll hit a point. I'll hit a point
with a guy where I've defended them and then they've
failed me, where then I'll defend them, and then when
it happens, even if it's small, I'm like, I'm done.
(30:20):
I'm like ninety percent of that with Tyler Glass now
right now, I think he's a crazy talented player, but
this happening again, I just I think I think I'm
kind of out and it's not dropping or anything like that,
but rightchild, inflammation is bad. I don't know where this
is going to lead. It's just always injuries.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
And so when he comes back and he starts performing, well,
you're trading him like you want this guy off my
damn team. I am sick of this. Look I understand,
and I kind of agree with you. This has been
like he's been like this for his entire career, right,
So I don't know, like, like you said, stop me
if you've heard this before, but Tyler Glass now is injured.
(31:02):
I mean it's a constant thing that keeps happening with him.
And I think specifically for Dynasty. How old is he?
He's thirty one? Two thought thirty one right now, But
I mean, yeah, he's He made twenty one starts in
two thousand and three. He made twenty two starts in
two thousand and four. That's the most starts in his
(31:24):
career ever by a lot. It's not the most appearances.
In twenty eighteen. He was a reliever for a big
chunk of time, and but I mean, you're getting twenty
starts out of this guy. Somewhere in that neighborhood every
single year. What is that worth? Even if they're twenty
good starts. You know, it's nice for Rodo, but head
to head, you absolutely cannot count on this guy to
(31:45):
be healthy for you down the stretch in the playoffs
when you really need him. So, you know, especially being
on the Dodgers, a team with a lot of depth
that needs to keep this guy healthy for the playoff run.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
There's something to be said about in redraft, like if
he is out for an extended period of time, getting
him for the back half and getting him like, you know.
Speaker 3 (32:02):
How can you possibly depend on him for the best. Yeah,
and that's what the point you're at now too, right.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
Yeah, Well, like I think the draft capital of me
drafting him next year, I'm just not gonna do it again.
It's not going to happen. But for this year, it's
got to be a super Bilow situation. But I'm more
likely to like let him come back stagger some games up,
especially if he comes back early, because then there's still
way too many games where he's gonna get hurt again.
It's like if he were to miss a month and
a half and come back in you know, June or something,
(32:31):
I don't know. Maybe if there's a half a season,
can you stay healthy for fifteen games? Possibility it's better
than twenty, So maybe there's a buy there, But I
think I'm I want to just move out. By the way,
he's also not great this year. Expected dra was in
the fives. He's walking way more, giving up so much barrel.
That's like crazy the contact he was giving up. But
(32:52):
that also might be attached to the shoulder inflammation. And
if those results were carried over for the season with
some injury and now it's shoulder inflammation, that's a bad sign.
I mean, results have led to an injury. Isn't usually
end well.
Speaker 3 (33:07):
It's his worst walk percentage since two thoy seventeen, it's
his highest SIERRA since twenty seventeen. Yeah, I mean, it's
just that he's a great picture, but he has always hurt.
And yeah, I've been done for it. I've been done
(33:27):
with it for a while.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
Now you have no cat tip to you, you one
hundred percent have also another big picture going on the
il Logan Gilbert. He was already placed right elbow flexer
string another not great one, like give me a hamstring
injury for Spencer strider. Don't give me shoulder inflammation and
elbow flexer strings. That's really bad. I expect Logan's probably
(33:49):
gonna come out here to Arizona and be chilling. I
don't expect. I don't remember what they said, but I
don't think this is going to be a super short stint.
And by the way, also col Wagan's is moved with
groin tightness a little bit better. He's uncertain, pitchers, big
pictures dropping like flies bogs.
Speaker 3 (34:07):
Yeah, it's crazy. I mean, Logan Gilbert was so good
this year too, the opposite of of what you know,
what we've seen from Glass now. Right now, Sierra is
one to eight to nine as era is two three seven,
uh thirty seven point six percent strikeout rate forty four
k's in thirty and a third like walk rate up
(34:28):
a little bit from last year, but not crazy. Csw
highest of his career, swinging strike rate highest of his
career by a lot, only six starts, but he has
been excellent in those six starts. And still you know,
place for the Mariner sold one to one record, but uh,
he was really killing it. This one really hurts if
you were rostering Logan Gilbert. I don't think I have
(34:49):
him anywhere since I've cut back so many leagues.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
But oh man, this thinks I don't think I had it.
I might have had him in one spot probably and
so probably a super important league or something, but a
lot of But now, if you look at the top
end of drafts, it's like top endclosers hurt, high investment
pitchers hurt unfortunately, Blake Snell, Cole Reagan's logan, Gilbert Tyler Glass.
Now it's a lot of in Spencer Strider re hurt,
(35:14):
just a lot of investment, and also some mediocre stuff,
like you know, Crochet has been a tick down. Schwellenbach
is really kind of cooled off. It's just like the
top end of pitching has been kind of rough. A
couple other pieces of news, and then we'll just throw
out some of these other injury things. Kyrone Paris over
twenty four to fourteen, strikeout, zero walks. Joe is just
having a whole I Told you so party every single
(35:38):
night about it. We actually broke him down from a
dynasty perspective on rates and barrels. Today, I don't know,
I'm pretty torn on him. He still has some big
underlying stats, but everything has been atrocious and like, remember
Moncaa is gonna comeback. They got Christian Moore down there.
I just don't think it looks super great for kyraen Paris.
But I do think the sample size is still too
(36:00):
small comparative to the changes he made. And one of
the things that's like you saw huge results and then
now he's struggling, Like we need a little bit more
to see if these big changes can bounce things back.
Like I don't if I were Joe, I'm probably not
victory lapping that he's I was the most right ever
(36:22):
about it quite yet, because like significant changes equated to
significant results, and then now he's backtracking. This might still
be part of the process, but it's leaning in his favor.
So I don't think there's a lot great going on
for Kyron. Yeah, I mean it stinks.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
I he's a drop. He's the most drop player in
baseball right now. So if you're in a regular twelve
man league, there's no reason to drag him around for
all the reasons you just said. He's oh for twenty
four you know when it is he going to keep playing?
Are they going to keep him up? If this you
(37:01):
know how how far do you let him go? Oh
for before you send him down.
Speaker 2 (37:07):
Them?
Speaker 3 (37:07):
Or like form Oh, I think you should be off
your team right now.
Speaker 2 (37:12):
He's away. I think it's a week away, Like Christian
Moore is not going to come up. But I don't
know where mon Cott is at. They just they got
a lot of other guys. I think it's a week
away from them just being like this is it's not you,
it's me type of thing, or it is you.
Speaker 3 (37:26):
Right, it's not me. Yeah, it's not us, it's you.
You need to go down and figure it out. Yeah,
I think, Uh, that's tough. How many options does he
have left? Does he have options left? He's got two left.
He probably he's getting sent.
Speaker 2 (37:39):
Down and for fantasy he can be sent down. Jeremy PayNet,
you'd wrote here leading off for Houston two days in
a row. A lot of the underlying metrics. He was
a great buye. They experimented with this before though. They
love his like ability to not strike out and contact
as a leadoff spot. This would be great if this continues.
Speaker 4 (37:57):
Hasn't.
Speaker 3 (37:58):
I can't remember if it was you reading something or
if our boy John who's a huge Astros fan, told
me this, but I know Bagwell worked with him a
bunch when he first came up, and bagwells he has
seen him as a leadoff hitter.
Speaker 2 (38:11):
But yeah, I think that was a couple of years ago.
That's where that started. Like two years ago. That was
like Jeremy Pine is going to be the lead off guy.
Bagwell loved him. There they've da and yeah, this has.
Speaker 3 (38:19):
Been fortshold by Jeff Bagwell. Uh moa deeb here now
is in his he will lead the way for the Astros.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
Right well, great Bylo we talked about it. Great Bilo
for sure, and Jared Kellnick is gone sitting down. Eddie
Rosario had signed to a one year deal was called
up and this might be it. This might be I
don't know if they're done done because they need depth
and you need guys. But they brought in Brian de
la Cruz. They're giving up on him for Rosario, they
(38:50):
signed for Dugo and Acuna is coming back. I think
I think kel Nick needs to be shipped out to
another team. I know it's you don't need a fourth
new restart, but like there's nothing there left for him,
Go and send him to a needy team that will
give him some potential playing time because they're struggling with outfield.
I'm not sure who that is right now, the Rockies maybe,
(39:11):
or just get him the hell out of there. But
you're done overall. There's no fantasy implication even if you
were traded.
Speaker 3 (39:17):
Doesn't I mean, yeah, the Rockies. By the way, that's lared.
You have seen the stuff about the Rockies right like
they might be the worst word'lby team ever. They have
four wins, there are four and twenty four. Who is
showing up to see this team? They don't put any
(39:37):
money into it. It's gross.
Speaker 2 (39:39):
I mean, unless they start putting sativa in the seats
like the one from Colorado is going to spend their
time go into those games. They're gonna have to turn
that into an actual hot box for people to show up.
There's no chance.
Speaker 4 (39:52):
I just what are we doing? Sell the team? Then?
Speaker 3 (39:55):
If you're not gonna do anything with it, sell this
team to someone who will put money into it.
Speaker 2 (40:00):
Everything in life is so expensive right now. It's like
there's just fear. Articles of our shows are going to
be who's gonna go of all the things? Who is
gonna waste their money on the insanely overpriced in person
baseball games like parking Opening Day. I'd pay you like
fifty dollars just to park here in Arizona. Who's going
(40:23):
to the parking, the food, the tickets are overpriced? Who
is going to go to watch a four win Rockies
team who really just don't have any players out there
amongst you don't even need the other worldly issues that
are going on there, just normally, who would want to
go and see that garbage?
Speaker 1 (40:40):
Yea?
Speaker 2 (40:41):
And they're not doing anything about it. The one thing
they did about it, you signed. You may have made
the worst signing in history of Chris Bryant. Chris Bryant,
he has a disease because he went to Colorado. He
literally formed a disease and he can't play like it's crazy,
like a degenerative back disease as soon as he got
into the Maybe maybe it was because of the elevation.
I don't know. Suck zach ve stink, effing miserable dude.
(41:07):
It is a bad existence right now for them. Yeah,
and Colorado was beautiful too, I've been there, actually.
Speaker 3 (41:13):
I mean is great, like, uh, you know, look at
the Broncos, look at the Avalanche people will show up
if you put money into the team.
Speaker 2 (41:21):
It's like Arizona. That's that's Arizona thing that happens here.
Everyone was like, oh, blah blah blah, and it was like, yeah,
hockey was a little bit of a push. But when
these teams win, people come out. But people don't want
to support a sixty win Diamondbacks team. They don't want
to go out to the Suns when they didn't have stars.
Speaker 4 (41:36):
I always took the other day and it made me.
Speaker 2 (41:39):
It made me a little ashamed. I mean it's still
pretty bad, but I mean listen, I would go every day,
but not looking to drop one hundred dollars every time,
just so I can like spark and have a drink
or whatever. All right, other injury news and we'll get
to the other stuff. Royce Lewis started to rehab assignment,
so we got a lot of major league players from
Katel to Merrill and royce Lewis all kind of rehabbing back.
(42:04):
We got some guys back, Toby Meyers, Francisco Alvarez, and
Jack Lighter all activated from the IL. Alvarez got in
that nineteen run game they had yesterday. Good Lord nine RBI.
Speaker 3 (42:15):
I saw something about like it was nine RBIs in
a three inning stretch and MLB history, and I think
it's three guys that have done it. It was now Nimo,
Sammy Sosa, and I can't remember who.
Speaker 2 (42:26):
The last person was, so that's crazy. Yeah, it's nuts.
Frando Tatis senior. He had the two Grand Slams.
Speaker 3 (42:33):
That's eight rbi, though not not have another. He didn't
have another at bat. I mean, uh, he had the
two at bats, two Grand Slams.
Speaker 2 (42:42):
So but Nimo didn't have nine rbi and one inning
did he? No, it was in the three inning stretch. Oh,
you're so well, But Tatis said nine.
Speaker 4 (42:49):
Rbi in three innings total, So.
Speaker 2 (42:53):
Well, Tatis said eight RBIs in one inning.
Speaker 3 (42:55):
Yeah, he didn't get any in the next two inning.
Oh he didn't, Okay, I guess because he wasn't. I
don't think he was on that list. I again, I can't.
It might have been Tatist, but I can't remember the
last name. It was Nemo and then Soso was the
last guy to do it.
Speaker 2 (43:09):
There was one of the guys, probably some like you
know herk Jeggelbach, who is known as the glue Man.
In nineteen five.
Speaker 3 (43:17):
Yeah, Curly Lambeau the ninth Curly Bengal, but Curly Bengal
in eighteen seventy four.
Speaker 2 (43:24):
Baseball all right. Other injury things, Aadley Richmond didn't play
on Sunday with hands soreness. He was hit on the
hand Saturday blocking a ball in the dirt. He's also
atrocious this year. He's really bad. Jordan Westberg was placed
on the io with a hamstring strain. Luis Seal started
a throwing program on Sunday. That's solid. More I ls
Tyler O'Neill, Luke, Keishel Or Keshel, Kamar Rocker, Jake Mingham
(43:47):
and aj Minter all on the iel. In the rehab world.
Speaker 3 (43:50):
That sucks, you know, breaking your arm getting hit. That
is a tough, tough.
Speaker 2 (43:57):
Fractured forum. I think well. And in the rehab pitching market,
Ryan Weather's three innings pitch and single a thirty five pitches,
probably gonna need a couple more. And Uri Perez nineteen pitches.
I believe in his return to hig a hit ninety
eight like that road. Probably June he's going to be back,
so too. Yeah, Marlon, Yeah, we're excited about.
Speaker 3 (44:20):
Yeah, it's you know June and coming back. It's the
control issues. Like you know, it's still it's giant question
marks here, but at least nice to see these guys
coming back when we're also getting guys exiting.
Speaker 4 (44:34):
Right now, it's the show.
Speaker 2 (44:36):
Let's take a break. When we come back. We're going
to break down some of the hottest performers over the
last week, and then we take a little peek at
some ad drops and some pitchers you can look at
for this week right here in this league.
Speaker 1 (44:47):
It's in this league, got what plants craze, It's got electrolytes.
Speaker 2 (44:52):
What are electrolytes?
Speaker 1 (44:53):
Do you even know?
Speaker 2 (44:54):
It's what they used to make.
Speaker 1 (44:56):
In this league.
Speaker 4 (44:58):
I'm the smartest guy in the world.
Speaker 2 (45:00):
Oh like Q Test, you took him prison already. Let's
take a look at some of the hottest hitters around baseball,
and we'll look at some good pitching performances over the
last seven days. So this is going to include Monday,
your hits leader, mister Andy Pajis with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
(45:22):
He doing the business and I have seen quite a
few questions about mister Andy PaaS, who's now up to
two seventy six five homers, two stolen bases. The profile
is kind of ish, is very mediocre, to be honest
with you. The hard hit stuff isn't great. It's pretty low.
Thirty percent average is not great. He's not barreling a bunch,
(45:43):
but he's on a big, super hot streak. So the
question is is are you a buyer of Andy Pajas
or are you a seller? I mean good, you sell
what he's doing. You buy yourself what he's doing right
at this moment.
Speaker 3 (45:56):
Well, I'll sell that. I don't think he's going to
hit six hundred. I mean that's what he said over
the last seven days. So you know, can a guy develop, Yes,
specifically with the Dodgers. We've seen so many guys go
from bad situations go to the Dodgers and start hitting again.
It's happened for a long time.
Speaker 4 (46:13):
Now, So I don't know.
Speaker 3 (46:15):
I kind of buy that he could be a good
performer that's the season.
Speaker 2 (46:18):
But this is insane, So I think he's he's borderlines
that like fifth outfielder type of spot, Like the Dodgers
lineup is so good, and you know, is there a
scenario where he can continuously move up? Like maybe, but
it's it's only so limited. I think he's worth the
pick up because of the hot streak right now, but
I don't think things are going to quite continue. Jared Duran,
(46:39):
Aaron Judge both with twelve, Wyatt Langford with eleven, and
then a little interesting group JP Crawford, Alex Bregman, Chandler
Simpson with ten hits, stopping, stopping, just as dude, three walks,
three strikeouts, two stolen bases, four fifty five average ten
hits and I don't think a single one was an
(47:01):
extra base hit. So he is proving he's not going
to strike out, make a bunch of contact, stolen bases
or up. Chandler Simpson kind of, the dude, this is
crazy too. Let me change this. The well still doesn't
change the roster percentage on Yahoo, it's probably a day
old thirty five percent, it says, I can I can
actually check that live. Yeah, I'd be curious what that
(47:23):
if Yahoo or a fantasy pro scraped Yahoo's info because
the consensus with thirty percent.
Speaker 4 (47:28):
So how far off is thirty six percent? All right?
Speaker 2 (47:30):
So I think it's just it's always a day off
of a scraping info. Thirty six percent for Chandler Simpson
too low, razy.
Speaker 4 (47:37):
Low, too low.
Speaker 2 (47:39):
I mean he's too low witsky. Oh that was a
good one.
Speaker 3 (47:44):
Four hundred average, five runs, three RBI, three style base
twelve for thirty so far.
Speaker 4 (47:50):
So uh yeah, I mean go pick him up.
Speaker 2 (47:52):
Get that speed on your team. Who would you rather have,
Pius or Simpson? Simpson? Yeah, it pauses twenty percent on YEAHO,
I just want to throw this out right under that.
With nine hits over the last seven days, Jordan Beck,
who has had almost a twelve hundred slug five homers,
six rbi. The only like bright spot really him and
(48:13):
Brittan Doyle, but the only bright spot there. Beck Is interesting.
His ownership is between Pajes and Simpson. I think beck
Is actually might be interested in Beck over pa has
just because I think he has an opportunity to hit
higher in the lineup, because it's just a bunch of
trash in Colorado home.
Speaker 4 (48:32):
Yeah, I think so too.
Speaker 3 (48:33):
They got to go there two eighty right now, ten runs,
ten RBI, five homers, fource wipes like he's doing a
little bit of everything too, thank God.
Speaker 4 (48:40):
Rather that Jordan Beck.
Speaker 2 (48:42):
I think there's some probably really good questions out there
you guys could ask of like who would you rather,
and then you could do Jordan Beck or but we
answered the pajs or Beck and it would be Jordan Beck.
Home run leaders, it is Jordan Beck. Over the last
week he's had five with four taskar Hernandez e Hanio
who had all of him in one game, and Jorge Polonco.
(49:04):
Look at that. Polanco over twelve hundred slug four to
seventy one average eight hits over the last week. I've
been talking about him since the beginning of the freaking
season and that I thought he was interesting on the season.
Now he's hitting three seventy seven, He's got seven homers.
Looks bigger, looks healthier. I still think Polonco is criminally underrated,
(49:27):
but where he was under on the very first sheet,
and I do my sheet on Patreon, which didn't do
one this week, it's already too late to go into it,
so we'll have one fresh next week. So that's the
dance competition. But if you remember my very first sheet,
I had him as a pickup in the under ten
percent range and talked about him over and over. He's
(49:47):
now over fifty percent owned on Yahoo, so there's still
some ownership to be had, But I think Polanco has
been a really big bright spot.
Speaker 3 (49:55):
Yeah, I mean he's been great, and we've seen this
in the past, but that was twenty twenty one one
when he hit the thirty three homers, right, So outside
of that, he had one year of twenty two bombs
and one hundred runs. That was in twenty nineteen. His
recent track record has not been great. Two thirty five,
two fifty five, two thirteen, and now out of nowhere's
(50:16):
three seventy seven. He's hitting one hundred and twelve points
better than his career batting average to sixty five.
Speaker 2 (50:22):
So but his hitting profile sixteen percent barrel career high,
fifty four percent hard hit career high. You know what
I love about those? It's paired with an almost career
low twelve percent strikeout rate lowered the strikeouts, hits the
ball harder XBA three seventy one. That's his expected batting average,
and he's hitting over three hundred against all pitch types.
(50:44):
He is expected is also over.
Speaker 3 (50:46):
Three huge against all His strikeout rate is at twelve percent.
Now it's his career is nineteen point three percent.
Speaker 2 (50:58):
Like that is uh, that's crazy.
Speaker 3 (51:00):
I just this can't last but we might be in
for a really good year from Jarne Polanco right now.
Speaker 2 (51:06):
Yeah, next on the list Pajes O'Neill, Cruz, Larnick, Riley Green,
Augustine and Ramirez and luis Arius luis Arius all with
three homers. Let's talk about the Augustine. Augustine is what
I heard on the video. It's very difficult. He's not
a Willy Wonka character, but he is a catcher that
(51:27):
you need to own around fifty percent ownership on Yahoo
hit three homers. The problem is is like your expectations
are going to get crazy. But we're in the next episode,
We're going to talk about rest of season ranks. I
will tell you I moved him inside the top twelve catcher. Yeah,
(51:49):
he's the top twelve catcher. Is where I have him
right now. We'll talk about where I have these guys
in their ranks in next episode, kind of going into
the new month. But you know it, the here's where
the question really becomes. You're not dropping William Contrere's obviously,
Riley's doing well, will Smith is doing well. Blah blah blah.
We had people asking like Logan o'happy or him. I
(52:11):
think Alvarez has moved above in ten team leagues. If
you want to go with the hot hand, I think
you could drop Austin Wells and like Sean Murphy and
you can drop j Two Ramudo fifteen team leagues. I
have Ramirez above Remuta Ramuto now, but like that's the
range that he's in. I'm probably not dropping. I'm not
dropping the top five easy. I don't think I'm dropping
Francisco Alveraz and I don't think I'm dropping o'happy. But
(52:33):
I'll drop Wells for him right now in a shorter
single catcher league.
Speaker 3 (52:36):
Yeah, I think that's fine, And I think most catchers
are droppable for him, Like who are the absolute no
way you would drop them? Raley either Contreras, right, Hunter
Goodman has been pretty Hunter Goodman or Ramirez.
Speaker 2 (52:54):
Ramirez, but yeah, Goodman and Goodman is pretty interesting right now, No, lies.
Speaker 3 (52:59):
You're not dropping so al not dropping yainer Will Smith.
So that's seven. I think everybody else can be dropped
for him, right you want to do it?
Speaker 2 (53:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (53:09):
Right, yeah, yeah, exactly. So it's like you've got a
one for one.
Speaker 3 (53:12):
It's not like you go out and you spend a
ton of fab if you have j t Romuto and
you know you want to go get a Gustin, right, like,
you don't spend a ton of fab. You try it
and if it works, it works, and if it doesn't,
it doesn't you throw a cheap bit out. But you know,
if your catcher sucks and is not working, then yes,
spend a little fab on them.
Speaker 2 (53:34):
The one thing I would say, and I'm not trying
to compare them at all, but like, remember like the
huge high output of kirum Paris and now how people
are just jumping off of a bridge like Ramirez is
gonna come back down to earth a bit. I don't
know what that doesn't look like. And I don't think
it's gonna be zer for twenty four or anything like that.
But just remember, like you got to figure out what
can you stomach. But that's why if you push it
(53:55):
to guys like Austin Wells and like langele Ears, it's
like it's already bad batting averages, so you think you
can stomach it a lot easier. So the Augustin Ramirez.
All right, so let's go over to runs here for
your run leaders. Eohannio with nine runs scored over the
last seven days, A grip of them with seven pajas, Hernandez,
(54:17):
Lars Newpar, Eli White, Hunter Goodman, Austin Hayes, Devers, Pee
Alonso and then in the sixth territory again it's kind
of a it's a lot of them, beck O'Neil Cruz
and them. The guy to stop at.
Speaker 3 (54:29):
Eli White could not stop getting hits against us. It
was the whole weekend. He was on base and driving
in runs.
Speaker 2 (54:37):
I hate when this, just like guys I always remember
he was better than Eli White, but like Andre Ethier
just owned the Diamondbacks. He like I probably a career
five hundred hitter against the Diamondbacks, And sometimes you just
have those guys. The player that I was going to
bring up, though, is Lars Newpark. I feel bad that
I got off the Lars new Bar train because he
looks like he's back. He's hitting two seven twenty one,
(55:00):
four homers, three stolen bases. The hitting profile is through
the roof. It is top like twenty percent tile in
the league. Almost across the board. He's barreling. Hard hit
rate is almost fifty percent. He has a higher walk
rate than strikeout percent sixteen percent strikeout percentage, seventeen point
six walk percentage, he's expected batting average is good. He's
(55:21):
consistently hitting balls kind of across the board. He's pulling
air balls even better or pulling fly balls, and his
zone contact rate is above league average. And with the leadoff,
Lars might be back. I still think it's like a
fifteen to fifteen guy, but runs might be up, Batting
averages up. Lars is very impressive. Right now. I would
(55:42):
rather have Lars than Pajas or Beck. But that's I think.
You know, we're we're creating tiers of some of these guys.
Speaker 3 (55:48):
Yeah, he's always had the high walk rate, right, it's
fourteen percent for his career, but seventeen point six and
better than his strikeout percentage is so great. I think
maybe though you have to hate him. I think if
you hate him, he's good, but when you like him,
he's bad. So I think maybe you are the antithesis
(56:09):
of this hot streak for him. So just say something
bad about Lars.
Speaker 2 (56:13):
I'm like patient zero with Lars Newpak. That's right. I'm
very disappointed that I was told in the AFL that
he had trademarked his name to do a protein bar
and he never did it, so he doesn't follow through.
Speaker 3 (56:25):
Yeah, you know what, that's true, doesn't follow through. So
maybe this hot streak will continue now that Welsh hates
him again.
Speaker 2 (56:31):
Yeah, we don't have anything for any guy like that.
Your RBI leaders, Brandon Neimo, you had nine, but he
led the way the last week with eleven, Tasker Hernandez
with ten, Pete Crow Larnick, Nuelvie Marte with nine, and
then your eighth were Polanco, Crawford, Vento's and Yelich. Let's
talk about some Noelvie.
Speaker 3 (56:50):
Okay, yeah, we want to talk about somebody else real quick.
I want to first stop on PCA and I want
to know where you have PCA in your rest of
the season rankings overall.
Speaker 2 (57:00):
Okay, I had just oh on that, Well, I didn't
do I'm not doing the overall. I'm just doing all
it's a position. Yeah, we're not doing overalls at this
point in the season.
Speaker 3 (57:07):
All right, how high is PCA among outfielders?
Speaker 4 (57:11):
Then?
Speaker 2 (57:11):
So I have him in the top thirty, inside the
top thirty outfielders, which might not be because it depending
where you had him before. I had him a bit lower.
But okay, here's another caveat. Let me give you do
need to remember positionally, fantasy pros will use like Yahoo's ranking,
so like there will be some guys that might pop
(57:34):
up a little bit, like Britt Brooker is already on
here and he won't be on some other lists. I
just want that to be like a slight caveat. But
I've got him near Brian Reynolds, Michael Harris Schwarber, so like,
those are the names that he's near, which I think
is a good range. But I could see if someone
wants to go ballistic and have him be top fifteen.
But I'd ask you. You kind of gave me a
(57:56):
look when I said, inside the top thirty, what was
your which reactionary rank? Because I'll tell you the guys
that I have around rank.
Speaker 3 (58:04):
So I asked Joe Rico this on Thursday in our interview,
which you know was awesome. Everybody should go check it out.
Joe is uh just the nicest guy in the world.
I asked, like, and this is a ridiculous question. I
was like, is Pca a top two round player the
rest of the year, because he's just at that point
just nuts. He said, no way, I think he's a fifth,
(58:27):
maybe a fourth. I think that's probably where you have
him ranked right now. What I mean, this dude, this
dude is having a great season average hovering around three
hundred and twelve swipes already and five homers.
Speaker 2 (58:43):
Let's do a game then you say top if you
think he's like top two or three, I just don't
know like that that would be just just let's just
go listen to the phone with it, Like what is
your gut reaction to, like, like third round?
Speaker 3 (58:54):
No, I thought two was insane, so I think fourth
round is probably correct.
Speaker 4 (58:59):
I was just I was just on the hype train.
He's been great.
Speaker 2 (59:02):
Oh give me a number, like, just give me an
outfield number that you're like that equates to that?
Speaker 3 (59:07):
Is it?
Speaker 2 (59:07):
Outfielder twenty one? Okay? Cool? So here are the guys
I have in the like just above and just below,
So just above is taoscar Butler, Rooker Altuve, and just
below Altuve is twenty one, and just below is Santander
(59:28):
Schwarber Michael Harris, So, like, who who is he?
Speaker 3 (59:32):
He's over Santander right now? Because isn't Santander not hitting
for average?
Speaker 2 (59:38):
He's sitting Yeah, I mean he's one seventy nine, he
is struggling.
Speaker 4 (59:42):
Yeah, so he's a head of Harris too, who struggled.
Speaker 2 (59:44):
I guess I need to look at that.
Speaker 3 (59:47):
Who did you say Altuve or him? I mean Altove
so qualifies at second.
Speaker 2 (59:52):
I literally have him at twenty one.
Speaker 4 (59:57):
Then who is who's above Altuve?
Speaker 2 (01:00:00):
Rooker?
Speaker 4 (01:00:01):
I want Rooker?
Speaker 2 (01:00:02):
Who's in?
Speaker 4 (01:00:03):
Then Butler?
Speaker 2 (01:00:04):
I think Butler tay Oskar's ahead of him. I want
I have Mike Crout above them. But you don't like
Mike Trout. But yeah, so I think like twenty is
the range and that you have you like him my
number right now. We we'll talk about in the next episode.
But it's inside the top thirty, so it's uh okay,
you know it's in the twenties.
Speaker 3 (01:00:22):
Yeah, he was just Joe and I were talking about him.
I just wanted to get your take on that. Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:00:27):
Noelvie, Marte, Noelvie. It's a super interesting story too, that
he's like bouncing back in the ups and downs. People
had ask like when he got called up, like, hey,
is he viable? And we said, you know, it's good
to speculate. Let's see, there's some things that are still worrisome.
But one of the biggest things if it holds. He's
not striking out thirty one percent K percentage last year
(01:00:50):
short sample size so far this year, but eleven percent
in the majors. He's already put up a one to
sixteen max TV in the majors, barreling more than he
did last year, walking more than he did last year
at essentially ten percent, and he's got a two seventy
seven expected batting average. His stat line three homers, four
stolen bases, three seventy average in just under fifty eth
(01:01:12):
bats right now. There's a lot. And he's pulling the
ball way more twelve percent last year, twenty two percent
this year, which is huge, and his own contact percentage
is up two percent. These are things that are going
to get you staying. If you don't strike out and
you're producing and hitting for some average, you're going to
stay in that lineup. Be damn the Christian and Karnacian
Strand or jamer I think Noel Vie, I mean, what
(01:01:34):
is his stupid percentage? Uh, he is fifty one percent
on Yahoo. I would rectify that.
Speaker 3 (01:01:39):
If he's still out there, you're saying he got an
injection of goodness somewhere, is that what we're saying for
Noel Vi Martze.
Speaker 4 (01:01:47):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:01:47):
Now, look this this is amazing these I mean it's
fifty at bats, right, so we're not nothing is settled.
But to drop the strikeout rate thirty one percent to
eleven point eight and that was over two hundred and
forty two or two hundred and twenty nine at bats
last season? What is his what's his strikeout right? Strikeout
(01:02:11):
rate been in the minors twenty eight Let's see, twenty
twenty three was seventeen and a half, twenty twenty four
in Triple A was twenty eight point three.
Speaker 2 (01:02:23):
Oh was it a Triple A this year?
Speaker 4 (01:02:25):
A Triple A this year was fifteen point nine?
Speaker 2 (01:02:28):
But see that correlates to the major league change. Too,
huge decrease at Triple A this year, and then it
kiss carried over to the majors.
Speaker 3 (01:02:35):
And his walk rate last year in the majors was
three point seven percent. Uh in the minors last season,
now he only had twelve at bats, so uh, but yeah,
I mean he's been great. So I don't know how
much I'm buying into this insane change in the strikeout rate,
(01:02:56):
but it looks it's not gonna be what it is
in the major right now, because he's already worse than
that in the minors.
Speaker 2 (01:03:02):
Yeah. I don't need it to be twelve percent. Yeah,
but if we can get twenty percent, then we're taking
right exactly. So good ballpark, good lineup. Yeah, Noelvie needs
to be rostered way more than fifty percent. Yeah. Stolen
base leaders Pete Crow, Armstrong, Ellie De la Cruz, Kyle Tucker,
and unfortunately Luke Kashel with four, but Pete Crow still
(01:03:23):
on that list with three, Jared durand Zach Netto, Luis
Robert and Geraldo Perdomo, and then he had some two's
Pajis Cruz, noel Vie, a gagillion other players out there.
Perdomo's really interesting. I don't know if you looked at
it at least off tonight. I look last night. I
believe he's number two in shortstop war out there fantasy.
(01:03:44):
It's a little bit wonky because you know Homer's and
what he ultimately does, but he does have a lot
of batting average, good better point league player. Perdomo is
pretty fascinating.
Speaker 3 (01:03:52):
Often let me just let me just up you there. Uh,
he's tenth in baseball in War among hitters. I am
not looking at pictures, but he's the ten.
Speaker 2 (01:04:02):
I was looking at hitters too when I.
Speaker 3 (01:04:04):
Say, yeah, he's tenth in hitters in war right now?
So yeah, Pert Almos having a very strong year.
Speaker 2 (01:04:13):
Yeah, and just a little slight pickup. You guys could
take a look at too if you're looking just for
replacement at shortstop or whatever. Uh, Luise Roberts still not
coming around, but still in basis zach Netto is coming around.
Only sixty percent owned on Yahoo right now. You should
definitely fix that. But kind of like a lockdown of
players that we know. Uh, pitching, let's go over on
(01:04:34):
the pitching performances this this weekend started. Was this the
actual weekend starters? Or was this from the week before?
Speaker 4 (01:04:40):
This was from this was from the weekend?
Speaker 2 (01:04:42):
Okay, so are this actual weekend so I can see? Oh, okay, cool,
So let's do these and then we'll do a quick
look at the last seven seth Lugo eighth innings, six
strikeouts against Houston. Shane Boss seven innings, six strikeouts against
the Padres.
Speaker 3 (01:04:57):
Had some friends at that game. My friend Kate got
a rod. Yeah, they were in San Diego and she
sent me a picture. She said, we just got a
ball thrown to us by Shane Boz before the game.
So yeah, they were enjoying their time in San Diego.
Speaker 2 (01:05:15):
I love Shane bos. He was in the AFL many
many years ago and he's just a great dude, good
picture and really bouncing back, and you know, to be fair,
someone went on the Dynasty update like I want like
a little I want to see a little bit more
out of Boz before I go crazy. But someone was
kind of picking and it was the right thing. They
were just like, are we did you confuse at all
of the wrong shanees in Tampa Bay? Thinking I had
(01:05:37):
McClanahan too high and Bos too low. I was like, no,
I definitely haven't because I think McClanahan is still like
an elite, elite picture. But maybe I do have Bos
too low. But it's kind of a like, let's see
you healthy and continue going. But striking out six versus
Padres team is not easy right now, so that is
an impressive auting. Paul Skeens went six and one, striking
(01:05:57):
out nine against the Dodgers. Evaldi continued to roll six
and seven strikeouts Robbie Ray seven innings eight strikeouts against Texas,
his K percentages as walk rates up expected as there
Joe and I kind of signified him as maybe a
sell right now. I'm I don't want you think about that.
I'm not super into Robbie Ray. Even yeah, this last
start was good to me. That's why you sell him
(01:06:19):
off because his last good start.
Speaker 3 (01:06:21):
I don't know. I think kind of I kind of
like Robbie Ray. But I'll tell you what. The Sierra
is insane, the x FIP is insane. It's up over
four and a half right now, the era is three
seven three. But I do like the ballpark, you know,
and the Giants are playing well. Like I think I'm
a holding pattern on Robbie Ray. I think if you
(01:06:43):
paid for him, you're getting way better than you expected.
I mean, if somebody wants to come and pay for him,
then great, go ahead and trade him. But I just
don't think you're gonna get what you You're not gonna
get what he's performing at because the underlying numbers is
so bad. So I think I'm just sticking with Robby Ray.
You know, if he has like two bads, he's one
of those guys. Two bad starts in a row, three
(01:07:05):
bad starts in a row. All right, we're getting another
plan together. But I kind of like what he's doing.
Speaker 4 (01:07:11):
I like that there's.
Speaker 2 (01:07:11):
Different perspectives on it. I'm just I'm not super into it.
Speaker 4 (01:07:15):
What's his game log?
Speaker 2 (01:07:16):
Like?
Speaker 3 (01:07:16):
It was was, did he does he have like one
bad blow up game in here or something? It was
he hasn't given up more than four in any game.
We did have a four inning, four earned run game,
and he's had a couple like you know, at New
York he couldn't get out of the fourth. He struck
out seven in that game. Though, it's when he's getting
(01:07:37):
stuck with these walks five.
Speaker 2 (01:07:39):
He's got a fourteen percent walker rate right now, which
is right.
Speaker 3 (01:07:44):
That's that's been what's his whip at right now, because
he's been giving up five walks against Seattle, four against
the Yankees that was in only four innings, and five
against Billy in four innings as well. But the last
two games three against Milwaukee and only one and that
really good start against X's. So maybe he's starting to
find his rhythm for the last couple of games. If
(01:08:04):
he can keep the base runners off the You know,
if he can lower that whip, I think he can
turn into a pretty solid pitcher for you. I'm not
gonna sit here and tell you he's good, But it's
that inconsistency of the walk rate.
Speaker 2 (01:08:19):
For me, my problem. Down twelve percent barrel against fourteen
percent walk rate. He has a higher walk percentage than
barrel percentage in all the wrong ways. And his velo
is down. Fastball is down about a little over half
a mile per hour, but the slider looks like it
is down just about a mile per hour. So I
don't love that stuff with the Robbie Ray fran Friender
(01:08:39):
Valdez complete game, five strikeouts against Kansas City lost. Derek
Scouble six innings, eleven strikeouts against Baltimore. Joe Ryan had
a great game, eleven strikeouts in seven against the Angels.
Hunter Brown continues to be dominant. Also, I was looking
at a lot of stuff plus numbers this week. This weekend,
two pitchers jumped out to me. Hunter Brown jumps out
(01:09:01):
as just like a lead across.
Speaker 3 (01:09:03):
Hey, listen, all these starters are going down, Gilbert, all
these elite starters, Gilbert Reagan's and who's the other one,
Tye on or glass now put Hodter Brown into that
top tier right now.
Speaker 2 (01:09:18):
He is pitching out of his mind. I don't disagree
with you. The other one was Tyler McGill is someone
I would be looking at if he's floating out there.
Speaker 4 (01:09:26):
I believe if I saw it correctly.
Speaker 2 (01:09:27):
It was the number one stuff plus fastball, and he
ranked in like the top five I think of overall
stuff plus. It needs more sample size with it, but
like and he also it's like a sub two ERA, Like,
things look really good out of Tyler MGill, so I
would look at him. Nick Lodolo nine strikeouts against Colorado,
Aaron Nola went seven and struck out six against Chicago,
and tye On seven only struck out two Your leaders
(01:09:50):
over the last week or seven days. Just throwing this
out here, Jack Flaherty and the most strikeouts thirteen eleven innings,
one quality st are at four nine one ERA JP
Sears had twelve strikeouts two point five three ERA over
the early games yesterday. Brandon Fott two wins. I believe
he's the league leader and wins right now. That's our race, Yeah,
(01:10:11):
that it is our freaking ace right now. Two two
five ERA twelve innings, struck out eleven, Joe Ryan, Terek Scougle,
Sean Newcomb, by the way, struck out eleven in six innings,
So kind of interesting there. We had three quality starts
over last week. They came from a list you would expect,
of course, in Bryce Elder, Bailey Ober, and Brandon Fott.
So you had to have a bee in your first
(01:10:31):
The bees. Yeah, the killer bees, the killer killer bees.
I don't know if there's anything else to look at
on the pitching side. Oh, and then saves Emilio Pagan
four saves over the last week. Maybe it's making the
Alexis Dias thing not happened quite as much. Pegan is
getting it done. Five strikeouts in four innings with four saves.
(01:10:53):
Are you moving Pagan up a little bit?
Speaker 4 (01:10:55):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:10:55):
I think you have to if he's pitching that well
and they're not taking him out of the role, because
I think you have to move him up a little bit.
Where where did you will get in obviously more granular
on the next episode, But how where do you have
him among your your closers?
Speaker 2 (01:11:11):
Oh gosh, I think I no I did here. Let
me go over to it and I just clicked on
the wrong list. I moved him at the very back
end of So here's where I moved him. I moved
him just under Porter Hodge and just above will Vest
and I have right above them because I'm just still
(01:11:33):
not sold that Pegan is going to be the guy
the whole season.
Speaker 4 (01:11:35):
I'm with you, I'm with you one hund that if
we're two.
Speaker 2 (01:11:38):
More weeks in, I think he goes closer to like
a Kyle Finnegan.
Speaker 4 (01:11:42):
He's a great yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:11:43):
I mean because if he, you know, two more weeks,
if they don't pull the job from him, why would they,
especially if he's not you know, he's going to have
to do something to lose this job at this point,
don't you think like two two blown saves in a row,
or one really ugly one where I can't get an out,
something like that, Like he's gonna have to f up
(01:12:04):
tremendously to lose this job.
Speaker 2 (01:12:05):
I think that's it. That's a possibility, because like Francona's
not locked to him. I do think when they think
Diaz is ready, maybe they give him a chance and
maybe they slowly take a gone out, but like he
might have to really blow it for them to take
him out. Of that role.
Speaker 3 (01:12:19):
Are there any real and this is you know, just
me going down a side road here, but I saw
something on Reddit that the Dbacks are interested in healthy
Is there any real rumors to that?
Speaker 4 (01:12:30):
You hear Gambo talking about it at all or anything.
Speaker 2 (01:12:32):
I mean, you know, I never listened to sports radio
out here, but yeah I do. I've I've seen it
come up a couple of times in like a lot
of the Diamondback blogs and stuff like that.
Speaker 4 (01:12:42):
I'll bet you there is some truth to it.
Speaker 2 (01:12:45):
But I think here's the problem. You've got Ginkle back.
Ginkle's back today, and I think they could throw I
think Ginkle will go right back into the closer role
because Justin Martinez has the arm fatigue.
Speaker 1 (01:12:56):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:12:56):
If Puck is like ruled out for the season, maybe
they could do it. I just don't think the Diamondbacks
want to go and trade in the offseason. It would
have taken them like Lawler to get Hellsley. They ain't
doing that. They're not doing that. But would they trade
two median prospects where they traded Drew Jones? Maybe they
actually might. I just don't know if they want to
do that type of equity because when healthy you've got
(01:13:19):
Pauc Martinez and Ginkle. But the problem is is everybody
else and Shelby Miller by the way, and everybody else
stinks ass. So you've got to figure out we have
four great relievers. Do you want to invest a high
equity to get a fifth guy? Or can the four
get us through? And we need to figure out what
this other grouping is because it ain't Joe Mantiply, it
ain't Scott Means. I should never see the field again,
(01:13:43):
not this year anyway. But Gingle is probably gonna be
a really great save option. Also, Pete Fairbanks, Mason Miller
Andres Munnos with three, and then you had Deval getting
some saves. Hater Felix Batista, Kade Smith, Luke Jackson, Carlos Estevez.
Are you moving to all after getting a couple of chances.
Speaker 3 (01:14:02):
That that whole job is pretty interesting?
Speaker 2 (01:14:05):
Right?
Speaker 3 (01:14:05):
Doesn't it keep going back and forth? It's like they
throw Walker a ton of innings and then Devall comes in.
I mean they keep winning games, so it's like you
keep using these closers. I'll say, looking at Russ Resource,
they got Walker on the hot seat, uh, and Devall's
got the last two saves, So yeah, I mean it
(01:14:27):
could easily go back to Dovall. The whole thing was
just his horrific attitude towards everything last year. That was
what really got him in the doghouse. If he has
learned from that and adjusted, then great, his stuff is
better than Walker's. I feel like so, I.
Speaker 2 (01:14:43):
Think I would put Devall above Pegane. I just did
it in my ranks because, like, I like the prospects
of him, you know, sticking with that a little bit
longer than I do pagone. But maybe what what.
Speaker 3 (01:14:53):
Are Let me just look at Ryan Walker's recent performances.
What is he doing that's been so u miserable? Here
game log? Let's see, gave up? He hasn't given up
anything his last two starts or the last two appearances
before that, he gave up two, only got one out
against Milwaukee, gave up four, only gave up we only
(01:15:16):
got one out against the Angels. So uh, he was
clean before that, hadn't given up a run. He gave
up one run in his first appearance, went what is that? One, two, three, four, five, six,
seven clean games and then these two meltdowns against the
Angels and Brewers, but against Texas. He didn't give up anything.
(01:15:39):
Gave up two hits in the next appearance against Texas,
but no runs.
Speaker 4 (01:15:44):
So so what you.
Speaker 2 (01:15:46):
You think it's just still kind of I think.
Speaker 3 (01:15:48):
It's still Walker. But I think they're just gonna use
both those guys. And if Dovall seems to be the
the better guy right now, then put him in the ninth.
Speaker 4 (01:15:57):
Put him in all Liam Cohen showing up on the podcast,
I'd like.
Speaker 3 (01:16:08):
But yeah, if the Vall, if he keeps pitching like this,
he could easily take this job away. This is not
like a solidified Ryan Walker for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:16:16):
Job. Yeah, all right, those are some looks that you know,
the hot guys over the last week, and some breakdowns
and art takes on them. Last couple of things we're
just gonna.
Speaker 4 (01:16:25):
Throw out you.
Speaker 2 (01:16:26):
We will leave you with your most added players. Looking
at CBS's number, the number one most added player last
week was Webbe Marte. Wee Marte up to seventy nine percent.
Speaker 3 (01:16:38):
Still the only guy to move above to change fifty
fifty percent or more was.
Speaker 2 (01:16:45):
He was twenty four percent the previous week, so still
a little bit under owned. The next big one was
Augustin Ramirez, who is up to seventy percent. Definitely someone
you should take a look at. Jordan Beck has moved
up almost forty points. He's under fifty percent ownership though
Andrew he was number two because I believe he's got
the two starts and will Vest. That's your top five, uh,
(01:17:05):
and then the bottom is Luke Weaver, Camillo, Daval, Griffin, Canning,
Jorge Planco and rhes Olsen. So a lot of names
we talked about in there. Luke Weaver, you got you
got some speculative closers. Again, You've got Jordan Beck and Polonka.
I mean there's a good mixture between this group. I
definitely I advocate for this group. But also without any
pow has only thirty two percent owned on CBS, so
(01:17:27):
down there.
Speaker 3 (01:17:27):
Yeah, and a couple other pictures that have been I mean,
Kate Smith is down there, by the way, a little
bit below these guys. But Gusto for Houston has been
really good. Jake Irvin for the NATS has been pretty decent.
So yeah, there's some there's some decent ads out there
right now.
Speaker 2 (01:17:44):
And then the last thing is taking a look, well
just is a fun little thing. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, let's
look at the probable pictures and see if we have
any streaming options going down the list, lots of big names.
Looks like gi Alito is going to make the debut.
I didn't even see that at Toronto on Wednesday. I'm
not doing it it, but Juliana is going to be
out there. Andrew Abbott against the Cardinals thumbs up? No, no, okay,
(01:18:06):
you're out. I'm in Hayden wiz Nesky against Detroit thumbs
up or down? Where is that that is in Houston?
Speaker 3 (01:18:17):
Mm?
Speaker 2 (01:18:17):
Thumbs down. I'm gonna thumbs up it.
Speaker 4 (01:18:20):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:18:20):
Tyler Anderson at Seattle for the Angels like that? Okay? Uh?
Speaker 4 (01:18:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:18:27):
All thumbs up that.
Speaker 1 (01:18:28):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:18:29):
Gonsolin Tony Gonsolin looks like he's gonna be starting. O.
Wait is that am I looking on?
Speaker 3 (01:18:33):
No?
Speaker 2 (01:18:33):
That is Wednesday. Looks like he is scheduled to be
the starter tomorrow against Miami. So thumbs up off or
thumbs down off the injury.
Speaker 4 (01:18:41):
No, I don't want the first one off the injury.
Speaker 2 (01:18:43):
I think I could do it with the Marlins, but
it is it is very risky. And then let's see
landing route against San Diego. That's thumbs down.
Speaker 4 (01:18:52):
I thought he hasn't been amazing, but it's Di Diego.
Speaker 2 (01:18:55):
I don't want him against San Diego.
Speaker 4 (01:18:58):
I'm not going to Does he have a start again
some yet this year?
Speaker 2 (01:19:01):
I have no idea.
Speaker 3 (01:19:02):
I mean I I just feel like he's mowing everybody down.
Let me look at his Yeah, welly, let me look
and see if he's played h They haven't played San
Diego yet. Last start was only three and two thirds.
He gave up five. It might be hitting the wall,
you know what, I'm I'll risk it all that, all that,
(01:19:24):
I'm gonna risk it.
Speaker 4 (01:19:25):
I'm gonna risk it.
Speaker 2 (01:19:26):
I gotta get the biscuit. Jake Irving against Philly at Philly, at.
Speaker 4 (01:19:30):
Philly, No thanks, all right.
Speaker 2 (01:19:32):
Jeffrey Springs that Texas on Thursday at Texas.
Speaker 3 (01:19:36):
Look, uh, does he let me look at his home
road splits. I just want to see because that's a
it's a good thing to look at.
Speaker 4 (01:19:42):
Yeah. I've been.
Speaker 3 (01:19:45):
Yeah, I know, everyone was like, oh, Jeffrey Springs, Jeffree Springs,
And I was like, I just this ballpark is gonna
get worse and worse all year, isn't it?
Speaker 4 (01:19:53):
Seven to two?
Speaker 3 (01:19:54):
Oh? E r a at home four seven three on
the road, So not good anywhere, really bad at home.
I guess all thumbs down it, but I don't know
if he pitches well here against Texas, you know, he
gets a longer look for road starts.
Speaker 2 (01:20:09):
Highly owned player, but thumbs down. Zach Gallon at the
Mets tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:20:14):
I mean he is just it's like the first three innings.
If he can get out of the first three innings clean,
he locks it down after that. But uh, the first
three innings have been a complete disaster for Gallon recently.
Speaker 2 (01:20:24):
This is an interesting one. Kyle Freeland at San Francisco,
but it's on the road.
Speaker 4 (01:20:31):
Has he been good anywhere this year?
Speaker 2 (01:20:32):
Free?
Speaker 4 (01:20:33):
I mean, I mean they have four wins.
Speaker 2 (01:20:35):
He has no wins. But I think his era is
still under three and a half.
Speaker 3 (01:20:40):
Zerra is five ninety three, his Sierra is three to two.
Seven is x fit is uh three oh six. Clearly
that's what you're thinking.
Speaker 2 (01:20:50):
So No.
Speaker 3 (01:20:51):
Eight five three are at home? Seven four oh eight
on the road, so you know what, let's go with it. Oh,
on the road in San Francisco. Yeah, we'll do that.
Speaker 2 (01:21:02):
Okay, Casey my is at the Angels, Yay, yep, let's
look down here. Oh, there's a bunch of poop ones.
I don't think. I like Shane bosiganskn City, Yes, Tyler
Molly against the Athletics in Texas.
Speaker 4 (01:21:16):
Yay y yes in Texas for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:21:19):
Friday, let's go to Friday.
Speaker 4 (01:21:21):
Friday is Rebecca Black here.
Speaker 2 (01:21:25):
Let's see dang Dayucie against Detroit.
Speaker 4 (01:21:31):
Nah, he's been bad.
Speaker 2 (01:21:33):
Weather's is scheduled.
Speaker 3 (01:21:34):
To go against UH Miami or the Athletics in Miami
or in second Miami. I don't want that first start back,
and that's even I mean he just pitches single a.
Is he really coming up to the bigs right after that?
If he is, great, but I don't want his first start.
I do like Ryan Weathers long term though.
Speaker 2 (01:21:53):
Tyler McGill a's Saint Louis love that one based off
what I talked about earlier. So that's a good Friday.
That's one I would pick up early or Friday everything
A Jacklider against Seattle.
Speaker 3 (01:22:05):
Yeah, I mean Seattle is still hitting like garbage, aren't they.
Speaker 2 (01:22:10):
Polanco's there, Yeah, I mean this will not great.
Speaker 3 (01:22:12):
So yeah, I mean Polonco has been amazing. Let me
just look and see what is their average for the year.
Where do you think they rank. I'm looking it up.
Speaker 2 (01:22:21):
Right now, what like their batting average or.
Speaker 4 (01:22:24):
Like batting average for the team for the year.
Speaker 2 (01:22:27):
Oh, I'm gonna guess like twenty first.
Speaker 3 (01:22:30):
Twenty Oh very good, two thirty seven, but yeah, I
would roll it.
Speaker 2 (01:22:35):
Yeah, there you go, friends, there you go. Get you
a little bit of prep work on some of those ads,
some player breakdowns, injuries, and some streaming pitchers. On the
next episode, we will take a look at rest of
season ranks. I will go through who I have. We
can kind of pick it apart. Bogman can pick that apart.
Top twelve catchers, top twelve or fifteen first baseman. We'll
just kind of all list off some we'll talk about them.
(01:22:57):
See which right, See what's wrong? The reason doing it?
Like because we're a month in, you know, so the
rest of the season ranks are a little bit I mean,
they're quote rest of season, but they're waited a little
bit till like the two weeks in front of you.
But having a month behind us and stuff, we can
get some better representations. So we'll talk about that in
that next episode. You guys can maybe send in voicemails
(01:23:19):
and all that was kind of last week in this
leak at jail dot com. Record yourself or whatever you
want to do, lock that down with questions, emails or voicemails,
put that at the end of the episode, and hopefully
you guys come and hang out. Also live on Fantasy
Pros twelve pm Eastern all week long. I've got I'm
doing hits I got. I don't know when it's gonna air,
(01:23:39):
but I recorded today on Tuesday, rates and barrels with
DVR and email, and then on Wednesday, I'm on road
a Wire with James Anderson. So I got a couple
hits out there. If you all want to check that
out and do some live streaming a thin I'm gonna
try to jump on a live stream today on the
twitch Twitch dot tv slash in this League, and then
it's looking like Friday, early Friday, I will be on
(01:24:01):

Speaker 3 (01:24:13):
Yeah, all right, I had four shows yesterday, three shows today.
It's uh, it's a busy early week for your boy here.
Speaker 2 (01:24:20):
